Fantasy Reaper: Reboot

Goodrich frowned when he heard that the mission was to be handled by a higher upper. He had hoped that he could meet everyone and see how they perform first hand, but now that the mission was called off, he would have to hope he could join the rescue operation. He took after Revnoir, whom he tapped on the shoulder to catch his attention. His hand was heavy with plate, and it created a satisfying thump as it tapped his shoulder.

"The rescue mission you spoke of, is there a specific squad assigned to it?"

He thought to lead with a general question, to hide his enthusiasm.

@Umbra Regalia

Hearing the slightly familiar voice, Cam glanced towards Goodrich, and then darted his eyes towards Revnoir himself, waiting for a response. If it was the same situation as the current one, Cam would have to keep his anger down so he doesn't explode.

"Squad 3, 6, 9, and part of the Medic Squad are all in charge of the mission. We haven't had many other missions lately, so we can afford to dispatch so many of our squads. Don't worry, you'll be able to come with us." He looked at the armored man then Cam, knowing just how they felt about the mission – excited. "Meanwhile, since we have some time, you're all able to train or prepare in any way you'd like."

Cam let out a relief sigh as he got up from the wall and made his way to a large room, wherever he could find one.

Jacks eyes slowly looked up as Revnoir mentioned squad 9 will be one of the squads in charge of the mission. "Me and Wolf will finally be able to hurt something." He shook his head, "No, this isn't who you are anymore." Jack thought to himself, he made a promise to someone long ago that he would change - and that's what he will do. "Well, I best go train on the dummies." And with that Jack walked out the room and headed towards them.

Goodrich nodded and sighed as he would be set in inactive duty until that mission. He began to think out a routine, hoping to improve his marksmanship and close quarters combat, which he was a professional at during his time as a soldier.

Now he was a nobody.

He is determined to change that.

Having heard that they had time to loiter, he decided to explore the base, walking through the many open corridors to find countless rooms and personnel. He was amazed how many people were on station, but more impressive as the medical bay which stood as a bastion of technological advancement in their resistance base. It held many stations for advanced surgery, prosthetic fitting, etc. He watched the doctors in silence as they shuffled and attended to each of the injured men and women, just like him, who gave their time and body to saving humanity as they knew it. True heroes.

Cam walked for quite the distance until he finally ended up at a promising room. He opening the door, and was greeted with a much bigger room than the original meeting room. There were several white couches, which were more comfortable than the grey ones in the other room. There was even a black fridge in the corner filled with beer and all types of sodas. 'Hm, it must be restricted to Squad Leaders... Whatever' He thinks to himself as he slams the door behind him and grabs a beer. He stumbles over to one of the couches and turns on a massive TV on the wall. "Damn, this room is awesome." He popped open the beer as he frequently flipped through channels with the back-lit remote. He had completely forgotten about his training, and persisted to watch television.

Revnoir slipped out of the vehicle bay, and headed off to find Xillia. He hoped he'd be able to help her train, if she weren't too busy running around delivering paperwork like some sort of assistant. Xillia and Revnoir often trained together, knowing each other's weaknesses and being able to help each other improve. That was how most Weavers trained – with help. Weavers were able to form Reaper-like creations for the other to fight, even if it hurt like hell when the Weaver broke their Threads. Even then, creating Reapers from Threads wasn't as great as possible, seeing as Threads couldn't make actual Reapers. Just moving figures of Reapers made of different Threads.

Jack opened the door to where the dummies were kept. "Time to get to work." He unsheathed his sword and began hitting each dummy, getting perfect hits and even managing to cut into one. "Damn, well, I doubt anyone will care." Jack said with a slight laugh. Most of Jacks spare time was spent training with Wolf or working on keeping in shape; he preferred doing it alone however. He had been alone most of his life and was only just getting used to interacting with so many people.

Cam continues to flip through channels with a straight face. Thoughts begin to race through his mind as he then encounters a headache. "Agh... The hell?" He mumbles. "Probably watching too much of this crap." He turns the television off as he gets to his feet. Suddenly, he hears an odd noise coming from his coat. He lets out an annoyed groan as he takes his phone out and sees that he received a text from "BR". Suddenly, fear came across his whole face. 'Crap, are there any security cameras in here?' He thinks to himself as he hides the screen of his phone and glares around the room. He seemed fine. He unlocked his phone, reading the text: "We know it's been a long time sir, but we need you right now. We think that we found a big step towards the conclusion." Cam texts back with sweat beginning to run down his face: "Not now. I'm at Weave base. We'll talk later; a few days maybe. Just get back to work." A text instantly is sent back: "Fine." He wipes the remaining sweat from his face as he slips the phone back into his trench coat pocket and walks out of the room, making his way to an actual training room. He tried to hide the horrified look on his face, afraid that there was some type of camera in there watching him as he had made the text.

Revnoir could be found leaning against the doorframe of the room Cam was in. He had been looking for Xillia, and decided to check the lounge for Xillia just in case. Instead, he found Cam. "Don't mean to pry, but who was that? Girlfriend? Sorry, just a bit curious, not many people have cellphones around here let alone someone to text."

Cam looked at Revnoir, still having some sweat on his face. He hated to lie to anyone, so he was frozen for a quick moment before he spoke, "Heh, well... It's a really long story. I prefer not to talk about it. I guess you could say it is kind of like a girlfriend situation." He grinned and chuckled quietly. He decided to counter with a question which would make the whole situation more believable, "Do you have... Anyone you're going out with? I mean, I know most of the world has been destroyed or wiped of humans, but just wondering as well." He continued to smile and waited for a response.

Revnoir gained a mischievous smirk. "Not right now, no. But that's not the focus here, fill me in on this 'kind of like girlfriend situation'." He may not be the smartest when it came to studies such as history or science, but he was clever as hell and could tell that Cam was acting strangely. He would figure it out sooner or later. He didn't much like having suspicious people in the base, especially if they seemed to be doing something malicious. "We've got time, and what better place to talk than in a room like this?"

Cam suddenly began to speak in a trustworthy tone, as what he is about to say is actually related to what's really going on with his personal problems, "I'm having some issues with someone. They keep nudging at me and it's kind of getting me annoyed, but I can't come up with a response." He paused for a while before he continued, "And... Like I said before. It's kind of a private thing between me and the person I'm talking about, so I don't really wan't to go into details. Hope you can understand." He grinned genuinely

Jack had left the room and was walking through the base, hoping something would happen. From around one of the corners he heard what seemed to be Revnoir and Cam talking. He hid behind the corner and began eavesdropping. "Girlfriend?" Jack repeated under his breath. Hearing that word angered him, he hated it when he was reminded of previous events in his life.

dante was wondering around the base. he was a little relieved that the mission had been canceled but part of him was disappointed. He was not sure he could do much in terms of fighting,or strategies....or..anything really. thinking about things like "how can i be helpful" made dante kinda mopey. he eventually found his way to the training room. taking a step inside he wondered if there was a way for him to test his fighting prowess, maybe find someone to spar with him .just to see if he had what it took.

"Aw, c'mon. I wanna know what my Recruit is doing." He paused, getting an idea. "Oooh, is it some... Coupley stuff?" He raised his eyebrows, suggesting he was talking about something a bit sexual. "Just lemme see~ Or do you have something to hide?" His grin grew coldly. He was acting strange. Any more of this, and he would do something unexpected.

Cam then frowned and thought to himself, '"Let me see?" Since when is Revnoir a perv?' He shook himself out of his trance and looked back at Revnoir with a straight face, "Well... It's similar to that. It's actually really hard to explain if you know what I mean." He chuckled a bit before he continued to babble on, "I... REALLY don't want to talk about it." Cam was officially pissed that Revnoir was trying to dig inside of his head. He gave Revnoir a sort of glare, half scared, and half telling Revnoir to piss off.

It wasn't very long before Scourge had reached a massive fortress-esque building in the north. Aura's base. He flopped the white-haired boy over his shoulder and approached the building. He had reached the base fairly quickly.

Revnoir chuckled, crossing his arms across his chest. "Fine, how about if I show you something in return?" He wouldn't let this guy have a break.

Becoming more curious as the conversation went on, Jack was also getting more confused as to why Revnoir was acting this way. Revnoir was actually acting 'nice'? He felt something was up, why would this cold-hearted man act 'nice'? Upon hearing what Revnoir just said about showing something, Jack's curiosity grew even stronger.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" The fear in both Cam's eyes and voice was completely obvious, with the exception of his anger. He let out a deep exhale, calming his nerves, "I don't care for your personal issues Revnoir, nor your life issues overall." He said in a subtle tone, having buried most of the fear deep inside of him and assuming that the man was going to show something related to his life.

"It means that you get to see something Scourge has been keeping a secret for a long time. It'll be worth it, just trust me." He took a step closer to the fearful man, knowing the effect he had on him. He scared him. He was used to it, especially when he was like this. He remembered the day he had scared Xillia a long time ago. It was a natural reaction.

Cam was in fact traumatized by Revnoir approaching him. He attempted to step forward to intimidate him, but he somehow couldn't. Without uttering a sound, Cam took a small notebook from his trench coat pocket and wrote a note with a pen reading: "If I tell you anymore, I'll die." The writing wasn't the most stylish, but definitely readable. He slipped the note into Revnoir's hand as he stormed off, eventually ending up at one of the bathrooms. He approached the mirror and stared into it, realizing how afraid he actually was. His skin was pale and covered with sweat, and even his eyes were bloodshot... But that was probably from the lack of sleep. Either way, Cam was horrified of the possibility of death. He finally walked into one of the bathroom stalls. Although he didn't actually need to use it, he simply leaned against the stall wall, the door to it locked up tight.

Revnoir looked down at the note, scowling. "It's a shame, isn't it?" He muttered to himself, letting out a quiet sigh as he crumpled up the paper in one quick movement of his claw. "He doesn't know what he missed out on." He tossed the note into the small garbage can in the corner of the room, not much caring if someone found it. This man had something to hide, and as much as Revnoir was in a similar situation, he couldn't help but let his curiosity take over. He would figure it out at one point. He turned to leave, looking somewhat bored now.
