The day had just begun and as the students filled into the academy's halls a loud bell sound resonated throughout the whole hallway. After the bell sound had finished Grimm began to speak over the intercom. "Hello to all new students and welcome back to those who call the academy home." There was an obvious air of boredom in his voice, but it didn't matter this speech had to be completed. "Make sure to arrive to your classes on time detention isn't something you want to have here." He gave a small chuckle and then coughed loudly to clear his throat. "I am Kain Grimm your headmaster. What happens at this academy is fully under my jurisdiction so please stay on my good side. The job board is in the center of the academy and if you pick a job you must have it okayed by me, I will be the judge of whether or not you are qualified for the job, and I will also be the one to add jobs to the wall. That is all, please enjoy yourself."

Kinna was slouched on the couch inside the teacher's lounge with an MMA magazine and gum in her mouth, her shoulder length black hair was up in a ponytail to keep it from getting in her way.

"Hmm..." She mumbled as she looked at the tattoo on her arm. I really want to get another tattoo... like a dragon or something. She thought before throwing her magazine on the couch and sliding a bit down in a more comfortable position before she closed her eyes, class started in a couple minutes so she could get a couple of minutes for nap time.

Grimm suddenly burst into the teachers lounge grumbling and rubbing his eyes. He went straight to the coffee machine and pulled out what appeared to be a shot glass sized mug. He held it in his hand until it was twice the size of a regular mug and filled it immediately drinking from it. "Is this really the time to be napping Kinna, new students are coming in to meet the great fighting teacher." He gave a small chuckle and took another long swig. "This is looking like one hell of a wave, with all the war in the world people are coming in hundreds."

Pfft, New school year and the big man's already diving for the coffee heh, o well Shit happen's anyway's... I looked down and saw "To be continued" on the T.V... "damn it, Just when it was getting good" I put my bowl of cereal in the sink, and turned off the T.V and walked for the door, "Ill head down to the Boiler room and make sure everything's in order, Call if you need me elsewhere". I headed down the main hall too the Utility access and took the elevator down to the basement and into the main boiler room, Everything checked out normal and then I looked at the light's the wall too see if any room's needed work done on em, which nothing needed it at the moment new school year and all. I sat back with my ear to the microphone awaiting for any call for assistance.

Kinna opened her eyes when she heard Grimm walk in so she groaned and rolled onto her stomach to look at him when he grabbed his cup.

"Ah, class starts in about 5-8 minutes so a nap sounded good to me," She mumbled.

"Yea, totally agree with you but I don't think there's much we can do while working a school," Kinna smirked, her mind began to wonder off to having a drink or two before class started. Oh, a drink sounds heavenly right now. With a shake of her head she let her eyes study the tattoo on her arm.

"What do you think about a dragon tattoo, Grimm?" Kinna asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Grimm sighed and sat down in one of the plush chairs allowing his briefcase to lazily fall out of his hand. "If you are attempting to talk me into getting a tattoo the answer is no. Otherwise yeah you could have another tattoo just don't get it while you're drunk. We may be able to remove wounds with our power but tattoos are still permanent." He took another big swig of coffee and sighed. Shaking his head Grimm mumbled under his breath "I sure hope she doesn't try to teach drunk again." He had a high respect for all the people he had chosen to teach at his school, but sometimes they weren't the best role models.

Evangeline stood in the middle of the school's hall in an emotionless haze. One moment the petite blonde was kneeling down to console a crying class mate and the next a bang. Then a flash of light. Then a voice. She had been chosen to be trained as a reaper. A small smile crept onto her face, no doubt creepy to any student passing by. This was still all so new to her, yet, enthralling, entertaining. Students brushed past her in a hurry, she should probably be hurrying too, the headmaster did say that detention was something one didn't want to have here.

She bit her tongue harshly to keep herself from grabbing the bottle of whiskey she had put into the fridge where the teachers kept their lunches and other things. Standing up she stretched her arms without a single hint of a ladylike manners showing in her stance.

"Well a dragon tattoo could look good on you but I think I would prefer having it on me... of course since I know how to do tattoos, I don't mind letting you get one for free," Kinna laughed before patting his back and turned around to leave.

"I'd say wish me luck... but we both know I'm not the one whose gonna need it," She joked before leaving and making her way to her classroom, she was hoping that she didn't get stuck with a bunch of brats this year because since she was sober there was no way she was going to be a sweet teacher. Being nice doesn't really suit me anyways.

It only took Evangeline a moment to snap out of her daze and join the other group of students in their rush to get to class. Suddenly nothing felt different at all and she felt determined to succeed in her training to become a reaper. Everything seemed to fall into place so far, however, she wished she had time to change, she was still wearing her cheer uniform which wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a gross splotch of blood on it. She shrugged, appearances aren't all that important, right? Hopefully not, because she was just about to walk into her first class of the day; Fighting and Weapons Mastery. She smiled, Oh what fun!

Grimm let out a long mess of grumbles that might have made a sentence if he wasn't in the middle of also taking a long drink of coffee. He sighed and as the first class of the day began stepped out of the teachers lounge into the hallway. He glared out at any students still trying to get to class and clicked his tongue. "Always a few slow ones on the first day." He muttered a few more incoherent things under his breath and kept walking down the hallway looking into the windows of the large classrooms. Some of the rooms were specialized for certain subjects, such as the weapons room which wasn't actually a class room and more of an arena behind a door. Finally making it to the end of the hall he opened the Headmaster's office and stepped up to his microphone to speak again. With the same long bell sound he spoke again to the students. "The class you are currently in is your homeroom, apparently something common nowadays on earth." He cringed for a second when he said that. Dammit I just told them how old I am. "Your homeroom is important to remember because in the case of an S level crisis all students will be sent to their homeroom and wait there until the invading soul or souls are eradicated. That means you better be nice to your home room teacher or they might just leave you in the hallway. By the way I didn't actually mean that don't even think about it!" He turned off the microphone and sighed leaning back in his big chair waiting for the first lost or hurt students to wander in for help.

Kinna almost laughed at the beginning of Grimm's announcement when she walked into her class, the students were looking around the large room that held weapons but she wasn't planning on using them this month.

"My name is Ms. Gortez but you will all be calling me Kinna, welcome to your first week of class and I really would like to say that you don't have any work but that would be a lie... now good luck, go into the locker rooms and get changed, I want each of you to do 40 laps around this entire room!" Kinna shouted over the group of students and it the groans of complains were clear in the air, it seemed to make Kinna happy.

"That's impossible!" One of the students spoke up and Kinna would've praised him for having some sort of balls but the moment she looked at him he flinched away.

"Well if 40 laps is impossible for you then you will never be able to become an official reaper. Any of you who decide to skip out I'll let you know this now! The moment I walked in I memorized each and every one your faces, including how many of you there are, you ditch and your a**es are mine," Her eyes shined with power and truth when she looked at her students, with a clap of her hands she pointed toward the locker rooms and the students rushed to hurry up.

Evangeline was already ahead of the other students. 40 laps? That's cute. She thought, smiling just a little. She shook her head. She knew it was a challenge and she was determined to beat it. The blonde took a stretch and fixed her pony tail so it was neat and pulled back. She took off her burgundy and white cheer jacket, which she was using to cover up the blood stain on me front of her uniform. She frowned, isn't that a shame. She shrugged it off, it wasn't the time to worry about it now, it was time to start on those 40 laps. Evangeline folded up her jacket and tossed it into a locker. She stretched a couple more times before moving to the front of the pack of students to line up for laps.

Grimm sighed and spun around in his chair for a bit. The first day was a dreadful bore, no students getting in fights no soul attacks no injured students from missions, and no rules broken. He decided in the end to visit Kinna's classroom as it was always interesting to see what she was forcing students to do. He took a quick detour to the teachers lounge and refilled his cup. He then walked into the arena that counted as a classroom and wandered up to Kinna. He gave a blank stare to all the new students as he drank deeply from his mug. "You making them do laps today? Not even introducing them to their weapons? It's always a strange rush for them to suddenly find a weapon on their body, you should know that."

"Ha! What's the point of them even knowing how to use their weapon when they can't even out run a D- level soul let alone an F? Besides, this 40 laps is just a warm-up," Kinna grinned as she folded her arms and watched the classroom, her eyes looked over at the AC on the wall. I think its a bit to comfortable in here. With a grin Kinna grabbed a a bobby pin from her hair, without much strength she threw it at the heat button and it didn't take long before the room started to get hot; of course Kinna hooked up a fan that was directed toward both her and Grimm.

"So Grimm, how about having a drink with me while the newbies are warming up?" She grinned at him, without a second thought she walked over to the closed door that led to her office and took the bottle of vodka off her desk before returning to Grimm.

"It won't get you that drunk since it isn't my home-made remedy of alcohol," Kinna assured him since sometimes she does bring it to school.

Grimm mumbled a bit and finished his second giant mug of coffee. "You know you need to be sober to teach." Even as he said that he held his mug out towards the bottle his eyes giving away that he dreadfully needed something to do. "I finally understand why the other teachers complain that the first week most of the students are too tired to even concentrate. I understand the need though so I will make sure that the other teachers put a small work load on their students." He mumbled a little bit under his breath and put his briefcase down on the ground the sound of rattling and a little bit of a sort of scream coming from within. "War isn't exactly the best time to be a reaper."

"War isn't a good time to be anything, sir" Brant said, walking up to the other teachers, "Did I miss anything?" He asked then noticed the distinct smell of alcohol coming from Kinna's drink "Y'know, we should probably get to know each other better if our classes are going to work well together, plus, since we're trading off the gym for some classes, I would appreciate if you didn't napalm the students; it might get the floor messy." Brant said while pouring some of the clear liquid into his flask. He was in his off-duty attire: modern, digital camo, lightweight cotton with his name and rank on the left breast. He had This Machine strapped to his back, That Gun holstered on his hip. He still carried basic equipment, despite the lack of necessity, it was more of a paranoid tick: 'Those damn Commies could airdrop in at any minute' he would say, and if confronted with the information that Communism was on the decline, he would counter 'That's just the Commie spies planting false info in your mind, stay sharp.' Brant tended to either ignore or remain blissfully unaware of the fact that airdropping troops would be the least of their worries, with the nuclear weapons scare in North Korea.

Grimm made a small ticking sound as he took a drink from his now alcohol filled mug. Looking out the window he made a sort of grumbled sound as if something had surprised him and walked over to the wall. On the wall of the office was a small intercom system directly linked to Damien. He pressed down on the button and cleared his throat. "Damien it looks like we got another level A wandering around the perimeter of the school, deal with it however you want to but try to figure out how it got all the way up here. I'd like to know how these spirits keep seeping in." He let go of the button and awaited an answer taking another drink from his mug. Looking at Brant he mumbled something around the lines of war turning boys into machines. "Well it would be good for you to get to know each other, most students go straight from one of you to the other so you should understand each others methods."

"Should I shoot it?" Brant asked Grimm, This Machine already poised and aimed over the heads of the running students, who didn't seem to notice through the gallons of sweat pouring out of their faces. How dead people sweat so much, Brant would never know, but the spirit was exiting his FOV, so he prompted "Sir?" with his finger still hovering over the trigger.

"No no Brant this is a job for Damien that's why he works here. Besides we need information from it first." He slowly took Brant's hand off the trigger and then took another swig from his mug. "You should get yourself acquainted with Kinna and the students who will entrust their lives to your training and guidance." He nodded and began to head out hoping to get to the soul at the same time as Damien so that he could help interrogate it.

Evangeline lead the pack of students during the laps. Twenty laps in and she felt absolutely disgusting, but she shouldered on. The honest young woman didn't think too highly of her teacher, Ms. Kinna as she let them call her. So far because she has hardly taught them anything. This frustrated her probably beyond any of the other students, but that frustration fueled her running, keeping her going non-stop. However, Evangeline thought that she should give her a break. It's only the first day and who knows, maybe this was to get the students pumped that's all. She knew she shouldn't say anything about it, she knew full well that her mouth sometimes gets her into trouble since she's so honest. Usually with peers but not with teachers since she was a very successful and hard working student. Three more laps went by as she thought to herself and she was still in the front of the group.

"It's like you guys never ran ten miles before!" she chuckled then was quiet. There goes that honest mouth of hers again. Evangeline was quiet for the rest of her laps.

The T.V blared in the darkness as i was turning valves and Banging on Thing's to fix em, And then there was boss man interrupting my Jeopardy I grumbled as I walked too the intercom "Right O boss, Whats it look like" I started heading down the stair's and Down to the ground's "Never mind, I found it" The damn thing sat staring at me as if I had just knocked over it's mother's ashes, Which I did not and after all damn thing was To be expected from a Class A but eh I had a job to Do. "Ill bring it to the basement when I nab it" i dropped the Link.

"Alright Then monster, Let's see here...." I sat pondering but it still stared at me I always wondered what they were thinking but time to work and on the first day of school. I slowly stalked it walking around it, It took it's stance and i slowly closed in on it, It leaped first Clawing at my gut AND brand new shirt Which I had to stop. Grabbing it by the wrists and going under it I had flipped it over not without a few cut's of my own, I Put it into an arm bar and slowly Used My leverage I slowly Pulled back word's then a sickening crunch Sounded out on the ground's And then a tear. It was farther gone then I thought as it's arm simply came off and It slipped out of my grasp And slashed me right on the Gut, Damn thing was gana get it now.

I Got up and Tackled it, Beating it's head on the ground breaking rib's and Dislocating it's shoulder with ease, I Picked up it's heap By the neck and Tossed it into the brown burlap sack. I grabbed the whole bag and started to walk down the interrogation offices Grumbling about my shirt the whole way. "I got wacha wanted boss man, Hes in room one... Damn thing ruined my shirt" I sat the bundle in the chair and waited for Grim to show.

Kinna looked at the teacher named Brant, she's been working in this school for a while and this year she was hoping to not have to share the room but obviously that wasn't going to be happening.

"The name is Kinna Gortez... so what we're teaching is pretty much close to the same thing, right?" Kinna raised an eyebrow at him, she never was one to be good with introductions so she didn't even try to show him a kind side to her.

Grimm nodded and almost laughed a bit. "I'll make sure to add the cost of a new shirt to your paycheck this week." He walked past Damien with a quick nod and took a small walkie talkie with him as he entered turning it on and testing it. "Hey Damien you got me on the other side?" Grimm wasn't really checking if it was working at all he just wanted a line to the other side in case important information was said and he forgot it before leaving. He walked up to the spirit and smiled a bit. "So how'd you manage it all the way up here." The soul did no more than stare at him and scream incoherently. It became apparent after five or six questions no real answers would be gained and so Grimm opened his briefcase and pulled out his miniature scythe growing it to normal size. He swung it with a quick precise blow and the soul was gone. Grimm put the blade away again he walked out. "As you were Damien." He walked back up to his office and reclined in his chair with a long sigh. "Where the hell do they keep coming from."

"Not really," Brant said, slipping into a more casual tone now that his CO was gone, "You teach how to fight, I teach how to use whatever you can to put that knowledge to use. Codependent, not synonymous." Brant looked over the recru-- students, noting a single girl ahead of the crowd, he turned to Kinna "Hm, when I was alive, women couldn't serve on the front lines, a few tomboys made it through, but for the most part, being a medic or a mess worker was all a woman hoping to help could ask for. War is hell, but at least it never get's boring, just as a problem is solved, the solution reveals another," he said, nodding to a small group of boys harassing a girl. "Boys can make it to Heaven, but they'll still be boys."
