Reality TV on Prime-Time

Alexander was wearing a normal gray hoodie with the hood up, and dark sunglasses concealing his eyes. He didn't want to be spotted, you know, since he was a famous singer.

He had started his career on some singing reality-show type competition. He was that kid, the one girls fawned over from the very beginning. His boyish good looks, dreamy smile, and heavenly singing voice all combined to make the perfect girl-candy. After winning the competition (largely due to popular vote in the final rounds, might I mention), he went on to record his own music. He both wrote and sang them, increasing his popularity. Lately, however, as he rounded the 21-year-old mark, his fame was dying down, but only a bit. He kept his act clean and respectable- unlike some other role models that followed the same path. However, he has been trying to branch out. Turns out he had a knack for acting as well, drawing a whole new crowd to him. He appealed to all ages, making him the perfect candidate for the new reality TV show.

It was his manager that had first brought light to this, and he had signed it blindly. He didn't even know the name of the show. For him, it was a way to meet some new people without having to worry about them just wanting to leech off his fame and money. Now being 21, he was able to go drinking, making the drama highly possible on the show.

He had his luggage already brought in for him, so he only had a simple backpack resting on one shoulder. Peering into the house, he wondered if he was the only one here at the moment.

The man known as "MisteriousCreature", identity unknown at the time, pushed past Alexander without so much as an excuse me or acknowledgement of his presence, a comical unicorn mask over his head, as was his signature image, the belt he wore clinked against the button on his jeans and the rucksack on his back tossed about as he walked, gazing through the somewhat open snout of the white-maned animal head, and he glanced over his shoulder Not a soul, not a sight. Beneath the cover of an equine face was a smirk that pulled to the left side of his face, "Won-der-ful." He chuckled, for a moment he looked at the stranger's face, by stranger he meant, 'Alexander Psail, omg!' This guy was all over the comments section of his Youtube channel, though not for a good reason, he was like the new Justin Bieber, and boy did he annoy internet-famous people like Ben.

Benjamin Wolfe, twenty-five year old internet-famous mystery man with the voice and wit of an actor, but a complete lack of acting skill, he was one of the few real players left, and his face was declared 'Most likely to become the eight wonder of the world' on a popular blog and he'd been given an award that he decided to redeem with the face of a horned horse, which was now the point of many memes and jokes he didn't care for, after he agreed to join the reality show with Alexander he'd gotten more than a few messages and it was... Irritating, to say the absolute least, the usual threats of being sued still flooding in due to his cursing and refusal to remove explicit violence from his videos, he'd put a mature warning on his videos, and told everyone kids shouldn't watch his videos but they continued to threaten, and threaten, relentlessly.

And here he was, walking casually to the building and greeting a few people of the crew with a wave of his middle finger, Heh, typical reality show bullshit. Cameras everywhere, god they are ob-vi-ous! He thought before glancing back at Alexander, with his 'perfect' face, honestly, it kind of bothered him because he didn't look old enough to be doing anything on his own, likely because of his celebrity status. All Benjamin knew was that he was going to treat this guy like everyone else, and that could mean either heaven or hell for this One Direction wannabe, likely the latter.

"Hey, wait a minute," Alexander said, not liking being ignored. "What are you doing with that mask on?" he asked, not really knowing what was going on. He took off his glasses, and then the hood. At least inside, he would be safe if another wave of fangirls attacked him, like they did at the airport just a few hours ago. Since he didn't read the contract he signed, he didn't know who else would be here. And of course, he was more likely to be in a video on youtube than watch one- he didn't know any major youtube stars.

The horse mask was actually starting to freak him out, honestly. For a second he wondered if it really was a reality TV show he signed up for, and not some weird furry convention or something. Shrugging his shoulders to himself, he tried walking by the unicorn-head-guy without looking at it.

"Heh, I wouldn't expect Mr. Fancypants McBabyface to recognize a 'minor' youtuber such as myself... Though, my popularity has skyrocketed and yours has," He pointed down with his index finger in one quick and very animated swing of his arm, "Well, it's really dropped recently, now hasn't it? Don't think your little acting thing or whatever is gonna change that, you have more than a few hate blogs..." Benjamin chuckled, leaning back slightly and resting his hands on his lower back to stretch, resulting in a rather satisfying crack, and he turned his head to both sides, resulting in a louder crack very similar to his back, "TV is dead, bro, trust me..." He watched at Alexander walked past and shrugged, turning and talking to the crew a bit longer, laughing a bit as one cracked a stupid joke, and busting out a few of his own. Funny, how he preferred talking to the cameraman over talking to the other cast member... He began to wonder if there might be others, that was one thing he'd forgotten to ask, but it's not as if it mattered to Ben, he just felt like getting out of the house for awhile.

Alexander frowned at the weird guy. "At least I don't have to rely on a gimicky mask to keep me relevant. And my job takes actually skill, rather than a fancy computer." He said, being sassy today. No way would he caught taking any shit from some nobody that played video games in his mom's basement.

Benjamin laughed, "The mask isn't why I'm popular, and at least I can be popular and keep my freedoms, Madam Moody." The man smirked behind the horse's face, "By the way, we both know it isn't skill that makes you 'famous' it's just the face, it's what keeps the creepers comin', now isn't it?" The masked man chuckled, "But let's save the drama til' the show actually starts, kay Honey Boo Boo?" He joked, being a typically upbeat person didn't exactly call for constant sarcasm or rudeness towards this actor... Singer? He wasn't too sure anymore, "I'm Benjamin, and I obviously already know who you are, so no need to reintroduce yourself or anything."

Alexander crossed his arms. Well, at least the producers will get the drama they want, he thought, looking over this Ben character. From what he understood, 'Ben' probably wore a mask to hide something most likely. As usual, his imagination ran wild- did he have a scar? Was he disfigured? Was he just ugly? Either way, the mask really made Alexander think less of the guy. "I'm going to go pick my room. First gets the best picking, you know," he said as he started off to the stairs.

"Eh, I'm not finicky, have your pick, princess." Benjamin chuckled and stepped inside, leaning against the wall and crossing his covered arms, looking around at the inside of the building, which was also full of very obviously placed cameras, so long as he didn't have to shower in front of one or just have one in the bathroom in general, he'd be fine with them, it's not like they'd see his face, and he'd rather it stay that way for the sake of his identity, though with that odd feeling he got from Alexander, his façade may or may not live as long as he'd like. He wouldn't want anyone to know who he really was, his job... The thought nearly made him shudder, but he quickly shoved the idea to the back of his mind and shook off the unpleasant feeling it'd given him before he glanced around once more. I just hope I didn't make a mistake in coming here.

Alexander went upstairs silently. He was already tired from the plane ride, so all he wanted now was to jump into some fluffy bed. The second floor was mostly a single hall with doors on either side, leading to bedrooms and doors. He thought he vaguely remembered his agent tell him a total of four people would be in this house, so it made sense that there were about 5 doors - a bedroom each and a bathroom. While he wasn't looking forward to sharing a bathroom with complete strangers, he was still happy about the prospect of friends.

he walked straight to the door all the way at the end of the hall, hoping it would have the biggest bedroom. He didn't bother to check the other bedrooms-

The one he picked was already perfect.

Benjamin pushed off the wall and headed upstairs, not really paying much attention to the rooms either, and walking to the second door on the left side of the hall, throwing it open with ease and ignoring the fact that it had just put a hole in the wall, he walked inside and glanced about, there was another camera up in the left corner, the first thing he'd seen, he dropped the rucksack onto the floor, pulled out a funny looking deer mask and pushed it over the camera, following the action with another bout of laughter before he pulled the mask off and wiped sweat from his lightly tanned face, his flattened Mohawk springing up almost instantly, "Agh, that thing's too hot..." He groaned before he looked around at the room, not seeing a bed quite yet, he walked around the right side of a rather strange wall, "Seeing as there's a bunch of celebrities here... I bet these are all different... Cool, but ridiculous... Heh, fame is funny that way I suppo-Oh my god." The man stood there a moment, face twisting into a face that fit his response, "What the fuuuuuu? Am I in hell? Great, gonna wake every morning, thinking I'm gonna drown. Lovely, lovely, wonderful." At that moment, Ben said goodbye to normality and hello to a world of his phobia, a shark floated by the front of the tank and nearly made him ill at the sight. At least this might force me t0 get over my water fear... Hopefully. At that time he caught a glimpse of his own face in a mirror and swallowed hard, no one could see his face, he'd be in the room as much as possible but he'd be too afraid to stay for too long.

Alex jumped on to the bed, relishing in its simplicity and brilliance. Brown wasn't his favorite color by far, but at least it wouldn't give him a headache when he woke up every morning. After a few childish jumps on the bed, he ran to the window. The house was built with a view in mind, he could tell. The beach was just outside, but not close enough to be fearful of high tide. He could see a boat on the horizon, its white sails royally scouring the clear blue sky. A petulant demeanor overcame him as his eyes lit up with a certain magic of wonder, and his lips parted in complete awe. "Wow," he uttered to himself, having not seen the camera in the room yet. He stayed watching tumultuous sea until he heard a car door slam shut- someone else must have arrived.

After a bit of fish-watching and inner panic, Benjamin rose, walking over to the mirror, he didn't look at his own face much but at the time felt compelled to, that was, until the sound of a slamming car door sent him stumbling backwards and before he could clumsily trip over anything he yanked a mask down over his face without checking to see which one it was and rushed over to the door, peeking outside to see if the person who, from the sound they'd just created, seemed to have been having a bad day to find that they hadn't quite made it to the door. Praise the sun for that, jeez, some people... Ugh, and I have to spend how long with these strangers? He sighed, ducking back inside and taking another look at the mirror to see that he had, thankfully, not grabbed a mask too odd to appear in, though, by that he'd mean that it got weirder than a kangaroo face. He pointed at his reflection as if to say 'Not bad.' in a comical manner before he pulled the deer mask down and headed back down the stairs to see who else was there, tucking the neck of the mask into his shirt as he walked.

Peter stormed into the house, certainly in a bad mood. He was yelling at someone over the phone, probably his agent, about agreeing to do this stupid TV show. Even though he could see it potentially could bolster his popularity within the young adult demographic, he didn't want to be proven wrong- he was stubborn that way. His normally handsome features were distorted into almost a snarl, but that may have made him more attractive. I don't know.

Alexander went down the stairs, sill feeling ethereal after seeing such a sight, and looked up at the newcomer.

He knew Peter's face anywhere. He initially gained some traction when he was born. He was blessed with luck, having been the only son of the "It" couple years ago. From birth he was watched. Used to the cameras, he thought reality TV was just a waste of time. Otherwise, he was mostly known for his promiscuous ways, being known almost as Hollywood's whore. He wasn't a very good actor, but he appeared everywhere anyway. his fame fed off the hate.

The right of Benjamin's upper lip raised slightly in his minor disgust and the corner of his mouth reached out towards his ear with his ever-present amusement, his blue eyes glinted behind what was now the head of a kangaroo as an eerie chuckle ripened in his throat and blew through the eyeholes as he passed by the guy and headed back outside where the salty air blew into his face once more, reminding him that there was, in fact, a beach nearby that would likely become part of the show later on, meaning he'd be excluded from this part on account of camera shyness when people could see more than his arms, he looked around a bit more and up at the sky, blue as ever, it bothered him that this place seemed to get less rain than he was used to but he'd have to get used to it.

"Hey, don't ignore me!" Peter said angrily, turning to go back outside to follow the guy in the deer mask. Honestl,y living near fame and the weirdness, he wasn't even fazed by the mask.

Benjamin turned around, "I apologize, your majesty." He said sarcastically behind the kangaroo's face with a light chuckle, and a bow to partner with "Did you want something or are you just here for attention?"

Peter narrowed his eyes at the deer-head, already in some pissed off mood for no real reason. "You've just made a powerful enemy today," he said, not knowing how petty he was being.

Benjamin laughed, "Powerful enemy? Yeah, I guess so, Ice Queen." He teased light-heartedly, shaking his head, Wow, celebrities are such drama-queens, guess that's why I'm here? Ease some of the ridiculous drama?

"Don't tease me!" Peter said, hanging up on his agent. He obviously had some sort of anger-management problem. "You have no idea, who you're messing with. I have connections to make you rue the day you every back-sassed me. I can make all this budding fame go away in a poof of fairy dust!" he said threateningly, waving a clenched fist in the air toward Ben. He might be trying to look menacing, but he actually just looked comical.

"Aww, how cute, you are trying to threaten me, aren't you?" Benjamin grinned beneath the mask, "Fairy dust? Budding fame? Peter, you are just begging to get made fun of if you talk like that to a person like me, you know that, right? You don't like it? Perhaps the best thing to do would be just, walk away, I have fans in the millions and an ego about the size of Jupiter, anything you say is just giving more fuel to the flame of sarcasm." He chuckled and walked around the side of the building to go see the view on the other side, it was quite lovely indeed, he couldn't help but admire the beauty of the crashing waves, but felt a bit upset by the fact that he couldn't remove his mask, he longed to feel the wind in his face and actually breathe but that'd have to wait until later.

Peter actually turned red with rage, and the looked away like he knew this conversation was just beneath him. He huffed, very full of himself, and disappeared back into the house.

Alexander went down the steps of the house, and went to take in all of the view. From his room, he saw the back of the house- the beach - and from the front of the house, he could see the city. Coming from a smaller town, he always dreamed of the city. Only recently has his career forced him to move far away from his home and actually in the city rather than near it, and it truly was a sight to behold. From the glistening buildings to blinding mirrors and the revealing fog, he knew he'd love this house. Especially if there were some plans to take the show into clubs and events. He stayed standing there, awestruck, much longer than he did looking at the sea.

He was already feeling homesick, a feeling the lukewarm waters wouldn't soon treat, Benjamin already missed the light rain that came this time of year, the scents of his home, the wildlife that wandered through his backyard, his friends, the internet, at least he could probably get on the internet soon, hopefully. In this reality show he'd have to live with four celebrities for a period of time he'd quickly forgotten, one of them already disliked him, well, likely everyone, and the other was Alexander Psail, likely an entitled brat like the rest, but he wouldn't let that bother him... Not for too long...

After having his fill, Alexander began to wonder where the fourth person was. Perhaps he was a special celebrity and would be making a grand appearance later in the show? It didn't really bother him- he just wanted to know who he was. Or she, he didn't really know.

Getting a little tired of the view, Alexander wanted his eyes to relax again. He didn't really want to go back upstairs to his room by himself, so he went to the back of the house, wanting to maybe see the beach from a closer view.

Benjamin sighed, looking around and contemplating the consequences of removing his mask before deciding against it, resting his elbows on the short white fence before him, settling his chin in his hands, well, the kangaroo's chin, watching the slowly falling sun and the crashing water, a bit jet-lagged, he felt himself dozing off when the sound of footsteps caught his attention, though not enough for him to turn his head, seeing as his exhaustion was catching up with him and the fact that the muffling mask made breathing a bit more difficult than his bad smoking habit, "Who goes there?" He called with a less than enthusiastic chuckle and a quiet yawn.
