Story


You are alone, cold, and afraid dying on the streets. You feel a gentle hand pick you up, you yelp but then stop and hope that where they are taking you is good. The car you are put into has a cozy blanket and a water dish. You lap up all the water in no time! You get a good feeling. After a 1 hour car drive you feel that hand again. They put you in a small room with another dog(if you are a small dog you share,if not then you are just put in a room.

) You see food and water and go straight for it! Then when your full you lie on the bed.


"HI!" says the dog next to you.....

No dogs so small that you can't really see them! They MUST be atleast 6 pounds. No HUGE dogs, 180 pounds max. No wolves/wolf hybreds. No powers either.

After six months in the ring she had gotten quite a name. They used her for breeding using cruel methods and untested drugs to "better" her pups growth. She was beaten and dumped in the streets after she miscarried her last litter.

Rose woke up on a soft bed her side wrapped in a soft pink bandage. Where was she? The last thing she could remember was a harsh beating from her owner and being dumped in the street. As her mind began to come back to her she recalled losing her pups and the painful details the sedative had repressed. Taking a closer look at the room Rose noticed a food dish and a bowl of water. She stood up shakily and made her way to the bowls wincing with every step.

After eating her fill Rose stumbled through the doggy door. She jumped as her paw stepped on something prickly and green. It was grass something she had not felt since she was a pup. She recalled a long lost memory of her scampering through the grass before she was lifted back into a kennel with her mother. Rose leaned her head down breathing in the fresh crisp scent. When she looked up she spotted other dogs, she backed up stiffening.

chain: saw rose and got up. hello! he had a big grin on his face as his tail wagged nonstop. ​are you new here?

Rose watched him distrusted shadowing her face. What was he getting at was he trying to trick her into relaxing so that he could attack. "Yes," she barked hesitantly her eyes flashing to the other dogs around. Everyone seemed to be getting along, was that normal? She had only none a life where dogs fought to survive.

chain: its okay, all dogs here trust each other and care for each other ?he smiled again, then plopped down next to her with his gigantic bone and started gnawing away... want some?

Jade: So millie, how was YOUR day? she lied on her side

Rose shook her head sidestepping to her right. The idea of trusting another dog sounded like suicide but most of the dogs here seemed to be fine. She still wasn't fully convinced. She shook her head as a burst of wind whistled through her ear canal. Rose nose realized why most dogs needed ears that flopped it protected them from harsh winds.

millie: ahh...good, i guess... she was chewing her favorite toy

chain: why dont you go inside? its not as windy there ?he chuckled and he saw her face once the wind past

Rose noticed an abundance of brightly colored toys and bones scattered across the yard. "I'm fine I need to learn how to deal with it. Your name is?" Rose asked tentatively. The male sitting beside her was at least six inches taller than her, she could practically walk underneath him if she had wanted to.

chain: he smiled​ i was waiting for you to ask...chain...you are?

"My name is Rose," she barked remembering what her mother had called her as a pup. In the rink they had called her Fighting Seducer but that had never fit and she wanted to leave those days as far behind her as possible.

millie: well...im off to my kennel, its cold out here! she waddled inside her kennel and lied on her bed, chewing her toy.


jade: Hmm.. ​she sat up, then went to her kennel too

Rose watched two females walk back into there kennels.

chain: what a beautiful name rose...hmm..rose...rose it ran around his head a million times. kennel name? or, well....i guess you wouldnt have one since your very new...chain is my kennel name, Chase is my real name, what the humans call me, but all the dogs call me chain. he ran up to a patch of three roses and brought one back to her for you he smiled?

Rose smiled for the first time since her first litter of pups. She took the rose and laid it down beside her front paws. "What do you mean kennel name?" she asked rolling her bony shoulders.

chain: well, there is your assigned name, which is your real one, what the humans call you, and there is the ones the other dogs give you,your kennel name, its like a nickname, but optional.

Rose nodded, "That sounds...nice," she barked. "Why do they call you Chain?" she asked sitting down on the soft grass. She was slowly becoming used to the odd texture.

chain: i have this chain around my neck..and also,when they brought us from the fights we had HUGE chains around our necks, my chain was one of the heaviest.

Rose nodded, "So they gave you a different chain as your collar. Do all dogs get collars?" she asked breathing in the cool winter air. Her old owner had used spiked collar he made himself. If you pulled to hard the spikes would drive into your neck until you bled.

millie: fell asleep after she ate


jade: looking out the window, she licked herself, then she cuddled up with her teddy bear and curled up and went to sleep

Rose nodded, the sun was dropping lower and lower into the sky. "When do the humans come?" she asked flicking her tail back and forth. She shivered in the cold air dreading the return of humans. They were the only thing she fear more then having to fight again. They could cause so much pain.

chain: oh, anne, james, charles, and maddy? yes, they lock doors and feed us again in about..mmm...10 minutes, but the doggie doors in our kennel stay open

anne, james, charles, and maddy: They all locked doors, fed the dogs, watered them, cleaned the cages and then lied out their sleeping bags and turned on the tv in the lobby

"Do you like the humans?" Rose asked hearing the rumble of a car outside. "I better go back to my kennel, thanks for the rose," she barked stumbling back to her kennel.
