As the group got acquainted with their respective Insect Souls (for better or worse in Elliot's case), the Mayor's son gave Chance dry expression with the thought of "purple" looking good on him.
"Gee, thanks, Chance," Elliot said, shaking his head before taking his own opportunity to briefly bond with the Butterfly Insect Soul.
As he observed, he heeded Minako's words about what the color Purple and Butterflies meant symbolically. He honestly hadn't thought too deep about that (especially given that they went from being inside a massive, mechanized Beetle to a Command Center behind what was perceived to be a hidden city. The "purple" itself didn't appear to be too purply; it was more of a lavender color that Elliot was growing to like now that he was observing it.
"When you put it that way, Minako... it sounds hella dope. I'm rockin' with that."
When Kit spoke, his words tied a bow on the proverbial "gift" that was being presented to all five of the new Rangers. Commander Starr's expression softened, a small smile forming on her features as she watched each of the five individuals accept and assume their responsibilities.
"Mr. Sharptooth is correct in his analysis. In order for Araknarok to be eradicated, you five must work together for the greater good. Minako, you mentioned leadership. And although Elliot has showcased that he is a capable leader, all of you have that same capability within you. Decisions must be made together as a group, but there are also moments where each of you may have to take on the responsibility of being this team's leader," she said, turning her body towards the display screens in front of them.
Suddenly, a loud, blaring siren went off inside of the Command Center. The video on the screens shifted to the forest area that led up to the barrier of which the Command Center was hidden behind. A large group of Larveils were on their way to the barrier!
"How the hell did they know where to find us?" Elliot said, stepping closer to the screen and furrowing his brows.
"We will have to figure that out later. Until then... Rangers, we need you to defend the barrier from the Larveils," Commander Starr replied quickly.
Just as quickly, the Rangers right wrist began to glow in a light that reflect their color before dimming to form a dark black bracelet with their respective Insect Soul Emblem on the top of it.
"Those bracelets give you access to your Ranger powers along with the arsenal that comes with it. At any given time, when you hold out your hand and you're ready for battle, your Morph X-Calibur in your grasp," Commander Starr explained, the display screen showing a sample of what the motion looks like. "Of course, there is much more to learn about Ranger weaponry, and we will get into that later, but for right now, tap the emblem on that bracelet around your wrist and you will be teleported into battle."
Elliot had even more questions to ask to Commander Starr in this moment, but with the Command Center potentially in danger, they would need to survive their second battle. At least this time, they wouldn't be fighting with regular human strength.
"Say less," Elliot said with a nod, looking at everyone. "Let's do it."
Tapping the Butterfly emblem on his bracelet, Elliot's body was surrounded in bright, purple energy. Mere moments later, he felt his body being tugged upward and out of the Command Center before quickly landing on the ground in the middle of the forest right in front of the honeycomb barrier that led into where the Command Center was located. With the rest of the Rangers by his side now, they were met with a countless group of Larveils, pointing their weapons at the Rangers.
"We meet again," Elliot joked, cracking his knuckles. It was then the voice of Commander Starr emerged from each of their bracelets, giving them instructions.
"I forgot to mention this: to complete the Metamorphosis, simply press your corresponding button on your Morph X-Calibur and shout 'Meta Morph!' All Ranger weaponry is linked to your voice so only you will be able to complete the Metamorphosis."
Nodding, Elliot extended his right hand and his Morph X-Calibur appeared after emerging from a bright purple light. It was a nice-sized sword that had five different triggers on it that seemed to be related to the five Insect Souls they had met before. When he tapped the Butterfly button, the hilt of the sword lit up briefly in a purple light while making a triumphant battle noise that sounded similar to trumpets and drums.
"Meta... MORPH!"
Elliot felt protected... immediately. His body was surrounded by a bright orange protective barrier that seemed similar to a cocoon. While he stood there, the Butterfly Insect Soul burst from his bracelet and grew in size similar to the Beetle Insect Soul before. Flapping its wings, the Butterfly took flight into the air, before swooping back down with Elliot in its sight.
"Oh shit... wait!" Elliot exclaimed, but his body was unable to move as the Butterfly passed through the protective barrier, bursting it into pieces that disintegrated. All the while, the Butterfly phased through his body, but covered the Elliot's body in what appeared to be a powerful, purple armor. An enormous energy was rushing through Elliot's body now as he felt superhuman with these new Ranger powers.
And he looked damn good in purple too.
"Yooo... this is crazy!" Elliot shouted, holding onto his Morph X-Calibur, swinging the sword and taking a look at himself behind the butterfly visor of his helmet. "I feel like Iron Man, for real!"
