Other Random question of the day

An old throwback; Spike from Buffy and Angel. I remember enjoying the shows a long time ago, mainly because I thought Willow was adorable, but then finding the show to be amusing and interesting.

Apparently they had toyed with the idea of having a Spike spin-off, but Joss Whedon hated Spike's character and wanted him gone from the moment he became a fan favorite. Alas, we'll never see it and it'll never happen. But I miss the ridiculous humor those shows had. They don't have shows like that anymore.

Are we allowed to ask 'What about you?' or is that considered asking a question?

Yes, that does count as asking a question, and only I as the owner of this thread can ask questions. But if you wish to ask me about my opinions on the questions that I ask, you can go to the discussions thread that should be linked at the start of this thread.

Hmm ... I am honestly not sure of this one ... but maybe ... maybe ... Star Trek: Section 31. I'm not sure what era. Another Star Trek spin off might be Temporal Wars. Yet another, Fall of Iconia.

Neville Longbottom
John Marcone, The Dresden Files (he's from a novel series though, so I don't know if it counts here)
Shawn Hunter, Boy Meets World

All levels in platformer games. 🙃 I just can't.

If we take non-platformers, final boss in arcade mode of Arcana Heart 3. It was designed to be unfair. Took many hours of retries for me 😭

Frustrating game level was Final Fantasy 15’s Costlemark menace dungeon post game. 100 floors, no healing items allowed. The four iron giant room.. was a rather interesting ride.

The best way to handle them is avoid their gravity spells and keep them apart because they’re designed to be difficult at lvl 90.

I cheesed that menace dungeon with the help of the magitek suit but it was a wild experience to me. Ignis’s food and overwhelm are your best friends in the game.

Pretty much any puzzle levels. I enjoy puzzle games, I hate puzzles in games, if that makes sense.

I think the one I hated most, so far, was in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The last dungeon is one giant puzzle level that is a nightmare of annoyance to get through. Its such an annoying slog that it single-handedly keeps me from wanting to replay it. In their new game, Wrath of the Righteous, one of the companion characters has a personal quest that, wouldn't you know, is one giant puzzle level. I took two steps into the room, turned to leave and when the companion said if I leave, she would leave the party, all I could say was...

Bye Felicia.

Random question of the day:

What's the most frustrating video game level you've ever played?
OG Megaman on the original Nintendo System. Dr. Mario on the same. Shadow of the Beast on the Sega Genesis... I don't even know where level 2 is!
Honestly, a lot of old school games are fuckin' hard. No such thing as a save file.

Never heard of this. Maybe something cultural?

Like murdergirl and onmyoji , I simply haven’t heard of such an association. What I have heard though is an association of low intelligence = high brawn in that traditional dichotomy though, and one might think of high brawn as often entailing height (people who are more muscular also tend to have larger frames).

As for why that high brawns, low brains association might exist, I’m not sure. The first thing I think of is the jock/bully vs nerd stereotypes, but it’s definitely a lot older than those. I’d suspect it’s either something with roots on evolutionary biology (perhaps something associated with specialization) or with early human history, though I’m just throwing guesses here.

Random question of the day:

Why do people associate stupidity with being tall?
I think I understand what you're saying lol. It's the himbo stereotype. But at the same time, it's not exclusively height, either. Like Mitheral said, there's a short, squat, and dumb stereotype too.

Probably whisper. I'd kill my vocal cords pretty fast if I only shouted. With whisper you could use mic for amplification at least.
