Quarantine London [Inactive]

Janie took the bag and fumbled with the zipper until she pulled the bag open. She grabbed at one of the water bottles and took a huge swig of it before wiping her mouth on her sleeve. She lifted her head turning to Andrew. She thought about telling him about Max and Alyssa, but they were probably fine. It wasn't like they'd miss her much. So instead what came out of her mouth was. "My backpack- I dropped my backpack." She closed the water container and dropped it back into the pack. "I'll come."

Sam watched as the small creature approached, as it neared closer, it stopped. It stopped and stared at Sam, a stare that said a million words, told the story of the countless days the two had spent together. This creature, was Sams best friend, and chihuahua, Bilbo

Bilbo quickly dashed in, with a stride that lasted several bounds. He ran around the horde of infected and barked, grabbing the attention of all that he could, leading about 6 of them away, scrambling after Bilbo.

Bilbo was able to squeeze under some rubble where the infected couldn't get to, they scratched and clawed but couldn't reach the dog.

There were less now, maybe so many less that he could make a dash for it

He closed his eyes and counted to 10

Andrew crawled back out of the entrance, pulled Sam's spear out of the infected and turned towards the girl.

"We can go back and look for it afterwards, here take this."

Andrew handed her the makeshift spear

"You should really find something to defend yourself with, but you can use this for now. The knife at the end is pretty secure, but I wouldn't go bending it in any weird positions" Andrew turned towards the road. He wasn't sure where Sam ran to, but he thought it best to start by going to the alley where they last saw him.

Janie took the spear in her hand staring at the weapon. She turned and followed Andrew toward the road deciding not to mention that she had no idea what to do with the sharp object. "What's your name?" she asked realizing they hadn't introduced themselves. She brushed her bright colored hair behind her ear wishing she had something to tie it back with.

"The name's Andrew, Andrew Wilson. And yours?"

Andrew gripped his crowbar. He was worried about Sam. They had grown close in their time together and he didn't want to lose anyone else.

8... 9... 10..

Sams eyes popped open, he made a stand still jump back toward the pile of rubble from which he came, the infected noticed him leave his perch, so did the infected after Bilbo. They all at once made a dash toward him, he slid down the rubble and hit ground floor. He darted forward, toward the street where he had last seen Andrew

An infected got ahold of his arm and yanked him back, throwing Sam off balance.

He struggled free and made a mad dash froward, about 10 infected rallied behind him, the haunting sound of the crazies echoed through his head

They all scrambled forward, competing for who would get to rip him apart

Sam entered the nearest building, shutting the door, enveloping the whole room into pitch black darkness

"It's no problem, I figure if I was in a situation like you were, id want somebody to help me out too."

Andrew knew he was too trusting for his own good, but he wanted to keep to what his father taught him. He knew not everyone was good, but he also thought everyone deserves a chance.

"So you've been out here alone? I can't imagine how that's been for you. Me and Sam were lucky, we found eachother pretty early on, it helps. You're welcome to stick with us if you want"

Janie shook her head. "No, well yes." she tried to answer. "I was alone until yesterday. Being with others wasn't better. The 2nd day I was with them, I lost them to a zombie pack. Oh, and my backpack."

"Damn, that sucks, did they get infected?" And was there something important in your bag?"

The two had come to the street where they last saw Sam after he had asked the question. There was an unusual amount of infected clawing at the outside of a building.

"We should check inside there."

Janie nodded. "I don't know. I mean probably. I didn't stay to find out." she answered the first question and left the second one hanging. Her head turned toward the infected who were much to interested in what was int he building to notice her or Andrew. "I don't know about you, but I tend to avoid the placed where infected cluster together." she shook her head not seeing the point of getting themselves trapped inside with whatever it was that had caught the infected's interest.

Andrew looked at Janie

"if I know Sam, he's be the one to get himself trapped inside a building surrounded by infected."

Andrew looked around. It seemed like the infected were gravitating more towards one side.

"Here, follow me. Try to stay low and quiet."

Andrew creeped towards the other side of the building, there were only two infected on this side. He reached into his bag and pulled out an empty ca and threw it as far as he could to the opposite side and both of the infected ran after the noise.

"Alright quick!"

Andrew ran up to the door and tried to open it, but it was stuck.

Andrew shoved his crowbar into the crack, turned to Janie and told her to watch his back.

Andrew started pushing on the crowbar.

"cmon jack, don't fail me now."

Janie nodded and followed Andrew around to the side door. She stood still watching the infected run after the can. She watched Andrew walk up to the door trying to open the door. She nodded and turned around watching for infected. She shifted uncomfortably waiting for him to open the door.

"All it takes is a little muscle"

Andrew whispered and he forced open the door.

"it's pretty dark in here. And hey, even if Sam isn't in here we might find some useful stuff in here."

Andrew tried to look on the bright side of things.

"we should get inside."

Janie turned back toward Andrew watching him force open the door. She peered inside trying to figure out what was behind the door. "Hopefully that useful stuff won't lead to our deaths." She added stepping inside the building. She looked around, staying alert.

Pitch black. There was really no way to see.. But that smell, that smell was awful.. Putrid, it made him sick to his stomach. Sam took a few steps forward, as he was walking his foot caught on something tripping him, he fell onto a weird feeling object. It was squishy, but firm at the same time. And the smell seemed to be coming from this object. Sam pushed himself into a crouch over the object and began to feel it for any indication of what it might be, as he was moving his hand across, his gut wrenched as he stifled his urge to throw up as his hand slipped into the open mouth of what he could now tell was a dead body

Sam shot up to a stand, horrified at this discovery, becoming disoriented he began to look for a way out, frantically

He had no idea what killed this person, but it might still be inside

Sam found a stair way, and crawled up it quickly

It led him to another door way, he quickly pushed the door open and rushed inside

This room was dimly lit, some light came in through the Window, but it was not much do to all the dirt and grime caked onto the Window

Sam could see a desk with an old computer monitor atop it, a book case full of books, some comfortable looking chairs, and another stairway leading up

Andrew closed the door after Janie walked in. Any windows on this floor had been boarded up or painted so that no light could get through. The darkness was so absolute that there was close to no visibility.

Then there was the stench, a smell so putrid that it almost made him puke.

"Oh god that's horrible"

Andrew pulled the lighter out of his pocket. There still was a little fluid in it. When sparked and the room was illuminated the two realized that whatever the smell was coming from wasn't in the same room as them.

Every instinct inside Janie told her to run. To get out of there. It was really hard not to listen, when it was her instincts alone that had saved her many times over. "Then let's hurry up and look around, so we can get out of here." She took a few steps forward looking for a doorway that would lead out of the room.

“don't worry I've got your back" Andrew could tell that Janie wanted to get out of here as fast as possible.

As they went into the next room the smell intensified and they had seen where it was originating from. There was a dead body on the ground that looked a if it had been there a while. Andrew quickly turned his head away and saw a staircase.

Andrew prepared to walk up into the darkness, but first turned to Janie and said

"Look, I don't expect you to want to follow me up here. Especially since we've just met. Id completely understand if you left right now, and went back to the camp or wherever, but I just need to be sure he's not in here."

Janie shook her head. "I've already come this far. There is no way I'm going to chicken out now." she looked up the stairs wondering if they would hold and tried not to imagine the fall back down if they didn't.

Sam turned toward the staircase and climbed up

It led up to a wooden hatch

Sam pushed against the hatch and it led to a roof

He walked up to the rood and shut the hatch, he saw an Old metal crate that weighed a lot, and slid it over the hatch

Best to block the entrance to no infected could get up

He continued to pile more on the hatch to be safe and walked to the gap between another building
