Active [Quang – Sienna Estate] Property for my Property - Part 2: Let me iiiiin!

Ryuuji Kamimura

Elvario Elvario Maxxob Maxxob Megilagor Megilagor Karcen Karcen Femboy Femboy

Ryuuji was somewhat puzzled by the broken item glowing wondering what it had to do with the crypt if anything as the glowing could have been coincidental or because they were in a lower light setting simply too, without further investigation.

"Well I suppose dead bodies don't usually smell like roses even if they have magic keeping them going do they?" Ryuuji rhetorically posed in response to Diego commenting on the smell, nodding, also in agreement with Fenrir's follow up.

Ryuuji then listened to whoever this figure was and the puzzle was revealed. It was rather unfortunate it sounded like the item was needed to free whoever this was to free up the rest of the estate based on what information Satires was extrapolating and the sealed individual's reaction. Even so there wasn't really anything to be done easily in this situation as Satires said, it would likely be a longer term fix. Ryuuji and Fenrir had done what they could not knowing what magic item was going off but that it could have been dangerous so acting accordingly hadn't been unreasonable.

"Very well Mistress, when the time comes I'll do my best." He'd give a bit of a bow once more in affirmation when she mentioned he'd get to use his skill set on the next operation. Fine with him, getting better at magic was the game so get better at magic he would, having already picked p a considerable sell set he hadn't really been expecting to utilize all things considered, using elemental magic or the environment around him really hadn't been on the bucket list of magic to use beyond his healing yet there he was.

When he had moved with the rest of the group out and heard Saorise's plan, he'd nod once again. Healing the people training was definitely something he could do, and spam a good deal at this point too.

"I'll prioritize healing and training then, if there's a moment perhaps I'll try appraising the item some more."

"That information will be taken into consideration for what I believe we should bring then certainly...

my understanding is that for this excursion, we should strive to pack more like those who are accomplished in the West Empire adventurer guild then, rations, alternative means of light which do not require my magic for those of us who do not have dark vision and perhaps some consumables all come to mind..frankly it might not even be a bad idea to bring some consumables which bestow healing to those who consume them, I know that it may appear redundant given that we have myself, but if I was ever to become incapacitated, or worse yet we face a monster who is skilled in interrupting magic entirely in a more dangerous area like you are describing, then I don't think it'd be unreasonable to be prepared just encase for such a scenario."

Ryuuji rationalized out.

"If anyone has any input they'd like to give on the matter of supplies for our next operation I'm available to talk while I perform other tasks, or if anyone would..like to talk for other reasons."

Ryuuji would then go about a very straight forward and organized way of the other tasks.

Given that the others weren't combat training at the moment, since it counted as training magic, he'd make his way over to Lei Con and Melia and bolster their strength and vitality passively while they were working out practicing canceling it every now and again.

Since it also counted as magic practice Ryuuji attempted to appraise the broken item again this time leveraging Appraisal D + Academia E on It, trying to make more heads and tails of it than he had before, feeling pretty sure he likely wasn't going to find out a ton, but a grade higher than before might reveal something, and the Academia might reveal some more details he hadn't seen before.

After this point Ryuuji would pull out some parchment, his dip pen and ink well, and note an area for supplies to bring, including healing consumables, alternative non magic light sources, rations, possibly armor for everyone coming of some kind, as well as basic weapons for self defense if they were going to be dealing with monsters.

He'd include some rational behind each thing listed.

He'd also work on some strategic discrete action phrases including:

Wings: combat capable slaves get on either side of Saoirse to protect her unless other person specified.

clear field: Time to attack or deal with problem quickly.

Hunt: Stalk the enemy

Open gate from both sides: Flank the enemy

Stir Cauldron: Do a Magic attack

Oil the wheels: Prepare to fight soon.

Send birds flying: Ranged attack

Break stone: Melee Attack

Mend the sails: Heal

Polish the armor: Buff allies

Pick paths: Spread out

Anchor: Regroup

Dim the lantern: Debuff enemy

Center of the storm: Focus attacks/attention on same enemy.

After this point in time, if there was still time Ryuuji would reluctantly, frankly wanting to avoid it all together, help deal with the corpses and graves, the sort of exact work he thought more suited to those slaves who had lesser potential than the core group which Saoirse had assembled but alas. Of course if anyone did end up combat training he'd heal for that.

Saoirse Desrosiers

Truth be told, her request to Teti had been a fair bit of an experiment for herself as well. She'd trained a fair few slaves in a fair few ways, but not yet this type and in 'this' way. Luckily enough, he seemed to clever enough to keep it tame. On the other hand, there was a careful balance to be had. Saoirse did not like being treated as a child and putting her on his lap got dangerously close to it. That said, the main goal was achieved, as it was a fair bit warmer than just walking around in an oversized shirt. Thinking things through in her current position, she figured she'd give him some direct feedback. “You've taken some risks, but they were acceptable. There's a fine line between using yourself as a warm seat and treating me like a child and you've been able to avoid crossing it.” She'd nod, as he'd got a passing score. No perfect score though, as he'd gotten dangerously close to the line overall.

Him agreeing to her rules was as expected, as she didn't exactly put up any firm, restrictive or brutal. The fact he didn't try to push or charm helped a lot in satisfying her. That said, the last bit made her raise an eyebrow. “A peculiar thing to bring up, especially before you've even shown me any of your own skills and talents in such situations.” That was the first thing that felt off. Whilst his words were... appealing, it felt a tad off.

That said, there were definitely some things that he could improve upon. Mentor C on Teti's Seduction F, post 1/3. “You've been using that tongue of yours to try charm me a few times now, but I feel like there's a few points you could improve upon. For one, in our current situation, if you wish to go all-in in like this, a subtle touch, a stroke along the shoulder or ear, or brush along the thigh with your tail, might make the words all the more enticing. Earlier, I also noticed your eyes didn't always entire match your tone. Perhaps your form has been enough to charm most thus far, but if you wish to improve, I'd suggest practising some more flirtatious winks in a mirror.”

There was one thing that came to mind. “Let's have you try again. I'll be biased already, of course, so you'd best put in some effort. Also, know that it does displease me when someone is purposefully vague about the details of something, like leaving out names, details or hidden intentions, no matter how charming their words might sound.” She'd state, having made up her mind on how to proceed and turning this in to a mentoring opportunity.

Hearing Teti's reply, she'd nod. “Of course.” That said, whilst her words were somewhat polite, her looks at Teti's behaviour were sceptical at best. By the look in in her eyes, it was clear that if she was to learn any seductive charm, she'd rather not get too physical with it. Unless someone where to convince or teach her otherwise, of course.

She did, however, feel a subtle influence wanting her to be a bit more agreeable rather than outright disgusted. “You know, it seems like the lady has a challenge issued for you. I'll just learn from how well you take up on it.” She'd smile, putting up the extra pressure and hoping to get some of Saoirse's good graces by showing some willingness to observe and learn. “I'm sure you'll show me some great examples, no?” She'd once again state with [Just Trust Me].

She listened to Diego's talk about how they worked with the monsters in his world. “Vamperic abilities are not unknown to this world either. Perhaps we can teach you something similar, or find you an enchanted or magic item that has the same effect.” It was similar to the 'NVG' thing. “That does indeed seem like Darkvision, though that is more in a greyscale than in green, it's a skill you might eventually be able to pick up on or equally get it enchanted onto an item.”

Once Diego, with the aid of Fenrir, had finished up cooking and the meal had been consumed, she'd get up. “The food was interesting, though it seems the talent to prepare it can be improved upon, granted the conditions to make it were a highly limiting factor as well. I'll allow you to attempt to improve it and will see about finding better preparation methods or places later.” She'd comment on that leg of the venture.

Having made up her mind on how to proceed, she'd get to something more serious. “Right, get out your Glaive. Let's see how well we can translate what you just mentioned into your existing Fighting Style. We'll need it where we're going, after all.” Mentor C on Diego's Fighting Style E, post 1/3.

“Melia, you're up.” She'd call out.

“Of course, ma'am.” She'd state, getting her weapon ready.

“The exercise is fairly simple. Diego, attack Melia with all you've got. Melia, do your best to block it. Don't hold back. Gear can be replaced, wounds can be healed by Ryuuji. I want to see the full extend of this and see what I can point out to have you improve upon.”

Melia simple nodded, getting into a defensive stance. “The mistress is right. Don't hold back on my account. If you fail to even scratch me, I'd be highly disappointed, as for now, I shall merely focus on blocking, rather than countering.”

Fenrir's reply was odd. He sounded like the Cow after a training session, yet without having been 'trained' first. She eyed him up and down, trying to gauge how much of his words held true and how much of it was a bluff. Sadly, she realised her own limits on reading people, a skill she should most definitely enhance to avoid future situation such as this. She figured, however, she could in fact challenge him and seeing how he seemed to be a rather Attentive Student, she figured he'd pick up quickly enough even if she were to make it a bit more long-winded and complex.

“A highly interesting reply, I must say.” She'd head over, gesturing him to bow down to her level. If he would, she'd pet him between the ears. A simple experiment to see how far his words would be backed up by action and behaviour, along with checking for the (normally) obvious give-away of any canine [beast], namely whether or not there would be any movement in the tail department upon receiving such a form of 'praise' from her. “You see, as I said, I am rather possessive, so these words are interesting and pleasing. Yet, however, there is a flip side.”

She'd stop the petting and step back again. “Furniture does not seek out to actively improve itself or be improved. You've earlier given me the idea you're more than eager to do so, but such remarks hint at a certain passive acceptance, rather than an active engagement. When it comes to flourishing, it shall perhaps be a either a boon or a set-back, something of which I must admit I'm not yet aware.”

That said, she'd get her clothing back. He took a long time due to his relatively low grade limited knowledge on it, but he did manage to get the job done. “Make sure to keep an eye on the location of the drying rack, as it seems the ongoing breeze is changing and I'd rather not have my clothes smoked.” She'd alert him. Otherwise, his plan was solid.

When it came to the cooking, her opinion was the same as before. “Good, especially considering the circumstances, but definitely something that could be improved upon.” That was her final conclusion.

That said, she had grown a lot more curious, due to some of the things Fenrir said before. “Say, how long have you been in service prior being bought me by me?” That might give her some insight into whether he'd just been raised to be obedient or if he'd been forced into it. Either way, there was also another thing she wished to test. “You might've caught some of it by now, but I hail from a rather large family. Especially as I have multiple half-siblings on both my father and my mothers side as well. As you might expect, we tend to hold various views on how to 'train' slaves. A few of my siblings believe that the only real slave is one that no longer is able to mentally deny any request, regardless of its context. Tell me, what would you think of such a philosophy?” She'd ask him, wishing to challenge him a bit to see if he'd come up with retorts, exceptions, situations where that might be detrimental, or if he'd instead agree without much thought.

She listened to Ryuuji's ideas on what to bring. “Sounds like a solid plan.” She'd nod, handing out some money for getting said items, as she had an idea. Mentor C on Ryuuji's Business E, post 1/3. “You know, this might be one of the few areas where you don't have to end up disadvantaged when it comes to negotiating prices. Pretend I'm the one you're buying from and see if you can figure out what you could say to get a discount.” Having her slaves be able to buy more without paying the 'who-cares-its-a-slave-charge-them-more' fees would be great.

As for her input on it, there was one thing. “Torches.” She repeated, not wanting to miss out on those again. “Rope, as there might be some water or swamplands we'd need to try cross in a worst-case.”

Ryuuji wouldn't get much more on the appraisal of the item. All he got was a slight necromantic element to it, which seemed to be both part of the original function and to have been included again in tampered with bits by the previous 'user' they'd 'killed' when he ran.

Training with an on-and-off bolster was rather odd, but she dealt with it.. Looking across Ryuuji's shoulder, she'd look at the list and nod. “Perhaps one for a tactical retreat as well?” She'd suggest.

When it came to digging the graves, she was the only one doing so without complaint. Simply tying up a piece of cloth before her mouth before digging and dumping the corpses back into the graves with little ceremony. Upon seeing Ryuuji's reluctance, she'd scoff. “Are you already getting queasy from this work? I've seen slaves sent to do this for the rest of their lives and in far lesser conditions. Most died young to diseases they caught from dealing with the corpses.”
