Since the early 1900's, humanity's technological capability had exploded, yet remained barbaric compared to its magical counterpart. Hidden away from the rest of the world lied the ability to cure any illness, level entire towns, or even mass create false memories of events that never happened. In a time long before even death remembers, there was the War in Heaven, when the Realm of Shadows and this world collided, leaving behind the Nephil, the creatures that would come to be the source of the world's mythology and folklore. The two sides waged war, with King Solomon leading this clash, and while the Nephil were strong, they were far outnumbered, and a few groups taught humanity how to wield Tenebris Energy, granting them access to magic. Eventually both sides reached an agreement, and this agreement resulted in the Treaty of Two Worlds, in which the Nephil spilled the secrets of the arcane to a few thousand families and clans, in exchange for their protection, as well as the founding of the Council of Solomon. This treaty also did several things, one of which was limit the political power a mage can have in their respective country. But not all respected this treaty to its utmost. Some wanted wealth, some wanted power, but one group held avarice above the rest.
The Voldori family is an ancient Romanian mage family who runs the corporation known as Tecnet. They found 2 loopholes in the Treaty, the first being that they are a corporation, not a political power. the second, was that they could disguise magic as technology, and sell it. In 2024, Tecnet became the global leader of cutting edge technology. New medicine, transportation, weapons and what have you was all being produced globally by them. It is not uncommon to see the Light Rail trains transporting people to the 65th floor of a building. All of this has radically shaken the world and its economy. This all climaxed in 2026, with Tecnet ushering in the creation of artificial land, the artificial continent of Rodinia. This continent, raised in the pacific between Asia and North America, stands as humanity's greatest achievement. To the mage world though, this sounded sirens off and red alarms on all fronts. How could a spell of this magnitude even be possible, and would this ensue war between humanity and Realm of Shadows?
In 2028, after the radically fast construction of new, cutting-edge cities, Tecnet has rented out land to various international powers. In the middle of Rodinia, stands the tree Guf, a massive luminescent blue tree. To the rest of the world, this is merely a show of our progress, however, any mage worth his salt can tell this is a massive font for Tenebris Energy. Concerns all across the arcane world have been drawn, as Tecnet, and the Voldori has isolated their headquarters to just around the tree. They let no one in or out, even Council representatives. With the Treaty in the balance, and war on the horizon, mages have gathered to the city of Drezzen, each with their own stake to claim. The supposed collapse of a golden age sounds on the horizon, and a mysterious figure pulling the strings moves to make their hand...

Mages
Open
Mages are anyone who wields magic or operates within the arcane world. Mages use Tenebris energy, a supernatural force found throughout the world, with certain areas containing stronger amounts. Most mages are born within mage families and homeschooled through their family. Some mages, however, start off as normal humans, and through whatever reason are taught and or enter the arcane world and society. Most mage families are aristocratic in the normal world, however normal hierarchy enters in mage society. All mages are bound by the Treaty of Two Worlds.
Detectives

Detectives are the law enforcement of the arcane world. they are more specialized in their magic and spells, and typically operate alone. All detectives belong to a certain branch, typically consisting of 10-20 members. Detectives usually wield high authority in the mage world, but still have to get permission from the Lower Council for things like search warrants. Most Detectives are usually recruited when they are considered a skilled mage, and typically have some sort of name for themselves. All detectives have the Mark of Solomon magically branded on their palms.
Humans
open
Humans are anyone not a mage or integrated within arcane society. They come from all walks of life, and millions have come to Rodinia to seek opportunity. All humans have a bit of latent Tenebris Energy within them, meaning all of them possess at least the basic rudimentary ability to cast spells.
Clerics

Clerics are specially trained religous figures of their respective religion. Clerics work to balance and keep mage society in check and have close ties with the Council of Solomon. Clerics do not use Tenebris Energy or magic, but instead use a kind of "divine magic" that can only be described as miracles. Divine magic works more elusively. Specially trained clerics in the world are able to use the aid of their specific religion. A priest in a secret order of the Vatican for example might pray a rosary, and heal the sick, or be able to contend with a mage for a short while. This “magic” is not thought of as magic and is hard to predict what it will do. It can’t be accessed by anyone and takes many years of spiritual dedication to achieve.
Nephil

Nephil is a catch all term for any creature of being that is from the Realm of Shadows. Nephil are the source of the world's various mythologies and folklore. They come in all shapes and sizes and are typically under the protection of the Council, unless they try to harm a mage. Nephil of the same kind share a sort of spiritual hive mind and are connected in some way. Nephil that can turn human's into one of them such as vampires, are rarer. These turned humans are not considered Nephil and are called demi-Nephil. Demi-Nephil are usually a cure on sight for both clerics and detectives. Most Nephil are millennia old, and remember their time in the Realm of Shadows, however there is starting to be Nephil born in Earth.
Shadowed Ones

Shadowed ones are mages or Nephil who commited an act of evil so grave they are an apprehend or kill on sight. They are divided into 5 divisions
Division 1: Approach with caution, report to authority
Division 2: 3+ mages required, report immediately
Division 3: 6+ mages required, back up will be on standby as well as mavericks
Division 4: 3+ Mavericks sent in, bounty hunters and normal mages barred from any contact
Division Apex: run on sight
There is no black and white here, these mages and creatures are evil to a varying degree. They are typically decently powerful and are not to be underestimated.

rule one.
there is no first come first serve. All roles must be applied for with a CS and approved by a GM. Forms will be reviewed by whichever is submitted earliest. Any CS are allowed just make sure you have the following included
- Powers/Magic if any
- Limitations
-Skills
-Items/ weapons (if any)

rule two.
As this is RP will feature a good bit of action, standard rules like no god modding apply. If two people have a disagreement about how a fight plays out, it should be discussed OOC. If a conclusion can't be reached a GM will be help as best we can.
rule three.
GMs have the final say. Anything is open to discussion and is encouraged, however when a GM puts their foot down it is final.
rule four.
Activity has somewhat mild expectations. If more than 2 weeks pass without a post, the player will be kicked.
rule five.
The amount of writing here is flexible. I encourage you to do however much you want and or think is necessary. We want something between a one liner and 12 paragraphs. The goal is to keep the rp rich but moving fast and constantly going, while respecting everyone's time.
rule six
Arguments between players should be handled privately and cordially. If a fight breaks out in the rp, both players will be kicked.
