Though everyone was giving their best attempts to protect the adepts fleeing, it was to no avail. Even if some troops made it to the escape shuttles in time, they would be massacred before they could all put in their identification and get the hell out of here. Only a select couple were able to make it, an older crew, and two younger crews. Everyone else was either dead or still attempting to flee still.
As Siren gently let Naoki’s head rest, he stood up and turned to see Fen arriving. Listening intently to her instructions, he didn’t say much in return. Although the look of pure anger and hatred in his eyes was more than enough. Reacting just in time to catch and hold Fen up, he stabilized her until she was ready to stand on her own. “We need to find Cedric and get the hell out of here. There’s nothing more that we can do. More and more heat sources are dropping like flies. We’re some of the very few left in this compound.” With how vital their crew was to the project, they couldn’t afford to lose another member.
Just in time, Cedric rounded the corner. As his greeting fell and he questioned what was going on, Sirens faze fell as his fists clenched. His body felt like it was boiling, and his mind was festering in a pit of confusion and rage. How could Ashimov have done this? If he was able to get himself out in time then why didn’t he help the rest of them? “I wish I knew, Ced.” Sirens voice was a hushed whisper. “I wish I knew.” Straightening up, the pyro let out a long and drawn out sigh as flames sparked and crackled from his breath. “Cmon, we don’t have much time.” With that said, he began leading the way and called back to Cedric. “Where’s Eden’s electric source coming from?” Once he got the answer he needed it was a full sprint to their destination. Along the way they ran into countless guards, to which Siren began pelting them all with huge blasts of hellfire over and over again. It was quite the spectacle seeing the purple flames rolling in mass projectiles as they incinerated their targets. It wouldn’t be good for him to keep this going but frankly Siren didn’t care at this point.
Eventually the three arrived to where Eden was. An amassed amount of corpses having been ripped to shreds littered the ground. “Looks like you’ve been keeping yourself busy.” Siren said rather blandly. Looking toward the shuttle bay he turned back to the others and shook his head. “It won’t be a good idea to take the shuttles at this point. They’ll just be able to track us down to where our we were taken and hunt us down from there.” Slinging off his backpack, Siren grabbed one of the few books he had in there. Flipping through the pages and eventually stumbled upon a picture of the Piazza San Marco in Italy. Holding up the picture for Fen to see, Siren have her an earnest look. “Do you think you’ll be able to transport us here?”
