Welcome one and all to the PGK labs! Here is where our story begins, so make preparation with your character as it’s gonna be a bumpy ride! It is currently the early morning for the facility, and all of the subjects should be beginning to wake up and start their day. Be it using any of the facilities available for training, or just hanging out with friends. For now it is just a simple day, that may or may not turn for the worst.

Siren Jaeger layed motionless in his bed, looking rather peaceful which would be a rare sight for most others. As his body lay at rest, his chest heaved up and down as he slightly snores in his slumber. There was a brief moment of silence followed by Siren startling awake with a soft gasp as he sat straight up in bed. It took the young man a short minute to gather his thoughts before he came back to reality and left yet another one of his night terrors behind him. It was the same thing over and over again. Blinding smoke, hard to breathe, the dead strewed about as one figure stood among them all. A large black behemoth with glowing red eyes and a demonic appearance. While the dream only seemed to last moments it always occupied his thoughts when he slept. Rubbing his eyes and looking over at the time on the wall he saw it was 5:36 in the morning. Normally he’d go back to sleep and enjoy another twenty four minutes of rest, but he found himself restless and instead got out of bed and dressed in some work out clothing. He wore a black sleeveless shirt that fit snug against his torso, a pair of gray shorts, and red running shoes.

As the electronic door to his room slid upwards, he peeked his head out making sure the coast was clear before sneaking out and did his best not to wake up the others. Taking an elevator down further into the facility he eventually made it to the training room which had every sort of thing imaginable from weight machines, treadmills, punching bags, and plenty of training dummy’s. Siren followed his usual routine of first walking over to the row of treadmills and hopping up on one of them before starting it up at a brisk jog. Once he felt his legs warmed up, the young man then boosted up the speed to as high as he could handle it and slipped into the flow of motion as he paced along on the treadmill.

For the two thousand, eight hundred and eighty-fifth night since she first arrived to the facility, Fen woke in a cold sweat. She had one single dream every night. It started and ended the same, with her on top of a blurred man's face and a crystal blade to his throat. The words "Please, don't. Please. I have a daughter just like you." always screamed in her head until she woke up crying. It was the only memory she had during her time with... them, but some times she couldn't tell if it was a memory or just a nightmare. The world was confusing.

Slowly sitting up, the peach blonde let out a puff of smoke. Her room was kept colder than the others in the facility. Thanks to her abilities she couldn't tolerate warmer temperatures very well. Some people even called her a snowman because of her restriction. Was it annoying? Being called a snowman wasn't, but feeling weak when there were warm rays directed towards her was. At least people knew who to call whenever she was out of control, however. Speaking of Mr. Hellfire, it was training day with him which meant one, or both, of them would be going to sleep with bruises later that day. "Wonderful..." Fen sighed defeatedly as she finally got up to get dressed and ready.

After putting on some long, elastic black pants and pairing a matching shirt, she slipped on some simple black tennis shoes. The door to her room opened with a quiet whoosh before shutting with the same sound. It'd been eight years and she still wasn't used to being at the facility. While she couldn't remember what her living situation was like in the past, she knew it wasn't as pleasant as the current. Fen was thankful nonetheless, and she was glad the Project rescued her when they did. Everyone knew what happened to adepts that were too far gone.

Fingers snug in her special gloves and hair tied into a high ponytail, Fen stealthily walked to the training room only to be surprised at who was already there. Siren was running on the treadmill and from the looks of it, he'd already been there a while. It was odd for the woman because she was normally the first one to start training. It was mainly to prevent others from getting caught in the crosshairs of her misfires. The last time that happened, well... it wasn't very pleasant for the other guy in the room. He may have almost lost a toe or two.

"You're here early," Fen said with slight surprise as she bent down to tie her laces, her voice echoing throughout the room due to the lack of people. She slowly began to jog the track that was around the training room, preferring to run naturally than on a treadmill. She always ended up teleporting when she used it and it wasn't fun for either parties involved. "How did you sleep?" She asked before laughing quietly. "Not that you're going to ask me, but I slept rather well."

It wasn't long before she finished her two miles, her breath warm yet frosty. The heat she'd built during the jog always left her a bit dizzy, so she sat down for a break and watched Siren continue with his own training. "Are we doing Judo again today?" The last time they'd trained was with Judo. Siren had her in a hold that clenched her throat somewhat, preventing her from breathing properly and leading her to slightly panic. They ended up teleporting and reappearing from the ceiling, Fen unhurt since she'd fallen onto Siren. It was safe to say that he was not amused.

“Beep”......”beep”....”beeep.” By the third alarm, Cedric had finally woken up. Laying in his bed for a minute, starring up at the ceiling, and thinking, “here goes another day.” He sat up and gathered himself for a minute. Doing a big stretch and a yawn, all the while little bits of electricity came out of him. “Guess it’s time to go train like always,” Cedric said as he saw the clock said 6:00 am. The others are probably already down there. With that, he slipped on some running shoes, sweats, and a tank top to head off to the training room.

As he entered the huge area, he notice that Fen and Siren were already there and seemed to be warmed up already. Only made sense as they liked to spare a lot. Cedric ignored them for a moment and headed to the track. This is how he got warmed up. A solid 10 mike run while juiced up electricity. He made it to the starting line, took a deep breathe, and let the electricity consume him. Sparks started coming off him. After he took that first step, all that was left was a yellow lightning.

After he finished his run, which still wasn’t in the time he wanted it to be, he headed over to the “shooting range” to work on his accuracy with his lightning blast. He still wanted to get to a point of having complete accuracy with hitting targets at a fast pace. He punched in the settings to the consol and waited as it counted down. “10, 9, 8..” Cedric took a deep breathe. “7, 6, 5...” he powered up his special gauntlets on his forearms to help control his powers through his hands in a more, direct shot. “4, 3, 2, 1....Go” Targets started to pop up left and right, up and down, all while Cedric fired off shot after shot.

Siren grunted in reply at the girl as she entered the training bay. By the time Fen had arrived, he was close to finishing up his run. As the time on the treadmill continued to count up to an hour, he kept his pace strong and dared to increase it to further push himself. “I’m not early, you’re just late.” It wasn’t uncommon for the blonde to be especially grumpy early in the morning. Once the timer finally struck sixty minutes, Siren slammed on the stop switch and let himself stand still slightly bent over with his hands on his knees. Gasping for air, he took a few deep breaths before his breathing normalized and he stood up straight.

Turning around, he saw that Fen was already on her way to getting warmed up. “You must think I’m a real asshole don’t you?” Siren grunted with a slight chuckle. “I slept fine as always, nothing new. I’m glad to hear you got some good rest though.” Although the last sentence was more endearing than usual, it was lacking positive emotion to the point that he sounded almost sarcastic.

Once again the door to the training room shifted open followed by Cedric entering the room to which Siren grinned at. “Morning there sleepyhead. It’s about time you joined us.” Not expecting an answer in return, Siren made his way over to where the bunching bags were stationed at. Bouncing and motioning in a stance around it, he began playfully hitting it slightly to warm his hands up to the contact before reigning in full blows and working on his combo set ups. Eventually he came to the point of kicking the back solidly with his lower right leg over and over and over again as he built up his anger and worked on controlling it. With one final kick, flames swarmed around his leg as he kicked in a full circle into and through the bag severing it in half. Property damage was one of the things that the people that worked at the facility hated most about Siren.

Approaching the now sitting Fen, he stood in front of her and folded his arms as he listened on to her questions. Shaking his head with a sheepish grin, the thought of their long fall from last time made him decide against it. Rubbing his still bruised back he finally spoke, “Nah, I think we’ll work on some more Mui Thai this time around. It’s not a grappling and hopefully you won’t panic as much. Besides, you’ve seemed to like the style more. We’ll work on some more Judo and ground work once I’m ready to give it another go with you.” Only Siren had known the true nature of their fall. After Fens accidental teleportation, he had quickly grabbed the girl and put himself under her as to take the fall. Luckily enough she was too terrified at that moment to remember it.

Eden had always been a light sleeper, and she always excelled at being able to function on the barest amounts of sleep. Going to bed at midnight, and waking up at 4 AM, Eden would be ready to take on the day. Her mornings usually started with rising from bed, and heading to either shower, or just change into a comfortable pairs of pants and shirt. Silently making sure her room was in order, Eden would begin to prep herself for the new day. She would check that her combat gear was in peak condition, no tears, stains, or frays in the material. While some thought it was stupid to wear a maids uniform into combat, Eden thought it was tool, just another weapon in her arsenal of infinite possibilities. She would then straighten her room, and leave, preparing to continue the day by 4:30.

With her usual check done and her room in order, Eden would walk through the silent halls of the compound, her feet silent across the floors. She made her way towards the one place she loved more than her own room in the compound, the kitchen. Sending greetings and good mornings to the other chefs, Eden would always prepare a special breakfast every morning for her teammates in whatever mission was assigned. This time, she knew what she was going to make, a classical all American breakfast. it would take an hour or so, but Eden could do it. Willing the ingredients into existence, Eden began her dance. Dry ingredients hear, wet ingredients there, eggs, meat, and bread, all made a symphony of scents as she cooked. The other chefs, used to Eden's routine, allowed the woman her space to work, knives and other cooking utensils flashing. With her work done, food hot and ready, and a table set, Eden would as she puts it 'rally the troops'.

In the hall, heading towards the training room, where she knew they would be, Eden cast a quick illusion, and changed her outfit to the usual maid outfit she wore, complete with headpiece. Along her inner thigh, he securely strapped three knives for convenient use in the case of 'emergencies'. Humming to herself, Eden dropped the illusion and walked onward to her destination. Hearing the sounds of fighting, sparring, and other physical activities, Eden walked through the sliding doors and came upon the sight of Cedric doing target practice, and Fen and Siren preparing to spar. Sighing to herself and bringing a palm up to rub her forehead, Eden readied herself.

"Breakfast is ready! And if you don't come and eat I'll have you scrub all the toilets in this facility!" Eden shouted as she tried to gain the attention of all present. If they didn't listen to her, well she would follow up on her promised and force the individuals who did not listen, to do as she said, with toothbrushes, their own toothbrushes. Turning and walking, Eden made her way back to the kitchen, brewed a cup of tea, sat in her usual seat, and blissfully hummed to herself.

"Hm... not an asshole, but maybe just grumpy 24/7?" Fen had joked playfully before getting up and doing some stretches. While she lacked some strength, she was extremely flexible and nimble when it came to the physical aspect of her body. The way she moved seemed physically impossible for normal people, considering she could walk with her hands while her legs were wrapped around her head. The woman could even do the splits on pillars with a never ending abyss beneath her, and she wouldn't flinch because she knew her flexibility wouldn't give out.

As Fen sat back down and continued watching her sparring partner exercise, she'd tried to make conversation every now and then. Of course, she was met with silence most of the time because Siren was the type to really focus on his workouts. It was practically impossible to tear him away once he gave his attention to something, and the punching bag he was currently using was a prime example. She watched in awe, hands under her chin and elbows on her thighs, as he hit the bag with both strength and speed, not failing to show his experience in each movement. His skills were probably unmatched when it came to Muay Thai and Judo, which was why she came to him for hand-to-hand combat. Even though she was more of an agility fighter, everyone on the team felt it was important that she at least learned to throw a few good kicks and punches.

It was then that another person joined who also happened to be her teammate. Cedric, Siren's close friend, was introduced to her by Siren when she first arrived. There were a few bumpy roads back then, but the two quickly realized they were quite alike in the personality regard. She eventually began to look up to him like an older brother of sorts, even going to him for advice that Siren or Eden wouldn't have been able to provide. Fen would've watched Cedric warm up, but that would've caused a major migraine. There were only a hand full of adepts whose eyes could keep up with his speed and she was not one of them. She only allowed the cool breeze he caused to appease her as he sped through the track, her hair whooshing with the wind. It wasn't long before he was done and went about his shooting business. The only thing Fen said to him was "Good morning" but she knew he didn't want to be there when she and Siren finally began to spar, so she left it at that.

When Siren was finally finished, he walked up to her with arms crossed and a sheepish grin. From his expression and words, she could tell he was thinking back on their last spar just as she had. Laughing awkwardly, she scratched her head and let out an embarrassed "Sorry" before standing. She walked towards the center mat, which was extra padded to avoid last times mishap, and it was like her easy-going nature had disappeared. Replaced by the mostly positive Fen, was someone ready to battle it out as if Siren was her only rival for the last piece of fish. As he approached her and made his first move, she easily ducked down, spun, and went for a fast high kick while using her flexibility and small stature to her advantage. Of course, Siren was one step ahead and as he was about to do something himself, a voice echoed throughout the room and sent a chill, an actual chill, down Fen's spine.

Lowering her fists and dropping her stance, Fen turned towards one of the entryways and saw Eden there. "Well... I'd rather not lose another toothbrush, so raincheck on today's session?" Before Siren could say anything, if he was going to, the woman disappeared like she wasn't even there in the first place. Instead of reappearing in the training room, she instead plopped onto one of the many cafeteria seats rooms away where a piping hot breakfast was waiting for her.

"Ahh," Fen began as she reached for a fork, Eden making her appearance in the cafeteria since Fen had beaten her by minutes, "I haven't had eggs in so long." The woman mused as she began piling food onto her plate, other people in the cafeteria wondering where it all went. There was practically a black hole in her stomach because she had the appetite of a hundred starving men.

Siren chuckled heartily, “Valid.” As the pair took to the mat, he looked looked down at his hands for a moment and clenched and unclenched them. Once he was ready, he got in the proper Mui Thai stance and once Fen had done the same he initiated the fight. Only a few blows were thrown before Eden came into the room announcing that’s breakfast was ready. Upon hearing of the food Siren pat his stomach almost as if to reassure it that it would be fed soon. “Yeah, heaven knows when she threatens us with a punishment she’ll deliver it ten fold.” Nodding his head to her, he smirked “Sure, we can continue this after breakfast if you’d like.”

With that all said, Siren followed Fen off the mat and looked over to Cedric. “Hey, Ced. You coming?” Once he’d made sure his friend was coming along with them, he continued on his way to the kitchen where he could already smell the food which didn’t not help his grumbling stomach. Inside the kitchen, Siren wasted no time in sitting down and piling his plate up high with a ton of food as to appease his morning appetite. Without a second thought he began shoveling the food into his mouth almost in a childish manner. It wasn’t long before his plate was empty and he was already going for a second plate full. “Thank you Eden for a good meal as always.” With that said, his gorging continued. There was no doubt in his mind that Edens cooking was the best he’d ever had, then again that could all damn well be an illusion. But for now he’d like to have faith in her.

Cedric stood there for a minute as the last target came up. He was breathing so heavily that the whole place could hear it most likely. He had worked up a good sweat and used a lot of energy. So, when he heard Siren yell back at him that food was ready, Cedric did not hesitate to and eat. He had to fuel back up. Using so much electricity takes a lot out of him. He looked towards the doorway where Fen and Siren were and yelled, “Yeah, I’m coming.”

As Cedric entered the kitchen, he grabbed a plate, bottle of water, and started to grab food to pile into his now empty stomach. Everything looked great. Eden always was great at making food. Was awesome that at least one of us knew how to cook really well. Cedric looked around and found Eden to say, “Thank you for the food as always, Eden,” with a small smile forming on the corners of his mouth. With that, Cedric started devouring the meal in front of him.

"That's another round to me Josh... you sure you wanna do this again?" Said Naoki as he took another pudding cup. Josh, a fire breather had just lost to him in another game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. They had been going at this for the past twenty minutes, Naoki kept winning. Thanks to his rather powerful luck, the rules of probability simply didn't apply to Naoki. Josh was a large dark skinned young man, he backed up his fire breath with skillful fisticuffs from his large hands. "Your powers can only go on for so long, Naoki!" Said Josh as he held out his hand to go again. Obliging him, Naoki met his paper with scissors. Then his rock was smothered by Naoki's paper. Finally his attempt to feint with a rock failed as Naoki sliced through his paper with scissors AGAIN. Josh had a stock of pudding cups from time helping Eden in the kitchen and with the younger kids. She was like a sister to him, like most everyone here. Of course Naoki's feelings for Eden were romantic in nature. However she made it very clear that she wouldn't even think about treating him any more than another test subject if he kept using his powers to take from others. Taking another pudding cup, Naoki placed a hand on his cheek and sighed. Then he saw Eden herself looking at the two of them...

As the group was enjoying their food, a small alert came up over the intercom system located throughout the entire lab complex. It was the voice of Ashimov. “All Adepts, there will be an emergency meeting in two hours. We won’t have much time to waste so punctuality is key. In the meantime, I ask that you all gather up your things. More will be explained later.” As the voice cut out, Siren set down his fork as his eyebrows furrowed together. “Pack put things? What’s he talking about? The Project isn’t supposed to be in motion for at least another year or so. We all still have training to do, and our powers aren’t even close to being fully mastered.” Shaking his head, he pushed his empty plate away and stood up from the table. “Thank you for the food Eden, it was quite lovely.” Siren left the kitchen seeming quite confused, and he was sure he wasn’t alone in it.

Arriving at his bedroom, Siren slowly began packing up what little possessions he had which was a few sets of clothing and a small assortment of books that he had been given as gifts throughout the years. He only kept his favorites knowing full well that they’d need to pack light if they were in fact leaving the compound for the first time. It wasn’t long before everything was in a small single strap back that easily slung across his shoulders. Setting the bag aside, Siren pulled out his Personal Data Pod. (PDP)

These devices were a way to receive information from one another as well as the leaders of the operation. They also functioned as a sort of iPod and could play downloaded music and movies. Another function they had was taking pictures. Their energy storage can be ran off solar and the charging time is quick, so once outside they wouldn’t have to worry about constantly finding an energy source.

Siren looked through the different files he had on his Pod before pulling up the messages and typing up something quick message for Fen. “If you still want to get some training in before the meeting, go ahead and meet me in the training room once you’ve packed up.” With that done, Siren left his room and returned downstairs to the training area where he resumed his practice with yet another punching bag.

With the arrival of Siren, Fen was already on her second plate of eggs and toast. She wasn't much of a sausage fan so that platter was basically untouched. As she watched her fellow teammate attack the food like she had, she heard a few snickers from afar. "There won't be any food left for the others at that rate," one of the kids had joked, to which Fen turned around with a stuff mouth, a bit of yoke dripping down the side of her lip. "At least we have a teammate that is an amazing cook. You guys always eat oatmeal." The woman fired back casually, cringing slightly at the thought of oatmeal. She absolutely hated the food. Every time they did simulator missions, oatmeal was always the one meal that was in abundance. It was way too plain and it also had a weird texture.

The others soon arrived, but their dining was cut much shorter compared to Siren and her's. The intercom cut on with a small ring, Ashimov's voice soon echoing throughout the entire facility. The peach blonde quickly swallowed what remained in her mouth before choking slightly. She took a few sips of water to ease the discomfort and finally let the director's voice sync in. Tilting her head with modest confusion, she thought to herself as she nodded in agreement with Siren. I wonder what's going on...

"Thank you for the food, Eden!" Fen said with gratitude as she removed herself from the table. "Delicious as always." While she could've teleported to begin packing, she chose to walk like the rest. It wouldn't do her any good to over exert herself if there was something important going on. When she reached she finally reached her bedroom after pushing through a crowd of curious kids, she packed a few of her clothes and anything else she deemed essential. It was then that she heard a quiet ding from her PDP and read Siren's message.

Not bothering to reply, she ended up teleporting right next to Siren as he was throwing some punches. "I'm here." Fen announced with a small smile.

As Cedric as there, finishing up what little food was left on his plate, he watched the rest of the group. Such a rag tag group of kids. Some similar in nature and some not so much. They were supposed to be a team, or at least, one day be one. It seemed a little farfetched at the moment though but he could see it maybe one day. The alarm broke the trance he was in as he listened to the messaged relayed.

After the message was over, he saw siren jump to his feet and storm off. “Wonder what got him all upset? It’s just a meeting. Probably nothing to worry about.” Cedric watched as Fen also got up and left just right after Siren. “Maybe they are walking together?” Cedric thought to himself. Following suit with the other two, Cedric stood and looked over towards Eden, “thank you for the food, Eden,” and left to his room.

Cedric got to his room and laid on the bed. He was still tired from the training he did this morning. He had two hours to kill from what the message said so, no need to rush packing. Wasn’t like he had a lot of personal stuff anyways. With that in mind, he shut his eyes for a bit.

Siren wasn’t at all surprised by Fen’s sudden appearance in the training room. It had taken some getting used to but finally he wasn’t so jumpy at sudden arrivals from her. In the past, especially when they were still smaller it would surprise him even to the point of frightening him. Jumping up and shreiking in that old prepubescent voice of his. Those were times he wouldn’t mind forgetting considering how much shit he got for it all.

Smirking at her he cracked his knuckles and stretched his neck a little before getting in his stance. “Ready to begin?” Once she gave the go ahead, Siren began circling around the mat with her. Observing her footing and looking for any mistakes in it, he was impressed to see that she had gotten the steps down quite well and didn’t have any problems. Time to test her reaction time. “Duck, dodge right, block twice.” Once his commands were given, he immediately swung into a heavy Lateral kick followed by a downward strike with his left leg and two straight punches. This same process would go on for quite some time with Siren giving her specific instructions and seeing how well Fen would react to them. “Relax, loosen your body up. It doesn’t do you any good to tense up and restrict your movement like that. Keep everything flowing freely.” More strikes and combos were given. Over the years of helping the girl out, Siren found she adapted very quickly to the art of fighting. She’s had her fair share of mishaps when she loses focus, but other than that she almost seemed used to this type of thing.

“Now let’s see your strikes. Remember the different counters I’ve taught you, and be sure to pay attention to the way your opponents body shifts. They’ll tell you what they’re going to do before they do it.” First off Siren charged head on with a body tackle expecting a reaction from her be it a dodge or a counter, and afterward he began striking at her with some initial simple hits but eventually stepped up his game and gave her some trickier movement.

Before the brawling began, Fen took a moment to stretch out her arms, legs, and neck. It wouldn't do her any good to cramp in the middle of a fight, especially if there was a fist going straight for her face and not being able to block it. It had happened before during the first couple weeks of her training. She was still young and lost all the fighting ability she had while being under mind control. The person she was training with actually made her nose bleed because her arm locked up. Fen shook the memory from her head, a look in her eyes that clearly said she wasn't going to go easy that day.

"Ready as I'll ever be," the girl replied, a similar smirk on her face as Siren's. They circled the mat a bit before she finally decided to attack first. It usually started out that way, with Siren playing offense and her playing offense. Siren's comments filled the interior of the training room as Fen continued to move with speed. Their fighting techniques were actually quite different, but that's what made them good training partners. While he was more of the brute strength type, she focused on quick but effective attacks since she wasn't as strong. It took a while to get used to differences, but their training somehow looked like a dance every time they got together.

About half way into the fight, Siren switched up his tactics which was fully expected. He always warmed into the more difficult stuff. Fen watched his feet and hands as he suddenly came charging at her. The woman quickly ducked and hurled her body at a forty-five degree angle before rolling and swiping her leg to trip the guy. Of course, Siren saw that a mile away.

Thirty minutes later, there were beads of sweat dripping down the sides of Fen's face. She fell backwards onto the mat, arms and legs spread out like a starfish. Her breath was deep and heavy as her chest heaved up and down. "I'm... so... TIRED." The woman panted, following with an almost painful laugh. Anyone in the training room then would've felt a slight drop in temperature as Fen's skin cooled. Even though she shouldn't, she often made her skin frost so her body would cool down quicker. The only problem was that she also cooled the area around her. It used to be worse, however. When she'd do it in the past, the radius was random but now she was capable of controlling that.

Once everything was coming to a close Siren himself was breathing quite heavily, sweat dripping from his head. Taking in a few deep breaths, he could tell in inner temperature was jacked up pretty high like it always was after a fight. It was always difficult for him to cool off, as his powers kept him extremely warm as it was. Looking down at Fen he couldn’t help but grin, as atleast he had a human freezer here to help him out. Nudging her gently with his foot, Siren then reached down and helped her up onto her feet. “Hey, do you mind helping me out here?” He asked as he took a few steps back and spread his arms out giving her the okay to blast him a little with her frost.

After everything was said and done, Siren checked the time on the wall to see that they didn’t have long before the meeting. “Well this was fun, but we’d better get a move on and get ready. Do you have everything packed up?” He asked her before walking over to a small vending machine and grabbing a bottle of water out of it and downing the whole thing.

Siren had asked Fen to help with his heat problem, which she knew was at least ten times worse than hers. Unlike her and her ice ability, he was fire. While she burned up like any normal human being, he went full steam room. With a small smile, she nodded and took a step closer to the man. She hesitantly took the glove off her right hand before placing it on his own. On any normal occasion, she'd never touch another person via skin-to-skin. Only the fire-based adepts were capable of handling her ability.

A few seconds passed and the glove was back on, her body much cooler and less exhausted. Her gaze followed Siren's to the large digital clock that hung on the wall, the lights flashing by like a neon sign. They had a little over an hour before it was time for the meeting, just enough time for the young woman to shower and take a short break. Taking a seat on one of the workout benches, she took a sip of water that instantly cooled upon her touch. "Agreed," Fen replied as her lips curled slightly, her legs rocking her to a standing position. "Besides a few small items, everything's packed."

Fen began walking towards the door as she continued to speak. "I'm going to go shower and take a quick break before the meeting. You might need to check up on Cedric before it's time by the way. He probably went back to sleep." With that she headed out the training room, greeting and nodding towards everyone she passed. Most of them seemed pleased to see her, but there was that small handful that were the opposite. A lot of people weren't that happy she was placed into the team she was in since she was with all the senior adepts, and because she also couldn't control her abilities as well. However, a lot of people also refused to understand that every person was needed and that only a pyro could handle a pagos like her.

As the bitter cold of Fens hand touched against his own, the pyro couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief as his body cooled off and the extreme heat within him subsided. Not only did her touch cool off his body, but it also was a way for his temper to cool off as well. It wasn’t that he was angry with her or anyone that he sparred, it was only a natural reaction to training as his mind seemed to be overly susceptible to stress and rage. Even if it was only over the most simple of things. Chuckling to himself as Fen took her hand away from him, Siren smiled ever so slightly. “The heaven for the pagos.”

“Good, do what you will but try not to be late to the meeting.” Siren teased as Fen turned to leave. Making sure that everything in the training facility was powered down, the young man left the room and headed straight for his room where he hurriedly stripped off his sweaty clothes and threw them into his laundry shoot. The rooms that the adepts were able to stay in had their own showers which allowed for more privacy than having public one. As Siren stepped into his own, he turned on the water and increased its temperature as high as it would go. To others it would feel like boiling water being dumped all over them, but to Siren it felt lukewarm at best. As the water ran all over him, he fell into a sort of trance as he thought about all that could possibly happen here shortly.

Eventually he came back to his senses and finished washing up before shutting off the water and grabbing himself a towel. After a quick dry off, the towel followed the clothes into the laundry shoot and Siren quickly dressed in the clothes he had left himself to wear for today. A red short sleeve shirt that actually hung loose on him with a hood at the back, a pair of black pants, and one of his favorite anonymous gifts from not too long ago. A pair of black, red, and white converse shoes. The gift had been simply left outside his rooms doors so he had no idea who to thank for them.

Looking himself over in the mirror, he ruffled up his thick blonde hair before pushing it out of his face. Deciding that he atleast looked presentable for the day, Siren quickly left his room and headed right next door to Cedric’s room. Pounding on the door, Siren eventually let himself inside after no response. “Jeez you really are a tired man today aren’t you?” He stopped at the foot of Ceds bed before kicking him slightly with his right foot. “Wake up ya jackass, the meetings coming up here in a little bit and you still have got to get packed.”

Cedric awoke suddenly and abruptly to someone kicking him, “What the hell…oh, it’s just you Siren. Why are you in my room?” Cedric said with half awoken eyes. Siren said why he was in the room and Cedric woke up a bit more. He had thought he set an alarm to wake him soon, guess he had forgot. “Alright, I’m up. I will get packed and head to the meeting room,” said Cedric as he waved Siren to run along without him.

Cedric arose and threw on his normal attire. Jeans, black and white sneakers, white collared shirt, and his black jacket with gold trimming on it. He filled up a bag full of other clothes and some gear to help take care of his gauntlets in case something happens to them, other than that, Cedric really didn’t have much. He didn’t see the need to keep much besides his tools. Having packed up everything, Cedric gave one final look around the room before heading out the door.

As he walked down the wall ways to the meeting room, it looked as if he would arrive with about 10 mins to spare. Putting in his ear buds, he played music the rest of his walk, and trying to enjoy whatever peace he had left of the day.

After arriving to her bedroom, Fen immediately hopped into the shower. It was automatically configured to the temperature she liked which was at 90 degrees Fahrenheit. That was over 10 degrees lower than the average temperature that most people preferred, simply because she liked it that way. Of course, she could hand warm to warmer water, but it didn't feel as great as when it was below lukewarm. With it being cooler than normal, that also prevented any steam from building up in her bathroom, which she severely hated. Anytime she was in a steam room, she felt like she couldn't breath.

A decent thirty minutes passed before she finally stepped out from under the water, immediately reaching for a towel. Fen slipped on a pair of black shorts, off-white knee-length socks, and some black combat boots. She dug through her closet for a while until she finally found the top she wanted to wear: a dark beige with a gray tint, long-sleeved shirt. Slipping it on over her tank top, she quickly tucked the shirt into her shorts and put on a black belt for extra support.

Satisfied with her appearance, the young woman put on her gloves and exited her bedroom after taking a short break. Her hair was still damp from the shower, especially since she didn't like to blow dry it. Because of that, however, one could see the tips of her peach blonde hair frosting slightly. That usually went away after her hair dried, but it tended to be a sight for people that weren't familiar with her. She just looked like a crazy ice lady form afar.

When she entered the meeting room, it was already crowded with young adepts of all ages. Due to her short stature, Fen had to force herself towards the front where she could see better. It wasn't a fun experience as many people weren't to keen on having someone push them aside, but no one really fussed about it. Finally closer to the front, she let out a sigh of relief and checked her watch. There were still ten minutes left until the meeting actually began.

Eden sighed as Fen, Cedric, Naoki, and Siren all dug in to the food that she had prepared. They did show their gratitude with their thanks, but even then, Eden could not dismiss the utter lack of table manners for some people. Fen was a monster when it came to food, her black hole of a stomach just absorbed food. Everyone else, they didn't even have the thought to clean up after themselves. Finishing her tea, and standing from her seat, Eden started to disappear and reappear around the room, plates within her hands. She was using her ability to seemingly teleport around the room. In reality, she was just bending spacial distance to decrease the distance between the kitchen and the cafeteria. Once all the plates were in the sink, and the cafeteria spotless, Eden clapped her hands.

With her work done in the cafeteria, Eden made her way to get some training done of her own. Entering the room, Eden went to the targets, where moving targets ran around. Summoning a trio of knives to each hand, Eden began to throw them with expert precision. Knives would hit the targets in the bulls eye with a solid thunk sound. Once Eden confirmed the hits, the knives would fade as if never there. Wiping the singular bead of sweat off her brow, Eden would receive the notification fro the meeting.

Turning and exiting the training room, Eden began her walk to the meeting room. Her face was set calmly as she walked, nothing really causing a reaction. Once there, Eden used her ability to disappear from view. Finding a rather comfortable postilion to stand in, Eden settled behind Fen and waited as well for the speaker.

Siren took his time making it over to the meeting. For some reason he was dreading it all, as something didn’t feel quite right. He couldn’t put his finger on it, and hell knows he was probably just being paranoid as always. Eventually, the blonde arrive at the meeting room where all the other Adepts had met up as well. They all looked as confused as he did, so it was good to know he wasn’t the only one that found this meeting strange. Siren trusted Ashimov with his life, but this was so unlike him to just randomly exercise a meeting like this. Normally there was planning days even weeks beforehand so that everyone might know about it and work with it. ‘Whatever’ he thought to himself, ‘I’m sure everything will be okay.’ With that finalized, Siren took a seat close to the back alone.

Eventually, after a short time of waiting Ashimov finally appeared on stage. His long almost electric looking gray hair flowing behind him. The man was of course a non adept, which wasn’t to say much as he could still damn well hold his own in a fight against even the strongest of the adepts in the facility. Wearing his usual combat uniform, he stepped up to the stand before clearing his throat, an almost worried and grieved expression on his face. “Adepts, I appreciate your cooperation over the past many years. You have all developed so well and increased your powers to a high capacity that has prepared you for your mission. I am proud to have met with every single one of you. You are all so very strong and gifted.” He looked down for a moment before meeting the crowds gaze once again. “But it is time for final goodbyes. Project God Killer is a go. It is much earlier than anticipated yes but with good reason. I’m afraid our operation has been compromised, and you are all no longer safe here. I’m not sure how much time you have, but an evacuation must take place immediately.” Many gaps erupted throughout the room, and Siren himself was baffled. “He’s speaking as if we’re the only ones in danger here.” It was then that he realized there was no security or other caretakers in the compound at this time. The room only had adepts, and Ashimov. “All squads will be separated to take on their own missions, and from here on out you are left to your own devices. The data pods you carry with you function as your own personal bank account so money is not an issue. But I implore you to take a low profile, as if you are spotted we cannot help you.” Ashimov saluted the crowd with a clenched right fist over the left of his chest. “Godspeed adepts.” As soon as his last words were spoken, Ashimov faded away almost like dust. He had been merely a hologram, meaning that he was already evacuated and in safety.

Siren felt abandoned, betrayed, and suddenly very very fearful for all the adepts here. And his fears were not unfounded. As he adepts all left to return to their rooms and grab their bags, a loud crash followed by an earsplitting explosion erupted throughout the facility. In an instant, armed soldiers and special operatives came barreling through the facility. There was no warning or anything at all, only the suddenly firing of gunshots throughout the facility. Everyone that was seen was killed on sight.

Siren had arrived at his room when it happened, and just when he had slipped his bag over his shoulders the shockwave of the explosion knocked him over. Panic erupted through his mind, “Shit!” Getting back onto his feet, Siren ran out the door and was met with a horror to his very eyes. Blood stained the walls and the floor as well as the amassed amount of corpses of the dead adepts. The intruders were everywhere, and soon Siren found himself on the defensive using his hellfire to protect himself from the oncoming barrage of bullets. Once he had an opening, he channeled all of his newfound rage and frustration into his ability and discharged a huge wave of the purple flames which evicerated everything in its path. His path now clear, Siren ran along looking for his team. “Fen! Cedric! Eden! Naoki! Where are you?!” As he called out he stopped in his tracks and looked down upon the floor. Naoki has fallen victim to these bastards. A frozen look of terror was still on his face and his eyes were wide open. Kneeling down and running his hand down Naokis eyelids, Siren shut his eyes and bid his friend farewell. It seems his luck had finally run out.

Eden listened intently to the director of the program. She knew that the project was going to deploy sooner than later, but to have it this soon? it was almost unthinkable, unfathomable, for Eden. She had always known the director to be a man of patient planning, a man to never rush in to thinks he didn't understand. That's why Project God Killer was such a long program for Adepts to go throw. When he had announced the operation had been compromised, Eden clenched a fist. She could already hear the shouts of war ringing through the halls from where she stood behind Fen. Watching the director disappear, Eden felt rage burning inside her. Summoning a knife, Eden threw it where the director stood. The knife, flying with so much force, cracked the ground where he once stood. "You bastard!" she grit out through clenched teeth.

Eden saw Siren run back to his room; she only hoped that he would make it. Grabbing Fen, Eden created a simple glove that enhanced her own strength and busted through a wall, shattering it like wet paper. "Alright Fen... here's the deal. Find Siren, Naoki, and Cedric. We need to leave. Now go!" Throwing Fen away from her, Eden created a shield that blocked the hail of bullets that rained from behind them. Growling behind a mask of calmness, Eden summoned two hellhouds, having them go and eviscerate the soldiers who would dare harm anyone she cared about.

The hellhounds jumped, bounded, and sprinted through the halls, creating a path for Eden to walk through. Anyone lucky enough to escape the jaws of the hounds, soon found fates of sword stabs, gunshots, and even a guillotine. Eden was working overdrive, summoning creatures, weapons, and defensive items, she calmly walked through the halls, silently mourning every lost Adept she had passed. She recognized the pained and agonized faces of those who couldn't escape, those who weren't lucky. Within her rage, Eden unleashed a beast, horrific and terrifically. Just a black mass of smoke, the beast invaded the target's airways, before violently ripping the target apart. No one could hide from it, no one could escape it. It would kill them. Finding one of the exits, Eden set up to defend it, killing anyone who came in, and protecting all the Adepts trying to escape.

It all happened too quickly. Fen stood there motionless as she listened to Ashimov speak and she could have sworn her heart stopped for a brief moment. The facility was compromised, but how? The children lost contact with the outside world as soon as they joined the project, which meant someone on the staff must’ve leaked information. The thought of that sent an angry chill down the woman’s spine, her skin already beginning to frost over. She continued to listen to the director with the best of her abilities, glancing at Eden with a worried look. It was times like that when she wondered what her teammate was thinking.

Suddenly, Ashimov’s hologram flickered off and the projector was immediately destroyed. Loud banging, yelling, and the thud if heavy boots filled the compound as Fen began to frantically look around. She knew where Eden was, but where were Siren, Cedric, and Naomi? Panic not only flooded her body then, but it also flooded the body of those around her. Everyone was running and screaming, bullets flying and bodies dropping as if they weren’t just alive. It wasn’t until Eden told her to look for their friends before she snapped out of the twisted trance she was in. As she was running down the halls, blood splattered along the walls and even across her. It finally sunk in. People she grew up with were actually dying.

Stressed, panicked, shocked, and filled with rage, the frost that covered her body soon turned to ice. It was like crystal armor was forming around her as she ran, the ice growing back every time a bullet hit it. Of course, Fen was feeling incredibly weak from so many emotions overflowing her, but she couldn’t stop searching. The woman teleported clumsily from one place to another, transporting the smaller Adepts as she went. She vaguely remembered a spot she saw before entering the facility, although she did immediately pass out afterwards that day. The children she gathered ended up there as she teleported.

“Siren?” Fen called, her voice drowned by the gunshots and screams. “Cedric?” She continued. “Naoki?” Her mind was becoming foggy, the area around automatically freezing as she wobbled by. A soldier had lunged himself at her, but she easily overtook him with her fighting ability. His gun was kicked away and as he reached for it, Fen ended up creating a large ice shard and stabbing his hand into the ground. The man’s blood curdling cry filled the hall, but he quickly went silent as ice enveloped him.

Panting, the peach blonde clumsily got onto her feet and continued heading to god knows where. Her ice armor was beginning to crumble off as she had grown considerably weak from teleporting so many people. That didn’t stop her from trying to get to the place quicker. Fen would teleport every few yards, only to hit a wall in the process or even a person. Her mind was so blurry, but her soldier body told her to keep going. She’d even thought to grab her belongings somehow, having teleported to her room during the chaos.

The coolness around her seemed to subside as she felt a tremendous wave of heat, the warmth tingling her frosted face. She kept teleporting towards it and was relieved when she saw who it was. “Siren!” Fen cried as she teleported closer, her foot stumbling over a body. When she looked down, she felt her body grow even colder as she recognized whose bloodied face it was. Naoki

Her eyes could have appeared black as she looked up with only death on her face. Fen’s small body shook as she raised her hand towards the line of soldiers heading their way, freezing everything down that hallway. The attack came with a price, however, as the last bit of her ice armor fell off. Fen fell backwards against the wall, warm liquid dripping down her nose and staining her shirt. “Need.. to find... Cedric,” she panted as she covered her nose. “Eden is... waiting for us. I can only teleport once more with everyone... I got too many people out earlier.” Fen was breathing hard and her voice kept cracking, but she hoped Siren understood her enough.

Cedric had entered the meeting room from a different door than the others. He noticed Siren, Fen, and Eden on the other side of the room listening to the Director give his speech. As Cedric half listened to what he was saying, only to really catch the part about Project God Killer being a go. “I thought we had another year still…” Cedric said under his breathe. Just as quick as the meeting started, it was over. The Director disappeared and that was it. Cedric got up to walk out the door thinking, “Well, that was a waste of ti…” “BOOM!” As the doors opened for Cedric, a huge explosion came from his back from the meeting room. The blast propelling him forward causing him to hit his head on the wall in front of him and blacking out.

As he awoke moments later, his vision was blurring and he was hearing all these screams and gunshots. He struggled to get to his feet, using the wall to help support him as he regained his balance. While doing this, four soldiers came around the corner and pointed there weapons straight at him. “GET DOWN ON THE GROUND, NOW!” One of the shouted at Cedric. Cedric was still in a daze and didn’t understand. As it looked like the soldier was going to repeat himself, a young boy adept came running around the corner smacking into the soldiers. Panic over took the boy’s face as if he knew who the soldiers were. The soldier the boy ran into turned to face him. Pulling out his sidearm only to aim it at the boy. Cedric’s vision started to come back and he watched on as the guard fired at the boy. Cedric’s eyes widen. His brain finally kicked back into gear. His gauntlets activated and electricity started to course through him. Random arks of lightning would whip off of him and strike somewhere. His eyes turned fully yellow. One of the soldiers yelled, “OPEN FIRE!” All four rattled off bullets towards Cedric. After a few minutes of constant gunfire, the soldiers were empty. The all four looked on in fear as the bullets were stopped midair in front of Cedric by an electric field. Cedric tilted his head and said, “you can have these back now.” Flipping his hand towards the soldiers, he sent all the bullets flying back at them. They hit the ground after that. No longer moving. Cedric turned away from them and calmed himself some. Less electricity was coming off of him now and his eyes went back to normal. “Got to find the other,” said Cedric. Cedric closed his eyes and focused. A few years back, he had discovered that each person he grew to know and care about gave off a different color electrical field that he could see and find if he focused enough. As he slowed his breathing down and focused, he starter to see all the electricity running through the compound. All the wires and monitors, everything using electricity lite up for him. In all the mess though, he made out two colors. A dark red outline and a white outline. “Siren and Fen are together. I will get to them first then find the others.” With that, Cedric’s feet started radiating electricity and he was off. Moving fast through the corridors and hallways.

Flying around the final corner, Cedric slowed down and approached his friends. “Siren, Fen. Glad you two are ok…” his voice trailed off as he saw Naoki dead on the ground. “Fuck. What is going on here guys?”
