Fantasy Project Anima

"fine.." was all she said to the prince as she watched him go past her and bump into Arty. she shrugged as she moved to the desk to get the key. when she had acquired it she walked past the two saying nothing and just went to her room and closed the door behind her. After locking it she walked to the bed in the room then to the window. she still had a hour or two before she had to start her little side job so she just decided to sit in the window and watch the sun go down.

After Crimson had went to her room, Arty elbowed Gills on the ribs. Again. "Oow! Why you keep doing that, my dear little sister!?!? you trying to kill me?!?"

The princess just sighed and gave him a hopeless look. "Why you keep doing that, big brother...you just never change. Well, that's what make you so endearing," she giggled before going upstairs as well.

"...I just CAN'T understand women...!" Gills shook his head.

She was only trying to be friendly with him and even felt for the first time like a normal person as she held on to his arm...at least for the second before he started to freak out on her. she sighed sadly as she watched the rest of the sun fall down behind the hills, she would leave soon to do her side job perhaps she can have a little fun with the man she will be killing. she took out her dagger and loved it against the wood of the windows opening. "I will have to take the girl out first" she mumbled to herself as she messed with the wood wile she waited, for the right time to go.

Right after dusk, Lucus, the one who hired crimson on killing his auditor, was waiting in the bar he'd met her earlier. He had told his co-conspirator about the plan, and the clerks had little by little emptied the building with various reasons. Even the guards had been persuaded to leave their posts for a while, mainly by inviting them for free drinks. Crimson would have three to four hours at best to finish her target. Now all that Lucus can do was waiting for her to finish the job.

On the second floor of the office hall, where he stayed in the guest room, Andrew Maes was reading pages of parchments containing tax payments documented through the years in this city state. He had ordered his servant to fetch him tea, seeing that the other people in the building had went out, presumably to get drunk. He scoffed at the idea. Such ridiculous display of laziness. He would have to report this later. He wiped his glasses for a bit before continuing his work.

Crimson stood looking up at the building then silently went in, she had decided to take out the servant first so maybe she could have a little fun with the man. moving through the shadows she made her way up to the second floor and seen her walking down the hall with a tray of tea. she smirked then made her way behind her and put her dagger to the girls throat. "make a sound and you will die a slow painful death" she said then started to move her back into a room, were she put the dagger through the front of her neck. sighing she looked at her work and picked up the try after setting a knife by her hand making it look like a suicide.

walking to her targets room she knocked on the door lightly as she held his tray of tea in the other, she would have to make this ether look like a murder suicide if she didn't want the town to go into a fit. she knocked again as she waited for him to answer.

Maes was still writing his report when he heard the knocking on the door. Was it tea? That took a while. He was about to open it when he noticed his empty ink bottle had fallen to the floor. Sighing, he picked it up and placed it on the edge of the window. Then he proceeded to the door.

Rather than opening it, though, he asked through the door. "Who is that? How can I help you?"

"your tea" she said quietly mimicking the girls voice, it was slightly annoying how he did not open the door...yet that would make things to easy. she smiled to her self as she looked at the door and waited for him to open it sadly though if he did not she was going to ether have to go though the window or break the door down, but then her plan would be ruined.

Maes didn't open the door yet. For a while, he stood there doing nothing but seemingly entering a deep thought. For a slight moment, he glanced at the window. Then back to the door. After deliberating it a bit further, he decided to open the door slowly, then walked back as the door opened up. It was when he could finally see the figure clearly that he understood the source of his anxiety. This was not his servant! "What...who are you?!?"

seeing the door start to move she put on her cutest smile she could master. "im just here to give you your tea it seams your servant was a little.... busy and asked me to give this to you" she said softly then walked in closing the door behind her. after locking it she walked to his desk and set the try on the table, then turned to him still smiling.

Maes couldn't read this stranger's expression. She was smiling, but he sensed danger. Was it his instinct? His instinct was screaming for him to run, but he know it was futile. The moment he showed his back, she would...

"I ask you again, who are you? This building belongs to the city, and only officials may enter the second floor. You clearly are not a clerk here. Who...what are you? What did you do to my servant?"

He screamed. "Guards! Guards! Where are you? Come here! Guards...?"

But nobody came...

she pouted a bit as she moved closer to him then smirked as she got up in his face quickly. "whats wrong you dont want to be alone with me?" she placed her hand gently on his cheek. "come now do you really think I would let anyone come near you as im having my fun?" his voice was full of fear even if he did not know it and it sent shivers through her. "do I not look like a women to you" she moved her finger to tip his glasses up a bit.

Slowly the man came to realization that the building was empty saves for himself. Was this planned? The woman had closed the distance between them in an instant, showing that she's an experienced fighter, and touched his cheek. I see...is this betrayal from the clerks...

"...tell me one thing, woman," Maes said coldly, "who hired you? No, wait...if you can't tell me who, at least tell me why. Why did someone hired you to do...whatever you're going to do to me. I can tell immediately that you are clearly NOT coming her for my pleasure."

She gave him a small smile "so many men are afraid of death now that they start to do things that seam drastic but" she pushed him on a chair and sat on his lap. "it just gives people like me something fun to do" she hummed as she stroked his cheek. she bent down to his ear and smiled "and your right this is not for your pleasure...but it will satisfy my hunger for a bit of blood" as she said this she took out her dagger and ran it lightly up his chest.

The man called Andrew Maes gulped. The bloodthirst coming from this woman was obvious. It was enchanting, and at the same time making his primitive side of the brain screamed out of fear. A duality which he found beautiful in itself. The sensation of her breath whispering on his ears roused him, and he could feel the cold steel of her dagger getting near...

"That's enough. Riz, if you may,"

Right when he finished his words, a small figure broke through the ceiling and shoved her arm right between Maes's chest and Crimson's dagger. There was a loud clang of metal meeting metal, and then with a swing of her arm she pushed Crimson away from Maes.

It was the servant girl from before, but she was no longer clothed in simple dress. Her outfit was a tight black sleeveless shirt and pants, allowing her flexible movements. On her arms were gold-colored metal gauntlets, decorated with intricate carvings. Her gaze was still the same. Cold, calculating, and at the same time showing the same bloodlust as Crimson's.

"Get away from my liege," she remarked.

Crimson really was only slightly surprised when she was pushed back and with a this sudden twist she sighed happily. "I was in such a bad mood im so glad this has turned out to be a harder job" she smiled at them then tipped her head a bit. "im sure I killed you though" this servant girl seemed much like the others she had seen like herself yet different. she shook her head and giggled "come now lets dance so I can continue to have my fun with your master" she moved her dagger up as she smiled happily.

The petite girl snorted proudly when she was mentioned as being killed. "Hum, hum. Illu..." Before she could finish her words, though, Maes put his hand in front of her face, interrupting her speech.

"Let me ask you again, stranger. Who hired you? Was it the clerk? Or...was it the Kingdom of Lapant?" He said while fixing the position of his glasses.

She looked at her then sighed as she shook her head. "i was tricked by a small girl...im losing my touch" she then laughed at his questions. "come now why would I answer any of your questions when you will be dead by the time the night is over" she was probibly in way to good of mood right now as she looked at them still giggling. "can I say I found you interesting and wanted you?"she tipped her head and smiled at him "or if I say the kingdom of Lapant would you tell me why they would higher me?"

Maes chuckled after hearing her answers. Typical of her kind. Clearly she was an assassin, or something similar to that. Well, no matter. "As you are clearly trying to kill us...then that means you can't complain if anything happened to you, right?"

"Riz. Go," he commanded, by which the petite girl gave a slight nod and quickly leapt forward, closing the distance between her and Crimson. Mid-air, the mechanism on her gauntlet shifted and sharp blade popped out at the front. Not waiting for Crimson to react, she thrusted her right fist toward her chest.

she could only smile seeing the girl come at her then the blade being thrusted to her chest. she backed up then let the blade do its magic as she turned to shadow as she went to block it quickly. "your right even if something did happen to me i would not complaine" she giggled as she jumped back from them. "it would come as a relief to know I could still be seriously harmed or perhaps even killed" she smiled thinking of it, she was one of the strange ones that loved the fight with both getting harmed.

The girl, Riz, was surprised when her target suddenly turned into shadow-like being, rendering her blade useless as it pierced through nothing but empty air. When Crimson turned back to block the attack, she jumped back as well, maintaining a safe distance between the two.

"...That's not Magic. What did you just do?!?" Maes remarked. The man was staring intensely at the fight, but more so upon seeing Crimson's power. "You're not a typical assassin...are you? Surely killing a mere auditor is just a waste of time? I can pay you more if gold is the issue."

"But. My liege..." Riz was about to complain, but Maes stopped her.

"Leave us. You have no chance to win. I'll give you twice...thrice of what you'll get from this job."

she sat on the desk as she shifted back and looked at him with a slightly blood thirsty sexual smile . "I have no chance to win you say?" she was interested on what he meant by that more then his gold. she giggled "its almost funny that you offer more to me for this when i am only getting paid a little under half what i normally charge" she said as she swung her legs a bit, she had been given a first job and she would only do that one....for the moment anyway.

Maes sighed again. This was that kind of person, eh? "I kind of understand your type. The ones who only take the job for the 'worthy fight'. I don't hate it personally, but...it's such a hassle to me, you know?" He fixed his glasses again, a habitual actions he always took when he started thinking. "Well, your power is strange, that I can attest to. But I am certainly familiar to it. It's not Magic, right? Then what could it be? A power which can change how this world works, but not leaving any trace of Magic manipulation..."

"Animus. Artifact." Riz spelled the words slowly, coldly, her glare didn't leave Crimson's dagger even for a slight second. A smile was formed on Maes' lips.

"If it is indeed that, then it should not be nigh impossible to defeat. There is always a way. And now that I have known that you hold that weapon of immense power, I'm afraid that it would be better for the sake of peace that you are taken down. Right here, right now."

He started to chant a string of Old Tongue, and Magic circle appeared on his feet. The definition of a Mage. Their power and right to invoke the Circle of Manipulation to change and bend the world's rules at will. Unlike simple spells which can be performed without the appearance of the Circle, this could only means that this person has a high Magic affinity.

"Riz. Fight. Wants." the girl spoke again. Slowly. Coldly.

The man called Maes gave her a nod. "I approve it. Go fight to your fullest."

Upon hearing that, the girl punched his gauntlets together, forming a ringing sound which echoed through the room. "...Scatter." At the same time, more of the girl suddenly appeared around Crimson, their blades readied at will. Three, Four, Five...six 'clones' surrounded her in all direction while three more appeared in the air, falling down with their blades pointing at her. In one single, simultaneous movement, they pierced the blades together, once more aiming toward Crimson's chest.

she watched them closely as the man started to chant. "why must it always be the same" she looked at the clones and sighed, this didnt feel right, so she need to play it safe. "Lanuae Magicae Umbra" she mumbled as she gripped her blade turning her into the shadow as she moved beside the man. she moved her blade to his throat. "I want you not her what is her deal anyway?"she said moving the blade closer to his throat. her body showed she was calm as her voice remained the sexual blood lust she had earlier.

The same thing as before happened again. Even when the clone's blades pierced through her body, she just made herself into shadow and walked away unharmed. And then, that teleportation magic...without knowing beforehand that she could do that, Maes couldn't prevent it from happening. In an instant, the assassin was right beside him, her weapon getting closer to his throat. Yet then man stood firm, if not to the point of ignorance. He gave her a slight glance, then returned to his chant.

"Riz," he called calmly.

Before the blade could move any further, the petite girl punched her gauntlets together once more, and in the space between Maes and Crimson another clone of hers appeared in an instant, blocking the assassin's blade. When she moved the gauntlets apart, the Riz standing in front of Maes, as well as the other Riz failing their attack beforehand, disappeared in a poof of smoke, leaving only the one now blocking Crimson's way.

"Do not. Run away," Riz said. Slowly. Coldly.

"Is this your first time fighting a fellow Animus wielder, assassin?" Maes spoke calmly. "Those gauntlets are her Animus Artifact, the Schatten Ritter. They allowed her to create perfect illusion double wherever she wanted it to be."

Right after saying that, he stopped chanting. Then he raised his right hand, opening the palm toward Crimson. "It seems that your Animus allowed you to phase through weapons...but how about this?" The Magic circle below him expanded, taking along the space on Riz's feet, and then another circle appeared on the air. From the circle spewed out jets of flame in form of spear, twisting and turning while bursting forth toward Crimson.

Watching every thing unfold Crimson couldn't find a way to counter tack him or This magic so all she couslreally doge. Moving out of the way from most her still got burnt in places, but this only made her want to see them bleed more. She laughed at there attempts, but knew she was at a disadvantage
