Private RP

He watches her facial expressions closely, trying to pick out what was going on in the woman's head, often curious over such things. "Other ways? Such as what, or are you going to leave me hanging?" he says with a joking smile, though he honestly wanted to find out. "How is life for you, so far? Pursue any dreams? Have a bucket list?" he asks.

(Sorry for the lack of response today. As soon as I got done with my homework, my internet went out. >.<)

“I do… odd jobs.” That was certainly one way of putting it, she thought. It had been a long time since she had had a normal conversation like this, as normal of a conversation one could have with a ghost that is, and it had been years since someone had asked about her well being. She wasn’t sure if she was grateful for the ghost’s thoughtfulness or if she hated how much he was prying. She didn’t want to get into details about these ‘odd jobs’, nor did she really want to divulge her life story to this ghost. “I’m Ruruko, by the way. Or Ruru, for short…” She started, hoping to distract the ghost from his current line of questions.

(Oh, that's not cool, internet. But it's okay, I understand! :) )

"Ruruko? Nice name. I never really liked abbreviating things, so can I call you by that name instead of 'Ruru'?" he asks with a smile. "Odd jobs? Like what?" he asks the woman, looking over her face to see if he's going too far. "You don't have to tell me, nevermind. What are your interests?" the man asks, hoping to not get too personal too soon, or to hurt the woman's feelings.

"Ruruko's fine..." She muttered, ignoring the question about her other jobs. She thought about how to answer his other question though. "I don't have any interests," She admitted. "I haven't the time for them."

"Well, you know what they say." he says lightly, pausing to think for a moment. "All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy, right?" the man says with a smile. "I haven't really used expressions like that in a while. Correct me if I'm ever wrong. Also, you seem a little... tense. Never talked with a ghost before?" he asks, holding his hands up slightly like he'd seen people do in movies or pictures when surprised.

"Oh, I've talked to ghosts... Too many ghosts... No offence." She added, glancing at the ghost before her. "You're one to be lecturing me on living, Mr. Ghost." She says teasingly. "And just what are you doing with your hands anyway?" She asks, raising an eyebrow when she notices his strange hand gesture.

"Ah, nothing." he says and drops his hands. "I found that when I have a conversation, I can be active with my hands, to keep them stimulated. That doesn't sound like a decent explanation..." he says thoughtfully. "And my name is Marcus, not Mr.Ghost." he says with a smile. "And how can you talk to too many ghosts? Well, ghosts that don't only want something to benefit them. For someone who was still alive, talking to a ghost would be incredible! You get to ask about death, their history, what happens after death, et cetera."

Ruruko scowls at this. "I've seen ghosts ever since I was born. It was hard to explain to people, and no one ever believed me. I was the strange one that all the other kids avoided and who they would gossip about. I was fine with this for a while, since I had the ghosts to keep me company. But like you said, all we would talk about was their life up until their death, and that kind of stuff can really mess with a kid's head, especially when you see the deformed ghosts whose form stayed as it was at the time of their death... Lots of mangled samurai and decapitated priests where I'm from. At first these ghosts would respect my powers because I was only a child, but as soon as I got older, they all wanted me to help them aid them in their crossing into the next life. From what I understand of it, ghosts are just stuck in limbo, because of unresolved issues that still tie them to the world of the living. At first I tried to help these spirits, but I wasn't powerful enough. My sister though, she was a real pro at it. She said that I could do it too and that she would help to teach me, but I saw how it wore her down, and I wanted no part of it. So I stick with using my powers to aid the living and not the dead, even if the business is slow." She takes a breath as she concludes. She hadn't meant to rant like that, but she and her sister would have similar discussions and arguments about the topic. "Sorry about that, Marcus."

He listens to every word, nodding along to show that he was paying attention. "Don't be sorry, it doesn't offend me to hear opinions and all. That sounds... really rough. I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that." he says respectively. "Have you met anyone else who does what you do legitimately, whose not in your bloodline?" he asks curiously.

(My internet not just gave me trouble yesterday, the entire service went out to the entire school, so again, I apologize for not responding yesterday. T^T Also, I only realized this yesterday, but your character is a WWII soldier, and my character is from Japan, I just thought it was kind of a coincidence. )

"My sister... We're not actually related by blood. We were foster kids. She was in that household before I arrived, so even when I tried to hide my powers, she figured it out pretty quickly. After that we were really close, up until a few years ago. Besides her I've never met anyone else with our powers. Then again, I never really went out of my way to introduce myself to other mediums... I would go and visit some to see, but they were always fakes. I guess I just assumed afterwards that there was no one else."
