Private RP (GinjaGen & MissEffy)

"Well... What do you advise us doing now?" Telah asked, at a complete loss. He had no ideas as to how he was going to continue his mission, barring breaking through the master's spells, which he doubted would make a good impression, and he sincerely doubted he could do anyway. He looked at his two companions, hoping they had an idea. The only other thing he could think of was wandering the land searching for a cause, and he'd really prefer not doing that, at least not alone.

Aviva looked sad, hearing Brom's words. "I'm sorry..." She could tell Brom was annoyed by her questions, and wished she could fix it. She hated being a cause of others discomfort. She also wished she could help Herbert, whatever was wrong with him. Dejectedly she flew back over towards Telah, but being out of it, she landed on the princess's shoulder.

Anastas ran a finger under Aviva's chin, she liked the sprite. Aviva had spunk and had more life than most humans she knew. "Well, I could always take you to the place where it all started. Technically there were wards to keep me out of the place, but I broke them a few weeks ago." She shrugged. The princess had never been one to do what she was told.

"Do you ever do what you're told, Anastas?" Brom sounded annoyed. Anytime Anastas did something wrong, he was always the one that got in trouble. His father would never do more than scold him, but it didn't change the fact that HE was the one that got in trouble.

"If I did as I was told all the time I would have withered away and died. I'm too pretty to wither away and die." She winked at her half-brother, smiling at the look of pure annoyance on his handsome face. "Oh lighten up! We get to go into the forest and you can talk to the plants or whatever you do when you go into the forest..."

"I don't talk to plants, Ana!" Brom hissed.

"Right, right. And I'm not well versed in dark magic." She tapped her nose as if to say 'you're secret is safe with me.'

Brom groaned, taking Herbert off his head and stuffing him into his pocket. "You are incredible, and that is NOT a compliment!"

"I am rather wonderful, aren't I?"

Aviva's face lifted as she felt the princess's touch, confused as to why Telah would be touching her. It wasn't that he didn't interact with her, it was more that in his culture, physical touch wasn't as common, so the idea of him interacting with her in that way wasn't in his mind at all. She was embarrassed for a few moments, not having realized she had landed on the princess's shoulder, but she realized the princess seemed ok with her being there, so Aviva simply smiled as stayed put as the group discussed their next move.

"The place where it started?" Telah asked, frowning. "That would definitely be helpful. If you tell me where it is, I can go by myself so that the two of you do not risk becoming infected." Telah said, already planning the charms he might use to protect himself while in the area of potential infection. He wondered what kind of information he could find there, or if he might even possibly be able to discover something that could lead to the true origin of the sickness.

Brom laughed at Telah. The Drow actually believed that Anastas would let him go by himself. He had a lot to learn if he was going to stick by the princess' side. "You clearly misunderstood her. You won't be going there without her or the rat." He jerked his head towards Cuchulain; Anastas didn't go anywhere without him. Then again, he didn't go anywhere without Herbert. That was mostly because Herbert wasn't the brightest fairy in the field, or in this case, the castle. The princess shrugged, conceding that Brom had made a good point.

"I don't hate to admit it, but he's right. The people in this town aren't very friendly towards strangers. You're life will be easier if you're seen with me. I am a princess after all." Anastas winked, flipping her hair. She wasn't conceded, but it was always fun to pretend she was. "OH! we can also stop by the lake."

"Oh, dear gods." Brom let his head fall back. He knew what that meant.

Telah looked a bit surprised. "You're coming with me. Isn't that dangerous for you? I wouldn't want either of you to become infected because of me." As he spoke these words, however, he realized that there was nothing he could do to stop the princess from going with him. The princess had also made a good point about the strangers in the town. They hadn't been so kind to him when he was coming in to the city to begin with. He had been very happy he didn't look particularly like a Drow at that moment.

"I realize I cannot stop you from accompanying me, however, I would like to make it clear that I intend to protect you to the best of my abilities. Your lives are important, while mine is not, so please refrain from doing things that will bring you harm." Telah finally conceded to letting the princess come, but he would not be the reason the kingdom would not have an heir.

"What's at the lake?" Aviva asked, curious about the other twos' reactions.

It was Anastas' turn to roll her eyes. Everyone assumed that because she was a princess, she was fragile or needed protection. That most definitely was not the case; not for this princess. "I do not need protecting. I am not fragile." Annoyance tinged her voice, two large black snakes slithering from the palms of her hands. "I am proficient in all forms of magic. Meet my favorite weapons." The snakes slithered across the floor, making their way towards Telah. They were docile until Anastas issued and order of attack.

"For the love of gods, put those things away!" Cuchulain hissed. The familiar was not fond of the snakes, they could easily swallow him whole.

"I'm with the cat, Ana. Put them away. Dark magic is frowned upon." Brom raised a brow as he stared at the snakes. Anastas didn't normally show off like that.

Telah frowned, watching the snakes. While dark magic was also frowned upon in his culture, it was not the first time he had seen it, and, like with all magic, he was more interested than worried. "I did not mean to insult you princess, I merely wished for your safety. The illness appears to be spread through magic, and you are important, and obviously powerful, so I did not want you become infected-"

Aviva shook her head at him, motioning for him to stop, and he went quiet, realizing his backpedaling wouldn't work very well and that it was a better idea to just be quiet and let the princess do what she wanted. "Shall we be off?" He asked, looking back up with a smile, and then turning towards the door.

Aviva turned to the princess. "so, what about a lake? Is there a lake nearby? I love lakes." she grinned.

Anastas stood, walking past her brother and Telah. She had resumed her icy demeanor from earlier, it was the way she must carry herself in public. The people had to see that she was not fragile, but cold and ruthless; they had to know that she could protect them if the time for that arose. She prayed that it never did. The merry band of misfits exited the castle, odd looks being cast in Telah's direction. Who was this stranger, and why did the princess grace his presence? They bowed to their princess, rejoicing in her presence. Anastas merely nodded in their direction, raising a slender hand here and there to those she knew intimately.

Brom lightly plucked Aviva off Anastas' shoulder, placing her in his hood as gently as possible. "Sorry, but you can't be seen in public; especially not with my sister. The people that live here fear and hate people with magical abilities. A familiar, like yourself and Herbert, are a dead give away that someone is magical." He looked ahead as he spoke, his lips barely moving. Children that dared get to close to Anastas were quickly moved out of the way, pushed to the side with minimal effort. "To answer you question on the lake, it's one of Anastas' favorite spots. It's where she practices her magic. I'm assuming she wants to show off for your friend. I'm not sure why, though."

Telah, was yet again amazed by the princess's ability to transform herself in different company. She was quite a fascinating specimen of the human race. As they walked through the crowds Telah also noticed the looks he was getting. He was not enjoying the stares. They reminded him of whenever other groups of Drows arrived at his city and saw him. Every time that happened he was reminded that even in the culture he was raised in, he was technically an outsider. He pushed the thoughts away and tried to focus on the mission, but he couldn't wait to get out of the city.

"Ah, I'll stay hidden then!" Aviva said, joining Herbert in his hair. It was odd to be hiding in anyone but Telah's coat, and Aviva still wanted to try to talk to Herbert, but she knew it would have to wait for later."Telah loves looking at different types of magic, and learning something new would be great!" Aviva said in response to Brom's comment. "Can you do any magic? I thought the princess mentioned talking to animals?"
