If you're interested message me. Think of this as a sort of starter I suppose. I would like your first post to cover the 3 events covered in my post so we have a full starter.))
"Hey!" The little girl called, snow ball in hand. As the young Prince, (y/c/n), turned around he was promptly met with a ball of cold snow to the face, this hit wasn't hard though he fell for the slightly younger girl's entertainment. She giggled and smiled before one of the castle's guards came over, chuckling at the two as the Prince clumsily got to his feet in the snow that lay in the garden in the safety of the castle walls. "Alright you two," he laughed softly. "Play time is over for now." The little girl sighed though took her father's hand willingly. The man smiled and kneeled down to her level, kissing her hands before turning and bowing to the Prince. He got up slowly, carefully patting the girl's back. "Go on," he told her, "tell the Prince goodbye, Nina." The little girl stared at him a moment before looking up at her father as he stood in his guard uniform, waiting. "But, Papa..." She said innocently. "I don't want to bow for (y/c/n)." She told him before looking toward the Young Prince. Nina sighed and approached a bit closer to the Prince before slowly kneeling down, bowing as a guard would and as her father had, on one knee, bent over slightly with her head down, her fist over her heart and her free hand in the snow. She slowly got back up, snow now covering her little knees. "Good girl..." She was told gently as they turned to start away. "Head back inside, (y/c/n), it's cold. Your mother wouldn't want you to come down ill, would she?" He told the prince in a fatherly way, despite having no relation to the royal family aside from his duties as guard, and a very good one at that. One of the best.
About 10 years later, sixteen year old Nina stood near the prince and his family to wave her father off as he went out on what, no one had mentioned to Nina, was a dangerous mission. It wasn't usual that a guard would stand so close to the royal family to wave someone off like that, though Nina was their youngest and already one of their best assets. Nina waved happily. "Bye, Papa!" She called before he disappeared into the mist of morning and the gates were closed. Nina and the royal family separated, the king and queen taking their precious prince inside and Nina went back to the group of guard waiting by the wall for her. They too chose not to tell her the danger her father was facing.
Nearly a week later with no word from Nina's father, the royal family received a letter and a body. Nina's father had died on his mission, murdered by the very men he was sent to kill.
At the funeral, Nina did not cry. She did not say goodbye, simply stood in the line of other guards while the royal family stood to the other side of the casket. Each guard took their turn kneeling before the coffin before going to the royal family and bowing to them. "I'm sorry for you loss." They would tell them as was customary anytime a guard was lost. Nina slowly walked over to take her turn, kneeling slowly before the casket before standing and walking over to the family and bowing as she had to them many times before. "I'm sorry for you loss..." She said softly before standing up and, instead of going to stand in the forming line of guards, left the room. Something sparked in Nina that day. Whether that had been a warrior or a monster it was hard to tell, but she began to train like an animal. Some night the prince could wake up and hear her ruthless beating and train, some night it's was just cried of grief.
~2 years later~
Knock knock. There was a soft tap of the prince's door early one summer morning. "(Y/c/n)," his mother, the queen, called sweetly. "Time to get up. We have much to do before you meet your bride." She called sweetly. It was odd for the prince's mother to wake him anymore though this was a special occasion. The prince had been promised to a princess and tonight would be the night they met at a ball the two families had organized.
Meanwhile, Nina was busy in the stable. She still talked to the prince sometimes though it always seemed a bit more...stiff. She didn't mind much. It wasn't her job to be his friend anymore. It was her job, along with countless other royal guards, to keep he and his family safe. As she finished brushing the horse off she smiled, getting him a bit more hat before leaving the stables and making her way back to the castle. She went in through the kitchen, grabbing a piece of bread as she entered the nervously busy room. "Nina..." An older woman scolded. "I haven't had breakfast." Nina said through a mouthful of bread. The woman sighed and chuckled, shaking her head. "Classy, Nina..." She sighed. "Well at the very least tell us how it is." She told her. The woman had an Irish sounding dialect when she spoke. "Heavenly!" Nina reassured her through the mouthful as she backed out of the kitchen, bumping her back into someone.
((I was planning on the Prince getting kidnapped just before or during the ball so the main bulk of the Roleplay is their journey back home. Possibly they decide not to go back? We'll see))
((Ignore the flowers in her hair. The outfit is her uniform as a guard))
