I apologize if you've already addressed this somewhere and I missed it, but when will our story begin in relation to arriving on the planet?
I really try to run rps so people a truly getting to rp their characters and the world from their perspective. Like major events/plots I request to have run past me just to make sure it doesn’t mess up others or anything like that but smaller plots y’all are all good to figure out for yourselves and I heavily encourage it. This is a world for all of our characters to try to navigate and survive in. If your character goes off on their own and runs into a carno then that happens and we can always plot how help might arrive or if the carno follows the character back to the settlement. Anything that would affect multiple characters should of course always be run past the group so everyone has a chance to say if they wanna be part of it or work out something else for their characters to be doing at the time. I hope all of this make sense and answers your question
It has been heck’n busy but overall great! The latest episode of my favorite show had my heart in a headlock though so still emotionally recovering from that. How are you?

So that is something I wanted to discuss with all of you actually! We are flexible with how we begin so we could begin the rp with everyone either settling in or waking up from cryo a month out from the planet and get a few posts of characters interacting together to get a vibe for who your characters might bond/have beef with in the month between waking and arriving at the planet. This would just allow for some initial characters getting to know each other situations. Basically whether we rp it or not there is a month prior to cryo that will have happened in which all characters are on the ship and awake, then a month after cryo before reaching the planet in which everyone is awake. Or we can skip anything on the ship all together, discuss relationships between characters that might have formed in the plot chat or private chats, and have the rp start with them descending to the planet for the first time. However y’all wanna do it but I do want to hear everyone’s preference. Please respect each others choices and stuff and (not that I think it will happen) but don’t try and bully people into seeing your way. You all seem wonderful so far so I don’t think that will be an issue but I just wanna say it.Hey everyone! Been super jazzed about this RP! I've been out of the forum RP scene for a long time but have been craving it badly. Spent a lot of time looking around before I picked a couple to join. I started doing forum RP when I was like 11 or 12 and did lots of it up into my early twenties so this is like coming back home for me!

All in all good, but I was quite annoyed earlier, haha. Mostly because we got like 4 inches of snow overnight, which caused the entire infrastructure of public transport to collapse, so when I was going home my train was 15 minutes late and I have 10 minutes to change from the train to the bus. I get to the train station and the train stops at 11:51, the exact moment the bus is supposed to leave and I still see it there. I walk over, super happy that I didn’t miss it, when it just started driving off and I was stuck outside in below freezing temperatures while it was even a bit windy for 30 minutes
Ooh awesome! Thanks! I think with her asthma, either part of the medical team or therapists would work well, though out of the two I don’t prefer one over the other… but maybe part of the medical team, because we need more characters there? What do you think?

Yup definitely not. But it was also partially my own fault because my brain didn’t think it was important to bring gloves with me today. Soooo yeah. Luckily it wasn’t too far below freezing

I'm going on ~26 years of roleplaying online, myself. Most of that has been group roleplay stuff. I had been absent from this site for a lil bit, trying out Discord but.... well, Discord is generally quite terrible for what their RP servers offer nowadays. So, I'm here again and ready to get back into it.
yeah, i already wrote in my character to not even get out of stasis until they are planet-side. So if everyone wants to start RPing on the ship, I'm fine waiting it out until y'all actually get to the planetThat said, I acknowledge that some may find it less interesting to RP a bunch of people who are stuck on a ship for a month, some of whom will feel like they have nothing to do during that time, and that starting planet-side might be more engaging for players that wouldn't have a very active role on the ship.
If we do go that route though... Well, I'm not really sure how to approach my character's relations and opinions of the others without doing at least a little RP exploring.

that having relationships develop naturally is more enjoyable in the long run. However, I also think "opening credits - boots on the ground" is a very cool and exciting beginning.

FIRST OF ALL I WILL WEAR THAT TITLE WITH PRIDE!!!! Secondly, this sounds like a great post to me! It kinda allows for basically four (am I mathing right? four?) pre-landing posts to vibe check characters (two before cryo, two after cryo) then we hit the ground running on the planet. Do others like this idea too? Not too much or too little in my mind but I would love to hear the opinions of the peopleWhat if we did a scene or two of the time before cryo and then another scene or two after cryo? Things like a big dinner party for all the colonists, scenes of training, a short moment before everyone goes into cryo then waking up, and finally preparing for landfall in the minutes before arriving. Sort of a flash-cut prologue?
Then "chapter 1" or whatever begins. Thoughts everyone?
