Well this was a nice change of events. Having a mission with April and Fate . . . oh and Novus tagged along but he was cool too. Plus, despite Clay and Benji's protests, they were Power Rangers, they fought evil. In the absence of other superheroes, they couldn't pull the "we have bigger fish to fry" argument. If people could fight smaller supernatural threats, they wouldn't need the Sentinels. To fight the big threats, you've got to fight the little ones. Little did he know how correct he was in that.

April pointed out the hissing and he did hear it. He too though jumped back and into a fighting stance when the General's of the Legion emerged from their abyss.

"Who you calling ugly?! You're no Hathor yourself, Harlot of the Nile!" Dylan said in April's defense and barely noted her insult to him. Fate handily introduced the sorceress but Dylan at least could tell her Egyptian origins by her looks. At Avlazor's eyeball threat, Dylan also had a respond. "In the words of soldiers whom probably bested you in the past, molon labe!" Dylan quoted Leonidas at the battle of Thermopylae.

Nenet nearly spat, laughing at the fooled Sentinels and their beloved mentor figures. "Precious. Fate deeming herself warrior-worthy? In all my years of knowing you, you've only been the one to sit in the back ranks while your precious Sentinels did the dirty work for you. You and that aggravating fairy," she'd called out to Novus and Fate. She stroked the top of Avlazor's head as if he were her pet, her fingers wicked and oddly shaped.
"The Eye of the Serpent shall be ours," Nenet announced. She laughed at Dylan's insult. "Harlot of the Nile? How marvelous. A young man with a soul long-trapped away in the age of the Pharaoh. Allow me to free your soul!" She shouted, implying a quick and painless death for him.

April bravely stepped up. "Leave them alone!" She defended her friends, her fists slightly shaking. Maybe going against two generals is a bit....creepy?
Nenet laughed. "Foolish girl. Get out of my way, already!" Nenet extended her arm out, chanting a quick spell and unleashing a massive dark crescent attack towards April. April gasped and jumped to the side, the crescent going straight for Dylan, Fate and Novus. "Watch out, guys!" She called to them, but it was to late. The attack hit the ground in front of them all, sparks going up around them, a shock wave propelling the three of them off their feet. April glanced back at the three of them, eyes wide, returning a scowl at Nenet. Nenet summoned a weapon to strengthen her magic, a fan ax.
"Precious. Riddle me this, Ranger. What hisses like a snake and belongs to me?" Nenet asked April. "Why the Eye of the Serpent!" She said, glancing out at the lake. Nenet began to chant something dark and mysterious at the lake, summoning the Eye to come to her. April gasped again and ran for her, tackling Nenet from the side, still unmorphed. She shoved back, whipping her hands up and throwing a punch at the general. Nenet laughed and caught her fist. "So tough," she joked and flung April's arm back, kicking her in the stomach and sending an unmorphed April flying into the waters of the lake. She splashed down into the cold water, surfacing with her head above water, gasping for air. She swam to shore, but it was too late.

"Avlazor, deal with them," Nenet commanded him, sending him over to the other three pests. "And just to ensure they don't put up a fight," Nenet said, firing another magical blast towards Novus, Fate and Dylan. This blast would likely...alter them if it hit anyone who would take the blast for their comrades. Not for the better....(cue Mar for Novus, cue)
Nenet, while April swam back to shore after being kicked, chanted one last word at the lake. As her magical chants proved effective, a small, yellow round gemstone flew out from the lake right under the bridge, glowing and hissing like a snake. The Eye of the Serpent was hers! The hissing filled the night air, as well as sounds of..sorrow? Nenet held it up to the sky. "Ah! The Eye is mine! But...what's this? It's tainted! Well, I can't have that, now can I?" Nenet then focused her power into the gem, making it float in the air, swiping the fan ax to cast out whatever tainted the Eye. And out from the gem appeared...a demon. A demonic creature truly worthy of nightmares. A demon, it's skin yellow with and scale...two heads on its neck. Warped faces, almost human if not for the menacing glares and claws. April swam to shore and saw the monster. "Oh God...it can't be...are those the two fishermen? Of course...they died in the lake under the bridge...where the Eye was. Their spirits were trapped there all along!" April said, solving the mystery of the bridge. It's true! All true!
"Yes. And now their souls are one, demonic and lethal. Now, Fishermen Spirits, destroy them! You serve me, now!" Nenet said, naming the monster...well, Fishermen Spirits. Really? FS, for short. FS nodded, somehow bound to Nenet through magic. It then turned toward April as she rose from the water, wet and cold, gazing on her as Avlazor would go to the downed allies. "We need the other Rangers!" April shouted to Fate if she could somehow summon them all.

Nenet, Fishermen Spirit demon, and Avlazor...all of this for a damn gemstone? Must be worth something big to the Legion.

Fate scoffed as Nenet told them she and Novus were the ones to just sit back. Hah! Although the Sentinels did do most of the fighting, who trained them? They did. Who aided the very first Sentinels in sending the cat and the lizard to the abyss with their evil master? They did. Novus and Fate might not be as much of fighters as Nenet and Avlazor were, but they could stand their own in a fight. But Nenet was fast. Her attack hit Fate, Novus, and Dylan before the three of them even had the chance to do anything! They were blasted off their feet, Novus and Fate landing in an awkward pile on the ground together. This had happened before. More times than they could count. Right after knocking them off their feet, Nenet summoned her weapon. She was damn serious about getting her claws on that gemstone. Well, not if they could do anything about it! They ahd to get it back, and quickly. If it was of such great importance the Legion, they had to ensure they didn't get it.

Novus leaped up as April was knocked into the cold water. He had to help her! Before the ghosties would draw her to the cold depths. Oh no, wait, wrong monster. Ghosties usually didn't do that. Usually. His eyes caught the magical blast coming their way. He quickly glanced from April to Dylan and Fate and back. He couldn't be in two places at the same time... Dylan and Fate were still on the ground, and April was... swimming. He jumped in front of the blast, quickly casting a spell that would protect the three of them from the worst harm. But... he was a split second too slow to finish casting. The spell faltered, Novus yelped and was once again sent flying back. However... he never landed on the ground. Flutter. Flutter. "Wait what the..." Novus glanced at his allies. Why was everything and everyone so tall all of a sudden? No, wait another moment... they hadn't grown... he shrunk. Flutter, flutter. And he had wings. He looked over his shoulder to see a pair of shimmering wings growing out of his back, light blue with a hint of violet in color. "Oh not AGAIN," he whined. That damn cat's attack caused him to lose his shapeshifting ability, reverting him back to his true form. That of a fairy, only about one foot high. So much for the human form. He briefly tugged on his hair, equally blue in color, and huffed. He was still a master of the Arcane Arts, but... well, a 1 foot tall fairy was less impressive than a full sized human. At least he didn't lose all of his magical powers, thankfully! But until this curse would somehow come undone, he'd be stuck in this form. Again.

"Novus!" Fate called out, but this time not to scold her friend. For a moment she feared the worst, but seeing the results made her only slightly shake her head. This happened just about every time Vorkalth rose. Just... this time it happened relatively quickly. That's what you get when it's the Time of Prophecy and the villains have reached their strongest starting point. Which was exactly why they had to get the Eye back. She nodded as April called out for the other rangers. Fate raised her hands beside her and closed her eyes for a moment, channeling her Essencia. Nenet thought she wasn't a fighter? She'd show that stupid cat what true Arcane Mastery looks like! With a thought, she focused on the Coven and the three rangers still present. Then, with the same thought, she pulled them right to their location. "The fight is on," she said to nobody in particular. "Rangers, you deal with Avlazor. Novus, get back to the Coven before you're squished. I'll help April deal with Nenet." So apparently when Fate gets serious, she starts giving legit orders to everyone around her. She turned into her giant owl form to escape from the battle with Avlazor, flying over to April, Nenet, and the monster created by trapped souls. She was determined to get the Eye back, and lay some hurt on Nenet too, if given the chance.

"But..." Novus protested.
"No buts. Except for your butt. Back in the Coven. Now."
---
The one moment, Erin is with the guys at the Coven, looking at the battle taking a turn for the worse with both generals showing up, a demonic monster walking out of the lake, and.... Novus getting turned into a small fairy instead of the young man they had gotten to know. Hah, interesting. She was just about to make a smart comment or two when suddenly she felt something tugging on her. The next moment, all surroundings flash past her and then she's outside. Fresh air was good, and much needed, but... Hey, look at that, they were at the lake with everyone else. How did Fate just do that? Just how strong was this sorceress? Damn. Also... it seemed like everyone owed April an apology once this was all over. There was something living in the lake, a ghost. Monster. And it smelled as awful as it looked.
"Well guys, you heard her, let's do this," Erin said, gripping her Charm and nodding at the others. "Essencia Awaken!" In the dark of the night, the energy swirling around her seemed to be only brighter. "Scorching Fire! Red Sentinel Ranger!"
---
Vorkalth watched the battle unfold from his throne in the Underworld. "Excellent," he said, tapping his fingers together. "Soon, everything shall be ready for our plans," he laughed to himself before turning his attention back to the Scrying Glass. Things were looking good. The fairy was down, or at least he wouldn't be as much of a bother anymore. The sorceress was mingling herself in the battle and everyone could only hope she'd get herself killed soon enough. As for the Rangers... Well... with the Eye of the Serpent in their possession, they wouldn't stand a chance! Speaking of which.... hmmm....

Avlazor laughed at the puny do-gooders for putting on a tough act. Compared to him and Nenet, they didn't stand the slightest of chances! He laughed when Nenet attack and left the magical people on their butts. Serves them right! The Eye of the Serpent is rightfully the property of the Legion. If Avlazor's friends want it, Avlazor's friends will get it! Because that's how Avlazor rolls!
Stupid White Sentinel tried to be tough and fight, only to be tossed into water. "Sentinel all washed up!" Avlazor said. Ayeeeee humor! He laughed at April as she found herself submerged and swimming in the lake. Speaking of the lake, that hissing sound...it almost sounded like Avlazor! Being a Basilisk and all.
Out flew the shiny gem! "Good Nenet, good!" he praised her for obtaining the gem. He nodded as Nenet told him to deal with the other pests in their way, wielding the ax around big and heavy. He'd crush the other Sentinel and the...what's this? Avlazor threw himself into a fit of laughter. "Fairy is a fairy again! Tiny! Easier for Avlazor to crush!" He said, pointing out Novus being turned back into a tiny fairy! This would be easy!
---
Funny...one minute, Benji and Clay are at the Coven with Erin, the next they're just beamed to where all of the action is. Literally, lots of action going on. Something was practically pulling them...magic of some kind, clearly.
They found themselves at the side of Fate just when she began barking orders, really stepping up for a change. Dang. And...holy crap what is that thing? A two-headed monster...spirits? Shit, April was right...there really were ghosts in the lake! And now they're tainted into a monster! A demon! "We got here at the weirdest time," Benji said, Clay nodding.
"Yep, and--....wait why is Novus a tiny little Barbie Doll?" Clay asked everyone...seriously, why is he...a fairy? Literally a fairy now...hmm. Clay knelt down to Dylan and helped him up. "Y'alright buddy?" He asked before following Erin into morphing.
"Essencia Awaken!" Both men shouted, green and brown magic swirling them in their elements.
"Solid Earth! brown Sentinel Ranger!"
"Sprouting Nature! Green Sentinel Ranger!"

Avlazor laughed. He and the new monster got to deal with Rangers, Nenet got the owl, all would be fun!

Dylan rushed forward to help but was blasted back by Nenet's spell, along with Novus and Fate. He hit the ground and rolled, aching from the blast and impact upon the dirt.
"Precious. Riddle me this, Ranger. What hisses like a snake and belongs to me?" Nenet asked April. "Why the Eye of the Serpent!"

"That . . . was a terrible . . . riddle." He groaned sticking a finger up in the air. It seemed the biggest comedy came from Dylan when he was on his back . . . wait a minute . . .

Before Dylan could do anything Novus protected him and Fate from a second spell by Nenet but that reduced Novus to his true form. Dylan had had just about enough of being on the receiving end of this fight. He ran down to the bank, jumped into the air, and morphed mid-leap. "Essencia Awaken!" He cried as his gem flashed and the water from the stream shot up into the air to encapsulate him. As the bubble burst, the Blue Ranger emerged and landed on the surface of the water. Indeed the surface, Dylan was now standing on the liquid as if it was a solid. He gave Deluvian a silent thank you and apologized to Jesus for stealing His miracle but promised his penance would be spent in the fight against evil, starting now.

Dylan summoned his Sentinel staff and charged at Avlazor. Of course his staff strikes did pretty much nothing to the warrior, either being blocked or just ineffective against his armor, but they meant he wasn't paying attention to April. Dylan dodged a counter and turned his head back toward the bank.

"April! Are you all right?" He called back to her. "You better morph. We're going to need you as well as the others." He added to her point of needed the others.

"Novus!" April called out to the fairy as he'd been blasted and...changed? Into a literal fairy...barely a foot tall. "Oh my God...Novus is adorable..." She thought aloud, hands on her cheeks, forgetting how cold and shivering wet she was from the lake. Being drenched in water at night wasn't fun...especially when there's a breeze! Cue more shivering!
Fate had rushed to her side just as the other Rangers all arrived by magic. Good timing, too, things were about to get wild! "Glad you guys are here," she said to everybody, nodding at Dylan as he asked if she was alright.

Nenet laughed as Fate readied for battle. "Ha! You must not be all in the head, witch," she said to Fate. Really? This old witch wants to fight? Bring it. The Eye is the property of the Legion now anyway, might as well have fun.
April ran to Fate's side and put her arm out in front of her. "Hold on, Fate. I've got this," she said a bit unsure, but not about to let Nenet win. This was about more than just freeing the Fishermen Spirits, this was about April making her mark in the fight against the Legion, showing she's more than the pretty face with moderate aim.
She tightly gripped her charm as it dripped water form her neck. "Essencia Awaken!" She called with wind swirling around her body.
"Soaring Wind! White Sentinel Ranger!" The white Ranger stood beside Fate, ready and willing. She took out the Sentinel Staff in wand mode. "C'mon!" She beckoned to Nenet.
"My pleasure," the sphinx replied and charged at April. Nenet twirled the fan ax as if it weighed nearly a pound, clashing with the wand in April's hand and slashing across her chest, sparks flying. Nenet then swung it at Fate, kicking and punching in the mix of things toward the owl woman to put her in her place.

Fishermen Spirits, the tainted yellow two-headed monster, charged for Erin. The ghoul simply waved its arms around, clearly lost and confused. The monster was evil, but only because of the foul magic of the gem...these were two trapped souls in one body! They had to be freed! Freed by kicking the crap out them, sadly.
The ghoul punched Erin directly in the stomach repeatedly, swatting her back like a fly. The monster then fired two energy blasts of pure darkness from his eyes at each male Ranger regardless of whom they fought. It eye April and Fate, making its way over, just fighting whatever was in sight. April noticed the monster running for her and Fate. She tried getting up, but Nenet knocked her back down while dealing with Fate. Crap...someone help?

Novus grudgingly listened to Fate's previous command and left for the Coven again, before any random humans passing by might see him, or before he would get squashed by Avlazor. He cursed to himself as he went back. This happened every single time Vorkalth came back. Usually at some later point down the road, but in this form he was largely rendered useless. He had his magic and knowledge, but this form... it was no fighting form. Best head to safety, deal with the magic and mythological stuff in their hideout, watch the battle, and hope nobody died or got badly injured. But he definitely was going to have a word with the Sentinels when they got back there as well. Novus most certainly wasn't adorable. And he wasn't a Barbie Doll, whatever that may be. It sounded awful, pink and glittery. Not all fairies were glitter, you know?!

"Look who's talking," Fate spat back at Nenet. "I hadn't expected Vorkalth to let out his pets on their own." She glanced at April as she ran to her side and tried to protect her. Truly the mother of the group. Fate could see why Ainya had chosen to bond with her. But Fate didn't need much protecting. Neither of these Sentinels had seen her in battle yet, and even for Nenet it must have been many centuries ago since they last had a face-off like this. Though she got kicked and punched, she merely stumbled back, managing to retain her balance. April was on the ground, and needed someone to keep Nenet off her back until any of the other rangers managed to get to her side. Two generals and a demon might just bee too much for these new heroes. Fate reached out her hands, similar as how she had pulled the Rangers all to the lake before. Only now she pulled something else out of the air. Wisps of pure Essencia flowed through the air, dancing around her arms and hands. Her usual kind expression melted away, turning into an ice cold glare. Quite literally. The Essencia formed into icy blasts which Fate slung towards the sphinx. "Don't anyone ever underestimate me," she said, ready to put the cat in her place.

Over at Erin's end of the battle, things weren't going all that great. The smelly fish-ghost/demon somehow really had a grudge against her, it seemed. It was sad there were two souls trapped in there due to an evil gem, but geez, this thing sure packed a punch. More punches. In her stomach. Yeah, she was going to feel this for some days to come. She felt so weak and insignificant when she was simply swatted aside, landing hard on the ground. Erin rolled around in pain, clutching her stomach. She wanted tog et back to her feet, but couldn't. All she could do from the ground was shout a "watch out!" to the guys before they got hit by the dark energy blasts.
---
And down in the Underworld, a poor Spawner had to face Vorkalth's annoyance/wrath as Avlazor made his joke. That stupid lizard would get slapped over the head when he returned. Puns and humor were high on the list of things Vorkalth didn't like. Maybe just second to the Sentinels and their allies. And being trapped in the Underworld, though that would change soon. Very soon. Then, they would no longer be confined to the dreariness of their underground prison.

Before anybody had known what had hit them, Clay and Benji both morphed only to be blasted nearly immediately. Only the guy Rangers got blasted...rude! Sparks flew, yelps escaped their lips and their bodies collapsed onto the ground. They rolled around and groaned, picking themselves up and dusting their suits off. Clay had noticed Fate really giving it to Nenet! Speaking of whom...dang, if that ain't the ugliest woman he had ever laid his eyes on...Nenet, not Fate. Fate's pretty. But in like a 'favorite auntie' sort of way. And now that train of that has chuga-chuga-gone....
There's so much going on! Spirits in the lake under the bridge, Nenet, Avlazor, new monster out of the blue, Eye of the Serpent, Novus is a fairy again, Fate's fighting with some heavy ice power? ...there's too much to be keeping up with all at once!

Avlazor heavily swung his ax around as the Blue Ranger charged him, got shot, and would continue to be a pest in his sight. "This too easy. Avlazor have fun! Avlazor caught in big fight!" He chanted, charging back at Dylan post-blast. The basilisk ran past Dylan and struck him in the chest with everything he had behind the ax. The might of the weapon was great, surely. That might fueled with evil? Painful, to say the least. He swung at Dylan again, only to be interrupted by a vine holding back his ax. Avlazor paused and stared at the vine. He glanced behind him.
There stood Benji, Sentinel Staff in wand mode, using the power of nature to hold his weapon back and prevent Dylan from being hit again, giving him a chance to attack! "Back off, scale brains," Benji said to Avlazor, pulling back with the vine and kicking his back.

Clay noticed the monster running after April and Fate after giving Erin a serious beating. He raced to Erin's side to check up on her. "Y'alright, now?" He asked her, helping her up as fast as he could. Watching the monster run towards their allies and Nenet, Clay whipped out the staff in wand mode. "Alright. Earth...stop that thang!" He commanded, flinging it outward, flicking brown specs of magic to crack the ground beneath the monster, hopefully tripping it as it ran towards his allies.

Dylan felt his chest scream with pain. He was reminded that Avlazor's bulk belied a speed one wouldn't expect from such a monster. He collapsed down to one knee upon the flowing river. He felt Avlazor hovering behind him about ready to deliver another painful blow when the telltale snap of a vine tightening cause him to smile. Sure enough, looking behind him was Benji upon the bank with his wand.

"Thanks man." Dylan sprung from his kneeling position and delivered a cartwheel kick to Avlazor's exposed mid section. Switching his sentinel staff to wand mode, he blasted the Fishermen to get their attention. "Gentlemen. I believe it's me you want." He beckoned, switching back to staff mode. Dylan's intent was to draw both Avlazor and the Spirits to him. If the heavy hitters were focused on him, the other Rangers and April in particular could focus on Nenet and getting the Eye back. Of course this also meant fighting both monsters at once but he was standing on water, he was literally in his element. He head the terrain advantage. He called to Deluvian.

"Yooooo maaaaan. How's it flowing bro?" He asked as a hippy.

"Deluvian. Snap to it. We got ass to kick." Dylan said.

"All right, let's jet wash these commie b**tards!" He said know as a Vietnam vet.

"Ha! You're one to talk about pets, owl," Nenet retorted at Fate. Some sniveling shrew of the good magicians wouldn't stand between her and the Eye. This had gone on long enough already. As Fate projected ice blasts toward her, Nenet simply deflected them with a swing of the fan ax and redirected the ice magic toward the lake. Once the ice had made contact with the water, it froze the entirety of the entire lake's surface. A short moment was given to give anybody in the water--namely Dylan--time to escape before also being frozen.
The Spirits of the fishermen, a two headed yellow-scaled monster, succumbed to Clay's Earth attack and Dylan's magic blast. The monster hissed like a serpent and rose from the ground, arms waving all around in a furious motion. It was confused, demonic, evil, destructive. Sad in a way. The Spirits burst out with energy, small explosions of anger going up around it to threaten the Rangers. April noticed how angry the Spirits were getting, and how the water of Ebongrove Lake was now basically a giant ice skating rink!

Nenet flipped her weapon around and jabbed Fate in the stomach with the blunt end, knocking the wind out of her. "Now, owl, time to finish you," she beckoned. April grunted and hastily sprung up from the side, catching Nenet's weapon with her hands.
"Alright. Bad kitty. Get away from her!" She yelled, pushing Nenet back, using the staff in wand mode to deliver a short burst of air at her to send her back. "Now that I know something like that gem haunted the lake and made those men into ghostly monsters, I sure as Hell won't let you have it. And I certainly won't let you hurt anybody else!" April defended with heart in her voice. Nenet spat.
"Fool! I have already won. The Eye is mine, and now you'll have to deal with my puppet demon," Nenet warned as she turned to the Spirits of the fishermen. "Now my friend, terrorize Ebongrove! Send this city to Hell!" She ordered.

The Fishermen Spirits bowed under Nenet's influence, suddenly leaping onto the ice of the lake. It glided across the lake where it had rested for so many decades, skating along the surface of the ice and firing demonic blasts at the city as it toyed with the human realm.
"Avlazor! Let us go, now," Nenet called. She bid Fate and the Rangers a farewell with a gust of dark energy, sweeping her and the basilisk back into the underworld, leaving Fate and the Rangers alone with the demon.
April shouted. "No! She got away with the Eye!" Damn it...and it was April's fault, most likely...she could have stopped her. April knelt beside of Fate. "Fate, are you okay? You have to go back to the Coven, check on Novus. We'll take it from here, I promise," April spoke softly to Fate, her inner nurturing nature taking control of April. She kindly helped her up before having Fate return to their base. Too dangerous for her to stay here now.
Once Fate left, April regrouped with the other four Rangers. "The Spirits are wreaking havoc on the city! We have to do something before it's too late!" She said frantically as the demon skated on the ice. It laid heavy beating on Erin and shot at the guys earlier, this thing was mad powerful! And now it's pulling a Yuri On Ice and skating on the lake...odd behavior. "Guys, I have an idea. Be ready to hit this thing with everything you've got, okay? We have to free these spirits...it's our job, isn't it?" April asked the Rangers before delivering her idea.

(Okay so next post, get ready for...weird action xD)

With the Eye in her possession, Nenet proved stronger than last time. But the Time of Prophecy likely also had a hand in this all. Her Ice Blasts being deflected froze the lake. Bad news. And the mortals were going to be so surprised to see a frozen lake in a time of the year where lakes shouldn't feeze over. Especially not entirely like this. Well, here's to hoping all the ice would miraculously melt before dawn. Fate was knocked to the ground as Nenet again jabbed her in the stomach with the fan ax. The sorceress grunted, gasping for breath. No matter what, things wouldn't end this soon for her. April jumped to her side again, ready to protect her. Fate smiled softly. Yes, it was more and more obvious why Ainya had chosen this fine young woman to bond with. Her eyes widened as Nenet escaped with the Eye. No! This.... this was terrible, if not worse. She hastily nodded as April suggested it would be better if she'd head back to the Coven. Now that Nenet had escaped and the Legion would no doubt use the Eye for their own evil schemes, she and Novus also better prepare for the worst. Soon, they might need to regain their old allies, find Sentinels lost to time, prepare for the worst possible scenarios. "Good luck, Rangers, and be cautious," she said, before using her magic to head back to safety.

Erin very much appreciated Clay rushing up to her to check up and help her back to her feet. She was sore all over, and she was likely going to feel this for some days. Thank goodness there were no concerned parents who'd ask her questions on bruises. Man, she missed her parents... but she knew that, if they were here, they couldn't let her go outside anymore with the demons wandering around. Which would really make being a Power Ranger a lot more difficult. But back to now... Erin accepted Clay's help to get back to her feet. "Could be better," she said, rubbing a sore spot on her side. "But thanks." She smiled... under her visor, so nobody could see it. Ah well... She turned her attention back to the Fisherman Spirits. And Nenet, Dylan, April, Fate... Fate getting beaten...

This was going swimmingly. Or... slidingly, considering the ice? Anyhow, lake's frozen, Nenet's gone and now the Legion has the Eye, and there's a really angry two headed evil spirit standing in front of them. Lovely. Igneos flicked his flames in her thoughts. "Surely we could help with the lake being frozen, nah?" he spoke.
"Perhaps when the monster is dealt with. We don't want to put it back under water to have it haunt for another couple of decades."
Igeos showed some signs of disapproval. Erin rolled her eyes and sighed. There was a sad monster that needed defeating, spirits that needed to be put to rest. And April had a plan to do just that. "Especially now that it's gonna attack the city and will bring the place to Hell if we don't stop it," she nodded. "Whatever plan i is you've got, right now it's all we have. So bring it."

When Nenet froze the lake, Dylan was suddenly on less than sure footing. He tried to guard against the demon General but his clawed feet gave him better traction on the ice than Dylan's feet did. Deluvian was of no help. The water was completely frozen by a magic far stronger than him/her and couldn't be altered or controlled by the spirit. With a childish mocking and a sweeping attack, Avlazor sent Dylan sliding across the ice. Luckily he ended up sliding pretty close to where his friends were.

"Ironic." He said as he got to his feet. "I was doing far better fighting on totally liquid water than I was on solid ice."

Avlazor heard the beckoning call of Nenet as he dealt with Blue and Green. The Eye of the Serpent was the rightful property of the Legion. And this was a victory, also with a new monster running rampant! Avlazor detached himself from Benji's vine and attack him as well as Dylan after Nenet froze the lake with Fate's own spell.
"Bye bye, Rangers," Avlazor said to the team, blowing a raspberry as he vanished with her, bidding the Rangers farewell like the worthless pests they all are.

Clay and Benji both grunted and groaned as Avlazor and Nenet escaped with the Eye. They'd won! The Legion had a victory over the Sentinels for a start...gulp. Clay was happy to see Erin was alright, not so happy to see a frozen lake in the fall and Fate being beaten by Nenet. "No prob, Bob," Clay said to Erin as she'd been given help up by the cowboy. Something about seeing a two headed monster made of ghosts gliding on the ice of a lake in the fall, dealing damage to a city while an owl woman and a fairy returned to their tree home made Clay wary of everything in his life. Didn't compare to being back on the farm with his ma and pa. Benji on the other hand was getting used to this weird stuff, but being hit by an ax and everything still bugged him. Because ouchy!
They'd regrouped with everybody by the lake just as the Spirits were skating on the lake. "April's right, we have to do something, fast..." Benji said. She had a plan, and whatever it was it was certainly welcome. "I second what Erin said. Your plan is all we have, do it!" Benji agreed with her. Clay reassured April with a pat on the back over her cape as his own flowed in the breeze. "We'll be ready to hit that thing whenever you say the word," he told her. April's plan was all they had, no matter how weird! Ready for weird!

Upon return to the lair underground in Hell itself, Nenet bound through the portal with her faithful friend Avlazor, Eye of the Serpent in her hand. The gemstone oxymoronically glowed bright with dark energy, sounds of a serpent hissing filling the air. She knelt before Vorkalth, uncaring of the fate of whatever might happen to the Fishermen Spirits she'd bound to the body of a demon. That didn't matter... the gem was theirs, that fairy was puny again, and Nenet personally got to combat that stupid owl. Victory for the Legion! "Master. I bring you the Eye of the Serpent," Nenet praised before almighty Vorkalth.
---
The Spirits rampaged on the ice, mindlessly wandering on the frozen lake under Nenet's evil control. The beast had no free will nor ability to even speak. A poor case of two trapped souls. But this monster was the responsibility of the Sentinels! April especially, for she felt a certain guilt in the matter. Maybe if she hadn't brought Fate and Novus out here, Novus would be okay and the demon wouldn't have been brought out to fight...
April glanced at everybody and nodded as they agreed for her plan. "Alright. Wish me luck," she said softly to her friends. She watched the demonic beast glide across the ice even more, blasting rapidly at Ebongrove under the night sky, knowing if she waited longer she'd watch it succumb to chaos. Chaos didn't sound like the best way to bask in the beauty of such a pretty night like this now did it? Especially not when the city only just got mighty protectors.

April focused hard, finding only one solution to combat this creature of the ice. "Don't worry, spirits, we're gonna free you so you can rest!" April thought to herself. She focused on her Essencia hard, eyes closed and her heart pounding. She had leaped up to stand on the ice, cape flowing in the wind. "Alright. Magic, do your thing, okay?" She asked the Essencia as if it were a living force. She focused on her feet and--(hopefully not breaking a magic rule here)--with a flash of magic, ice skates appeared over her morphed feet! She fist pumped the air, eyes on the demon. "Here we go!" She blurted, putting her ice skating skills from behind the scenes to use and descending to meet the monster. The beast blasted out at the scenery, interrupted by April's Sentinel Staff firing a magic bolt toward it. It hissed like a serpent and lashed out at her, striking across her chest with its claws. April yelped slightly but did not back down. She kicked off of the ice and skated gracefully around the beast, firing bolts of magic from the wand at it to keep it occupied. The monster fired back at her, sparks flying from the ice around her. April spun and gracefully displayed her passion for ice skating as she evaded. Funny how her personal hobby outside of this work is being useful now!

She then skated closer near the monster. It slashed at her with its claws again, landing a blow on her arm. April brushed it off, leaping upward into the air and roundhouse kicking the beast with the skates, the blase slicing across its chest. This weakened the creature, allowing April to skate side by side with it. She skidded to a stop as it slide forward along the ice. As it slide, she summoned the crossbow and aimed it at the monsters back. "Alright guys, now! Elemental Fury Attack!" She shouted at the other Rangers, firing a wicked shot at the monsters back, backed by mighty passionate wind, the blast sending the monster forward towards the other Rangers so that could all give the creature concentrated blasts of their elements form their wands. After making contact and falling down on the hard uncaring ground, the Spirits rolled around following the Rangers' attack led by April, sparks flying, the monster going up in a bitter explosion.
Was it finally done? Were the Spirits free? Or would they return as a giant like Golem had before?
---
In the realm of Hell, Nenet felt the death of the demon. She cursed. OH well, might as well give it a chance to crush the Sentinels, even if she didn't care. She performed the spell from before, granting it new life!
---
As April dismounted the ice and removed the magical skates to join her team again, celebrations were cut short. The fishermen Spirits returned as a giant version of the yellow scaled two-headed monster. "Uh oh...looks like we'll have to beat it again before their spirits are free. Let's call the Beasts, you guys, together!" April said softly to everybody, not used to taking the 'lead' like this. Erin was more of the leader, so summoning the Beasts and combining them felt like her call...hmm. But best to get the Megazord, no? They had to beat this thing before it tore the city apart! It hissed like a snake and started rampaging once more.

"Ah, excellent," Vorkalth took the Eye in his hand. The dark and evil magic felt revitalizing, as if even more of his old powers returned to him. There was a big chance this was just the case. The dark glow illuminated the Underground. Yes, this was prefect. He had watched everything happen in the Scrying Glass, from the foolish fairy being turned back to his true form to the battle between Nenet and Fate, and the battle between the Sentinels and the Fisherman Spirits, however brief. Now it no longer mattered. There were other dark things for him to focus on. Much greater things. With this powerful relic in their possession, they had a much needed tool in their journey to conquering the world and tearing the Veil apart.
---
Erin had to rub her eyes over her visor as she watched April's plan unfold. How was it even possible to use wind magic to create ice skates? Best to disregard logic it seemed. Just... disregard any logic and physics and whatnot that had always applied. Apparently it just stopped applying when they turned into brightly colored cape-wearing superheroes. She lightly shook her head again and watched the battle, pulling out her wand as April called for them to use their elemental atacks. "Got it!!" she called, channeling her Essencia and Igneos' spirit into the wand. "Elemental Fury Attack!" A concentrated ray of fire shot out of her wand, making contact with the Fisherman Spirits, causing many sparks to fly. And as all attacks had hit him, the monster/ghost/demon finally exploded. That was one way to melt a part of the ice they were standing on! Thankfully the part where the Sentinels stood was still frozen. Imagine falling into the chilly waters right now... So, could they head back to the Coven now? Check up on Novus and Fate and be happy the spirits were put to rest after decades?
---
Vorkalth didn't care much for the Fisherman Spirits exploding. Sure, it was a bit of a shame, but with the eye, there were more important matters to focus on. And, well... considering this was a demon created from two trapped spirits now, or soon after, set free, it wasn't even much of an interesting creature to record in the Codex with the main source of its powers being gone. Still he let Nenet cast her spell to revive the monster, giving it one last chance to wreck havoc, maybe crush one or more Sentinels in the process.
---
Of course they didn't get to celebrate for very long. Mere moments after getting off the ice, the monster came back to life to fight them again. Noticing all eyes were basically on her, Erin nodded to April, sending out a thought to the Coven.
"Novus, Fate... We need help. The demon's back and as tall as a building. Sending the Beasts would be much appreciated!"
"They're on their way, Rangers,"
Fate responded. And Erin could swear that somewhere in the background she could hear Novus cursing and sulking over his new... or old... form. BEst not to laugh at that, or even do as much as think about it now that her mind was apparently still linked to the Coven. Surely enough, five portals opened, and out came the Beasts, just like last time. After their individual attacks, the Beasts combined and the Rangers were all being pulled into the shared cockpit.
"Titan Megazord," Erin called out, just like last time. She didn't care much if the others wouldn't follow because they thought it was silly. She felt like this had to be done. Besides, things were already silly. Might as well go all the way.

Avlazor knelt along Nenet in praise of the Eye and their master. "We do good? Eye belongs to us, we beat stupid cape people?" Avlazor asked Nenet and Vorkalth, taking pride in this small victory over them. With this gen, the potential of power was far beyond any horizon they'd set for themselves. The Legion remains strong!
---
Maybe it's a trick of the eye--the ones in their heads, not the gem stone they'd lost--or maybe it's their mind slipping away. But did April just poof on a pair of ice skates over her boots of the suit? Can their magic do that, in addition to elemental powers? Surely magic is more than elements...who's to say they can't all use a little bit of some basic magics every now and then...just what's the limit, though? Everyone's basically a beginner, so probably a far limit. Still, it was quite a sight seeing April go from wind power to...well, becoming Ice Princess. Anyone ever see that movie? It's a good one!
"Hey, girl's wasting time! Just clobber the guy already!" Grondo blurted violently in Clay's head.
"Skating along the frozen lake, hopefully not a mistake she will make," Sylvan poetically spoke to Benji's mind. Really though, look at her go! April's amazing at ice skating! Battling a demon in skates? Nobody else could do that, surely.
Clay let put a loud 'yeeeeeehaw' as he witnessed April's odd plan go into action. Benji just folded his arms and tilted his head, forever the skeptic. "This doesn't make much sense..." Benji said aloud. Clay nudged him. "Aye, nothing makes sense anymore. And that make sense," he replied. True.
The guys nodded as April alerted them to attack. Wielding their wands they followed everyone suit. "Elemental Fury Attack!" They called, earth and forest beams racing and blasting the demon, striking it down into an explosion. Finally, they'd destroyed it. And boy it felt good that they'd likely freed those souls!

Of course it didn't last...just as the ice had been disembarked... "Way to go, Ap--" Benji began to say to her, seeing the creature return as a giant once more. Oh boy. Not this crap again. "Oh boy, not this crap again..." He muttered. Word for word from that previous thought, too!
"Looks like we got us a big ol' varmint to fry," Clay told the others and fixated his eyes up on the giant Hell beast. Sure enough the Beasts of their own appeared in stride, attacking and forming up together. Good to see their big monstrous allies again! Clay an Benji both joined up with everybody in the shared cockpit of the assembled humanoid robot once they all combined shortly.
"Titan Megazord!" Had been shouted out in unison. "Alright, best be getting startin' now!" Clay told the others. A nod was given his way as staffs were inserted and control was taken. Shall they give this monster the ol' one-two?!

Did April mention she liked ice skating? If she did, Dylan totally forgot it. In his defense, he had never seen her do it and if she had mentioned it, it was only once. The pains of being visually memory retentive. In any case, Dylan got exactly what this was. Essencia was something innate to everyone. Not that everyone can use it, but everyone that can, uses it differently. For him, it gave him instant expertise in any fighting style he was already aquainted with because that's where his heart and passion lied. For April? From her display of skill it was clear she knew what she was doing with ice skating and loved it. Hence why Essencia was called different things by different cultures, it behaved differently to people of one nation than it did to people of another so without Fate or Novus telling them the magic came from the same source, they'd never make the connection. That was then, this is now. Plus, you know, he was a Power Ranger so their connection to Essencia was stronger than the average person.

Dylan pumped his fist and cheered April on. She danced and glided around the damned creature like a zephyr. He let out a sound that was like seeing a home run at a ball game at the particular moment when April slashed at the monster with her ice skates. He winced at the moments when she was hit but he remained where he was, as according to her plan. When April gave him the cue though, Dylan dropped to a knee, punched his way through the ice and pulled out his trident. With the others, he let loose the elemental fury blast and silenced the monster.

As April came to the shore, Dylan gave her a pat on the back.
"Good job!" He said. "That was good planning, fighting, AND you're an amazing ice skater." He said. Whatever her response was, it would have to wait for the monster rose again. "Oh God bless these poor bastards." Dylan thought as their torment seemed to never truly end. Dylan grabbed his charm and called out to his zord individually with his heart.

"Very good, we did very good," Nenet assured Avlazor. "Didn't we, master?" She asked Vorkalth. Truly this was a remarkable time. The gem was theirs, its power would be used for their own agenda, and the Veil would be torn asunder between worlds!
---
Upon the arrival of the Beasts, April waved at the five creatures coming through portals, eyeing the Hippogriff with a close look, also keeping an eye on the Spirits. Poor souls were still trapped, they had to be free. And only one way to do that... sadly it implied violence and not something more peaceful. Like a seance or something. If that'd even work.
She smiled at everybody as they gave her appreciation for her idea and work toward defeating the monster on the ground. She shrugged and under her visor smiled more. That smile turned into a look of focus, however. No time for dilly dallying now.

She'd merged with the Hippogriff and joined everybody in the combined form. "Titan Megazord!"
Fishermen Spirits rampaged through the city, blasting the night sky with foul magic and rushing around to destroy it. So much time had passed, any remnant of the men trapped in the monster might be confused. Fifty years had gone by... it's a new world to them. Unfortunately it's also a new pair of menacing evil eyes they're looking at it through.
"We have to free these souls. I won't let Nenet's magic rule here. She got the gem, but she won't take these people!" April said to herself, feeling obligated to personally see this through. Again, she sort of blamed herself for this mess. If she hadn't brought the others here...maybe the monster wouldn't have been made. She can't think about that now, though.
Fired up, she inserted her staff for control and readied for battle. Better make it quick. The Spirits locked onto the Megazord and fired an energy blast from both heads. The blast sent sparks blazing from the best of the giant, April putting focus into keep the robot-like thing standing. "Alright. Let's go, Hippogriff!" She called to her beast specifically as a leg. She motioned forward and kicked upward, the Megazord following suit and kicking the monster in the gut. She swiped her arm around and bashed into one of the two heads on the demon. Sparks emitted from the monster, returning a blow to the Megazord in savage fashion.

April yelped and grunted, kicking again to put in some distance. Everybody was free to lend a hand here. Momma April kicked in and saw these spirits as children who needed help. Ahh, motherly passion. What a driving force! Aiyna chimed in mentally.
She huffed and allowed the others to attack the monster as it charged back toward them all. Just do something, quick so they can end this!

"Yes, you did indeed," Vorkalth nodded approvingly. This first victory of the Legion was long overdue, but it would be the first of many more victories to come. "Now, as those spirits handle themselves, let us focus on the next step of our plan." He tapped with his free hand on his throne. It was time they would pick their first target, rip the Veil apart just far enough for their dark magic to seep through until it would be enough to tear the Veil apart even further and step through.
---
It was sad. Knowing this evil demon might not be so evil in origin. Just two poor souls, trapped in there for way too long. Their humanity taken away until nothing remained but confusion, hatred, pain... And let's not forget the world has changed quite a lot since these two men last walked the Earth. The only way to free them would be to destroy them, killing them again so they would be truly dead and find peace in whatever afterlife might await them.
Erin nodded to April. The Legion might have won that first round, but they wouldn't let them win again! Erin followed the motions of the Megazord, briefly wondering just who was steering who. What if they mentally commanded this thing, but the connection to the Zord made them move? Food for thought. And definitely to be saved for later.

As the monster hit the Megazord back, Erin staggered. Damn, as a giant this thing packed even more of a punch than it did in it's normal-sized form. Erin mentally summoned the sword again, slashing it across the monster's chest and already preparing herself to get hit back. If everyone would get their attacks in soon, that would be great. That way they could just go for the finisher, bring the spirits to rest, check up on Novus and Fate, and maybe... just maybe, the rest of the evening would be normal. As normal as it gets for them, anyway.

"Veil get broken, we make the rules, enemies die!" Avlazor chanted simply. Oh this was a truly good day for the Legion. Victory was theirs in this instance, no matter the cost. From now on their plans would carry forward the ultimate goal. Dark days were to come, and Avlazor's ax thirsted for battles to soon dawn!
---
First Benji's art project for the gallery had been transformed into an evil statue of doom, now two ghosts are merged into a demon monster attacking the city. This Megazord has seen some interesting things in its short lifespan so far has it not? So had the five people within. Poor souls were trapped and only they contained the ability to free them, even if it meant cutting them down once again. Clay had certainly not foreseen such events. When it came to the deceased he was very respectful. He wasn't used to clobbering dead guys in the face with a big-ass robot arm.
And boy did these Spirits hit hard! He and Benji both held it together with everybody as it attacked. Aprils determination was clear, as was her good intentions of her heart. What better woman to fight with now.

Following up Erin's attack with the sword, Clay rolled up his figurative sleeves. "A'ight now, let's tussle!" He beckoned at the beast, snapping to a boxer stance and controlling the Zord to swing with a sturdy right hook to the monsters face. He jabbed with another punch to its chest, then an uppercut to its jaw! He remained cautious, however, this thing hit hard and he certainly didn't want to feel its hit again. Because ouch.
Benji breathed slowly and took minor control himself of the sword. It conformed the weapon back into bow mode. "Alright, Centaur Arrow blast!" He called, firing a quick mega arrow at the Spirits, aiming at the conjoined neck joint of the monster in an effort to weaken it. They had to kill this thing quickly to get back to the others!!!

Dylan wanted to do something with the sword but Benji had turned it into bow mode. So Dylan decided not to fight the tide, instead he lowered into a ready stance and waited for the creature's attack. As it lashed at the Megazord, Dylan slid to the side and the Megazord did so in turn. He extended his arm out though, catching the creature's arm inside the Megazord's bow between the bow's limbs and its drawstring. Dylan spun on his heel, the Megazord mimcing the movement and leveraged the bow and the monster trapped to it over the Megazord's back, throwing it away and staggered. Dylan relinquished his control and compose himself, whispering a quiet prayer and crossing himself, both asking for forgiveness and that these poor men would finally be free and at peace when Dylan and his friend's destroyed their physical prison.

The Fishermen Spirits had been tossed and rattled around, met with endless blows and blasts from all angles in an attempt to smite them. Blasts from a bow and slashes from a blade, punched and kicked around like a rag doll. The two-headed demon had had enough following Dylan's attacks, stumbling around and firing powerful energy blasts at the Megazord and landing a huge hit on its chest. Sparks flew, energy erupted from the giants body as it fumbled around, taking a couple of steps back. April yelped and pitched in on maintaining balance. She gripped onto the staff for leverage and caught her breath.
"This is a little harder than I thought," she thought out loud for everybody to hear.

The Spirits hissed in...agony? Some small reminder that men were trapped in it called out to her. Maybe the men themselves were trying to escape? April could hear them...almost only her, though. Maybe the others could hear the men calling out from within the beast, but they seemed to want April directly. Maybe they'd grown fond of her...or maybe it was all in her head. Either way, she'd reminded herself that those innocent souls were in trouble. She clenched her fist around the grip of the staff and pushed herself up. Time to put an end to this eternity of suffering. "Okay guys, c'mon. We have to put a stop to this before it's too late. Spirits, please don't take this personally, but we're taking you down!" She said to her friends, then the monster.
Essencia flowed through her and her friends, all of them channeling their power as one as they'd done before. Aiyna put a spiritual hand on April's mental shoulder, granting her strength and bestowing the Sentinels with the purity to beat this demon. The bow and once again been reverted to sword mode. "Titan Megazord, Elemental Slash!" April led in a call, the five elements covering the blade, April swinging her arms down with everybody, the Megazord following their action and slashing down on the Spirits. Fire, water, earth, nature and air ran through the beast. Sparks flew and it staggered back, hissing in pain and hissing just to hiss. The creature had fallen, not a word as it exploded in a massive blaze. Finally...they'd beaten it!

But something happened after destroying the demon. Finally their souls were free, April put her hand over her heart in the cockpit of the Megazord with everybody. She'd let out a breath of relief as victory cheers emerged. Something felt off to her.
A strange light appeared over where the monster had fallen. "What..." She muttered. The small light drew near the Megazord, boldly entering the cockpit. The light glowed before the five Rangers, shining a warm and heavenly glow. April's eyes lit up under her visor. What was happening? The light split into two. And the two lights transformed into the...into the fishermen who'd died all those years ago. They were transparent and glowing. Like ghosts. "We are free," the first man said.
"Thank you, young heroes. You'd finally freed us from that cursed gem in the water. We may pass on," the second man said. They both looked towards April. "And you, young woman, thank you as well. If not for you and your friends, we'd be trapped forever." April blushed.
"I played a small part. I'm sorry you were turned into a monster...and we had to fight..." She apologized. The men laughed and smiled. The two fishermen friends patted one another on the back. "No reason to be sorry. We're free. We can pass on and be with our wives in the next life. Just know that we're forever grateful. And should you ever need us, we'll always be watching. Call us your unofficial guardian angels. Everybody!" Said the second man. The first nodded. "Well... goodbye," he said. The two men then faded away, finally passing on to the next life Free.
---
Time had passed April and the others returned to the Coven after leaving the Megazord and chatting with the Spirits. She'd demorphed with everybody just before arriving to check up on Fate and Novus. She walked in with the others behind her. "Fate? Novus? Are you guys here?" She called out to them softly, sounding concerned after their encounters. Did they know what happened with the Spirits? Were they proud? Were they alright?

"No shit," Erin replied as she too grabbed on to the staff in order not to fall over. She had already experienced being hit by this thing first handed, and now, being in a Megaord, it really didn't make much of difference. At least all of them together kept the giant robot standing instead of falling over. Imagine the damage that would cause! That, and they might get hurt and/or die too. Not a pleasant thought. But neither was the thought of two poor souls trapped inside a demon because of an evil gemstone for five decades. Time to push back with al they had within them!

Whether the others heard the same thing as April or not, Erin had no idea. Mostly because she couldn't hear anything in particular. Just the hissing of the demon. It sounded in pain or something, but that was really all Erin could tell here. And seriously, who wouldn't be in pain after being kicked, punched, slashes, and shot? At least they were about to finish it off, destroy the demon, and put some souls to rest. Erin nodded as April took the lead in this case, calling for the finisher. She gripped the staff tighter and channeled her Essencia combined with Igneos' . "Titan Megazord, Elemental Slash!" she called in unison with April and the rest. They made the slashing motion, the blade covered in all of their elements' powers. Five elements, sparks, hissing, explosions. Another battle well-done. The Fishermen Spirits were no more.

After destroying the monster, something odd happened, even odd for them after the things they had seen so far. The strange light that had appeared entered the cockpit. That didn't seem like something that was supposed to happen... This light didn't seem evil though, and not just because it was bright and warm. Suddenly the light split in two, and they were having two ghostly visitors in the cockpit! Whoa! Seemed like Novus was right. Ghosts and spirits (from their own world) WERE real! Whoa again! The spirits thanked them for freeing them after so long, telling them they would finally be able to pass on. It was slightly creepy to hear they would always be watching as guardian angels. Just when she was no longer concerned about Novus and Fate invading her privacy with their telepathy, two ghosts told them to watch over them. Kinda weird, kinda creepy, but probably one of those other things they would have to get used to, nah? "Doing what we did... it's sort of our job. We were chosen to do this sorta thing," Erin told them before the spirits faded away to whatever afterlife awaited for them.
"Well, wasn't that nice?" she asked the others, still a little puzzled. Happy, but puzzled.
---
Back in the Coven the Rangers were quickly greeted by Fate. "Rangers, I am glad to see you're all doing fine. Great job with those spirits. May they rest in peace at last." She smiled at them, proud of how well they had handled the demon ghost. These five still clearly had a lot to learn, but even in this stage they were five fine people with good hearts. And they stood up against the Legion pretty darn well. The stupid cat, lizard, and their master were in for quite something if the Sentinels kept this up. But, as proven today, the Sentinels too were up for quite something. Especially now...
"You did a fine job indeed," Novus said, sitting on a tree trunk. Though he was happy for the rangers, he could hardly look amused. Damn Nenet for trapping him in his true fairy form again. It really happened all the time, but WHY SO SOON? His face turned sour again as he grumbled to himself, crossing his arms and fluttering off to another part of the Coven.
"Don't mind him," Fate said. "He'll come around. Just he needs a little bit of time to adjust to this form again."
"Glad to hear," Erin let out a small sigh of relief. "But... Fate... what happens now?" With the Legion getting their hands on the Eye, apparently an important and evil artifact to them, this made her rather concerned.
"I don't know," Fate admitted. "But whatever it is, it won't be much good. I already sense something dark stirring. Whatever Vorkalth will do with the Eye, it will be dangerous. So please, stay on guard, all of you."

Powerful blasts of magic struck the robots chest and caused everybody stumble around, gripping onto their staves for dear life while this beast persisted in its attack. "Ain't nothing compared to the rodeo. Some of them bulls can go!" Clay announced as April said this was harder than expected. Benji glanced at him under his visor like 'huh?' Bull riding probably didn't compare to what they were doing now. This is massive fighting with lots of sparks and colorful things mashed together against two trapped spirits in a demon body. Hooray.
Faint echoes of agony swept through their minds. Maybe not the same as April, but faint whispers ran through their heads like Grondo and Sylvan did on occasion. Minus the poetry and blunt violent talk. The creature--those men--had to be put out of their misery and freed of this eternal Hell they'd been forced into by dark magic. Seeing the determination in their friends, Clay and Benji mustered up the power to focus their Essencia with everybody as one like in the last battle. Focusing their elements into the blade, wielding it as one with their team. "Titan Megazord, Elemental Slash!" Clay shouted with everybody, Benji letting out a heavy swinging grunt as they slashed the blade at the beast, watching the 'firework' show as it exploded, slain at last.

A weird light entered the cockpit after the monsters death. Benji and Clay let out victory cries and patted everybody on the backs when they saw it. A strange, warm light filling the cockpit with a soft glow. Splitting in two, the mysterious light revealed itself to be those fishermen ghosts...finally free of their torment. Free to pass on into whatever next life may await them, even if there is such a thing. One such mystery is on everyone's mind, maybe. "Ghosts...spooky," Benji whispered to the others once they appeared. The men appeared grateful, especially towards the White Sentinel. Maybe her good heart just drew them to her especially? What if she was always meant to somehow play a part in freeing them?
Hearing they'd always be watched by said ghosties was disheartening. Sure they had the Sentinel Spirits in their heads at all times with Novus and Fate, but now two strange old fishermen ghosts? The sentiment was nice but still a tad on the spine-tingly side.
"Rest in peace, now," Clay said with as much southern hospitality as the men faded away. He folded his arms. "Nice....well not the word I'd use. But they're okay, at least," Benji skeptically replied to Erin.
---
Returning in civilian form to the Coven in the woods, Novus was still yet a small fairy. He didn't look hurt at least, so that's a good thing right? However he does seem incredibly annoyed. Clay had tipped his imaginary hat to him and chewed on...either some kind of gum or whatever cowboys always seem to be chewing on. Not tobacco, that stuff is just plain nasty to him. Job well done, yada yada. "Novus, you gonna be alright there?" Clay asked him out of curious nature.
Speaking of nature, Benji strolled up towards Fate along Erin. "Exactly what kind of dark stirring stuff are we talking, here?" He asked her. Hearing they'd done well today but Nenet's obtaining the gem was a victory for the bad guys was most unsatisfying. Clay turned his head. "Yeah, they world ain't gonna fall apart now is it? Let 'em bring it on, we'll kick their hind-ends so hard they'll be a-runnin' to their mammy in Hell," Clay assured everyone. That's how it's supposed to go down in good versus evil stories, right?

Dylan recoiled from the returned blasts along with the rest. Also along with the rest, Dylan helped with the final blow.
"Titan Elemental Slash!" he cried with the others. When the two fishermen spirits entered the control chamber of the Titan megazord and thanked them. Dylan also hastened to apologize along with April.

"I'm sorry that I kind of got into smacking you guys around." He added. Upon hearing their gratitude though, his guilt was assuaged. Compared to being trapped in Hell, and really what could these two's previous state be called but that?, being batted about was the least of their torments. Unlike some of his teammates, he took to their assurance of being watched over by them with grace. "Thank you. God bless you." He said in sincere gratitude. Dylan smiled as they left. Saving those kids was good and all, but Dylan felt a real sense of pride from this victory. The salvation of two innocent souls. Of course, this was more April's triumph than his own but he did not mind. What was important was these two were no longer trapped.

~ ~ ~

Back at the Coven, Dylan wondered why Novus would be so maladjusted. If this was his true form, shouldn't it just feel natural? Not that what he knew of fae creatures indicated anything about comfort or discomfort outside of their weakness to cold iron or gold sometimes. "Actually . . ." Dylan suddenly got it into his head that he didn't know for certain if Novus had a particular aversion to iron. Not that he was planning to roll into the coven with old door hinges and fire place equipment and start hurling them at Novus but hey, the Aesir had their fun chucking everything and the kitchen sink at Baldur before Loki spoiled the fun. (Bonus points for you guys if you get what I'm talking about.) He wasn't really paying attention to Fate, his mind had a bad tendency to wander when he got deep into his ponderings.
