Decker Grayson

The brief reprieve Decker gained from escaping was interrupted with a loud clang as the pair impacted the door. 'Oh you have gotta be shittin me.' The sound of tearing metal confirmed that he was not, in fact, being punked. 'OK, no more playin around. The old guy's not gonna mind a pair of bodies, right?' And then Samora went for his arm, quickly finding her mouth full of metal. Decker moved around to face her reptilian visage, narrowly avoiding the pipe heading towards his center mass. "Get that outta your mouth, it could be dangerous." Being one to exercise brutal simplicity when it suited him, he held the emitter for his plasma dart at her throat and turned the blade on. "Told ya."

Hot plasma thrust into Samora’s skin and flesh almost instantaneously, leaving her no time to react. Her jaws were clenched with a biologically-induced movement in an attempt to bite her prey which her reptilian brain refused to give up on. Thus she could not pull away from Decker or the metal between her jaws. Finally the pain overpowered her need to kill and she backed off, the damage to her vocal chords causing the angry hiss escaping her lungs to become gargled and strained. She stumbled away from her attacker into the arms of her lover.

“Sammy! MY LOVE!” He screamed, “YOU TRICKSTER, YOU FUCKING FIEND,” He began to rage as he lowered his wife gingerly to the floor in the doorway. “Sammy, don’t try and speak,” he said as she looked at him with panic in her eyes. Her breaths were shallow, and she seemed to be hyperventilating. The cauterizing of the wound inside her throat was blocking her airways, making it nearly impossible for her to breath. Shival made a decision then, in his snake’s heart. Was he a cold blooded killer only? No, he seemed to say to himself as he scooped his mate up into his arms and rushed out the door. As the door behind the security booth opened and shut people screamed to see the giant snake person holding his dying companion, and Decker was now alone in the stairwell.

There was an eerie calm about Decker as the blade did its work, burning through Samora's windpipe. Only when his arm was finally released would he disengage the blade before turning and continuing to move down the stairs. Shival's enraged shouts and Samora's strained breathing were nothing but background noise to him, he got what he wanted. Taking a look at Shival as he descended only caused him to shake his head. If he really was from the lower districts, he should have internalized the lesson on display. Never bet more than you're willing to lose. The Blue Ranger continued towards the sounds of gunfire and shouting, making sure his weapon was at the ready just in case some mooks decided to investigate the area.

Once Decker had found himself on the lowest level, the door ahead of him lead into an incredibly large warehouse. At the front left corner closest to the entrance which the Blue Ranger would have to enter through was a large chain link room with many expensive looking computer setups showing numbers and schematics only engineers or hackers might recognize. It was empty of people, and there was an emergency exit right off of the "cage." Directly ahead were many drab looking tables, some with guns strewn out and others with drugs, most of which Decker might recognize. The guns were almost all plasma grade, aside from electromagnetic bombs, a few rail guns, and the sleekest rocket launchers money could buy were on the table closest to the Blue Ranger off of the small platform whic was a patio to the entrance.

On the left half of the room ahead of the cage was a large garage door, and next to it was an open door with a man posted outside of it holding a laser pistol. He was motioning some others to join him at the threshold, and kept peaking in and out of the room. On the right many of the cheap wooden tables were destroyed, and some of the piles of debris were on fire. Small craters lined the concrete walls and the floor, and six men were dead with chunks of flesh taken out of seared wounds.

Jason Scott Lee

There were currently three around Jason, whom were each barely being fended off by the constant rotation of his massive scythe around him. He seemed to wield it as if it had it's own gravitational laws, and the blade weighed nothing. Each swipe he made towards the three men was deftly avoided by a hair, and finally one penetrated his protective range. Jason ceased his weaponry's movement, chambering it behind his back before forming a plasma ball in his palm on the man's approach. The man attempted to land a lunging jab at the Ranger, and Jason met his fist with the tiny sun he held.

They clashed with a small burst of red flame, and the man's skin seemed to blow off of his knuckles. Below was a a second layer of "skin," which was pure black. He seemed to not have felt any pain, but did make a retreating step to move back out of range. Then Jason swept his scythe around to be behind the enemy, and he pulled it back towards him. The enemy was not chopped in half by the plasma blade but it did serve to cause him to stumble into another strike from the Red Ranger's plasma ball. The skin was torn from half his face and jaw, showing again a black epidermal substance. His eyes seemed relatively human, still, however.

Mint Blaun

"But I refuse." Mint just hopped into their conversation as she dodged Roark's attack by backstepping and then floated above one of the toppled shelf. Her eyes glanced at both of them and took notes of their location.

"Stardust." Eight pink orbs suddenly appeared in front of her. After briefly flickering in and out of existence the orbs finally took the form of eight fist-sized drones with neon pink light escaping through its cracks. Four of them had their eyes locked on Roark while the four others were gazing at Mickey.

"Apologies, I have no personal reason to hurt you two other than for the sake of the mission... but I also have no reason to keep you alive." At first she was planning to neutralize them all silently to prevent her location from leaking out but one of them already escaped anyway so now her priority had shifted to simply eliminate threats regardless of how much ruckus she's making.

"Go." At her short command all Stardusts let out a barrage of small plasma beams at their respective designated targets.

'Huh, that's awfully convenient.' Decker moved towards the table with all the goodies, taking care to be as quiet as possible. With all of these toys at his fingertips, there was only one complaint that came to mind. 'What, no disintegrators? Man, I was kinda hopin. Ah well, this'll be more than enough to ruin their day.' Taking stock of what exactly he had available, he hatched a plan to be the biggest pain in the ass possible. And it didn't even require his Ranger weapon. 'This is gonna be fun.'

About to grab one of the bombs, the parameters for the mission came back into his head. 'Right. Can't harm anything structurally important. If only someone had thought to find the building plans, then we'd know what wasn't structurally important. Fuckin amateur hour. Plan B' Forgoing the bomb, he instead went for one of the plasma guns, priming it. 'Oh yeah. We're gonna have some good times.' He opened fire with the weapon in his hands, attempting to take out as many people as possible in a hail of plasma fire. "Someone order another problem, express shipping?"

Upon seeing the little drones which had appeared seemingly out of nowhere, Mickey dropped from the spot on the ceiling from which he was hanging seemingly with no regard for his own safety. The lasers, which he narrowly avoided, ripped and tore through the pipes and the ceiling a little bit causing a commotion where he just was. When he hit the top of a box not far from his drop, he rolled off of it gracefully and disappeared into the rows of items in storage, his form concealed from Mint for the moment. He then yelled out to the men whom were lining up outside the door of the room.

"Hey boys! We're gonna need you in here now," He said without a care in the world. The men who had gathered all stormed in the room, taking up spots behind various places of cover right inside the door. Roark was not nearly as lucky as his friend, or perhaps simply not as agile. With blinding speed, swiped his rapier in front of himself to meet each blast of Mint's barrage one by one. He was not nearly fast enough to catch them all, however, and had been hit twice. He now had a leaking wound on his hip, and his left ribcage from the attack. He grit his teeth and eyed the psychic suspiciously.

"Mickey! I can't reach her if she's flying," He said in a frustrated tone. Mickey did not reply.

A spray of plasma beams rocketed in towards Jason's position. He could not see, or rather didn't notice, the gunman ready his attack, and was caught off guard. Thankfully, however, none of the beams hit him as if fired by an ally with expert precision. Turns out, that's because that's exactly what happened. Several of the array of super heated gunfire nailed the unsuspecting enemies of the rangers, revealing more of their black armor which seemed to be beneath every inch of their skin. The beams seemed to do some amount of concussive damage to them, causing them to turn and face the new arrival. Jason smiled beneath his helmet at the familiar face.

"Be careful! They're enhanced! Plasma has no effect!" He said, as one of the mostly undamaged men turned to charge Decker without hesitation. The other two stayed on Jason's case, not allowing him a moment more of respite. He unsummoned his scythe, deciding it was only slowing him down. Both his palms now formed balls of red plasma, and he blocked a spinning jump kick to his face from one of the attackers. The other grabbed him by the arm in his distracted state and attempted to initiate a grapple. The third whom was heading for Decker made to strike him with a straight right, but cryptically was too far away to expect it to connect. Then, with the same motion, his forearm disconnected from the rest of his arm and shot forward on a cable, tiny rocket boosters causing it to fly incredibly fast at Decker's gun. As it was a lower-tier plasma weapon, the thing would be broken to pieces if it received the bionic blow.

"This is such a bother." Mint's lips turned into a scowl as she watched another wave of men entered the room she's in. That's probably the strongest expression she had displayed in the entire mission so far. Her plan to end the clash quick was ruined and now she must deal with more people. She hat- didn't like dealing with people. with a swipe of her hand the door in which the men came suddenly slammed shut. Then one by one, the overhead lamps in the room got destroyed by unseen force, leaving the room in pitch black darkness except for nine light sources. Roark's plasma sword and the eight Stardust floating mid-air.

Somewhere in the dark Mint could be heard humming a lullaby but her voice soon got drowned by the sound of Stardusts doing what would be best described as blind bombardment. Without regard, all eight of them started shooting plasma beams to all directions. Everytime someone made a noise or switch on a light source it would drawn one of the Stardust's attention which would immediately shoot at their general direction.

"spray and pray."

Kobe Nathan Wade Kobe Nathan Wade

Some of the men shouted and panicked when the lights went off. One of them ran over to where he knew the door was, and smacked his forehead off of the closed metal surface. When he grabbed desperately at the handle he began to jerk and wiggle it, the tapping and clicks drawing fire from Mint's Stardust which filled the man with holes. His buddies fumbled around in the dark and tripped over the inventory of the room. Crashes and concerned voices lead them all to their deaths in seconds. Roark, however, seemed mildly protected by the fact that he could at least see the drones the plasma beams would come from. Rather than try and block all of the superheated projectiles again with his own plasma weaponry, he dove behind the helicopter. Mint's weapons ate into it's metal with unrestrained fury, melting halfway through it in moments.

After all this, Mint would hear a whistle directly below her. Pointing up in the dark would be a small blue dot she could make out. Then, a moment after, the dot became a continuous beam about the width of a baseball, which would fire at Mint and chase her in whatever direction she flew. The beam was powerful enough to cause piping and stone to come tumbling down where it struck the ceiling.

"Then why are you still using it, Hot Hands?" Decker was quite proud of the damage he managed to do, revealing more of that black subdermal material. 'So if plasma don't work, maybe the old fashioned way will. Or maybe...' The train of thought was unfortunately interrupted by the mook charging him without a care in the world. "Oh this is cute, whatcha got tough guy?" When they wound up for a straight a few meters away, confusion crept its way in to Decker's voice. "Uh, I think you need your eyes...WHOA!" And then the fist detached and rocketed towards him.

Quickly rotating to the side, Decker's right found the emitter that had been dangling freely and grabbed it. Noticing the cable coming out of the rocket fist, there was a test that needed to be performed. 'Plasma don't work on skin, but that ain't skin.' Extending his arm over the length of cable and activating the blade, he pulled back, aiming to cut the cable with his plasma dart. His left still holding the plasma gun, he hip-fired a few shots at the mook, trying to hit him in the groin for maximum disrespect. Would it do much? Of course not, but it would still knock him back a bit and would give Decker an idea of just how much pain they could feel under that subdermal layer.

"Because my weapon is too fucking slow!" Said the red ranger, taking a wheel kick to the helmet which sent him plummeting into the wall a few yards behind him. The other men wasted no time honing in, and he ducked the punch only for the man to impale the wall with his bare fist. The other one aimed an uppercut at Jason while he was bent over, but the man darted beneath the arm of the first and out of range. He then stood up and assumed a more traditional kickboxing stance, but kept his balls of plasma active. The squared up with the cybernetic enforcer, whom aimed a couple sloppy punches his way. Jason parried and bobbed, then let out a combo which seemed to have some effect. On the last punch, he stumbled back and gripped his head in pain. His partner maneuvered around him and locked up with Jason, the two trading blows equally for a moment before the enemy got the better of the ranger with another head kick at the end of a tricky feint, which caused Jason to stumble back once more.

The chord Decker made contact with which connected the cyborg's flying fist to the rest of his arm had sparks flying off of it as it's owner reeled it in. The dart had no effect, and the chord was apparently the same material as their exoskeleton. It's owner then doubled over, grabbing his groin just as his hand had returned. He seemingly shook off the pain, and covered the distance between he and Decker. The cyborg let loose a flurry of three jabs in succession at Decker's nose, which to anyone who was not a ranger would look like a complete blur.

Mint didn't like darkness. No, she wasn't afraid of it. She just dislike it. The lacks of visual stimulus made her uneasy. Yet she was fascinated by the sight in front of her. Stardust's massacre was being highlighted due to the limited light inside the room. Mint could see the beam pierced a man's chest or the other beam blast someone's head. Was she wrong for actually enjoy this? She know very well Professor Ender would be disappointed if he know about this though.

Mint was too focused on the killing that she almost didn't notice the blue laser ained at her, but at the last second he eyes caught a glimpse of it and her mind immediately yelled, 'laser focus!'. She frantically propelled herself to the left, barely dodging the beam. She didn't expect the loud thud as her head hit a metal shelf and made it tumble down the floor. Her head felts a bit wet, but she couldn't stop to check it as she crashed several other shelves in her attempt to outmanouver the beam. She might be able to float and all, but she didn't have darkvision and didn't bother to memorize the location of every single objects before she popped those light.

"Thermal vision? Sonar?" Mint mumbled to herself in frustation as she hit a wooden box this time. If she wasn't a ranger she would likely already knocked herself out with those concussions. Her only weapon right now was the Stardust. After receiving her mental command, all the drones shifted their attention towards the source of the beam and rained plasma beams on it.

"GAH FUCK," Yelled Mickey's voice out of the blackness below Mint. The sound of a wet splatter after the firing of her drones denoted the man had likely taken heavy damage when trying to dodge the barrage which came from right over top of him.

"MICKEY! Are you alright buddy?!" Yelled Roark from behind his cover. The sound of his footsteps could be heard running towards his friend's location, and then the dragging of his body across the pavement floor followed. "We aren't being paid enough for this man, I'm beaming us out,"

"If we skip out of Takemora now, we're fucking dead," Said Mickey, seething in pain,

"If we keep fighting this psycho we're going to be dead anyways-!" At the end of Roark's sentence his voice trailed off as if disappearing down a very long hallway gradually, and a bright flash of blue light came from where they hid. Then, the room became eerily silent with only Mint and the bodies she had piled up by the door. The door in question, muffled the continued sounds of combat coming from the room on the other side of it. While there were a couple blasts from a plasma gun here and there, it was remarkably less quiet than when Mint had first heard commotion from that direction.

The blue ranger let out a laugh at hearing his teammate's issue. "Point still stands, Red Hot." Really, he would have taken a moment to watch Jason get tag teamed by the two mooks, but there was a slight issue in that plan. That cable was not cut. "Ah. Well shit." The reaction of the mook he shot below the belt did give him some information on exactly how much these guys could deal with when it came to pain. Something that might have been communicated, if the guy hadn't decided to close the distance as he was talking. 'One of these days, my mouth's gonna get me killed.'

Jab number one was avoided as Decker moved to the side, while he ducked and wove to avoid the second. The third strike seemed to connect, Decker's body rotating to the left but instead of stumbling back, he launched a roundhouse at the mook's head. Quickly recovering, he began to move with a strange sense of rhythm, keeping his body in constant motion. In an attempt to get the goon on the ground, Decker went low to launch out a sweep kick before attempting to back up.

"Silent, dizzy." Mint tried to listen to the sudden silence to make sure no one was still alive but her head was buzzing and throbbing, probably because the fresh wounds on her head were leaking out blood. She couldn't focus much to maintain precise control of Stardust so she ordered them to vanish. Mint decided to sit down and thinking about what she needs right now, ignoring the sounds of gunfire on the outside.

"Desinfectant... bandage... glucose..." Her mind trailing into lesss and less important things like sofa, games and potato chips. She forgot that she haven't finish making some character models for her game. She was worried if she gave her cats too much dried foods recently. Or that she might had purchased too much virtual collectible cards of her favorite Cuddle Monster.

What was she was doing here again?

Oh yeah. The mission. She should help Jason outside.

"Weapon. Weapon. Weapon." Non-chalantly stepping over dead bodies scattered throughout the storage, Mint slowly scanned through the debris while holding her throbbing head. It's rather hard looking through all these wreckage with only her floating phone as a light source but this room seemed to be filled with various kind of weapons and vehicles so she hoped she would find something good here.

Decker's round house kick found it's mark on the man's jaw and the concussive force seemed to do just the same as it would to any human. His body crumpled to the floor in an unconscious heap. Jason, however, was quickly being overwhelmed by two opponents, and if he had not had his ranger armor on all the blows to his head surely would have had the same effect. He seemed to be growing frustrated, and his movements became more violent and less controlled. In any case, it was working. He had taken to grappling instead, and changing levels down to one knee he hoisted one man over his shoulders.

Quickly letting his opponent tumble overtop and smack his back on the pavement, Jason came out of the maneuver on top and quickly stood up. He stomped on the man's throat before he could rise from his dazed state on the ground, and the man choked out a cry of pain. His partner's fist had caught air as Jason predicted the attack from behind. He then grabbed the man's arm and yanked to make him stumble. The ranger's own hands began to glow red up to his forearms, and he grabbed the man around the throat. The fake skin seared away from his neck and face, and then immediately following so did the layer of carbon under mesh beneath that. The man's strange black face looked confused as he grabbed at Jason's arms in vein attempting to stop the inevitable. He then went limp. Red plasma dripped off the ends of Jason's fingertips for a moment before it too faded, but not before creating marble-sized holes in the concrete floor of the basement.

Jason breathed heavily for a moment, and then straightened up. He tapped the side of his helmet and it dematerialized in a puff of red smoke, and he turned around to face the Blue Ranger.

"Thanks for that, are you alright? I'm not sure I could have taken all three of them. Wait, is he-? Is he knocked out? Damn, Grayson, you are a professional. Where's Blaun?" He said almost pleasantly over catching his breath.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Pink Ranger was fumbling around in the dark for weapons of the highest caliber, such as the type one would find in a billion-dollar-black-market-warehouse. Around her were many weapons of such caliber, however almost all were firearms. There was a long box which the gunmen were hiding behind before Stardust Eradicated them, who's lid had been partially destroyed by the blasts. Underneath resting on straw was a plasma rifle nearly twice the size of her body, with a scope of almost half that length. It's barrel had the width of a softball, and the label read "Zero Star - XX79," For a man of any size it would be nearly impossible to move without it's rocket-thruster turret, and difficult even then. For someone with telekinesis, it would be like holding a toy. Outside the room she was perusing, the fighting had gone nearly silent, and a voice rang out from within.

"Where's Blaun?" It echoed.

Mint took her time in browsing the storage for weapon. Like, REALLY took her time with it. It's like she forgot that she was looking for weapon to help Jason and Decker outside in the first place. Her eyes darted between one magnificent weapon to another magnificent weapon like a kid in a brand new candy store.

"I stumbled upon the last boss' loots room." She said with an obvious but still restrained excitement. If only she had Decker's spatial power she would try smuggling this all out for herself.

Oh, yeah. Decker. Jason. Must help.

Her pick lies on a gigantic rifle labeled Zero Star. The oversized weapon started floating and following Mint out of the storage like an obedient dog. Mint glanced around and was looking rather disappointed when she spotted her colleagues with defeated enemies near them.

"I want to try the Zero Star..." She mumbled to herself, but then quickly waved her hands to draw their attention.

"I found weapon room!"

Seeing the goon fall to the ground, Decker took a steadying breath and gave him a once over. Unlike his red counterpart, it looked like he hadn't burned too much energy during the fighting. Jason's comment towards his abilities warranted at the very least an eyeroll. "Really, Toasty? Led you and the SDF on a chase for the better part of a week and you still had doubts?" As if to answer the question, the mook under him groaned. Decker responded by kicking him in the face again, sending him back to the land of the unconscious. "Always double tap." Another kick to the head, just to illustrate the point, firmly discouraged further movement. "Guy's gonna have a hell of a headache tomorrow. As far as Headcase, I ain't seen her."

Mint made her presence known and Decker's jaw hit the floor. Was it because of the state of her head wound and all the black gunk that was clinging to her? Of course not. It was because she was using her mind powers to hold up a weapon he'd only heard about. "I'm sorry, is that a Zero Star XX79 plasma rifle? The thing that even the military is kinda skittish on usin because a stray shot could level an entire city block?" The Blue Ranger looked to his teammates, not really asking for an answer. "And we're sure we want her with that kinda firepower?"

"Yeah yeah, keep your pants on before you go stroking yourself any further," Said Jason with a genuine smile at Decker's comments to his own abilities. He flinched at his teammate giving the man on the ground what was surely a minor concussion after the third blow. "ALRIGHT! Jesus, lucky there are no cameras in the room. You're kind of a cop now, restrain them after the first knockout next time my man," Even so, Jason laughed at this too just a tad. Walking over to the man he hoisted him up and pulled some hand cuffs from his utility belt. While lacking any technological features, they did seem very thick and made for enhanced humans. "We're lucky they didn't just run

When effected by Mint's powers, the metal on the Zero Star turned into a sort of rose gold tint. The glowing parts of the body where the plasma energy was built up and focused also turned from blue to pink, matching her Stardust. This happened just in time for Jason and Decker to notice. Jason nearly agreed with Decker, but his brow furrowed and he thought better of it seeing the weapon immediately synchronize with Mint's colors.

"Wait, what the? It is a Zero Star, but those things aren't pink... Keep it on you, Blaun. It seems like it's adapted to you somehow... At the very least we'll need to have Piper check it out, but, um, don't use it until you've had some practice, yeah?"

The Red Ranger, now officially accompanied by his team on their first mission, lead them up the emergency staircase at the corner of the room. When they did, they were met with a parking garage which had been cleared of cars and replaced with SDF vehicles, agents, and police lines. The lights blinded them as they emerged, and they noticed many of the gang members and their hired engineers and technicians had been rounded up upon their own exit. The SDF had been waiting for them like a snake being smoked out of a hole. Faunt informed the team during their debriefing that Bryson had been killed in action. During the boxing match, the man he was facing had his head blown off by Bryson's abilities, denoting the lack of control the former black ranger had over his abilities. He had been gunned down by Shu's men on sight, and the whole thing quickly became a media disaster. Six men of note had escaped the casino unscathed.

Mickey Stronghold, an enhanced human known for his talent for espionage and marksmanship. The extent of his cybernetics were unknown, but his most notable are the robotic eyes he had implanted. They allow him to hit his target from miles further than any conventional sniper, and coupled with the blasters implanted in his fingertips he is nothing short of a human weapon.

Roark Valetti, a mercenary who was formerly a member of Super Mechana's military. He defected shortly after taking part in a massacre of a nearby planet in the system, and has been found working for several different criminal organizations as a bodyguard or assassin since then. He has no enhancements to speak of. He and Mickey Stronghold seem to have a professional relationship, working in the same organizations more often than not.

Samora and Shival, two members of the reptilian Gorgan race of people. Their planet was decimated in a war with the Human Empire nearly two centuries ago, and their people are spread throughout the stars because of this. Most of them hate humans.

Briggum Voltair, a large bruiser of a man never seen without his master, Shu Takemora. He has a blood oath to protect his employer at all costs. His abilities are completely unknown.

A week has passed since the first mission of the Neon Team. Faunt, along with the board of directors, decided it was best the team lay low after the media fiasco following Bryson's on-camera death and the escape of their primary target. As such, the team has been more or less confined to their penthouse and the city blocks surrounding the SDF HQ. They found that each room assigned to them was the size of a luxury apartment in itself, complete with amenities. As such, Jason hadn't felt the need to leave the space, but as he turned on the TV in the shared living room to check the news this morning, he was feeling restless.

Octavia Rook

Since the mass-escape at Rook Supermax, still a hefty tenth of the convicts housed in the facility's cells were unaccounted for. Octavia's family, ever the PR hounds, had the public believing that the implosion was responsible for all the missing prisoners, and that burried underneath (and entombed inside) the imploded rubble, were the personel and wrong-doers that weren't fortunate enough to get out. While she had no doubt that the underside of the extremely dense remains of the wing probably looked like a mass grave, Octavia also knew it was just a blanket excuse. As precaution, a master list of the missing prisoners was announcing publicly, along with instructions for citizens of Super Mechana to report sightings 'on the off chance some of them had managed to evade recapture.'

That master list became Octavia's hit-list, as even after her family made her 'disappear,' her sense of duty remained. With the help of some unbranded, full-body Rook combat armor she had stashed away, she joined the ranks of Super Mechana's unorganized legions of vigilantes. (There were a lot more of them than she thought.) From behind that helmet, she'd managed to bring in a grand total of five high-profile targets and anonymously submit them to SDF custody. But none of them could compare to the animal she was hunting now.

Ferro, an utter beast she had the misfortune of meeting while he was imprisoned in her family's advanced facilities. Unpredictable in the worst way, there was always a constant risk keeping him behind bars. Even before the implosion, she was aware Rook Supermax wouldn't be able to contain him forever. It was always just a matter of when he'd bust out purely by his alien strength and go out on a rampage. Octavia didn't know what he was planning now, but she knew he was smarter than most. Rather than stick around and hide in the monolithic city, Ferro was in the wilds, making himself at home amongst the closest thing to monsters the Earth ever saw. Finding giant reptiles massacred in his wake didn't exactly fill her with confidence for their inevitable clash, but she was far from just a member of the inordinately, impressively built Rook clan anymore. The implosion had given her a few tricks of her own to fight back with. That and... A really heavy hammer.

Several miles through prehistoric jungle (and one squished microraptor) later, the brush lightened up. The bogs and greenery eventually gave way to arid desert, leaving no place for her prey to hide. About 200 meters away, by her judgement, was Ferro. The big lumbering bastard's hands were still bloody, red enough that she could make out the crimson while she hid prone in the grass.

Mint Blaun

Mint finished her first mission, but for some reason she didn't feel good about it. It's like something kept making her feeling uneasy. Was it because she killed a bunch of people? Was it because of her co-worker's death? Was it because they failed the objective? Of course not! Mint's mind denied all that. This uneasiness... this must be because... cats, or lack thereof. Hence why a few days after the mission Mint adopted eight kittens from a shelter. Yes, eight. They usually scattered around inside Mint's room and it was quite a mess for the first few days. However, Mint started to develop a strange ability and claimed that she could talks to cat now. The kittens became uncannily well-behaved and follow all of her wimps.

Also, she discussed things about equipment with Piper. First, she handed the Zero Star over and told her about the strange interaction with her ranger's power. Second, she gave Piper a 10-pages worth of equipment requests for the next mission, whatever it would be. From things like adamantium chakrams and plasma sword to small mundane stuffs like rum raisin ice cream and jasmine perfume. Reading the list would make one wonders whether Mint was asking for equipments or just wants a portable base altogether.

Decker Grayson

While Decker was keen to get his own shot back at Jason for the excessive force thing, there was a slightly more pressing issue in his mind. "So we're just gonna let her keep the heavily regulated, potentially city destroying weapon?" The fact that the rifles color scheme had changed to match hers seemed to indicate a yes no matter what he said. "Whatever, just keep that thing pointed the fuck away from me. Not willing to test if redirection beats point-blank vaporization." Once the group was out of the tunnels and in the garage, Decker had to squint his eyes to adjust to all the lights. Even then, he did have to be himself. "All this, just for us? Seems a bit excessive." He didn't have to be a professional in comedy to understand that the crowd wasn't going to have any of it.

Bryson's death hit Decker more than Mint or Jason. Sure, they wouldn't have been the best of friends, but he was a nice refreshing take from the Spire kids he was currently trapped with. That and the insanity of sending new Rangers on this kind of mission the day they all met where they didn't know the extent of what their powers could do. Some of that energy was channeled into his own personal training on his power, now able to warp things to him without shorting out his boosted awareness. His armor had yet to fully manifest, only appearing in quick bursts and disappearing just as fast.

Socially, he managed to walk around and make sure everyone was doing OK on the team. A member did die after all, and he wasn't exactly wanting to break out and cause problems today, even if Mint's cats were starting to freak him out a little. Between that hanging out around HQ, and chatting with Piper, he sent a few encrypted messages to his crew at Lakes and Lyres to get them to gather info on Takemora and associates. The one thing he was having difficulty adjusting to was the sunlight actually reaching him at all. Suffice to say, his blinds were closed all the time. The rare times he did venture out, it was exclusively to get food while entirely unaware of the attention his ratty old clothing was bringing in the Spire.

This specific morning he found Jason staring at the news, clearly antsy. Decker sat down nearby, looking the Red Ranger over before turning his attention to the news. Thankfully, the news was bereft of anything on their mission. Instead, a piece on a few new vigilantes was on with the reporter theorizing that the reappearance of Rangers had let to a noted uptick in vigilante activity. "Red, you doin' alright? You're lookin' pretty wound up."

Ferro looked ahead unto the mountainous region on the horizon. As the sun beat down upon his metal skin, he cursed it's very existence. On the frigid home world of his people, the temperature never rose above thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, if he hadn't subjugated and mounted his new pet Triceratops to carry him across the Serengeti-like area of the Jurassic period Sanctuary, he would surely have collapsed from exhaustion by now.

Mistress, He said in his head, Why have you forsaken me? I am sorry I was captured. Please, Rita my queen, take me back into your fold. He squinted ahead, trying to judge the distance to the nearest shade tree, standing alone on the plains. On top of the lumbering lizard, Ferro looked almost like a normal cowboy atop a horse. He gripped the reigns he had woven from vines, more out of nervousness than a desire to steer his pet. The bit made from a large water-logged tree trunk creaked in the creature's jaw as it gnawed on it. The giant alien had no idea that, a ways behind him, was a woman who had been tracking him for weeks.

Jason Scott Lee

Jason sighed when Decker spoke to him. He didn't know what was giving him this sense of urgency, and it made him even more uneasy that it was noticeable.

"Man, it's this whole f*cking thing," Said Jason, suddenly having an outlet to voice his feelings, "I was an agent less than six months ago, and now I'm on house arrest... I can deal, but that total failure of a mission is fucking killing me. All of it was my idea. I told them you all seemed capable, and that a field test was the best way to gauge your commitment but... Now a man is dead. I've seen agents die before, but Bryson... he didn't ask for that. None of us did," The Red Ranger seemed to be figuring out his thoughts as he spoke, "I'm supposed to be a leader, I'm the actual agent, and I got him killed. It was fucking pitiful," Jason didn't seem to be able to stop himself from talking. He threw a sideways glance at his new friend on the couch, and blew air out his nose at his own expense, "You know what? That's all bullshit. No one's ever gained anything by feeling sorry for themselves. What I really need is some damn excitement! I'm just going stir crazy sitting around with nothing to think about but our last mission. Let's go train! Getting my blood pumping would be good for me, how about you?" The Ranger's entire energy changed as suddenly as he had begun rambling, and he hopped up from his place on the wrap-around sofa.

"The 'Rumpus Room' is just down the hall. State of the art. You still can't summon your armor, right? Let's go fix that," And with that Jason headed for the door. When he reached it and yanked on the handle, Piper shrieked and jumped. "Oh, shit, sorry Pipes. Didn't know you were there," Piper laughed off the freight and pushed her orange bangs back behind her ear.

"It's alright, I was just about to knock. Bad timing. I've got some new software to install on the Big One," She said, motioning towards the supercomputer on the far side of the room. "Fresh off the Piper Presses! Afterwards I've got to kidnap Mint for a while. She gave me this list and... well it's a bit hard to follow, but I've got a surprise for her. Is she in?"

"Yeah, she's in her room, come in," Jason stepped aside so that she could come in. She glanced Decker's direction, and raised one eyebrow at him as she made her way across the room to her control panel.

"Hey Blue," She said with an air of aloofness that did little to hide the butterflies.

"OH, PIPER?!" The woman turned around suddenly when Jason exclaimed for no reason.

"WHAT?!"

"What's the word on the Zero Star?"

"Oh, sh*t, I nearly forgot. The diagnostics just came in last night and I was... celebrating St. Paddy's day... Anyways, take a look at this," She finally sat down and plugged a thumb drive into the supercomputer, "From what I remember this sh*t is crazy," Her eyes wandered over the files and technical jargen for a moment before she was able to translate it to the two men, "Essentially, it's been upgraded, which shouldn't even be possible considering it's one of the strongest plasma rifles ever created. The metal is on par with your Ranger Suits now, the heat of the plasma is... otherworldly. If I'm speculating, which I am, I'd say whatever technology powers your abilities as rangers can take in new tech and integrate it into whatever you already have. Expand your arsenal, and upgrade anything you touch into S-tier. I can't tell you how it works, but boy does it F*cking work," Jason seemed speechless at the new information at first.

"So you mean to tell me, I could have had something other than a giant scythe to fight this whole time?"

"That's what I mean to tell you,"

"But wait, Grayson picked up a plasma gun in the basement, why didn't that upgrade?"

"I don't know, Jason, I'm not a ranger! If I had to guess, I'd say the Blue Ranger already has access to something better in the past, but Decker just doesn't know it. So the suit didn't feel the need to pick it up. Limited storage, y'know? Now get, I've got software to run," She shooed Jason away and turned back to the screen. He looked Decker's direction, and raised his brows. Seeming to say,

You get all that???
