What if it was used to teach children emotional intelligence? Or even with developing (or adult) psychopaths?

You'd technically be teaching them to read the technology first, not the facial expressions or body language that properly represent emotions. There's a chance they could still learn the two, but they would look first to the technology and then secondly to the human wearing it.

Definitely in places like North Korea I could see that happening haha, or perhaps conservative Middle Eastern countries

Ohhh, that's an interesting thought! Perhaps it is used in schools in health class to develop an idea of how experiences effect people. Or even in prisons to help with prisoners become more aware of how they feel and how others feel for a smoother transition into society once their sentence is over.

On another topic, what do you think of Hailey and Jaako being acquaintances?

It certainly would be a process to connect the two for some people! Not nearly as hard as reading people emotions purely from their expressions though.

Not as difficult, no. But learning a secondhand expression could further complicate the process. It could also separate them from the human socialization. They'd look at the technology for understanding and, for me anyways, I would dislike everyone looking to my necklace for understanding. I would rather the person learn to understand me.

Firstly awwwh! I have two guinea babies as well. Cupcake and Nugget. They are such cuties. Also I would totally buy that invention, I dream pretty regularly. If I could remember them a bit more I could probably make some crazy short stories out of them.

Agreed! I use fleece liners I made myself for their cage so I get to use some really cute designs for them. I just love their ecstatic noises once you walk in the room.

I could support my Starbucks addiction if I found a way to spend a bunch of money upfront and then avoid a continual cost over time. I'd no doubt save more money spending it on laundry detergent than the bedding in bulk. I had been considering switching to some kind of blanket/towel option for them not long ago, but I haven't the faintest idea where to start. I'm not very crafty either, so I'm not confident that I could make little blankets for them. They have a fairly large cage to run around in, too, because I can't let them run around in my room (I'm renting a bedroom in a townhouse, so they have to be in a cage or in my lap at all times).

I get excited about repetitive dreams unless it's a repetitive nightmare. D:

I'd invest in this invention. Some of my dreams have a cracking conflict - if only I could remember them!

Anyhow, as you'll all have seen, Lioness075 has been accepted! I've just finished the character database, extra language lore and NPCs section (in the lore thread!) as per promise - please do familiarise yourselves with them! Regarding the latter, it's currently populated with my characters who will fill the plot but if you have subplot ideas of your own that involved NPCs then be sure to message me! I've copied over the language lore here so you don't have to go searching:

Culturally, the close geographical proximity of the remaining universe means that society has been reduced to a single language without a name, a linguistic singularity achieved by centuries of language growth. All arriving Watchers are equally disadvantaged by having to learn this new language as part of their training, though technology exists to ease their transition.

I've also added a section on chapters and objectives to the Rules/CS page - it should give some details about how the RP's gonna be structured. Otherwise, my plan is to open up the RP for submission tomorrow with a more casual setting, starting with the team briefing and allowing people to have their characters interact before we leap into the action. Then a few days later, we'll timejump ever so slightly into the first major scene and get this show on the road!

Your present task then is to chat with each other and potentially establish acquaintances. Apocalypz is a small world and some of your characters who've been Watchers for a bit of a time may have heard of some of the other ones, or even served alongside them! This is non-essential and dependent on character (my character Leo for example will only know those who like him have only just finished training) but gives you an opportunity to make some interesting character dynamics before we begin writing! Other than that it'd be nice to get some writer introductions from those yet to provide them ( Prizzy Kriyze , Reis ).

Otherwise it'd be helpful for me if I could get a progress update on those applying/who have showed an interest -> Epiphany , Lemon Boy , ShadyAce , Sacrosanctis and anybody else I'm currently unaware on!

As for myself, I'm still brewing on a concept. I'm on my anniversary right now and won't be back for a few days, though. I mostly like eating vanilla (don't judge! >.<) but it could also make more exotic flavors like oreo. In fact it would actually just make every flavor. Those dark nights of disappointing desserts would be no more! Of course I would also start an ice cream business and sell infinite amounts of ice cream and make a lot of money.

That's a great idea! I can totally see them getting along and bonding over their cluelessness in this technologically dominant world. She's pretty quiet at first but I can see her warming up to him, given that he's the more talkative one. They're both pretty good-natured people and I can see her being totally intrigued by the way he looks. As she's from 16th century China, she has never seen anyone who is non-Asian. She likely had always heard stories about white people with their light skin and big eyes (since that was when the Europeans started to trade with the East), but never someone so dark like him. I know he has deep trust issues, but they probably spent a lot of time together since they needed the same amount of training, given that both of them had zero idea how technology works and had to learn English as well, so I can see them getting kind of close

Haha I would be so entertained to have this! I always forget my dreams, but they're always super weird haha. And I don't think I've ever been able to control my dream... there's been a couple of times where I know that I'm in a dream, but never been able to control my surroundings (it's called lucid dreaming i think)

Ugh ice cream is definitely my favorite dessert! I used to eat vanilla ice cream with sprinkles all the time as a kid. Nowadays, I'm more into mint chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, cookie dough, etc.

What are some repeated dreams you guys have? Apparently they're supposed to mean something

My dreams are never more than 80% the same. Though there are almost always common themes. Running from something, zombies, monsters, natural weird disasters, or just... something. The curious part is, while there is a sort of adrenaline rush, there never was really any fear. Like I knew exactly what the danger was, or maybe because I knew I was just dreaming. There's also a good amount of flying in most of my dreams. Never once on a 'proper flying contraption' of course. No planes, helicopters or even jetpacks. It's always stuff like bicycles, sleeping pillows arranged in a 'T' that magically stuck together when u lay on top of them, bunch of balloons, umbrellas... etc. xD
