So this is Vaniville Town. Toby looked at the town as he walked closer under the cover of the night. A pokemon laughed in the darkness besides the white haired teen as steeped onto the bridge.
"Shadow," Toby addressed the Gengar as he looked up at his friend. "find some goods." Shadow laughed as he soon vanished to steal local goods. It was going to be early morning when new trainers woke up to find that they were missing pokeballs and potions.
Pacey woke up earlier than usual in Vaniville Town. He was sleeping on a park bench, probably appearing to be homeless, because he was attacked by a bunch of wild Pidgey. While he was coming to Vaniville, He had traveled by foot from Santalune City. While it was a one day trip, he had to go through mud and forests and many things. Luckily, the Pidgey didn't show up until the very end.
Phil had done his best to protect Pacey, but wasn't strong enough to fend off the whole flock of about thirty Pidgey. It was just too much. Pacey became exhausted and fell asleep on the closest park bench, with peck marks and bruises. He was used to the bruises, but he had never been attacked by a wild Pokemon before. Not on his own body. They usual just dealt with other Pokemon.
Pacey woke up and saw a figure standing about thirty yards away. He appeared to be waiting on something or someone. It was too dark for Pacey to make out any shapes of the person. Pacey slowly stood up, and a wave of nausea ran through him. He needed more sleep, but he couldn't fall asleep in the cold of the night. He needed some help.
Pacey limped to the figure and said, "Can you help me? I need to find somewhere to rest."
Toby was caught off guard as he looked at the teen limping towards him. "Oh my..." Well, this was a new predicament that the thief hadn't dealt with before. Looking around for anyone else, the white haired teen slowly walked over and placed his arm underneath Pacey's. "This is new..." Toby said these words under his breathe as he started to walk to a nearby pokecenter.
"Listen," The young thief spoke calmly as he held the other near the entrance. "I can''t go in there, but Nurse Joy is sure to help you." Toby's red eyes seemed to glow in the dark as he slowly moved his arm from under Pacey's. At this moment, the air around the two seemed to get colder as a purple pokemon with glowing red eyes appeared near the teen.
"Gen, Gengar." Shadow was holding various items from pokeballs to protein. The Gengar's smile turned into a frown as he stared at the injured human near Toby. "Don't worry, Shadow..." Toby whispered this as he opened the glass doors. "He won't know..."
Pacey felt his body start to lose consciousness. He was glad that the other boy decided to help him. It was all he needed. The boy said something about Nurse Joy and not being able to go in, but Pacey couldn't process it. He caught a glimpse of a purple Pokemon and large red eyes, before he passed out and fell through the doors to the Pokemon Center.
Toby looked at the unconscious teen before he heard the scream of a Nurse Joy. "I'm going to have to find out about this guy later..." Toby didn't say much as he started to run silently. The Gengar quickly following after him as a few items and berries where dropped. Shadow and Toby didn't really care about tat right now.
(Yeah, but I think we should only make one post a piece for now. We can wait for @Kasai Fusui after that.)
Pacey woke up in a hospital bed. He checked his sides for Phil's pokeball, but it wasn't there. He quickly glanced around the room for it, but he still didn't see it.
Pacey tried to sit up, but his body was too sore to do much. He felt much better than he remembered, but that wasn't much. He knew he woke up last night, but he had no memory of what happened after that. It was a big blur. All he remembered were big red eyes.
Pacey tried to yell, but could only get out a small squeal. He had cuts on his throat and it was sore. After a few minutes, Nurse Joy came into the room.
"Oh my, you're awake now. Try to stay down and rest. Your body is in no shape to move at all," Nurse Joy said quickly.
"I think I was attacked by birds. Spearow or Pidgey. I can't remember," Pacey said quickly.
"Probably Pidgey, we don't have Spearow around here. That doesn't matter though. Just try to rest. You need to heal," Nurse Joy said, hitting buttons on machines and muttering things to herself.
"Where's Phil?" Pacey asked.
"Who?" Joy replied.
"My Squirtle," Pacey answered.
"Oh, he was in worse condition than you. Don't worry though, Pokemon tend to heal faster than humans."
Pacey did the closest thing he could to a smile, before snoozing off and falling asleep again.
After that night, a lot of trainers had all started to file complaints with Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny on their missing belongings. No one had any idea on who could have taken so many trainer's items all in a single night.
Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy had both said to talk about who the thief might be. "Well, did you find any of the stolen goods on him?" Jenny had a note pad out as she looked at the pink haired woman.
"No, he didn't have anything besides his trainer I.D., Pokedex, and one pokemon." The nurse looked at the room that Pacey was in. Her eyes showing concern before she looked back at the officer. "I do remember that someone had opened the door but, I couldn't see who it was."
Jenny only nodded as she wrote this all down. "Alright, so you're saying he might have an idea on who the thief is?" Joy only nodded as she watched the officer take her statement. "Tell me when he wakes up so I can talk to him, alright?"
"Of course." Joy gave a kind smile as Officer Jenny soon left her Pokemon Center.
Pacey woke up again an hour or two after the first time and saw Nurse Joy already standing by the door. Pacey felt even better now, at least good enough to maybe walk.
Pacey began to sit up, but Nurse Joy ran over and set her hand on his chest. "Stay down, you need to rest more. You're in no condition to walk. Hold on, give me a moment." Nurse Joy hastily walked out of the room without letting Pacey reply. He was glad that he didn't feel like passing out this time.
A few minutes later, Nurse Joy came in with an Officer Jenny and a Chansey.
"Are you Pacey? I need to ask you about recent robberies that are occurring," Officer Jenny said.
Nurse Joy smacked Jenny in the arm. "Oh, give him a minute. He's still recovering. Here honey, take a bite of Chansey's egg. I promise it will make you feel better." Chansey walked over to Pacey and handed him a piece of her egg. Pacey ate it slowly and instantly felt much better. In fact, he felt some of his cuts heal instantly and his throat was no longer sore.
"Woah, that's a lot better," Pacey said. "I need some more of that."
"No, too much is dangerous for you and Chansey. You should let the rest heal naturally," Nurse Joy said.
"Now, are you ready to answer a few questions?" Jenny asked. Pacey responded with a simple head nod. "Good, now do you remember who brought you here last night?" Jenny questioned.
"Not exactly. It was dark and I was exhausted. All I remember are bright red eyes. In fact, two sets of them," Pacey answered. Jenny and Joy gave each other looks.
"Do you know anything else?" Jenny asked.
"No, that's it. I was too tired," Pacey said.
"The small amount of information you gave me is huge. Thank you Pacey," Jenny said while walking out of the room.
"I hate she does that. But, do you fell well enough to walk?" Joy asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Pacey said while sitting up with more ease than the first time. He managed to kick his legs off the side of the bed and push himself to his feet. He felt a little unbalanced, but that may have been because Phil wasn't there.
"There you go. Come to the lobby, your Squirtle is waiting on you."
Pacey walked as fast as he could to the lobby (not very fast) and saw Phil waiting. The Squirtle was holding his own Pokeball and ran up to Pacey, hugging his leg. Pacey greeted the Pokemon before sticking him in his Pokeball.
Nurse Joy wished him good luck in healing and went back to tend to other patients. Pacey smiled and walked outside, hoping to find the other boy who helped him.
(I know that was a little rushed with the recovery, but it is the Pokemon World. It's been almost two full days, I think we can go ahead now without our third member. If she comes, we can always stick her in somewhere.)
Toby watched silently as Officer Jenny walked out of the Pokemon Center. His red eyes were narrowed into a glare as he waited for the boy from yesterday to come out. Toby had to make sure everything wouldn't point back at him.
Once he saw Pacey leave, Toby sent out Shadow. "Shadow, lead him into the forest." The red eyed trainer's command went through as the Gengar chuckled and landed in front of the now healed boy.
"Gen, Gengar!" Shadow cried out at Pacey as he saw his trainer run back. The shadow pokemon snickered as it started to taunt the teen before snatching an empty pokeball from him. "Gen, Gen, Gengar!~"
Pacey exited the Pokemon Center and was greeted right away by a Gengar. The Gengar gave a quick laugh before snatching one of Pacey's pokeballs. Pacey snatched for the ball, but it hurt to do so. He turned to simply saying, "Hey, give that back. It's not yours."
The Gengar then turned and went toward the forest. Pacey slowly hobbled behind, shouting at the Gengar.
(Sorry, I tried to minimize god-modding. I couldn't think of anythign to write. )
Shadow only laughed louder as he taunted the teen further into the forest. "Shadow," The Gengar stopped as he looked up at his trainer. "Gar?" Toby smiled as he patted the ghost pokemon on the head. "You did a good job."
The red eyed trainer looked up at Pacey as his face went back to being stoic. "Hello again." Toby spoke calmly as Shadow placed the pokeballs into his bag.
Pacey saw that the Gengar stopped. Stopped by a boy. Something else he noticed, they both had red eyes. A small light bulb went off in his head. How many people had red eyes?
"Hey, stop you little thief, that's mine." Luckily, Pacey was in very good shape. While he was slow, he wasn't tired at all. He then realized something else too. "Wait, you were that boy who helped me last night, weren't you?"
Toby nodded as Shadow moved behind the teen's leg. Peeking out from behind it like a little child. "Yes, I am." The white haired teen frowned a bit at having his beloved partner called a thief.
"I would advise you not to call Shadow a thief." Toby spoke calmly as the Gengar shot a mean look at Pacey. "He doesn't like it when people use words like that to address him."
Pacey had a lot of things racing through his head right now. If he had the strength, he would interrogate this guy himself. Pacey scowled and asked, "Well, what is he then? Stealer, snatcher, item-nabber? I think thief sounds right. And if I'm right, you're the one who Jenny is searching for."
Pacey glanced back to see how close Vaniville was. Much too far to safely get any help. Not with this red-eyed freak right there.
"He's Shadow." Toby narrowed his eyes as the Gengar smiled up at him. "And what if I am?" The red eyed teen asked his own question as he stared into Pacey's eyes.
"You have no proof I did it." Toby sounded confident as he got closer to Pacey. Shadow following him as he enjoyed this conversation.
"Well, when you say it like that," Pacey said sarcastically, "It makes me think you didn't do it. Oh, wait. It makes me more suspicious." Pacey eyed the white haired boy. They seemed to be having an intense staring contest.
(Im sorry im so late. I had some emergency babysitting i had to do and my phone died. I have the charger now though so i should be good)
Meanwhile, a girl with long bright red hair that went straight down her back and emerald green eyes walked through the forest. She wore a white almost sleeveless blouse and a bright red pleated miniskirt that matched her hair. Her eevee walking at her side as she heard voices up ahead. She picked up her partner and put her on her shoulder as she crouched down in some bushes nearby, hiding hoping to hear some useful information.
Toby only glared as he looked at Pacey, the teen soon backed away with a slightly creepy smile on his face. "Why don't you go back to town and tell Officer Jenny Tobias Price stole all the items." Toby only gave a dismissive wave before turning round.
Shadow stared up at his trainer in confusion before realizing what Toby was trying to do. "Kekekekekek!" The Gengar laughed loudly as he stared at Pacey.
(Yeah sorry. I just started wating her and i dont have anything but data there. So i had to wait till my mom could bring my charger. But yeah just throw me in somewhere. I dont care where. )
Pacey looked at the boy, namely Tobias, who was clearly pulling a trick of some sort. That was clear. Pacey decided to object instead of listening.
"We both now that you're trying to pull something. Tell me what you want, and we can work something out. Otherwise, we have no business together." Pacey looked at the boy menacingly. Pacey knew he was much stronger, that was obvious to anyone. He didn't know if he had the health to get the better of Tobias right now.
"Why do I need to work something out? I already have all the items I need to make it to the next town." Toby only played around with a pokeball. A smile on his lips as his red eyes stared at Pacey.
"Just ask Jenny about the name and come back here." The teen spoke calmly as Shadow enjoyed watching the scene in front of him. A large smile plastered onto the pokemon's face.
"You know what, I'm clearly in no shape to be on my own right now. How about I go with you and help you, but keep quiet about your little scams. The only thing I want you to help me with is make sure I can get around okay and that I heal. After that, I'll act like we never met. Tell you what, I'll even let you keep that pokeball. We have a deal?" Pacey asked. He was taking a huge chance, but he was taking a huge chance no matter what he did. He was in no shape to be on his own and Tobias was the only person he knew in the area. He needed help. Tobias was the only option.
Toby narrowed his eyes as he thought about this little deal. Well, it made his plans a lot less messier as he nodded. "Alright, if you keep quite to what we do. I'll help you heal, but if I ever get caught hear your name." The teen's red eyes went extremely dark as Shadow took a few steeps towards Pacey. "I will become your worst Nightmare." After saying that, Shadow laughed a little as he danced around Toby's feet.
"Now, we have to start moving then." The white haired teen only picked his bag up and slung it over his shoulder. "I need to get out of here before any of the Arcaine find Shadow's scent here."
