Once again, welcome! This is the OOC thread where we'll keep anyone who hasn't joined the discord posted! You can also ask questions here and pitch ideas for things you want suggest to spice-up events.

We're looking to start the RP itself towards the end of the up-coming week. And with that in mind I've got a few questions for everyone.

Let's start with... which event are you most looking forward?

maybe the fake battle

Oh! Speaking of the Battle Re-Creation, I did want to pitch some things for you all to consider. Since you're only allowed to take one Pokémon into the battle with you then you should try to consider why kind of role you want to play with the larger 'team'.

Of course you could pick a water type or something aquatic to give you an advantage during the Sea-phase but you could also pick a Pokémon that will allow you to create traps (if you're a defender) or something that would help you take down of get over the castle walls (if you're an attacker). These definitely aren't the only roles there are, but you should definitely give it some thought amongst your team members, once teams are formed and all.

Gonna be real, I'm just happy to be here and happy to finally get to RP. I'm not sure which event I'm looking forward to most. But I have to say, expanding on the original description of the castle siege into a multiple part event with unique rulesets for each, took it from a "Maybe I'll try this one out, we'll see how it'd work character wise." to a "There is no universe where we miss out on this one."

Thanks! We did a lot of fiddling and re-working with the events because we want them to be more engaging to RP instead of just...cool in theory.

Like the Archery Competition was originally more straight forward but idk what people would really do apart from describing how they shoot targets...if their character was even familiar with archery to begin with. We did some tinkering and...now it's just Pokémon Call of Duty Team Deathmatch lmao

It certainly wasn't the vision we had going into it but...it was what we came up with.

Of course, if anyone else has ideas we're open to them. There are other things going on in the Medieval Festival besides just the scripted events. If anyone has sub-plots or things that fit the theme/mood they want to try with their characters then definitely suggest them!

We tried to give you a few with the Art Exhibit & Live Plays, fairly sure we mentioned it was possible for OCs to suggest their own plays or art if they'd like to and...on the topic of plays and art, the OC I intend for this RP would like to perform a re-creation of the Musical Six, which is about Henry VIII's six wives. One of his wives, the second, was raised in France plus he invade France a couple times, as is the tradition of English Kings.

All that to say, if anyone wants to be apart of the musical then give me a shout!

You're welcome! Yeah, it's definitely for the better to have more concrete events in place for the bigger parts of the festival, but I will keep my eye out for opportunities for subplots. I know for a fact there will be snippets where I am self-indulging in my love of medieval artwork, but I also want to dip into the actual myths created about the Kalosian legendaries. Especially those that aren't entirely true, or created or altered for specific historical contexts that have past. (IE, akin to how Momotaro was during WW2) Vasya is still a trader and collector of stories, though this time it is entirely of his own free will. As far as Six goes, very excited to see that happen even if I wouldn't be able to participate since I only have male characters prepped for overall RP at the moment. (RIP my girl Laci, you would've slayed as Catherine of Aragon.) I have seen the real deal (Not in person, via slime tutorial) and I remember really enjoying it when it came out. Will be very curious to see who plays which queen, especially Boleyn since it is a Kalosian festival :>

I'm defo looking forward to battle recreation! Getting Flora all dressed up reminds me of that one Lucario...
That movie was actually part of the inspiration for the Battle Recreation!

I'm angling for Anne Boleyn myself, but definitely open to see where the OCs would fit.
