He's tall and stocky, with a build that could give a corn-fed workhorse a run for its money, and he'd rather make a crowd part around him than try and shimmy his way through. His piercing gray eyes rake over whomever they should happen to land on, picking them apart from top to bottom, and on the rare occasion his permanent scowl is replaced it's with a sneering grin. A thin scar snakes along his jawline from his left earlobe down to his chin, but don't let him catch you staring at it.
Personality: Arrogant and assertive, with a voice that comes in a booming bark or a sharp growl, Monty's posture, gaze, and words betray the thought constantly running through his head — he's right, you're wrong, he's better than you, and you'd better figure that out before he tears you down.
He looks down on people he can beat, whether it's in a battle or a fight, and he's quick to start both and never goes in expecting to lose. He despises pity-parties and excuses, and refuses to take part in either when he loses. Instead he internalizes defeat, and relishes the taste of dishing it back out.
That opportunity doesn't always come, though, and that's when Monty finds himself falling in line. The thought of clashing with some people has never crossed his mind, and he understands that there are others who are straight-up stronger than he is. When that's the case, Monty's the ultimate point-and-shooter.
Backstory: Monty's a man with a foot in two worlds, with neither placed there of his own choosing. With one foot, he's a fresh-out hardened gangster raised from birth in a vicious Lumiose City-based mafia as one of their most loyal dogs. With the other foot, he's a fledgling Pokémon trainer on a vague mission from his boss to "get stronger" without any real idea as to why.
As time goes on, and especially as he makes more connections in the latter realm, Monty finds it increasingly difficult to keep his two lives seperate. He feels the most like himself as a gangster among his comrades, and masks his true colors around trainers in an effort to keep his identity hidden. The act is tiring, though, and the more he discovers about himself, the world, and other trainers through his journey the more he questions why he puts it on in the first place.

Physical Appearance (Face claims, art, or written description): Charlie is short and scrawny- particularly compared to the slender and tall Doc. His hair is corn slik blonde, eyes a glowing green. He prefers to wear his typical bright green rain coat with combat boots, and his backpack. Charlie wears a Top Hat with fake bunny ears attached and aviator goggles he dons in battle.
Personality: Charlie is chaotic and eccentric, obsessed with random fixations such as fireworks and fantasy books. He is often hot-headed and brash, quick to challenge people for duels if they offend him- often over slight jokes about his height. If they refuse to battle he just pummels them himself- surprising agility and feral strength. He hates the mistreatment of Pokemon and has even spent hours experimenting on Pokeballs to build superior places for his friends, each the size of a basketball- stacked in his bag- if they aren't just sitting in the massive hiking pack or following him.
Backstory/Short Synopsis: Charlie was abandoned as a child, left in the woods for unknown reasons. Charlie was raised by various pokemon that found him, before guiding him to an academy. After becoming a trainer and befriending a few pokemon, he set off to free all the pokemon of the world- duwling pokemon trainers and "freeing" Pokemon

Personality: Yuna is warm and protective of those she is close to or feels responsible for. Even so, she can be stubborn about her beliefs, including the importance of her culture. She does her best to keep her negative emotions behind a calm, impassive face.
Backstory: Yuna was born in Mossdeep City. Like many others, in her youth, Yuna aspired to be an incredible Pokémon Trainer. At the age of 14, she attempted the Hoennian Gym Challenge, catching and training up a team of Pokémon. But, unlike most of her peers, there was a point in the challenge at which she couldn’t progress any farther. When she faced the Fire type gym, no matter what she tried, she couldn’t defeat the gym leader. It is 50k words. Yes, it is unreasonably long. I don't expect anyone to read the whole thing, so please treat it like a character encyclopedia. Main trainer bio is pages 1-35, core pokemon team is pages 35-62 and the rest are pokemon reserves. In addition, the bio code used here and within the RP portions was done by CloudySkyLoftyMoon. Mad respect and a massive thanks to him for getting my jank ass layout design into something functional.

Hakusan's apperance is quite striking. He's not exactly "handsome", as one could say but very good looking. Pristine, white hair spewed all over his shoulder and went over his chest and covered his eyes. Tied into a low ponytail with a black bow, Hakusan's back hair sometimes rests over his shoulders and back, sometimes being mistaken for his full, untied hair. Staring from underneath his white bangs were pale skin and emerald green eyes and expression that look troubled as his default.

Personality: At first glance, Hakusan has an extremely sombre personality. Living a detached lifestyle, Hakusan's observant and quiet nature heightens. Reading body language and facial expression easily, he has no problem pointing them out in private as he prefers to discuss such things individually. However, he cares too much for others that he neglects himself and his desires, shredding time for his own goals to help others.
Background: A wandering painter from Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. A lone orphan with no clear parents or guardian in sight, Hakusan got quite used to being alone, making it a big chunk of his childhood. For as long as he could remember, the cold climate of Snowpoint bit into his skin as he huddled up in the corner. One day while brushing a Skitty with his fingers who skipped over to him looking for warmth, the wrinkly fingers of an elderly woman reached out to him. The elderly woman made him an offer. If he finds a pokemon whom he will bond with and become his partner, she would let him stay. If she doesn't, she'll leave him here to freeze. So, with little options, Hakusan took her hand, letting go of the Skitty who followed the elder lady with a joyful meow.
For some reason, there were three residents already living with the elderly lady. Hakusan was...curious. He thinks. The others were very intimidating. Hiding behind the door frame, Hakusan struggled to gather the courage to step foot into the house until he felt a pair of observant eyes upon the back of his head. A shiver went down his spine as he spun around immediately but saw nothing but the snowy landscapes. Nothing? A disappointed yet relieved sigh exited his mouth as he went into the house.
Six out of the seven days went by. Every day, Hakusan would go out into the wilderness as much as he was allowed. He'd try to bond with each pokemon he'd met only to flee or nearly attack him. There was one particular pokemon he'd seen in the corner of his eye, however. It had the same gaze as the curious gaze he felt before but the pokemon would run off before he could interact. Hakusan started to lose hope as the days slipped by. Once again scrunched up by a tree, he could hear something approach him before-

A breeze swept his hair as a Fairy wind blocked a Thunder Punch from a Beartic. As the freezing pokemon fled, Hakusan stared at the black and yellow pokemon standing next to him. This pokemon felt familiar, it's red eyes looking at him as it's jawed ponytail bounced as it's dashed up to him in worry.
Timeskip to a decade later. Living under the roof of the elderly lady while going in and out of the city. But alas, it was time for him to explore the world on his own. Looking down at Melian, the Mawile he had met all those years ago, Hakusan grabbed his backpack before he could hear one of the residents' voices behind him.

Deaucalion is an eager and slightly airheaded boy who's always looking for "rare Pokemon", many of which are only depicted with crude drawings and have almost no basis in reality, although it could also be because he is very bad at explaining, describing, and recalling things. It's not that his memory is bad, he simply has problems speaking about facts in a way that other people will understand. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about myths and legends, but he has some very unusual ideas about what legendary Pokemon are like.
Although he isn't super interested in competing in battle tournaments, he doesn't mind getting stronger and creating bizarre strategies that may help him track down those "rare Pokemon" he is looking for.
-Backstory-
Growing up in Artazon in an artist family, Deaucalion had always had an...avant garde style of art to say the least. This caused him to sometimes feel out of the loop, but was never overly discouraged. Instead, the boy found passion in myths and legends of the world after his grandmother was commissioned to create illustrations for a picture book.
During her work, Deaucalion's grandmother reminisced to him about an extraordinarily rare Pokemon she once witnessed in her youth. It was supposedly a long, serpentine creature that is pink in colour, but also had a golden shimmer and what seemed like wings. It fit no description of existing Pokemon species, legendary or not. All the other Pokemon her grandmother spoke about were recorded well enough for them to be featured in various illustrations and academic material, but only the legendary pink serpentine did not have a name or a clear image.
This legend motivated Deaucalion to set off on a Pokemon journey to find this extremely rare Pokemon, or even any information of it. Even though his grandmother said she witnessed the pink serpentine Pokemon in Paldea, Deaucalion knew that powerful legendary Pokemon would migrate from region to region very often, so he decided to do the same eventually, leaving home and wandering wherever rare Pokemon are said to be found.

This is only the surface though, as he is often critical of people who do things he views as reckless or stupid. This is somewhat hypocritical as he often can't help but get involved with various things himself, especially in the face of people or Pokemon in danger. Ultimately he is just looking out for others, despite acting like he doesn't care, deep down he truly cares about the safety of others no matter how hard his words towards them are. He tries really hard to reflect on himself but usually only ends up hating that reckless and heroic side of himself that he views as immature.

Altair was born in Castelia City to re-married parents with an older brother whom he shared a mother with. He grew up somewhat impoverishly and often resorted to petty pickpocketing with his mother's Pokemon, a Klefki, as a child. His father worked for the Unova Pokemon League while his mother did not do much, Altair never knew her well before she abandoned her children, but in hindsight, he knew she was likely involved in matters like gambling based on the amount of loan sharpedo debt she left behind.
When he was 7, Altair's father passed away after an attack on the Pokemon League collapsed some of its infrastructure, and his mother ran away after the loan sharpedos caught up while the money ran dry. His older brother, 9 years his senior took care of him, or tried to, as a 16 year old teenager dragging around a 7 year old child. They would later learn that something happened to their mother in Opelucid City, but neither of them really cared at that point. Altair's older brother left home after he became an adult to join the International Police, citing the death of his parents due to criminal activity involving legendary Pokemon as his motivation. But Altair tend to believe it was to get away from the stupid city they live in on taxpayer money, his brother was latered KIAed in an incident in Alola.
After having his entire family die due to legendary Pokemon in some way, Altair left Unova and was sent to Paldea to attend the trainer school through the support of his late brother's colleagues. Despite multiple "treasure hunts" done and Pokemon raised, he is still somewhat unsure of what to do in the future.
