I would assume that there is no enforced order, but very much an established on in terms of strength.

I wouldnt wanna take my chimchar into battle against an Aegislash, a Dusknoir and a Chandelure, personally.

In canon, there is a set order you have to go through. The League Council ranks its gyms based on the leaders strength in battle. All Leaders must follow this order set by the Council. Which is why Emilie's gym is the 8th in the challenge, because the Council deemed her strong enough to be a final obstacle before trainers can challenge the E4 and Champion.

In short, yes there is a set order and does have to be enforced by the Leaders.

Well, I ask because in the anime it's shown that Gym Leaders decide on the team that they use based on the number of badges a Trainer has. I believe this is supposed to be the case in all the games as well (except SwSh), but it's just hard to program for that variability. So I guess I'm also wondering if this will be the case in this rp too? Or will the Gym Leaders have set teams?

To be fair, Emily is a gym leader, it would be a tad weird if she were a young trainer that barely started their journey. She got her first pokemon with 7, so for somebody that does not ahve much experience, a younger age makes lots of sense!

I can see her father being friends with Nora. Emilie is only a gym leader since the last 5 years, before that it was her father. So they could know that way!

Just character quirks nothing team related, (Though I have been considering what Pokémon I want him to catch once he gets his journey started if that’s how we’ll be doing things) is it cool if I just add those since we haven’t started yet?

I may start the role play either tonight or tomorrow. I’m going to work on a lore page today then work on the IC thread sometime tonight or tomorrow. You will be pinged again when I get that thread up so be on the lookout for that.

Okay, that shouldn’t be an issue. Once I get the lore page made it’ll explain the order of Gyms trainers will do and a brief introduction of each leader (who don’t already have one).

Mirai showed interest in the role play but I haven’t seen or heard anything from them so i don’t if they’re making a character or lost interest so I’m gonna go ahead and make the lore page soon and if they make their character, I’ll update it.
