    Seafolk Village [Poni Island], Alola

An entire Village built on the sea!
    “Amazing…”

From the Pokémon Center’s lobby, the medical facility’s large, glass-pane offered anyone within a largely unobstructed view of Seafolk village in its entirety. It was all at once both nothing much and startling in its intricacy. Wooden planks, slightly uneven, layered together into a shabbily built pier. The pier didn’t seem anchored to the sea floor but rather floated on logs tied to the underside. Even buildings like the PokéCenter appeared to use this free-float style, but where logs wouldn’t suffice, large boats or rafts provided buoyancy.

It was her first time in Alola and Esther was decidedly impressed. The parallels between Seafolk Village and Aqua Resort were as marvelous as their differences; Oblivia was also an archipelago region with a strong sea-faring tradition, but they’d never taken sea-faring quite so…far. Boats as the primary means of transport, sure. Boat houses? Now that was innovative!

Esther would’ve loved to spend a few days ‘on the water’, but she had much to accomplish, and Seafolk Village was just a lay-over en route to Exeggutor Island. In fact, she was fairly sure the island in the distance was Exeggutor island, where today’s contest would be held. It was 8:15 and while the Contest wouldn’t begin until 9, Esther was eager to get a move-on.

    ”Miss Sophys?”

    “Here!”
Pulling herself away from the windows, Esther jogged over to the Nurse’s counter.

”One ticket to Exeggutor Island, the next boat leaves in 5 minutes.”

Esther grinned and thanked the Nurse before leaving. It wasn’t difficult to find her ferry, Seafolk Village was small, and her ride was the only ‘Wishiwashi shaped’ vessel docked. With the Contest so close, Seafolk Village ran frequent ferries to carry Coordinators and Spectators to the island. Supposedly, a ship left the village every 10 minutes.

Gingerly stepping off the pier and onto the ferry, Esther found a seat. A few passengers were already on-board and a few more would trickle in until the ship departed. Esther made herself comfortable, her gaze wandering from passenger to passenger
I wonder…are any of these people Coordinators?

Heizou Synopolis
Trainer 101!
Heizou was currently retying his loose burgundy-and-white hair that had managed to slip out of the band's grasp. The ferry tilted to one side a little and he gripped the side, where he was sitting, as another passenger stepped in. He wondered how many other people would be going to the so-called "Lake Contest", and who'd be the coordinators. So long they were refreshingly nice, he didn't mind, but then again- he didn't spend tht long socializing.

Heizou figured most contestants would want to go early, just like how he was doing, and he finally finished the task of taming his smooth hair. His gaze averted back to the passenger who had by now sat down. Of course he was going to establish her looks; Honey-Almond skin, black hair with red wispy tips, and bright orange eyes. She certainly didn't seem old, and looked very much like a trainer.

He wasn't very good with small talk, but he supposed entering a tournament would slightly push him past his wants. Besides, he should learn to everyone around here- even if they weren't going to participate. At least, that's was what his mother told him...before he decided to leave. It was a bad choice, but adventures were a key thing in his life. He could see his family any day, but that only happened when he finished the goal for the week he always had.

This week was to win the tournament, or at least come in with a medal.
