Water dripped from the ceiling of a hallway, a dim light flashing on and off as the only source of light in a small room off the end of the hallway. The sound of static slowly filling the dim passageway as a red light began to flicker on.

“SssiR we! CAN nnnNnoo lOnGER keEP thE frontlines! W-e need the -------- ones!!!! OH GOD NOT ANOTHER!!!!!” The speaker switching back to static as screams faded in the distance. An Older gentleman grunted squeezing his hand standing up from a small chair. “They may not be ready yet… But I guess it’s time. They may be our only hope of winning this war.” With that, the man slammed his hand against a button activating the alarm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once a time Humans and Pokemon worked together in peace. Together side by side in harmony, that is until the portals began to open everywhere. Hundreds of Ultra Beasts had spewed from the various portals recking havoc everywhere to the point it triggered the need of some of the legendaries to step in only to get overpowered by the beasts leader Necrozma. That day leads to being the last day of light in the world, only darkness and mayhem remained. Cities destroyed, once beautiful fields of flowers now barren wastelands.
Humans and their pokemon had tried to fight back but due to some interference from some of the ultra beasts. Their own Pokemon began attacking their own humans! Thousands dropped to the ground the fight raging on for years! That is until a strange man had revealed an old secret underground base deep beneath a lake bed. Some of the remaining humans hearing of this thought to seek shelter within this place. Yet the man denied them access taking only a number of infants and an equal number of Pokemon eggs. The humans tried to force their way in after the children were taken only for the adults to be slaughtered by the man’s Dragonite. They couldn’t interfere with his plans.
Sixteen years later the world has only gotten worse, but it was time for the once children now teens and their Pokemon partners to rise above and free the new apocalyptic world.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few things about this world.

1. It is much harder to capture any wild pokemon, after the time that has passed they’ve grown use to being wild and don’t really like humans anymore.

2. Pokeballs no longer exist in this world. After the outbreak, all Pokeball production was brought to a stop. Now people use scarfs and accessories to dignify the bond between trainer and Pokemon.

3. Since there aren't any gyms or many trainers left in the wastelands it has become harder in training Pokemon and much more difficult in evolving.

That cry those people were surely dead thinking they had any chance up against a Guzzlord. That beast gobbled everything in sight! They stood no chance, everyone was either dying, already dead, or gone into hiding like them. An elder gentlemen thought deeply to himself as he slammed his hand against the button, hard.

The alarm flashed heavily throughout the groggy old bunker that was pretty much falling apart at this point. Yet rather dim the red light still had the ability to be annoying, most likely irritating many of the teens that have been trapped in this bunker their entire lives. “Everyone, please report to the classroom this is urgent children.” The old man lifted his hands off the almost dead intercom before leaving the said room to go to meet the others. Today was the anniversary of the disaster that took forth years ago, a great mistake that should have never had gone down if only he had done something different maybe things would have gone different?

“Children. I know you’re all not exactly ready to from your training being incomplete with you’re newly received partners. But today is the day, for you to venture out into the great big world.”

Uriel was in the kitchen while Scorch slept on the floor in a corner, a two-headed dragon bracelet around his tail. A beige shawl covered her hair, keeping it back as she made some soup for everyone, putting the finishing touches on while it simmered. All Uriel knew was the old man, the other infants who grew to children and then to teens. Then there was Scorch and the others, the rest of the oddly colored animals with abilities and moves. Like the children, the Pokémon as the old man called them, had grown up together. “I think it’s about done,” Uriel said as she spooned a bit of the soup and blew on it, however an alarm sounding within the bunker was not what she expected and she dropped the wooden spoon on the floor in surprise.

“Ch...” yawned Scorch as he lifted his head at the alarm blaring through the bunker, a dim red light echoing within the halls. Within seconds there was the sound of the old man speaking over an intercom and telling the teens to come to the classroom.

Uriel turned the heat off and moved the pot as Scorch yawned again and got to his feet, jumping onto Uriel’s back and clinging to her shoulder as the teen rushed towards the classroom.

Lying in his bed, Josh was doing what he normally did to pass time in the X* while he awaited food, thinking of different scenarios in his head and imagining how he would react to them, he was mid thought when in the corner of his eye he could see the vines from his Pokémon, Seed, moving around in an attempt to gain the attention of his trainer. His thought now lost he sat up, looking at his closest bud who was staring up at him; eyes longing for attention. Josh stood up from his creaky metal bed and ran his hand against the vine coated wall, his fingers slipping between the gaps, "Alright Seed, you win." he said quietly as he knelt down beside his Pokémon scratching at its head softly.

He reached under his pillow and grasped the hilt of his dagger sliding it into the belt buckle before they both left his room and walked into the dark, dingy hallway that echoed the quiet voice of his Bulbasaur as it hopped around. Slowly, they began to make their way over to the main eating area when a buzzing became audible, at first it confused Josh but a few seconds later the voice he'd been hearing for the last 16 years boomed against the walls "Everyone, please report to the classroom this is urgent children." Josh stood still for a second assuming that it had something to do with it being the supposed Anniversary of the day in which he had been taken in along side the other teens, his momentary contemplation ended as quick as it had began and so he continued walking towards the classroom like requested; not before he nipped into the kitchen to take some fresh soup for himself and Seed that had been left behind.

X* Being the time of day due to it having not been revealed at the time of posting.

Lorelei woke up to the sound of an alarm blaring right in her ear. It seemed like the old man urgently needed them to go somewhere. Yeah right, she was going to stall time. First, what was she doing. There wasn't a smudged canvas under her or paint on her face, so she hadn't been painting. Not to mention she had fallen asleep in her bed. That never happens during late night(/early morning) painting. Her shirt was tugged half off and her sleeve was in an embroidery hoop. Ahhhhhhh, she had been embroidering stars on her shirt sleeves and fallen asleep again. Halfway through a star too. Lorelei honestly didn't know how she hadn't poked an eye out yet.

Luna bounded through the floor and Lorelei would have sworn the puppy-like pokemon was psychic if she already knew for sure she wasn't. Luna had probably been playing around while she was sleeping. Unlike her nocturnal trainer, she loved running around all day. Lorelei sighed and got up. She tidied up her left over sewing stuff and wrapped her scarf around her neck. She began leisurely walking through the bunker as Luna skipped around her feet, making her way to the classroom as slow as possible.

Leo grasped a small metal pipe that had fallen from the decayed mechanisms of the bunker. He walked into a long hallway along with Lyle, once he had reached the end of the hall he sent Lyle to the opposite end. Leo called out to Lyle, "Okay, are you ready Lyle?" the Totodile shook his head in approval, "Great! 3, 2, 1, action!" Leo ran towards Lyle and attacked him with the pipe, Lyle elegantly and easily danced around the heavy swings. Leo smiled, ecstatic with how well this scene was going so far, but it wasn't finished yet, he stopped abruptly and began to try and mimic the old man's voice, "Well Mr. Farland, it seems you've improved, but you are still no match for my years of training." Lyle gave his owner a smug smile before entering a defensive stance.

Leo began to laugh and took a swing seemingly out of nowhere, Lyle began the process of dodging the attack as an alarm started blaring and a red light overtook the bunker. Lyle froze up and Leo just barely managed to adjust the direction of his swing to miss Lyle. "What is it now?" his question was soon answered by the familiar voice of the old man. "Strange, maybe this rust bucket of a home is finally finished. What do you think Lyle?" He looked at where his Totodile once stood to find that Lyle had already made his way towards the classroom. "Really Lyle, you're just gonna leave me here talking to myself? We were in the middle of something and we're going to finish that before anything else!" Leo waited for Lyle to return, once it became apparent that he wasn't coming back Leo chased after him.

“You are just surprising, you know that?”

Cross was sat upon her bed, running her hand over the soft upper side of her new partner’s big leaf, after having picked a few mites off the bottom. How they managed to get there, she had no idea.
Scattered around her room were various books, papers and journals, all full of scribbles and drawings. Of people, of Pokémon, everything that she had observed up to this point.

“No signs of damage, no leaf rot, not even a dried, curling corner.” She watched the little green dinosaur purr happily and lean into the pets, and Cross soon found herself cooing at the little Grass-Type. “You’re so resilient... so cute too... ohhh, I love you so much.”

She picked up the little girl and hugged her close to her chest, earning a happy squeal and a smack to the face with a big leaf. Though that was accidental, probably.

She looked up from her cuddling to the sound of the intercom buzzing to life. Along with alarms and red lights, which made the young woman jump to attention. OH GOD WHATS HAPPENING?

She rushed forward with a squeal of panic as she started to pack things into a pillowcase, frantically as she rushed out of her room... then returned in an instant, grabbed her partner and ran back out.

She burst into the room, looking bedraggled, with her hair half up, breathing hard, clutching a pillowcase in her arms with a chipper looking Chikorita sitting on top.

“What’s going on?! What’s happening?!”

CLEMENCE DONALD
A new journey awaits
1568166860928.png
Tucked in her cozy little bed right beside a fluffy little Mareep, a young woman with soft grey hair lay in deep sound slumber after a long day of hard work. The small room the girl slept in was about as cozy as a room in a post apocalyptic bunker could get. It was relatively clean but after spending years in that tiny space it’d be a surprise if there weren’t the occasional stain here and there especially considering her hobbies. Nevertheless despite its flaws the girl would be happy to say that it’s home. The girl of course was Clemence, though she much preferred to go by Clem instead. She was one of the older kids around here and was the resident mechanic of the group. She enjoyed tinkering with broken objects almost as much as the company of the others. Usually she’d be out and about hanging out with the teens who were also trapped down in the bunker but after two all nighters in a row Clem had just about reached her limit and was passed out in her cot beside her electric little Pokémon. The Mareep, or who Clem named Fluff, was equally as tired as her owner and allowed the human to use her fur as a soft little pillow. It was quite the charming sight to see but unfortunately this sweet little moment would soon be ruined by the jarring flash of an alarm and the old man’s voice.

Fluff was the first one to awake out of the duo and surprised by the sudden noise, she accidentally let out a large bolt of electricity which in turn awoke Clem from her own sleep. “Wha?...wha time is it?”, Were the first words the girl mumbled out before dragging herself out of the bed. By this point the alarm had still been blaring with the same intensity and Clem was already getting sick of it. A pillow was thus thrown at the light and alarm which while it didn’t fix the issue, added a bit of pep to Clem’s step as she scrambled to brush her teeth and put on some clothes. Finally she threw on some shoes and practically dragged her reluctant partner out of the room ready to start her day...or night...or whatever time it was. Clem hadn’t bothered to check the clock on her way out.

Clem knew the layout of her home about as well as the back of her hand so it took no time at all to get to the classroom. That didn’t mean she hadn’t stalled, quite the contrary. She was just that type of gal who’d take time to smell the metaphorical roses even in a situation like this. The bunker may have not been in the best shape but the place was still very much her home. After a while she finally reached her destination, the classroom. Already some of the other teens had got there before herself. Waving to anyone who’d gotten there before herself Clem bellowed out a large yawn alongside a groggy “Good morning”. Her hand soon reached to her hair which after the electrifying incident was about as fluffy and huge as a cotton ball. She even smelled a bit like burnt hair. With this realization Clem simply lazily patted it down into a somewhat more manageable state before a smile returned to her relaxed face. Clem was quite out of it thanks to the suddenness of her awakening so the direness of the situation hadn’t truly sunk in yet. Whatever was going on, Clem was sure that it’d be all fine in the end anyways.

Foster Prince

Foster was fast asleep on his his bed, having barely gotten to bed a while ago, with Gible by his side, huddle into the bed sheets. He was having a very awesome dream, were he had taken down a group of strong pokemon, with his trusty Gible by his side, now fully having evolved into a beautiful and strong Garchomp. To him this dream was awesome, mostly because it showed that everything he had done to help his Gible become the strongest, came into fruition. Of course when he accidentally kicked the poor gible as she slept, forcing her to wake up as she fell off the bed.

"Gib....GIBLE." First the poor Gible was confused on what was happening, having just recently gone to sleep after having a full night of training, now being really tired, she had expected to fully sleep but stupid trainer. Foster eyes went wide open as he felt something sharp on his head, forcing him to cried out in pain as Gible bit into his head, not hard enough to bleed but hard enough for it to hurt. "What the hell??? Why you do that??? I was having such an awesome dream." He yelled at her, trying to pry her off but to no avail. After a few moment of wrestling with the pokemon, trying to stop her from biting him, she finally came off. "Gi....Gi...Gib.....Gible." The small pokemon flailed her small arms, with Foster rubbing his head. "Okay okay, I'm sorry that I kicked you while I was sleeping, forcing you to fall off the bed." He apologized, but the small pokemon gave him a glare. "I promise that I will give you half my ration of food the whole day as an extra apology." He added, making Gible to nod her head. Just as he was about to go back to bed, when the alarm sounded and the old man spoke through the intercom. "Come the F.... on." Foster was mad, he normally slept all day long, the old man knew that, so he better have a good reason as to why they were being called. "Come on Gible, let's go see what the old geezer wants." Gible nodded before climbing into his shoulder and taking her place in his hoodie. "Rule number, never take the hoodie off, even when sleeping or Gible bites hard." He repeated on his head as he exited his room and made his way toward the classroom.

Nelfos wasn't sleeping, but he was in a state of relaxation when the alarms blared and the announcement was...well, announced. He didn't jump with fright, no, of course he didn't, he was cool and collected Nelfos. He just opened his eyes and calmly listened to the old man's message.

Purple Thing(I'm liking it far too much), on the other hand, leapt a good five feet into the air. High enough that Nelfos wondered if there was any Flying type in the Nidoran's ancestry. At the climax of the jump, the little Pokémon comically tried to wave his little limbs, but gravity, a most cruel mistress, let go of the dear little animal right above a solid metal floor.

Even stoic, impassive and generally distant Nelfie had to wince at the loud smack of the Nidoran hitting the floor. Purple Thing leapt up once more, though only to its feet this time, and glared at the speaker built into the wall of their room with immense loathing. The two were old enemies, Pokémon and intercom. The days of its announcing were numbered, as far as Purple Thing was concerned. One day he would grow up big enough to smack it.

But until that day, Nelfos would continue to obey it and Purple Thing would obey Nelfos. That was the way of things, down here in the underground.
"Let's find out what's happening." The quiet teenager told his partner, pausing a moment to tidy up his bed before leaving the room entirely.

Alexander dropped into a crouch, a fist brushing just barely against his hair. He and Vincent had been going at it for almost a half an hour, and the boy's body ached from the hits the other had gotten in. Alex was yet get a single hit in on Vincent, opting to focus on avoiding the rougher trainer's attacks rather than attack back.

Going to lean away from another punch, Alex was thrown off as the alarm lights began to flash and the old man's voice came over the intercom. This distraction allowed Vincent to land a solid blow to his cheek, sending Alex tumbling to the ground.

“Something like that shouldn’t throw you off, seaweed brain” Vincent spun on his heel and marched off towards the classroom, leaving a wincing Alex on the floor of the training room. Shaking his head, Hitoshī followed behind its trainer a moment later.

Hoisting himself to his feet, Alex rubbed his aching jaw. He felt lucky to find it wasn’t broken; that last punch had been a hard one. He agreed with Vincent one point though, he shouldn’t have been so easily thrown off by something as trivial as that.

“That was so… lame” he sighed to himself, Mizu giving him a concerned look. “I'm fine, just a little sore" he assured the worried Pokémon with a smile. “We should probably go see what’s so important.” Following the other trainer's lead, Alex and Mizu headed for the classroom to see what the old man wanted them for.

Alicia was playing with her partner Neo when the alarm started blaring - neither of them were used to noise like that so although the alarm was half dead it still made them jump.

“What’s going on..?” Alicia said whilst staring at the intercom’s speaker.

“everyone, please report to the classroom this is urgent children.”

Neo looked at Alicia and raced to get her bow that was on her ‘bedroom’ table. Alicia quickly clipped the bow onto the back of her head and sorted out the bow that Neo wears on the same spot before opening the rusty door loudly and sprinting towards the classroom.

“Let’s hope that it’s not dire, Neo...”

Rani Turrow

Silence filled the young man’s bedroom, who stared blankly at the wall before him. With little care for what could possibly come forth. His partner Starla sat peacefully perched on Rani’s tan arm deep in a state of slumber. What was he doing honestly? Nothing as usual other than just waiting for another meaningless day in this underground prison of teenagers to go by. They couldn’t do much anyway with how that old guy raised them it felt like. Sure he’d see the other teens trying to have fun together? But was there really anything special to it. The silent boy doubted as suddenly the alarm went off so sudden. Startling his Starla awake.

“Starrly?” His favorite bird squawked out her name in confusion, gazing up at her trainer.

“Well Starla, it seems that we are needed,” Rani said in a rather dull voice as he rose up from his seat. Patting his bird once while making his way out of the door moving pass all the other humans without caring to say anything.

Mia McCurry

“37-38-39-40! Alright Blaze that’s 40 pushups now for running while screaming!! We need to be prepared in case we ever have a break-in of something! Like what if someone broke in and ate all of our snacks!” Mia shouted enthusiastically as her and her best friend Growlithe proceeded with their morning routine. They exorcise every morning together from the moment they woke up, till after breakfast. Kept them busy, fit, and helped tire them out, it’s kinda hard to fall asleep when there’s a noisy pipe or something else possibly going on around the corner like a fight!

Her puppy pokemon barked in agreement, jumping up and about in a circle with joy, “Growl!” wagging his tail about.

“Alright how about we make this one a race? To the kitchen and back whoever loses is a weenie! Now come on get ready! Set! G---!” Mia’s words getting cut off before she could even finish them and red flashed all around them.

“Welp guess we’re racing to the room of learning instead! Now Go!”

“Char,” said Scorch as they approached the classroom and Uriel slowed down before walking inside. Scorch leapt down onto the table they reached and stood as his trainer pulled out a chair and sat down. “Charmander,” said Scorch as he leaned in to be petted, Uriel obliged him by reaching over and scratching Scorch’s neck.

“What’s important?” Uriel questioned. “I was finishing soup.”

Another day, another round of being stuffed under a bunker. In due time, the sons and daughters of man would turn into eyeless Excadrill-people, but that's not a problem now.

Speaking of now, other stories are about to unfold.

A small, levitating fish of sorts 'swam' through the fallout shelter, nourishing its gills with the moisture and humidity of post-apocalyptic panic. Behind the fish was a young woman, running alongside it.

LTFhnMj.png

"Come on, Admiral Hipper, we're gonna reach there in time! One more burst!"

Our dynamic duo performed one final burst of speed as sparks and a screech were heard.

Whoever came to greet the gang in the classroom produced enormous pants.

"Are... we... on... time?"

Old man.

The man waited in silence as each of the children he had minorly raised approached what they considered the teaching room old grim bunker. This room wasn't the best of shape compared to everything else had quite a few gaping holes in it. Filled the stench of the old mold, broken chairs scattered in a pile away from the few good chairs they had left, and a rather stained chalkboard placed right in the middle of the classroom room. Lastly what was in the gloomy room was a poster with a Dragonite plastered all over it. Waiting for each of the orphaned teens to take a seat he finally began talking. "Children, I apologize for the sudden red lights. But this is very urgent. I know from the time being you were all taught to never step outside the bunker. Marking today of the anniversary of the great disaster that happened above. You will all venture out, you've had your training but now is your time to stretch your wings and fly. All of you are this world's only hope for survival, you must find a way to revive the world."

Uriel paused in her scratching of Scorch's head and neck as the other children came into the room and the old man spoke to them. But what he said was surprising to Uriel and maybe to everyone else as well. He spoke of this being the anniversary since the great disaster and their...sanctuary, for Uriel and her siblings as well as Scorch and the other Pokémon. Well, that was how Uriel thought of this day. Then he got down to the real reason for calling them here. For the first time and opposite of what they had been taught, in fifteen or sixteen years, the children who were now teens would be going to the surface for the first time since the apocalypse had started.

Josh was the second person to enter the classroom, he instantly moved over to the corner near the door where he could watch everyone else enter, he looked around at the broken classroom the walls were filled with holes and the seats were broken everything looked like it was hundreds of years old even the smell gave off the same vibe. Josh watched as each teen entered the room with their Pokémon by their side each of them obviously curious as to the meaning of the alarm, there was a small nibbling at his ankle but when Josh looked down he say that it was Seed, once their eyes locked Seed moved to face the door as Rani entered the room, Josh looked up to see him enter giving a small smile as he walked past.

"Children, I apologize for the sudden red lights. But this is very urgent. I know from the time being you were all taught to never step outside the bunker. Marking today of the anniversary of the great disaster that happened above. You will all venture out, you've had your training but now is your time to stretch your wings and fly. All of you are this world's only hope for survival, you must find a way to revive the world." Josh stood completely still not knowing how to react, they were going to leave? He'd been stuck in this mess of a home for so long that it actually became a home that he was content with, he had gotten used to all of its flaws. And the idea that they, a bunch of teenagers, were going to "revive the world"... It was a joke, it had to be it made no sense.

But he looked so serious...
