The air conditioner cranked at high speeds in the large old farm house. The young adults sighed as she sat on the stained couch, the sound of her girlfriend and her"friends." In the kitchen, thier laughter filled the kitchen and leaked into the other room, even with the door closed. She sat beside another young girl who always wore way too much makeup and smelt alot like cigarette smoke and liquor.

She looked up at the door, hoping thay maybe her girlfriend would come out, and tell her everyone was leaving so they could actually be alone for the night. That wouldn't happen though, not tonight maybe not even ever in this relationship.

Her girlfriend managed one of the largest rings in the county, she was herself handsome, good with money and had a few problems. She begged her to stop, she begged her after being together for so long to stop, so they could have a life together away from all of the greed, the anger and the hate.

She knew she wasn't allowed but stood up anyway, opening the door. The kitchen light hurting her eyes as she laughter hurt her ears. She bit into her lip as her stomach, flipped around. Her girlfriend sat at the table along with his "friends" , all of them lost in thought, all of them not caring that they had ruined the cleaning job she had done in the kitchen just a few hours before. She bit into her lip, pretending to get a drink, she grabbed for a glass out of the cupboard. Leaning over the counter she filled her glass, the cold water slapping the glass.
Sipping at the water she didn't say a word, telling herself to just finish her drink and go to bed, mentally reminding her to lock the door behind her.

The table was filled with a mess. Several bottles of beer were laid across the table. Her friends and her were all enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was dark, and the stench of marijuana was laced through the air. As her girlfriend walked out, Skylar stared, well glared in actuality. Her friends didn't noticed and continued on with their laughter.

Skylar wanted to storm into the bedroom, questioning her girlfriend. Her thoughts, although, wandered back to the little baggy of oxy that was tucked away in her pocket. There was little part of her that recognized that she had a problem, something that she feared she wouldn't be able to change. Deep down, she was the same girl her girlfriend fell in love with. But, she was buried deep in the pit of despair.

Sipping at the water Elaine put the glass in the sink once she was finished. The couple had moved into the large farm house, maybe four months ago and in that time they had never actually lived alone in the large home.
Someone, anyone was always asleep on the sofa, the floor or sometimes the bathtub. Yet the bedroom, the master bedroom was behind a door she always kept locked. The large bed took up most of the bed, and made it sure most days she didn't even have to touch her distraught girlfriend. She didn't say a thing, clicking the lock she moved up the stairs with ease. As long as she didn't move too much, or drop anything Sky wouldn't come up here, she'd stay away until bed.

Skylar was too preoccupied with her friends at the moment. They were talking about future plans of the "business". She tried to focus on the words that were coming out of everyone's mouth, but all she could think about was Elaine. Suddenly, rage filled her body. She got up abruptly and stormed to their room. Skylar reached to turned the knob of the door, but was let to more anger as it was locked. Pounding on the door she screamed, "Elaine, open this goddamn door!" She repeatedly pounded.

Skylar was not in the right state of mind. Her thoughts were clouded, and she definitely was not sober. She had no actual control of herself. The rage that engrossed her was not her own doing.

Elaine had laid in the bed for maybe ten minutes before the loud knock at the door woke her. Her teeth but down hard into her tongue as she jumped, almost out of the bed. Skylar, wasn't much bigger than her yet when she wasn't sober...well she thought she could battle the world. And for some reason, Elaine just happened to be the world today. Most days, Skylar didn't hit her, yet if she said the wrong thing or even laughed in her direction she'd have a large bruise anywhere on her body.
Yet the pounding of the door, she worried the neighbors miles away could hear it. "Coming love.." letting a lion into a small space was a terrible idea, yet she let her in anyway. How could she deny her girlfriend access to her own bedroom!?

Skylar’s fury was growing the longer it took for Elaine to reach the door. The door opened, revealing their cramped bedroom and her girlfriend. “What the hell was that?” Sky screamed, placing her hands on her hips.

“What made you think it was okay to come out there even after I told you not to?” She stormed through the room and stood in front of Elaine. “Look at me!” She demanded. Skylar was not in the mood for any excuses of any kind.

Laughing Elaine wasn't afraid anymore, her girlfriend was mad because she had gotten a drink!?
"A drink, water." Crawling back into the bed she rolled her eyes. Whatever was actually wrong would come out with her being sober or not. "Yet skylar, waterrr."

Skylar managed to calm her self down and come to her senses. She realized how ridiculous she sounded. "I'm sorry, that was a bit out there." She apologized.
The drugs that were in her system were starting to wear off. She sighed, truly realizing her actions.
She walked out, back to the table to join her friends. That was a first, she thought.

Blinking a few times Elaine crawled back into the bed. She was expecting a fight, to be thrown around the room like a rag doll even. Instead she turned the lights off and sat alone in the dark, the a/c making the room cooler than it needed yet it felt nice compared to the laughter downstairs and the hot air from outside.
Her eyes grew heavy, as her body began to relax, even though anything could ruin it. Like it usually did.
