Electrokinesis - One with the ability can summon lightning, electricity, or even make a static shock powerful. They can electrify their weapons in order to make their weapons more effective, causing more damage. He is, however still effected by the electric blasts of others.

Aerokinesis - elemental ability to create control and manipulate the air and wind in a variety of offensive or defensive ways. This power isn't as powerful for Derek. He has a hard time controlling the winds, especially when confronting a God or demigod that has experience in it.

Atmokinesis - doesn't have it.

[indent]He's very arrogant about being Zeus' son and tends to refer to himself as the Prince of the Skies. Derek feels that he can beat any monster he faces since facing the hydra. He's EXTREMELY flirtatious, and often gets mistaken for a child of Aphrodite, which he attributes to his 'ruggedly handsome features.' He's a prankster, often shorting out any contraption that a Hephaestus child sends his way, this causing more fights than anyone needs. Derek's not a total jerk. He has a soft side, but it's just hard to reach at times, considering he still beats himself up secretly for the hydra attack on his mom. Derek should have been there. He should have been the one to save his mom, not Nycanor. He's an extremely hard worker and will do something the second that he's asked to. Derek holds a lot of anger toward Hera, and plans on having a few choice words with her if they ever meet again. "She could have killed me! I could have died!" Derek would scream things like this during his first few weeks at Camp, then he finally chilled out a little, realizing what this hatred was doing to his power. Derek holds a lot of anger toward Zeus as well, for not stopping the queen from doing what she did. Derek doesn't see himself as a leader, like his siblings. Sure, he's Zeus' son, but he's still a kid. Why did he have to stand out? Why couldn't he goof off?

[indent]He grew up in Miami, and at one point in his past, at six, Hera, disguised as an old woman, tricked him into going with her into the woods. There, she tossed him off of a cliff, exactly how she did with Hephaestus and then, a griffon caught him before he landed into the river at the base of the cliff. Years later, at eleven, Derek faced a hydra that was disguised as his mother's co-workers at the electric company and was then knocked out after trying to save his mom. The griffon came back and dropped his mother off at home and took Derek to camp.

I am... mildly so? Still p sick but less so than yesterday and a nap today helped. I have to run to club in a few but if I'm still feeling okay after I'll try to type up plot and things!


Sorry I've been so MIA, this just really knocked the wind out of me, and it's hard for me to type up anything as technical as plot and setting when I'm not feeling well - IC posts come so much easier.

My first? Ish? But also kinda my last?


So this class has a final and a paper. My others... one has a take home final, but it's mostly just a paper and two supplemental questions? So basically just a paper so I'm not really counting it as a final. One has a performance for the final and that's done with, and the research paper is due a week from Tuesday, and then I have two papers due this week (Wednesday and Friday) in lieu of a final for two of my classes, and the last doesn't have any final requirements because it's pass/fail. So it's my first but also my last?
