Fandom Persona: White Noise

Dunban hears a voice that could wake the dead and knows right away it can only be one person. "Hey there, Joe," he says, stooping his head in hopes of not being noticed. So much for being incognito and listening for gossip. Still, he owes it to his friend to catch up after not seeing each other all summer. "You know what I've been up to. Sitting around like a dead vegetable getting as little sun as I can manage. How 'bout you?"

Arlene was silently sitting right next to Aiko who was chatting along with her friends. She knew that they were making jokes about her, but she didn't even bother. With her head low, she was already writing stuff for other students "Hey Arlene, how was the transfer student? Was he interesting?" Aiko said wanting to hear about the transfer student. "W-well, h-he w-was k-kind, a-and c-c-condersider-r-ate." Arlene said as she still looked down to all of things that were piled on top of legs. She already finished her food and was busy writing. "Ah I see, my how charming," Aiko said with glittering eyes. If Arlene could, she would of rolled her eyes at Aiko's reaction.

Dunban spends about 5% of his attention on the idle conversation with Joseph, and the other 95% on fulfilling his original goal. With Joe having calmed down, the people's attention drifts away from the two of them and enables Dunban to hear what he wants to hear. It seems everyone is talking about that weird website. Some even connect the missing student to the case of the blank webpage. Dunban absentmindedly touches a piece of paper in his pocket, upon which he had scrawled the URL to the webpage. somniumsinefine.net. He will be sure to check it out this evening.

After School

With the ringing of the final bell, Dunban is headed straight for home. On the way back, he passes the house where he first ran into Jack. The day of school has him wide awake, and he doesn't feel like he'll be able to fall asleep if he heads straight home right now anyway. In other words, he is in no hurry to visit that website. With this in mind, Dunban decides to pay Jack a visit.

Clutching the piece of paper in his hand, Dunban approaches the door of the house he assumes is Jack's and knocks. "Hey Jack, you there? How'd you like to become one of the cool kids at school before you even start your first day?"

The alarm went off at at six in the morning. A groan escaped the seventeen year old lips. Rose couldn't believe that summer vacation was done and she had to head back to school. All the days had blurred together ever since the accident. She had been dreading this day all week. Everyone had probably heard of the accident by now and would treat her differently or just avoid her altogether. Eventually she dragged herself out of bed, and got ready for the day.

Rose wore a simple outfit. A red t-shirt and dark blue jeans. Satisfied with herself she grabbed her bag and went downstairs for a quick breakfast. In the kitchen Rose was greeted with her parents, they tried to look as if everything was normal, but it was clear they had been crying. This was the first back to school with no James. Normally he would prolong going to school by wearing the wrong clothes and demand waffles, jokingly of course. Mom would cave into his demands and make them waffles.

The thought brought tears to her eyes. For breakfast a waffle was waiting for her with some whip cream on top. She held back her tears, not wanting to cry before school. She ate her waffle and left for school. As Rose headed to school she heard rumors of a transfer student. With the rumors of the new guy maybe people would forget about her and the accident. The school gate was crowded with cliques, chattering among themselves. Rose headed into the school building, preparing herself for the day.

When lunchtime finally hit Rose grabbed her tray and sat at an empty table. Normally James would've sat down next to her and she'd listen to him complain about class and they'd be joined by friends. Everyone was already sitting and chatting together. A few tears fell from her face, she missed James and wish so badly he was here with her. Quickly she wiped them away because once she started she had a hard time stopping.

After lunch the day seemed to drag on. Rose could barely concentrate and spent the majority of class doodling in her notebook rather than taking notes. After what seemed like an eternity school was finally over. Rose wasn't paying much attention when she was walking. It took someone running into her to get the girl out of her daze. "Oh I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Rose asked.

A bell ringing in her ears, a sound that came forth with great relief for those enrolled in the institution, quite differing from what the young woman by the gates thought of it as the horde of students began to leave the premises. Adjusting the bag on her shoulder, she attempted yet again to dismiss the nervous feel that overcome her every time she found herself staring at the entrance of Lanham High. By now, she should be used to it, it was her fourth visit here, after all. But it was not enough to prevent her from going as far as to avoid the eyes of other teenagers her age that pass by. Well, it will most likely be the last time she needeed to come here so perhaps it was not so suprising.

Demetria pulled her hat of the day, black and adorned with a chess pattern, one of her favorites. One could make the argument that it functioned as a lucky charm for her at times like this but she was never one to believe in luck. No, her trust rested upon skill and caution, just what has been rewarding her discretion on these school grounds up until now. So far so good, when the security of it was not very high and no uniform is forced upon the students. She merged with the crowd, playing the part of a student who had forgotten something inside as best she could, although her desire to be quick about it was founded elsewhere.

So far, so good.
She was driven to smirk to herself but held it, she did not want to jinx it now, did she? Wandering around the school, checking a classroom every so often to keep her cover, she was closer and closer to reach her destination, where she would be awaiting her chance to begin her investigation on the rumors that plagued this school. It was all very exciting. So much so that she was so caught up on her thoughts that she ended up bumping into another student on the way opposite of hers. Great.
