Fandom Persona - Black Garden

Kiyoko Tomoe

The Donut Goddess
Before you stood an enormous steel gate. Around the gate resided an infinitely long and infinitely tall wall of pure stone, while behind it resided nothingness, which seemed to stretch on forever; emptiness, completely black as though the void itself. An odd man, who hardly looked even human, stood beside the gate. They seemed more normal than the gate itself and what resided behind it, yet they took more attention as though it were forced upon him. Once attention was fully given, he spoke.

"Welcome to the garden, young one."

That was all; a single sentence, welcoming you to a place called the 'Black Garden'. The dream would come to an end quite soon after, as you would find yourself awake. From that point onward, it had become a normal morning. You would proceed to your usual morning activities, then hopefully, like a proper student, head to school in order to get there on time. You may or may not be thinking about the dream at this point, though there isn't much to think about when it comes to it. If only you knew, that a good few others were within that same dream.

Chapter One - Dreaming

[media]

[/media]
"We're all living different lives, doing different things and seeing from different perspectives. Apparently we're not the same, each and every one of us different. Who's to say, however, we're not the same? Though the circumstances may be different, we all enter this world the same, and exit the same as well. We were all born in this world, we all live out our lives, and then we all die. This is the cycle of life we all know to exist, which we're all part of right now. What if, however, this cycle were to be broken? Just what if we were to transcend death, escape this cycle of life and become immortal? That's something that can only be answered in our wildest dreams, as only our dreams can free us of reality."

Kyra Hatakane

Morning At The Inn

Normal morning, normal surroundings, and normal weather. Everything seemed to be as it belonged, except for that weird dream the night before. Kyra was left a bit baffled by that dream, but it wasn't of concern for long as she decided shove it the the back of her mind in order to get a proper start to her day.

First things first, she'd need start by waking herself up, which meant some pounding on her stubborn head that refused wake up any other way. Typical of her, not realizing she could just splash some water or her face or something to get woken up, at least not until she'd already hitting herself wide awake.

Walking over and opening the window in her permanent room at the inn, Kyra was definitely one of those morning people once past the whole lightly hitting herself awake part. She enjoyed the light breeze the day held, it nice and soothing on this day in fall.

Kyra spent some time enjoying the breeze, as well as looking at the colorful leaves resting in the trees in the open area of which the inn resided. Of course, it didn't last all too long as a knock came upon Kyra's door, her mother informing her it was time for breakfast. As such, Kyra went downstairs to enjoy said breakfast.

Takeji Hatakane

Morning At The Inn

Same old boring morning, and the same old boring fall weather. Pretty early a time for Takeji to get up though, him usually not one to bother with the morning because it was just a form of torture invented by humans themselves. Regardless, he himself was a human, so he had to deal with it too.

Takeji believed that people could just live better if they'd skip the time when the sun's directly in their eyes, wait for it to be above them so they don't kill their eyes looking at it. He also disliked the idea of 'breakfast', as it basically set a schedule on a person's eating thereafter.

Despite his dislike of 'breakfast', he'd still participate in it for two reasons. Number one, he'd get a ton of lectures from his mother for skipping out on breakfast. Number two, Kyra had asked that the two of them eat breakfast together every morning.

Going on over to their family's little breakfast table on the third floor of the inn, which was the family's own out of five floors, Takeji's mother had just previously finished preparing breakfast for him and Kyra. Taking his seat, he sighed internally at another day. At least they'd head down the longer path this morning.

Hatakane Siblings

Alternative School Route

The morning went by as usual for Kyra and Takeji. They ate breakfast, talking about the previous day's happenings, today's plans, as well as the usual last-minute homework help Kyra always got from Takeji. After finishing with eating and Kyra's homework she was meant to do the day before so she wouldn't be rushing last-minute today, Takeji went on back to his room to change into his school uniform, meanwhile Kyra going back to her room to grab her school supplies. After a few minutes they were out the door, having made double sure they didn't leave anything behind before taking their route to school they took whenever Takeji managed wake up early enough. In Takeji's mind though, vivid images were starting to flash.

Takeji was pretty much remembering that dream the previous night, the one about the whole Black Garden. He tried focusing more on Kyra than the images popping up in his head though, knowing that it'd be best just ignore them so as to prevent insanity by a dream. Yes, just a dream. Dreams were the one world where a human could escape reality, transcend the physical laws of the world and pass by the torturous day-to-day creations of the universe and man themselves. Sadly though, dreams lacked something important; something that could only be attained in reality.

"nii-chan... nii-chan... Onii-chan...!" Kyra said, pulling on Takeji's shoulder. "Huh...? Oh, uh... Yes, Kyra?" Takeji responded, having just been brought back out of thought. "Are you alright...? You've never spaced out like this before," Kyra said worriedly. "Oh, don't worry... I'm just thinking about a test my teacher dropped on us for tomorrow, and so I've been thinking about it a lot." Takeji said, the two of them just proceeding toward the school without much other conversation. They seemed to be in positive spirits though; well, Kyra was, though Takeji was in a good mood by the light smile on his face.

Notice
The RP has begun! You can all go and type out your morning activities, go down the normal school route where many students head, go down the alternative school route and go with Kyra & Takeji, or even just skip all that and be early or late to school. Remember, all characters attend the same school meaning that all of them will clearly go to school although there may be ditching of classes by those who don't generally like attending. Preferred you at least show up at school, though attending classes is optional as previously stated.

Not many people would suspect Hugh of being the type of guy that gets their day started at the crack of dawn (considering he was always late in the mornings). On the contrary, early mornings were Hugh's personal slice of heaven. The time frame happened to be the only part of the day least likely for him to run into something unnecessary while on a jog, namely other people. In that regard, Hugh would start his days with a pre-made breakfast, courtesy of Uncle Kazuya, followed by some light stretching, a mild jog, a quick shower, and preparing a bentou; all before heading off to school.

This morning routine was a sacred ritual to Hugh. If something went wrong here, the rest of the day would no doubt be in shambles. So as per the norm, Hugh got out of bed, put on his blue track suit, and went into the kitchen. Today's breakfast was a plate of rice cakes. After scarfing them down, Hugh made his way outside. The rising sun peeked just above the line of houses across the street, casting a pinkish-gold glow wherever it could reach. Hugh breathed in a yawn, catching a whiff of the dew covered grass around him, and began his regime. With a stretch here and a stretch there he was ready for his jog.

By the time he got back the sun had climbed into full view and a pleasant breeze managed to picked up. Hugh took his shower and proceeded to make he and his uncle's bentou. Long ago Hugh and his uncle had struck a deal that they would split the chores around the house. When it came to food, Uncle Kazuya handled breakfast, Hugh got lunch, and they would alternate on dinner. The agreement was ideal for Hugh considering he had managed to secure the making of lunch. Uncle Kazuya's bentous were a bit . . . overbearing.

Once finished, Hugh grabbed what he needed and hopped on his bike, affectionately called (Black) Shirley in private, and heads for school. He arrives early enough to find a secluded spot and settle down for a nap undeterred.

[Yuzuki Hasegawa]

[Yuzuki's Apartment - Bedroom]

"Welcome to the garden, young one."

The voice that comes out from the mysterious being in front of her echoed within her ears. Her emerald colored eyes continued to focus on the gate which was bearing of an unusual design, until her vision blackened...

*Gasp!*

Yuzuki lets out a gasp she woke up from that mysterious, yet ominous dream. She was hugging one of her pillows tightly, lying on her right side, while looking dazed. Yuzuki tried to comprehend the dream, but it seemed too much for her. Who is that foreign looking mysterious being that welcomed her to a... 'garden'? What are the figure's motives? What is the garden that he, or perhaps she welcomed Yuzuki to? She remained in her bed for a few good minutes, until her alarm clock blaring out loud. With a swift hand, Yuzuki quickly silenced the alarm clock, before letting out a sigh. It is a weekday, and that means school. It also means she has to get up and ready or otherwise get herself late.

("Am I getting too stressed? Maybe. Perhaps I should spend some time practicing archery again... Oh well.") She thought, when she got up from her bed, going to prepare herself for today.

* * *

After preparing herself, now wearing her school uniform, she went to the dining room for breakfast. When Yuzuki passed her older sister's room, she instinctively approached the door and knocked on it, while calling out her name.

"Tsukiko! It's--"

She abruptly stopped herself. Her sister has already gone to university after summer was over, and that was last week. After realizing this fact, Yuzuki pulled and sifted her hair in disappointment and frustration, while muttering to herself. Is it that she is still struggling with the absence of her older sibling? Or was it the ominous dream that ruined her composure that she commonly has? She really hoped that her parents did not notice that foul up she has committed, before continuing to the dining room. From there, she bowed and greeted her parents in a formal way. Then...

[Tokyo - Normal School Route]

As much as she wants to take the scenic route, Yuzuki decided it is better to take the normal route, since it will be much faster taking the subway lines compared to walking through those alleyways and dainty skybridges. The normal route was jam packed with people, as always. Salarymen, other students, OLs and so on. After crossing a pedestrian scramble, Yuzuki carefully made her way to her destination. When she entered the subway station, she queued for the countless subway ticketing machines.

After buying the right ticket, Yuzuki proceeds to wait at the assigned platform. She stood somewhat behind from the crowd that has formed earlier, in front of her. Even so, her eyes continued to observe the surrounding around her, as she waited for the train to arrive. After all, Yuzuki does not like taking chances.

Would she be able to meet her fellow students here?

...Where... Was this again?

Looking at the towering stone walls in front of him, the b████-haired boy couldn't help but feel... Well, something as his eyes scanned their bare exterior. There was nothing particularly outstanding about them, other than their immense height... But, he couldn't help but feel like there was something...

Well, he couldn't help feel like there was just something about them.

Whatever it was, thinking about it like this wasn't going to get him anywhere, he supposed. Doing his best to push those thoughts out of his mind the b████-haired boy averted his gaze, bringing it down to the wall's base and was met by the sight of a lone, massive gate. The thing was obviously wrought of steel, shining out in it's trademark metallic sheen. So then, it they were nothing out of the ordinary, right? I mean, a sight like this was no surprise, you could see gates like these by heading over to any rich-folk's house. Of course, like the walls they were built into, they were beyond massive, but other than that they were entirely normal...

So why couldn't he shake this feeling of peculiarity he felt when he looked at the-

Suddenly, he saw a figure out of the corner of his eye.

Until only a moment ago, he could have sworn he was alone in this place, but now, without a moment's notice, there was a man standing beside the gate. Where the hell had he come from? Was he always there?

Whichever why it was, he found that now that he had noticed the man, he couldn't take his eyes off of him.

"Welcome to the Black Garden, young one."

As he spoke those words, the b████-haired boy's vision faded into darkness, plunging back towards the waking world.

Daiya Isshiki - Subway

Morning

________________________________________________________________

As the subway train stopped to pick up the next batch of passengers, Daiya Isshiki was roused from his slumber.

"...Damn"

Ugh, had he really been out that late last night? Seriously, he'd been in bed by like, 1 AM at the latest, his body had no right to be dozing off on the train like this. Seriously, he could have missed his stop if he hadn't woken up when he had. Man, he'd even had that weird-ass dream to top it all off.

Seriously though, what was up with that?

Taking advantage of the train's stopping, Daiya stood up from his seat and brushed his blonde-dyed hair from his face, doing his best to remove the evidence that he'd been sleeping in public for the past... Who knows how long. Well, it wasn't like he was overly concerned with the prospect of sleeping in public himself, but... Well, it wouldn't be good for his image if the guys thought he was some sort of sleeping princess, would it? Well, there was that, and there was the fact that he'd been planning to do some studying on the ever-so-boring commute, but that was of less concern.

Ah, whatever. At least he'd look nice and pretty with all the extra beauty sleep he'd gotten.

Sighing, he dropped back into his seat, taking out a thick, black textbook and flicking through it to find wherever it was he'd last left off.

-Morning "Before School" -

Ezra jumped up from her bed with a shout, dragging the sheets of her bed up to her neck in fear. A sharp chill ran up the length of her spine as those final words repeated themselves over and over in her head. Ezra narrowed her eyes and sighed before swinging her feet over the left of the bed, picking up her glasses and placing them on as she stood up. She let out a relieved breath as her room came into focus, glad she wasn't still stuck in that dream world.

A knock from outside her door brought Ezra from her thoughts. "Honey? Are you up?" Ezra resisted the urge to cringe and stood up straighter. "I'll be out in a second, Mika-san." She walked over to her closet and grabbed the school uniform hanging there before heading off to the shower. She would skip breakfast today. After all, nothing would be more awkward and uncomfortable than sitting down with her father and his new wife.

-Morning "Going to School" -

Ezra pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she stepped onto the subway. She clutched her school bag close to her stomach to make sure it wouldn't be jostled due to the number of people walking about around her. Spotting a free seat was always like an intense game of war and when she saw one, Ezra didn't hesitate to lunge for it.

She settled into the seat with a relieved sigh and opened her eyes to see bleach-blonde hair. Her gut twisted and if she were that type of person, Ezra would've let out a few colorful choice words. Of course the only free seat would be next to this guy... He seemed to be asleep so she simply ignored his presence and took out her phone, idly searching up 'Black Garden' before the subway could start to move. There were no results.

Honoka loved music. She found it to be her only escape from the horrible reality that she had to face everyday. If it weren't for the promise of being able to play sweet music in her violin, it would be almost impossible for to wake up in the morning. Music allowed her to forget what was to come everyday and instead focus on being herself. Because of music she gets up before the sun rises every morning, hurriedly putting on her school uniform and, shoving a piece of toast in her mouth and grabbing her violin case.

Honoka, every morning would walk to school, the sun just barely rising over the tall large buildings of Tokyo. She was rather lucky to be able to walk to school no problem, where as most would take a train or ride bikes. The blonde girl leaned back, watching the dark blue sky slowly fade to an orange, a slow hop to her step. A sad smile appeared on her face, thinking about how nice it would be to share this moment with a friend. Honoka stopped mid step, her face falling to her ground. "You have friends Honoka. They're just still sleeping." She told herself a lie before turning the corner and entering the school grounds.

It was empty except a few teachers here and there. However, not even staff would worry about getting up this early and making it to school. Honoka silently made her way up the stairs, her shoes making soft hollow clicks. The sounds echoing throughout the quiet school. It was a lonely sound, but Honoka kept going until she was in front of the music room.

The girl slowly slide open the door, entering the room that was lit with orange. Happiness filled her face as she took in the musty smell of the music room. She quickly walked over to a music stand, pulling out her music sheets and placing them down in order. She then placed her violin case of the table, pulling out the thing she loved. She rested the instrument on her collarbone, pressing her chin down on the rest. With that she played a simple scale. G. A. B. C. D. E. F#. E. D. C. B. A. G. Her fingers skillfully played each notes, the soft string sound filling the room. Once she felt as though her fingers were warmed up, she started playing an actually melody.

An hour or so had passed when she finally finished practicing for the morning. She sat down her violin in it's case, gently wiping the sweat that had formed on her forehead off. Honoka, after lovingly stroking her violin, shut the case, locking it back up. She then walked over to the window, noticing how a few student were now arriving. She quickly went over to her music sheets, picking them up. It was a small eerily composition she wrote while practicing. It was filled with soft, legato parts that with a screech would turn into loud, harsh stacato notes. She was quite proud of this piece. The piece she had named The Black Garden.

~Dream~

A girl with pale pink hair was wearing a red black top, white short and black knee high combat boots. She was standing in front of a large black gate. She looked around wondering where she was. She felt like she was floating a empty void. She put a hand over her heart. She then suddenly a ghostly voice "Welcome to the Black Garden, young one.." she turned her head and a figure in a black cloak standing in front of the gate. She stared at the person and before she could say any everything when black.

~Reality~

The alarm clock went off and teal green eyes fluttered opened as sunlight started to spill into her room. The girl sat up on her bed and repeated the words she heard in her dream ".... Welcome to the Black Garden, young one..." she muttered and yawned " what an odd dream..." she added after adied and then heard a knocked at her door " Sis!, time to wake up" her little sister, Rena said. The girl smiled " I am wake... I'll be down in a few minutes" Rena smiled "ok!" She said and went downstairs to make breakfast.

The girl yawned and got out of bed and got ready for school. She brushed her teeth, washed her face and brushed her hair. Once done, she then wore her uniform, grabbed her book bag and went downstaira to go see if her sister is finished with breakfast. " Onee-chan! Look what mommy and daddy left!" She said happily as she ran up to her and showed her the note.

'Good luck in school honey! -mom

Have a great time in school you two-dad'

-love Minami and Klaus

P.S: I readied your lunch bags they are on the counter -mom

The girl smiled and Rena hugged her. The two sat down and ate breakfast. They talked and Rena seemed very nervous about her new school. The girl smiled at her calmly "you'll be fine.. don't worry... anyone hurt or bullies you.. tell me.. ok?" She said to her and Rena nodded. The two finished their breakfast and the girl went to the kitchen counter and saw two lunch boxes. One was red with black flowers and the other one was yellow with orange swirly design. The red one had a note on it says " Esther's lunch bag" the yellow on had a note that Saya "Rena's lunch bag " Esther grabbed the two and walked to her sister and handed her lunch bag to her " ready?" Rena nodded and the two left.

Rena hummed as she and Esther walked to her school, holding her hand. Esther smiled as she looked at her and then at her phone, following the GPS on it. They soon arrived at her school. Rena hugged her and Esther kissed her head. " stay safe... ok?" She said to her softly as she patted her head. Rena nodded " I will..." Rena let go of her and ran entered her school. Esther watched her leave and then walked of to her own school following her GPS.

Since she was new she didn't know she was taking the alternative route to the school. She yawned a little as she went back to remembering the dream. The images flashed through her head 'that was an odd dream...' she thought and stretched.

Setsuro padded across the kitchen in bare feet and pyjamas, holding up her hand to stifle a yawn. Following a well-practiced routine she retrieved a bowl, spoon, milk and cereal from the cupboards. Flipping the radio to a news channel on her way past, she sat down to eat breakfast in the empty apartment. Setsuro ate in silence, listening to the radio, drumming her fingertips on the table, restless and eyes aching with tiredness. She'd got back from the bar where she worked at 2.00 AM, but had been so dosed up on caffeine from her shift that she'd barely slept. Then when Setsuro had finally managed to doze off she'd had a bad dream, and it gnawed at the edge of her mind. She set down her spoon in the now empty bowl and rubbed her temples, wincing slightly. She couldn't remember the details, just how eerily real it had felt.

It was just a nightmare. She thought, picking up her bowl and taking it over to the sink. It wasnt real. It doesnt matter. Why is it bothering me like this?

With a tired scowl, Setsuro checked the clock that hung on the wall. School started soon. She swore softly; a whole day of school stood between now and the the start if her work shift.

Maybe I should just ditch class today. She thought. I could catch up on some sleep, then go and earn my paycheck this evening.

Setsuro considered this for a moment,

But I suppose that wouldn't be the sensible thing to do. It's not worth the trouble I'd get in with the faculty, especially at the moment.

With a sigh she turned away, Setsuro crossed the apartment to her bedroom, slid the door closed behind her, and started to get dressed for school.

The walk to her High-School didn't take long, and Setsuro enjoyed the morning breeze as it brushed dark hair out of her eyes. Tokyo was waking up, and people were beginning to flood it's pavements. Most were on their way to work, dressed in smart suits and carrying briefcases. Setsuro watched them with a pang of envy, imagining that her parents would, somewhere in the city, be doing the same thing. Among the tide of commuters however Setsuro could spot a handful of school uniforms that she recognised. She walked past them with a quick stride, nodding at younger students as they addressed her. "Good morning, Setsuro-senpai," and sparing a smile for a pair of fellow Third years with whom she was a passing aquaintance.

"Hey Setsu-san!" They called as she passed. "Why're you walking so fast? Come walk with us."

"Sorry." Setsuro called over her shoulder. "I need to see my Homeroom teacher."

She carried on walking, passing through the school gates a touch earlier than usual, well ahead of most of the other pupils. Setsuro paused just inside the gates to check her phone. She had one text, from her mother.

Your Father and I have gone on that business trip we mentioned, hope you hadn't forgotten. The apartment is yours for the next few days, remember to lock up when you go out. Have fun!

Setsuro rolled her eyes, before a voice snapped at her. Turning, she saw her homeroom teacher stalking over from the school building, her severe features pinched into a disapproving frown. Setsuro clenched her jaw and braced herself.

The argument was held in hushed tones, remarks hissed at each other under their respective breaths so that the other pupils wouldn't overhear. As it was, Setsuro drew several curious looks from arriving students. Barely inside the gates, and an honour student was fighting with one of the teachers. After two long, painful minutes, the homeroom teacher turned on her too-high-heels and stalked away. Setsuro was left standing by the school gates, glowering at the teacher's receeding back.

What I do outside of school is none of her business. She thought, if she wasn't such a frequent patron at the bar, she wouldn't even know I worked there, let alone how many times each week. I can look after myself; she shouldn't be interfering.

Setsuro continued to stand there as students flooded past her, trying to find flaws in her homeroom teacher's arguements, lost in thought,

"Welcome to the garden, young one..."

With those words, the old man disappeared. Leaving Reizou alone with nothing but an infinitely expanding wall to keep him company. He couldn't determine what lay beyond it, but it was something that left the young man with a feeling of dread. Rei had hoped the man could explain what he'd seen, but he had left as quickly as he'd appeared.

'What is this place?' he thought. This dream was clearer than anything he'd ever imagined possible. Was this what lucid dreaming was supposed to feel like?

As if aware that he was questioning the current reality, the world grew dark, and Rei could feel the sensation of falling rush through his body. Rather than fall through the floor, Rei began to ascend into the air, the wall, and all that it hid growing smaller beneath him as his eyes closed....

----

...And opened once more to the sound of a new day. Bids chirping. Branches shaking gently outside. The gentle tapping on the door. Rei's adopted mother was up early, as usual.

"Reizou? Are you up yet? "

"Yeah, mom...just a minute..."

Rei stood out of bed, his covers falling at his feet as he walked to his closet. He grabbed his outfit for the day, and got dressed. Once his clothes were on, he opened the door, giving his adopted mother a big smile.

"Ah, there you are! Had a good sleep?"

"I guess so."

"Hmm? What does that mean? Did something happen?" she asked, a slightly worried look on her face. Rei dismissed her worries with a frantic wave, and a nervous smile.

" No, nothing! It's nothing. really, It was fine."Rei replied, thinking back to the strange dream. He wondered if it all had meant anything, but his mind was taken off of that when his mother patted his shoulder.

Okay then. I made you some breakfast, so you can come get a bite to eat before you head off, alright?"

"Okay. I'm right behind you...."

----

Reizou finished his breakfast fairly quickly, and rushed out of the house after grabbing his backpack and giving his mother a hug. He wasn't exactly in a hurry as he ran off towards school; he was actually quite early. He just wanted to be there. There was no other way to really explain it. Rei guessed he was probably forgetting something, but it didn't matter if he didn't know what that thing was...

"Well! THIS is a new-" Diana was cut off by a man. He looked......... barely human. Definately had human features....... But maybe not? He was old thats for damned sure. "dreamm......." She finished. As before hand, she already got a gander at the extremely large wall that was infinite. And through the gate. She wasn't enjoying the dream... Something about the vastness of it seemed terrible. Was it death? Decay? Being alone?..... She couldn't interpret this one. "Hey, scary guy, what is this place?" She looked at him dead in the eye seeing as it was rude looking away.

"Welcome to the Black Garden, young one......"

His voice seemed just as vast and mystical as the unknown abyss that was the other side.... "Wha-" Being cut off again her eyes jutted open and were met with the harsh morning light.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She growled slightly at the sun, as if to intimidate it then hopped out of bed and stretched. "First off, rude dream. Cutting me off so suddenly. Secondly...... what was that.....?" She said to herself. It was so vivid. Like it was her who was there.

She stretched again and looked at the time. 3 minutes before her alarm went off. Challenge. Accepted. She jumped to the other side of her room and through on a Nike T-shirt. Blue with an orange logo. Than tore out a pair of Basket Ball Shorts with yellow stripes on the side. 'Damn!' She jumped out of them and through on some under wear first, "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE-" Cut short by her hand slamming down on it she laughed. "Guess I can win em all." She put on the shorts casually and then some black socks and went down stairs.

When down there, there was some toast with butter and milk with a protein bar next to it. "Thanks dad...." She smiled to herself. He had to work early sometimes, but he did his best to care when he was here. She scarfed down the two pieces of toast and drank the milk. She popped the protein bar into her backpack and went to the bathroom. Showered, brushed her teeth and out she went. Picking her backpack up as she left.

Being a fast runner and member of the track team she ran to school. Wasn't that far, about 4 blocks, so it was no biggy. When she got there, people were a few and far between. She saw one boy running up to the school. 'Ooooh' She remarked that his eyes were red and found that quite.... interesting. She ran up beside him and matched his pace. "Hey there" She smiled and waved. Red hair, red eyes and an athletic build. She couldn't ignore the fact that he was rather cute.

Reizou didn't notice the girl until she had made her presence known. He turned to see her. Rei didnt have many friends in this school, at the moment, so to have someone approach him was a bit of a lucky break. She was blond, with pretty eyes that seemed like they could tell you everything you wanted to know about her just by looking at them.At least, that's what came to mind when he looked at her. Although, that just may have been the actor in him talking. He also noted that the girl also had a really nice smile, which Rei returned happily.

"Hello to you, too. Great day for a run, huh?"

Rei slowed his pace a bit as he spoke. It was difficult for him to maintain his current speed, and make conversation at the same time.

"Hmm...What time is it...?" Ren'ai yawned and stretch his body. 'If it's still this early, then the bar almost empty. Well, maybe I can steal a shot or two. Ugh, my head is spinning...' He got up, and walked slowly down the stairs, to the bar. There, he met his uncle who was still fresh from the shower. "Ooh, Ren. Going to school?" Ren'ai tilted his head slightly and yawned before answering, "Yeah, it's a drag. But the thought of meeting some new cute faces today kinda rilled me up a bit. Hey, old man. Where do you put my bottle?"

His uncle. still holding towel to dry his hair, walked to Ren'ai and leaned his body toward him. "What bottle? Glen McKenna? I put it there, on the shelf. What, you gonna do some shot right now ?" Ren'ai shrugged and walked to grabbed the bottle, "Well, my head is still spinnin' from yesterday. I think a shot or two will clear my head up."

His uncle quickly grabbed the bottle before Ren'ai do his shot and smacked him in the head. "Stupid brat! Go get some milk ! If you do shot you'll be drunk by the time you're in school ! Beside, this is still early. Go wash your face and get your drunk ass to school, or I'll beat you to a pulp ! Got it ?!"

"Ugh.. Why do you have to hit me, idiot ?!" His uncle's eyes glared right at him, but before his uncle said anything, Ren'ai moved away while murmuring by himself.

'Man, my head still hurts. Damn that man. Ugh, I hope it didn't swell up.' Ren'ai arrived at the big gate of his school. It's gonna be his last year here. 'Uh, wait. Did I arrived to early? Oh, man... Now what am I gonna do....? Urp, my head hurts. I think I'm gonna take a nap...'

Ren'ai dragged his body across the school yard and enter the club building. This early, no one would be here and the teacher won't bother inspecting here. So he could get some nice solid nap without interruption from other students. As he walked up the stairs, he faintly heard a few music notes being played. Curious, he walked to the music room and noticed a young lady, with blonde hair playing her violin. She was too absorbed in playing her violin that she didn't notice Ren'ai was listening to her melody. Decided not to disturb the girl, he sat on the floor outside the music room, listening to beautiful melody that he heard, before he fell to his slumber...

Ren'ai stood there, alone in this big hollow area. with a single iron gate stood in the middle of the area. ".....What is this place? Uh, did I get hungover? Oh man, I need to tone down my drinking habit..." Suddenly, out of nowhere, a man walked toward him. Ren'ai couldn't saw the man clearly, the man was covered in weird smoke or some kind of hazy thing that made Ren'ai couldn't see him clearly. But he definitely knew that it was a man.

"Welcome to the Black Garden, young one."

Ren'ai suddenly felt a very painful headache, and he slowly lost his vision....

Ren'ai opened his eyes and noticed he has came back to the front of the music room. He looked around and tilted his head. "What the hell was that? ....Black Garden.....? Dammit...."

She caught his toothy smile and was pleasantly surprised by how adorable he looked. As she listened to him speak, he seemed like he would be a great story teller. She slowed down with him, flipping to running backwards just to show off a bit. Her legs had enough strength to keep up with him even though it was more straining than running forwards.

"Agreed! But then again, i may be biased. Being on track and all." She giggled a little then slowed to a stop realizing they better get introduced or class would start and she wouldn't even know his name!

"Im Diana." She held out her hand breathing slightly heavier than normal. "Track team 1500 meter runner. Nice to meet you!" A title she took great pride in. Being the 1500 meter, she had to train rather hard and didn't have a lot of time to get to know much people out side of track. So this was definitely a good time to start!

~Dreams Not About Bunnygirls~

He would have preferred it if his dreams had less foreboding gates that towered over him. In fact, he would have very much liked it if his dreams contained his long time favourite fantasies: cute girls in bunny-girl, hostess outfits. He wouldn't even have complained if he was given office ladies. Glasses were always a huge plus. They didn't have the absolute territory that the schoolgirls had, but a little bit of maturity didn't hurt. Short skirts, pantyhoses, high heels, oh my. Of course, nothing ever really went his way, and Makoto was severely disappointed when the same applied for his dreams. He placed one hand on his hip, and surveyed the surroundings, turning his head hither and tither. It didn't make much difference. A fog obscured the area as far as he could see behind him, while in front of him, the gate was flanked by walls stretched out into the unseen depths of the fog. Yeah, this was definitely a dream. It took him about a few moments before he noticed a figure by the gate's side. Great, a resident of the dream realm. Makoto took a step forwards, attempting to approach this figure, but he didn't move at all from the spot. He tried again, putting one foot in front of him slowly and shifting his weight forwards. Nothing. The distance between him and the person by the gate never decreased, almost as if he was trying to go somewhere atop a treadmill. What sort of subconscious spawned this dream anyway? Was he attracted towards gatekeepers or something? Good lord, what a fetish to have.

As he chuckled to himself about the proposition, the figure spoke, or it seemed that way. The voice came from it, definitely. It was soft, yet loud and clear enough for him to catch the exact words.

"Welcome to the garden, young one."

And that was it. The world swirled around him, as if someone had thrown water upon a watercolour painting. Makoto's expression hardened as everything slipped away around him, staring straight ahead at the person by the gate. Something within him told him that this wasn't the last time he was going to be seeing this dream. Call it a dreamer's intuition. Makoto scratched his head as he felt himself rising from his slumber. What a bother.

~Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman~

It was the same practice every morning for Makoto Fujiwara. Drop bread into toaster, start it up, brush teeth, forget that recently toasted toast burns like hell, drop toast on conveniently placed plate, spread butter, eat while pulling on his uniform, tell no one in particular that he's leaving the house (old habits die hard), and make a beeline for the school. Well, he WAS supposed to do that, but since a while ago, he sometimes deviated from his usual route, when he knew he wasn't going to be late for classes. He made it a point, usually, to arrive hella early, because that meant he could park himself in his seat and sleep longer until it was time to greet the teacher and all that boring hat. Then he would settle back down to sleep.

That having been said, the change in his morning routine was mainly due to one person. She was an exact foil to him in every way, calm, collected, and calculative. She was a little bit less altruistic than he was, but that was what the world was. Some people wanted recompense for their efforts. Makoto understood that. That was what made her so interesting. Much more interesting than all the other tryhards anyway. He flicked out his handphone, leaned against a pillar outside of the train station and waited. Usually he would have complained about the circumstances, but these ones were different. This one involved a pretty girl, with red hair to boot, just like the burning fires of the heart. He jacked his headphones into the phone, and slipped them over his head, and the familiar strains of Rick Rack filled the empty void of the world.

@Emiya Shin

It was the same every time, everything was gray to him, the trees, the sky...everything. Except the leaves, they were always blood red...always. At this point he could go through this dream like a cinematic experience, he knew what would happen next. Emile turned his head ever so slightly to the left hoping to hear or see something to help break the silence...Nothing. He knew what was coming next, he would look right and there would be nothing but a reflection of him standing there, a figure in a crow mask behind him. Emile turned his head to the right...and there was a gate. Well that's not right he thought in his dream, where was the figure in the crow mask. Emile stared at the gate and even though it was still silent, he could feel the unease build up in him, he tried to turn his head but he couldn't. He tried to step back...he couldn't. This was definitely not part of his dream and something instinctual told him to get the hell out of there and he saw a figure by the gate. Please be the crow...he hoped, but it wasn't, he couldn't make out what the figure was. Then he heard noise in his dream.

"Welcome to the garden, young one"

Emile's eyes opened slowly and looked at his ceiling and laid there without a sound. What was that dream and why had it ended with that voice...better yet, why had it taken over his original dream. Emile turned towards his clock and it was time for him to go to school, he would have to shelve his questions about the dream for later. Emile sat up groggily and yawned before showering and putting on his clothes, eating the meal that his Butler prepared for him, brushing his teeth and putting on his hat without brushing his hair. He decided that he would walk to school this time around and took out his phone to decided to text the only three people he could call his friends: Makoto, Reizuo and Daiya...well maybe not Daiya, he was more of a friendly Rival than a friend. He kinda wondered if he'd run into one of them, probably not. He yawned again and tried to shake the lingering feeling that the dream was something he should be worried about, he also hoped that Makoto wasn't gonna sleep in class, it usually meant that things were going to be thrown in his general direction...and Emile just happened to be in Makoto's general direction and usually got hit.

Rei grinned as the girl showed off a bit. It was impressive how she was able to keep her pace while running backwards. As she came to a stop, and started to talk, Rei decided to take a break in his running, as well. It was then that he got his first real look at the girl(who told him her name was Diana). She had a runner’s build, which fit her statement of being on the track team. She also wore the customary running tee, track shorts that showed off her well toned legs, and sneakers to match the classification. Rei hadn’t attended a meet yet. Now, he thought, he had a compelling reason to do so.

“Wow, that’s pretty awesome! Oh, I’m Rei. I almost forgot. Rei Asagao. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Diana!”
He replied while adjusting his backpack, which hung from one of his arms. He took her hand, shaking it firmly with a grin still etched on his lips.

The girl gathered her things, fixing a note here and there. After organizing it all in order she placed it in her folder, sliding it into her messenger bag. She stopped moving then. Just standing there she thought about the new piece she wrote. She has no clue why this memory came to her just today. She could not tell you exactly when or where this memory happened, but she could tell you every single detail. From the large, pure white stone wall, to the decorated black gate. The way that nothing seemed to be behind the gate only made her more curious. It was gorgeous. It was the definition of beauty and what inspired the soft, gentle and beautiful measures in her composition. However, just like how at a random time her music took a turn for the worse, so did this memory. A large man- if you can even call him that stood in front of the gate. His face seemed to be a skull with no jaw. He was completely covered in a black cloak. He gave a simple greeting and then her memory stops. She couldn't remember anything else.

After thinking about her memory she pinched herself, making herself become alert. She zipped up her bag and hooked it around her fingers. She then took her other hand and softly smacked her cheeks a few times. "Pity party is over Honoka. Time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and make others feel better." She took a deep breath, forcing a smile on her face. The blonde then took her violin and put the straps around her shoulders. With that she headed out the door, only to hear a voice. "black garden" Honoka stopped breathing for a second, her eyes going wide as she looked at the boy with brown hair.

"Um excuse me? Did you just say something about the black garden?" She asked, her face blank as she stared at him. She then noticed that she wasnt smiling and shook her head. She let out a small 'heh' before tilting her head and smiling, her hair falling to the side slightly.

Ren'ai tried to clear his head after the weird dream that he had. 'Oh, man.... That was weird.... Who is that man...? Ugh, so dizzy....' Just then, he heard a voice. Not the old man's voice, but it had higher pitch. More like a girlish man. Ren'ai shook his head hardly, and his vision start to became clearer and clearer. Well, actually, it's a girl. She had blonde hair, and quite small for her age. She carried a small bag by her fingers and a big bag on her back. Even though she was smiling, Ren'ai could notice a small sigh before she smile.

"Um excuse me? Did you just say something about the black garden?", she asked. Ren'ai noticed that her voice is actually kinda soothing, but he noted a small hint of sadness.

"Uh, what? Black garden? Heh, I don't know. It was just some weird dream anyway. So, don't mind me and my weird muttering." Ren'ai stood up and took his bag on the floor. "Well, it's kinda weird to see student this early, especially in here. And, wow, you're pretty. But, I think I never saw you before around here. Are you a freshman? Well, the name's Ren'ai Shikijou. Nice too meet you, uh...." Ren'ai hold out his hand, waiting for the girl to shook his hand. 'Why am I getting nervous here? Sigh, I hope she didn't notice my voice kinda slurry....'

Now she was able to take the full body of the boy in. As she thought, he definitely was an attractive person. Didn't seem closed off as most people were to new friends. His body was both lean and fit, that of a swimmers body. His hair was shaggy and a beautiful shade of red which was very striking. His eyes caught her attention the most though, they were the same shade of red as his hair, beautiful, story book eyes. Everything he did matched the way he spoke. He was definitely his own person. The way he had his back pack over one shoulder thrown on kinda halfheartedly. The way he shook his hand. She was definitely impressed by his confidence.

"Pleasures all mine Rei." She held on to her smile for a bit longer then remembered her dream. "OH-HEY! Do you by chance know any place in the city called 'Black Garden'?" She looked at him inquisitively. Must've been a place she hear of before. What other explanation could there be? She patted her leg, as was her issue when she was excited or interested greatly in something.

OOC: Sort of half arsed since I'm currently sleepy ~_~ and I just want to get the interaction moving before the train arrives (not sure whether you have plans etc and I decided not to take anything for granted by fast forwarding the scene straight to the train after Yuzuki's greetings) and Yuzuki gets on to it before realizing that she's on the same train as Daiya and Ezra.

[Yuzuki Hasegawa]

[Tokyo - Normal School Route - Subway Station]

@simj22

While waiting for the train to arrive, Yuzuki's eyes noticed someone familiar. A young male exuding a laidback aura with stylish-looking black hair in a school uniform outfit. The uniform that he is currently wearing is similar to the school she was currently attending to. With a modern, bright orange Technica Audio headphones on his ears, he was leaning comfortably on a pillar nearby, presumably enjoying his own library of musics from a device which was kept into one of his pockets. Of course, it was none other than Makoto Fujiwara. When their gazes met, Yuzuki displayed a light smile to him, before taking a few step towards his location.

"Good morning, Fujiwara-kun." She greeted, as a gesture of courtesy. "Did you sleep well last night?" Yuzuki continued on, taking an alternate way to kick off the interaction, instead of speaking the usual 'how are you'.

From there, she waited for his response, while waiting for the train to arrive. Its arrival could be any time soon, as Yuzuki took another glance into her white-colored Sharp Aquos Crystal smartphone for the current time. For now, she seems to temporarily put aside the ominous dream about welcoming her to a 'garden' earlier on today. Depending on how Makoto responded to her words, it is possible that Yuzuki can reveal the experience to him.

Rei's eyes grew wide in shock when Diana asked her question. It wasn't quite what he remembered, but the name was quite familiar to him. He'd heard it recently. Just this morning, in fact. In a dream.

But there was no way she could know about his dream! It wasn't a common thing, dreaming of strange places with large walls that contained an cold, endless abyss...

There must have been a mistake. He had to have misheard what Diana had said to him. She could have been talking about the Black Wardens, the fictional order in that popular rpg that came out recently. Yeah, she totally could have been talking about that place... But, she asked about a place. And she didn't seem like the gaming type. Rei felt his nerves getting the better of him, and took a moment to shake off this strange feeling within himself, before responding to Diana.

"Uhm...Im sorry, I might be confused, but it sounded like you asked about a...black garden?"

She watched his every expression. He was scared of the question? that was a bad way to put it she thought. Maybe more shocked? a mixture of the two. Definately. She saw the "gears turning" as he pondered the question. Is he trying to get out of the question? HE KNOWS WHERE IT IS! 'See, it meant nothing D! Silly' She thought to herself. Then silently congratulated herself on her figuring it out so easily. Then came his question.

"Uhm...Im sorry, I might be confused, but it sounded like you asked about a...black garden?" Well yeah of course I did.

"Uhm.... yes? Yes i did kind sir!" She gave off a brilliant smile though slightly shadowed by minor confusion. 'What does he mean "Did i".... Maybe its a bad place! Oh no Oh no! It Can't be good with the name "Black Garden" it cant be all happy and sunshine!' she stressed to herself. What a roller coaster of a day its already been for her. School hasnt even started yet.

There was no denying it, then. That dream he'd had was more than just a dream. How was it possible? This was beyond any form of strangeness that Rei had ever come across. Two people sharing the exact same dream? It-

Wait. He didn't even know if she had experienced the same thing. Maybe there really was a place called Black Garden. Maybe, Rei was overreacting.

...or maybe there was more to this than he wanted to admit. Maybe this was the beginning of somethi-

Rei's thoughts were cut off when he was bumped by a student walking past. His pack fell off his shoulder as a result, but the other student didn't seem to notice. Rei picked up his bookbag, shrugging off the incident.

"Heh, I guess school is opening up in a bit..." Rei said, turning towards the building as the other students idling outside of it started to go in. He turned back to Diana, and gave another smile, though less enthusiastic than before.

"Uhm...can we talk about this some more later? Around lunchtime, maybe?"

Honoka Hashimoto

She was slightly taken back by how much this boy had to say. Just from a few words she could already tell he was a people person. A people person who smelled like a hint of alcohol. One really wouldn't be able to tell unless he got up in people's personal space. Honoka quickly dug out from her bag a small perfume bottle. She quickly spritz the cherry blossom smell in his direction. "You reeked of alcohol. Sorry. You'll smell a lot more like girl and less like gin though." She shrugged, a smile still placed on her lips. She then looked down at his hand, staring at it for a few moments before taking it in her own, ignoring the pretty comment. She knew he didn't mean it and was just being polite.

"Honoka Hashimoto. Second year." She said curtly, letting go of his large hand soon after. Honoka pulled her bag up her shoulder a little more as it slide down a bit. "Uh. I guess it could be weird. But I've been coming to the music room early for the past year. I even have a key to the room." She pulled out the necklace with a key on the chain from underneath her shirt. After showing it off a bit she placed it back, turning her had to look back into the music room and out the window. "The Black Garden. Pretty white walls. A cloaked man. Right?" She gave a few details that anyone would have noticed. She then looked back at Ren'ai, softly giggling. "I've been there. I'm not sure when. But i'm almost positive i've been there." She decided, maintaining the small smile on her face.
