Cyprus

Fantasy Fanatic
βž₯ Greetings friends and fellow writers! My name is Cyprus, and I am an active, dedicated college student with around nine years of role-play experience. As a new member of RPNation: I am still getting accustomed to the formatting and coding habits, so I apologize if my partner search seems bland. I'll be working on this aesthetic over time, but I promise that the literary technique will make this a worthwhile read. If it wasn't already apparent, I am an advanced, literate writer that's looking for partners of similar talent and interest. To preface my rules and ideas, I'd like to quickly state that everything here is a simple guideline. If there is a plot that you think I'd like, but I don't have listed: feel free to talk to me about it anyway. The worst that I can tell you is that I'm not motivated by the story or the characters. It doesn't hurt to try, and I certainly won't be mean about refusals. I love taking on new challenges and environments, but I need muse to write. Without interest, the role-play would be a rather poor, equally dispassionate affair. So keep that in mind upon approach, and understand that communication is key to an exceptional role-play experience! That said, lets get into the rules for this search...and eventually the actual ideas. For the sake of clarity and visual ease, I would also like to point out that this search is best viewed in RPNation's Dark theme. This is the theme that I used while designing this post, and I felt the aesthetic worked best with it. Use at your discretion.

RULES & GUIDELINES
"𝕋𝕙𝕖 π•₯𝕣𝕦𝕖 π•₯π•£π•šπ•’π• 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕒 π•¨π•£π•šπ•₯𝕖𝕣."
[☾] - Advanced Competency or above, in English, is required for a role-play with me. I have no intention of sounding elitist, but I can't enjoy any scenario that isn't founded on the basic principles of professional, fictional literature. What I'm looking for is a writer that showcases an inclination toward proper grammar, correct spelling, and appropriate word-choice. Mistakes happen, but it needs to be clear to me that this partner has an extensive grasp on English language and isn't afraid to flex their creative muscles to describe some truly memorable images. Again, I'm not searching for a Tolkien or Shakespeare. Just don't misspell every third word and take me out of the immersion with poor, fragmented sentences. The quickest way to lose my interest is to show me that you're incapable of using a keyboard.
[☾] - It's understandable to be shy when approaching strangers. I've dealt with my fair share of introversion, but that's something that I'll only respect to a certain degree. What I mean by this...is that I don't want you to be coy about what you're looking for from our role-play. Communication is an important aspect of an efficient partnership: which means that we'll need to actively talk to each other. This helps us determine what is best for our characters, while also giving us the opportunity to decide how the scenes can be improved. The trial run isn't always perfect, and I readily recognize that fact. Lets discuss what went wrong, and we'll work toward something better. If you're unable to see the value in this kind of revision, then perhaps we're not meant to be partners. Silence is a role-play killer: it leads to disinterest and apathy due to lack of involvement. People want to be engaged, and I don't blame them for that because I feel the same. For this to work, you'll need to tell me when you don't like something!
[☾] - Minimum of three, solid paragraphs per post. Quality should be prioritized, obviously, but I also need to impress the fact that my muse can be fickle when posts are smaller. It's like receiving a bone without the meat. The bone might be from a quality animal, but there's not enough for me to actually sink my teeth into to help me understand that rich background. You might possess skill with the pen, but I'll never know much of your ability when you convey that to me a few sentences at a time. Some writers like to say that their posts are shorter to avoid fluff, but I assure that there is always something to write about that's relevant to the scene. A novella worth? Potentially not. Three, decently-sized paragraphs? Absolutely. Coming up short on this requirement is a sign of laziness or lack of imagination.
[☾] - Schedule-flexible, but consistently posts once a week: at minimum. I understand that finding time to role-play can be frustrating for those with other obligations, but I'm not looking for partners that are excessively busy. If we're going to create a plot together, then I'm going to ask that you be present. This doesn't need to be constant or even hourly, but I expect a reply once or twice a week. I don't think that this is too much to ask, and should be considered the minimum. I'll gladly accept and return replies everyday, because freedom from college has given me an excessive amount of time with which to write. There are exceptions like hiatuses and such, but this shouldn't be a repetitive thing. It is difficult to stay invested with a partner that is gone for weeks on end. Don't put me through that!
[☾] - Fandom settings require a [Canon x Canon] pairing. Sorry to crush anyone's dreams, but I can't do it otherwise. Something about an [OC x Canon] pairing is unsettling, and I'd prefer to leave that to personal fan-fictions. If I'm going to role-play in a setting that I adore, I want it to be with characters that I already understand and love. Not to say that I won't enjoy your original characters, but I'd prefer that they be paired with my original characters for the sake of fluid story-telling. This is a personal preference that might lose me a few potential candidates, but I can't really get past this. However, I am more than willing to double. I've plenty of experience with puppeteering several characters within a scene, and I actually enjoy it. It is great for world-building, and adds some additional entertainment.

This is the merchandise that I currently have to offer. It's every readily conceivable pairing and setting that I felt was worthy of inclusion, but -as I said before- they are only suggestions. If there is another setting or pairing that you think I would enjoy, feel free to let me know. Aside from that, I elected to remove plot ideas from this search. We're going to come up with these on our own, so I'd rather that they not be based on templates. I thought it best to simply provide the settings and pairings because that will give us a solid foundation to ensure that we have similar interests. Though that doesn't quite account for meshes in writing style. To accommodate that particular need, I've decided that every approach will be supplemented by a written sample of your choosing. It doesn't matter to me what you write about, but I want it to be original. Something that you came up with to get my attention, and something that you actually enjoyed writing. Consider it a "code word". Beyond that, I hope you enjoyed the read and I look forward to hearing from you.
