Fandom Overwatch: Talon's Grip

Shade sighed as Athena explained the God Program further. "Well then," he said. "Looks like I'm in trouble too." As they all entered the ship, Shade simply sat to the side. He didn't know anyone here particularly well: of course he was acquainted with all of them in one way or another, but the only people he'd ever become friends with were the members of Blackwatch. Everyone had their own little groups, so he let them mingle as he sat out by himself.

"His hair. He still has a little hair thorn," Ailani pointed out, "No one else noticed?" It was a small detail, She didn't expect anyone to see it, or even draw a connection. "Though it's an old man color now." But as soon as she heard Gabriel's name, she would seem to catch on. Ana only had to confirm it, making her heart sink. She felt a nauseous, and really let down. "Oh...." She said quietly. It was like he died all over again. "That uh....that really sucks." How could he do this? He was a good guy! Like, he was always there for her, and she knew other people had the kind of relationship she had with him. She almost couldn't believe it, she didn't want to either, but...Ana normally didn't lie. She didn't say anything else, taking a few steps away from the group. Just in time to as Serena decided to trap her mother and Jack in a bear hug. Ailani just...the thought of someone she saw as a father, turned into a monster like that...it hurt. Like really hurt, Ailani didn't like this feeling. It was the same feeling she had every single time someone left her. Her mom, her sister, the first time everyone died! It's just, a little much to process.

She didn't say much if anything else as they got on the ship, sitting down next to her mother. There was little comfort there. And the conversation she was about to have was just gonna make things a little more tense. "That's because it's not. It's a little lame for a bounty hunter now isn't it?" She said, looking at her. "Don't worry though, you still have Faereha if anything happens to me. By the way, does she even know you're alive?" She asked, "Cause, I'd like to not be the only one she absolutely hates right now." Her tone was snappy, rude, and a little angry. But who wouldn't be? Ailani was sitting next to the woman who sparked her older sisters hatred of her, who left them, and had left her long before. It would take time before the motherly tone Ana was ussing was justified in Ailani's point of view. "Besides, I don't really think you have the right to judge me. You and Jack are both breaking the laws in the same way I am. We're practically in the same line of work."
