Fandom Overwatch: Talon's Grip OOC

Otakuyaki Otakuyaki Talking roleplay, should I wait for a response from Bird and/or you again before replying? I was going to make Sago enter the conference hall (or at least try to, with all the commotion starting) but it looks like your Serena was planning something since the green arm looks suspicious.

I think wait on Noivian Noivian but no matter what action you take, I think I can go through with what Serena thinks anyway.

Since your character ran to his car for his stuff, Reaper will be free to do what he wants until he came back, cause grabbing your stuff from a parking lot isn't instant.

So in that fraction of time, Reaper and the others will have a moment to do what they want.

Yeah I'm knew that, it's hard to account for timings though, and since I had no idea of his next move I couldn't plan accordingly. Need me to edit it?

No. There's no need to edit unless the action is not possible because of a previous post or a simple writing mistake. I think that's what's fun though, you can't plan for anything.

Yoooo guess who got Genji and Hanzo's skin in the same box... this guy!!

Also I upgraded my Overwatch to the Game of the Year edition, $10 instead of $20 if anyone was thinking about it. Honestly I originally wasn't gonna do it but it also gives 10 loot boxes, non anniversary, and I think the team deserves the cash anyway since I already only paid $20 for the base game.

Lol, he kinda looks like he'd be a jokester kinda guy. I can't speak for creator of the roleplay but we do have a lot of serious characters and some comedy would be welcomed.
Well in the A-Team Murdock was used for comedy relief. So, it would make since for my guy to be the comedy relief too. In my case however, the comedy comes from my guy and his split personalities.

Comedic relief characters are welcome. I have a character similar to Sombra in the villains' side. Just make sure he has actual abilities to justify him being with the others' characters, otherwise, he may not have any presence in the plot.

Is this open?
Absolutely.

Yeah, Reaper's identity is a secret. And if anyone is wondering, no, no one should remotely know that Sombra worked with Talon.

I see your profile picture of genji has gotten even cuter. But on a better note: I just watched the Steven Universe Wanted special.

Holy shit on my tit. I can't wait to see how it develops.

Steven Universe is such a good show it literally is the Avatar the Last Airbender for this next generation. I kinda wanna talk theory so I'll put it in spoiler in case someone didn't see Wanted.

I've seen people point to Pearl, Yellow Diamond, and White Diamond as the possible killer for Pink Diamond. I personally subscribe to the White Diamond theory, only because she's been shrouded in so much mystery. Perhaps the Yellow Diamond and White Diamond are working together for that, but I'm not entirely sure why... Also, I'm theorizing that the Diamonds weren't the rulers for the entirety on Homeworld, in screenshot we see a crumbling statue of what is obviously a fusion between two gems (I think it's in Off-colors). Since fusions are so frowned upon in current Homeworld, perhaps the Diamonds took over, and generated that huge Kindergarden we see. Got any theories? [/SPOILERS]

In the trial, we know that the demise of Pink Diamond shouldn't have happened, since Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz were enemies. I personally feel like settling them as enemies is very one-dimensional, and may not be how the Crewniverse wants to tell the story of Pink Diamond.

We've seen that Blue Diamond has the ability to incite a great depression among all gems within proximity during the Trial. Although I speculate that this is an ability shared by the all the Diamonds. It would make a great ability for leadership after all, and each of the two Diamonds, thus far, have shown to be primarily driven by a single emotion anyway. Yellow Diamond is driven by an anger, she is shown to be rash, impatient, demanding, and confident. Her anger manifests itself as strength, but it is also her rash behaviour that makes her personality flawed. Blue Diamond is driven by an abysmal grief, and sadness incites empathy. It would explain Blue Diamond's court being very diplomatic, but it also proves to be her undoing, simply whenever she thinks of Pink Diamond's passing.

An ability to make other gems share in what you feel is an amazing ability for a leader. It would allow for a leader's people to sympathise with her, and understand what she feels, why it is deep, and why they should follow her. It is also my spculation that the Diamonds view humans as a lesser species because they are not affected by their emotions, which was why Blue Diamond wanted Greg for the human zoo because he had the ability to sympathise with her loss.

So I speculate that Pink Diamond would be primarily driven by love, which is a dominant theme in the show and explains Rose Quartz's entire character. After all, the Rose Quartz gems seem to be gems uniquely under Pink Diamond's employment(while she was still in being), and are also powerful; they may very well be the equivalent of an Aquamarine or Topaz to Pink Diamond.

My theory is concerned with Pink Diamond's love for Earth. I don't think Pink Diamond could have been shattered by Rose Quartz if she was her honestly her enemy. And that's where I think the downside of Pink Diamond's unique quality(among the Diamonds) if love lies. Where Blue Diamond lacks conviction(due to her depression) and Yellow Diamond is impertinently rash(due to her quick anger), Pink Diamond may have been self loathing. She may have come to love the Earth, or hated her existence as a Diamond.

Perhaps the war waged on for as long as it did because Pink Diamond was initially pressured by her homeworld and fellow Diamonds to continue with the colonisation of Earth, but we've seen Rose Quartz's ability to mentally connect with other gems(even while they were awake) as seen when Steven connected with Malachite. We've even seen Steven swap bodies with Lars. It is a possibility that it is through this private connection that Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz were in correspondence.

Did Pink Diamond want to be a Diamond? Like Amethyst: did she want to be made? The reason why no Sapphire saw it coming or no Agate tried to defend her could have been because she didn't want them to. As Zircon mentioned, "Whoever did this was already close to Pink Diamond... Someone her guard would allow to get near her... Someone she would listen to when asked to stop her palanquin and step outside". The flaw is that this argument is entirely assuming that Pink Diamond did not want to be shattered, and moreover, was oblivious to Rose Quartz's coming.

But what if Rose Quartz was the one who was close to Pink Diamond? And when she decided she wanted to be shattered, she abandoned her guard, she left her palanquin by volition, and that's why Pink Diamond's palanquin was in such a remote location.

Naturally, this argument has many assumptions, but I think that Pink Diamond's case would be the perfect opportunity for the Crewniverse to deal with one final theme: suicide. Just as they have dealt with themes of disability, discrimination, and death, I think the Crewniverse is ultimately setting up the story in a direction to teach(or at least provide discussion) about a lesson ultimately beyond a child's just as they have done with the rest of the show. I am being overly analytical with all of this, but I truly think no one wanted Pink Diamond to be shattered more than Pink Diamond, herself.

After all, would Rose Quartz really shatter a gem, even if that gem was a Diamond? Naturally, I think my argument is flawed because Rose Quartz wouldn't accept shattering a gem just because the gem wanted to be unless something absolutely drastic happened, and it may very well be that a Diamond is the lone perpetrator behind all of this, but I do enjoy it when the Crewniverse deals with darker themes.

I think your theory definitely seems possible, however that still doesn't answer the question as to how. If Pink Diamond were suicidal, and knew Rose Quartz was coming, that means that the theory centers around the idea that it was the sword that shattered her. Since we know that the sword cannot be used to shatter any gem, let alone a Diamond, and that to all witnesses of the incident the sword did indeed shatter Pink Diamond, it situation still doesn't add up. I don't think Pink Diamond could shatter herself by sheer will and make it look like Rose Quartz did it. I was thinking perhaps there was a second assailant, possibly behind her so that the weapon would have went through the body from behind, shattered the Diamond, but since everyone was focused on the rogue Rose Quartz, whoever actually shattered wasn't seen. From that perspective, if Pink Diamond were suicidal, that would require some sort of collusion.

To be honest I was about to write more about how Rose Quartz may have just been a figurehead for a rebellion wanted by Pink Diamond, however, that would rely on Rose Quartz being seen being regretful for what she had to do. I think this is mostly assumed by the fandom, since we know of her philosophical code against shattering, but does she regret shattering Pink Diamond? I think the only time we see Rose Quartz emotion like that is in the Room, which we know is just a figment of Steven's imagination/the Room's work, so it can't be entirely true. If she did regret it, that kinda pushes the established theory that Pink Diamond orchestrated the rebellion. That would make sense to work with your theory, that she was suicidal and wanted the end. As for the second assailant, it may very well be Pearl or perhaps an unknown member of the Crystal Gems, someone who was still in Pink Diamond's entourage. However, the end of The Trial heavily implies that it may have been a Diamond that shattered Pink Diamond.

There's been a bit of a mixed bag of theories about that ending. Some say Yellow Diamond did, some say White Diamond did, or perhaps that it's a Red Herring from the show's creators and wasn't one of them at all. We know that gems can change forms, and though we never seen any Diamond do so, but it very well may have been another Diamond attacking her. I think the most likely candidate for that would be White Diamond, because being white she can easily shine as different colors under different lights and therefore can fit right in. It's a thought, but I'm not a big fan of this theory because it still doesn't make sense as to what weapon shattered Pink Diamond.

Honestly I just can't wait for more episodes to come out, especially with these new Off-Colors. Rhodite (Pearl + Ruby fusion) I think it my favorite character-design so far in the show... I love her. I need more information it just hurts.

At this point, I agree. I just want the Crew to come out with whatever cruel plot they have in store to break my heart.

I love Rhodonite. I am interested, however, in Padparadscha's reaction to Garnet, who is part Sapphire(perfectly functional Sapphire, if I might add), as well as the Crystal Gem's reaction to Fluorite when they can't even maintain a fusion of four gems for long(I'm talking Alexandrite). I also wanna see how Rhodonite meets Garnet, a fellow fusion with a Ruby. I'm excited to see how they meet.

On a less-spoilery note, who are we waiting for the RP? I'd love to keep talking about SU but I don't wanna spam the OW OOC chat with it haha.
