You've been stuck in your apartment for awhile now. The streets started becoming rather dangerous yesterday; it looks like some people started getting a little "delirious" after being afflicted with the new bug going around. Several hospitals were overwhelmed by large numbers of people seeking treatment, and apparently things got pretty violent. According to the news, the situation is very dire and people have been simply advised to stay indoors.

There's some general ruckus occurring in your apartment, although you have not left your 10th storey room yet. Your door is locked, and you still have that stuff the health officials gave you two days prior.

Spoiler: The Stuff

Your apartment abode has the essentials. Bed, bathroom, kitchen, couch, TV. Your fridge still has some food in it.

On your person, you have a mobile phone. However, you can search your residence for other basic items you may want.

I remember those silly reality shows like Doomsday Prepared People! and the like. I look for my camping rucksack, portable charger and collect the non-perishables from my food cupboards. I try to get through to my parents on my cellphone.

You look around, and find some of the cans in your kitchen. There's some hardtack crackers and some dried noodles as well.

You check your mobile phone and try to call your mom and dad, but don't get any reception. Maybe something happened to this area's cell phone mast.

You grab your camping backpack from your closet, as well as your portable charger.

I try to log into my desktop and see if I can get into contact through there. I fill up any used/empty water bottles and containers with water.

 

[Lorsh]

You go onto your computer, sitting down at your wheeled chair. It's a sturdy enough thing, enough to support your above-modest weight.

The computer turns on without a problem. The only way of quick contact is your Auto-Mail service. Your dad appears to be online, though.

I send an email telling my Dad to turn his chat on. While I wait for him I search for websites on craft survival and any information about this infection I can dredge up from my GoodChat! friends.

You begin to search for websites that contain survival tips, but you're not having any looks so far.


You receive a message from your father on GoodChat after sending a heads-up to him on your Auto-Mail account.

I log off. I go to look out the window.

Looking out the window, you see that there is some chaos on the street down there. People running around, screaming, fighting each other. There's some sirens here and there, but most of the emergency vehicles are wrecked or stuck in the massive traffic jam on the street. There's a lot of noise once you get closer to the window, and if you were to open it, it would probably be deafening. Stuff just doesn't look very good.

I look in the kitchen for a weapon.

 

[Lorsh]

You go into your kitchen and rummage through your drawers until you find a fat old kitchen knife, fit for stabbing and slashing action in a kitchen setting. Though it it's improvisational, it may have to simply do for now.

You hear some ruckus and people yelling out in your storey's hallway.
