Moss quickly swam to her. He urgently patted her back. 'Let go. Grab on to me.' he mouthed, as he released his spell. The water around Christine calmed somewhat, as though there was an invisible something that kept the tide a couple of feet around them from sweeping them away. She could see lines of bubbles and the vortex of the current passing, following the contours of some invisible circle around them, and then the water around her head swirled outwards leaving her with a pocket of air to breathe.

Slow underwater, Moss can see Christine flinch from his pats before relaxing. Blinking her eyes open to see a familiar gold, teal, and white blurry figure as her form steadied. Then she watched in amazement of the bubbles dancing around her hea——her lungs stopped aching! There’s air!
Christine gasped and wheezed in air before coughing out water. She gave a silent thumbs up. “Thank you.” She mouthed. “Let’s get Andrew and Isa.”

With Christine holding onto Moss’ shoulders, they swam up to the surface. The boat rocked violently. Moss can hear Isa screaming in his panic with Andrew screaming back his annoyance before growling; panicking in his own right as he held onto the pole with Isa tucked between.
Andrew snapped his head towards Moss’ voice and screamed back. “Grab Isa!”
“What?!”
Next thing they knew, the redhead was tossed overboard-! Screaming like a wounded animal before he crashed into the raging waters. Andrew followed suit, diving after him.

Moss looked enraged.
One of the lines that should never be crossed was crossed. Still holding on to Christine, with a burst of speed he dived and quickly hugged Isa to him.
The waters around his head parted to give him an air bubble, and for a moment Moss stayed still underwater pressing a kiss on his forehead whispering, "It's okay, it's okay. You're safe, you won't drown. We'll stay down here for a while where it's less bumpy, but you're safe, Isa, I got you, we'll be okay. I'm going to get Andrew now, you just hold on to me just like Christine." and he cupped his face and looked at him reassuringly through the haze of water.

As soon he felt familiar arms and could breathe, did Isa heavily gasped and heaved air. Letting out breathy sobs and sniffles, quieting down from the kiss on his forehead and comforting words, clinging onto Moss, and didn’t move. The redhead forced himself to open his clenched eyes, squinting to see the merman’s hazy face. Then he nodded, croaking his words. “O-okay.”
Christine, adjusting from the sudden speed underwater, managed to understand what was going on, and pulled Isa close once Moss let’s go of him. Reassuring him that he’ll be okay and patting his back. She actually tucked him between her and Moss, keeping one hand on the merman’s shoulder with the other on Isa’s. The surface above them disturbed once more and the trio can see Andrew whom pinched his nose and holding onto his glasses in one hand. Isa hugged Moss tightly, keeping his face between his shoulder blades.

Moss looked coldly at Andrew. He seemed fine. And for a moment he considered letting the tides take him, terrify him as much as Isa is terrified. Though it might kill him . . . He decided to just look at Andrew, not giving him an air bubble, not coming close, but near enough when it came to merman swimming speeds to grab him if his life was in danger.
The shore was probably more dangerous than the deep sea, but Isa cannot stay here. They've got to get to land. The air bubbles expanded to encompass Moss, Isa's, and Christine's heads. "Isa, if we get close to the cliffs, can you teleport us to the top?"

It seems like Andrew didn‘t notice Moss or the others as much. He swam back up to the surface to take a deep breathe and dive back down. Forming his own air bubble and put his glasses back on, muttering on how he wished he could wipe them dry. Then he kept his eyes on the surface, waiting for something.
When the bubbles expanded and he heard Moss’ question, Isa shakily nodded. “Y-yeah. E-easy.” He sounded desperate to just leave and scuttle under a blanket. The surface of the ocean broke as the ship they rented sank heavily; Andrew swam away from it, spotting Moss and the others beforehand, and silently huffed. Once he got close to the trio, he crossed his arms, and patiently waited.

Moss Atlantean runes glowed and the waters around them buffeted them towards the shore. He unceremoniously grabbed Andrew, as he put on a burst of speed, swimming for the cliffs. He didn't dare go so close where the current could dash them against the rocks, and then their heads broke the surface of the water. "Ready, Isa!"

As soon he heard Moss’ confirmation, Isa muttered his spell. All four of them turned into ashes before a huge wave crashed into them—
They were dropped in midair only to turn into ash again and dropped at the top of the cliffs. They were in a pile: Christine landed on top of Andrew with Isa on top of Christine. “Get off me!” The glasses man growled. Christine laughed at him. “Don’t be so prissy, Andrew.”
”Don’t be prissy, she says. Sure, I won’t be once we alarm the village.” He muttered back, feeling the weight off of him before he could push himself off. Isa sat on the ground, shaking with his arms curled around himself. Andrew huffed when he noticed his state . . . Pausing for a moment as he watched Christine pat his back and whispering words of comfort.
Then he glared at Moss. “So? What was that for? Not helping me out to breathe?” He asked calmly.

“Fine?” Andrew repeated, anger boiling. “You were about to let me drown and all I get from you is fine?” Christine stood up from her spot to walk over to the bespectacled man, placing a hand on his shoulder.
”Andrew-“
”No, Christine. He was going to let me drown.” Andrew snapped before glaring at the merman. “It’s no wonder the merfolk were avoiding you. You would just let people die for your own benefit-“
”Andrew!” Christine admonished, pinching his cheek.

“ . . . I deserved to get hit by a boat? For wanting all of us to escape faster?” Andrew started to laugh, devoid of mirth as he stared at the merman. “You know . . . I never approved of your connection with Isa. Not when I heard that it was you of all people, the one who let his friends die and abandoned his people. I wonder for how long does Isa have until you abandon him too-“
”Andrew! Shut it!!” Christine looked distressed.
“No, Christine.” Andrew calmly replied.

Moss was stunned. Then something he hadn't felt in a long time snapped and suddenly he was on the beach in Cascatta being yelled at by his friends and feeling the weight of his sins pressing hard on him. And his hands clenched into fists.
"I am not. going to abandon Isa. And I'm going back. After this I'm going back and . . ." that was when Moss realized he wasn't going back for his people. He was going back to be together with Isa and die of old age with him.
He felt his anger dissipate just as he had deflated in front of his friends ten years ago. Andrew was right. He was just doing things for his own benefit.
And suddenly he was ashamed. Ashamed in front of Isa. Undeserving of him. And didn't look at him. What if, when the lovey dovey feelings fade and one day Isa would open his eyes and feel the same way about him? Moss was afraid. And he didn't want to be in front of Andrew. It reminded him too much of Tybalt. He didn't know what to do. He needed to get out of here. And if Andrew knew, does that mean Isa's grandpa knew too and that this was how they actually thought of him?
Suddenly Moss felt like he had nowhere to go.
He leaped over the cliff edge, diving into the high waters and did not emerge.

”MOSS”
Andrew crossed his arms, smug at the confirmation and admission from the merman himself. “See? Isa, you’re better off without him-“ Suddenly his glasses flew off his face and off the cliffs. Pinned to the ground by the very same trembling redhead who is currently glaring with yellow eyes.
”Oof! Ahhh! Christine! Christine! He’s going to turn into a demon-“ Isa punched him, growling.
Christine sighed. “Didn’t you know, Andrew? Moss helped cure Isa.”

After Christine pulled both of their ears to pull them apart, she gave orders. Andrew, bruised with a broken nose, sends off a blue colored light in the sky. While Isa went off to find Moss. Christine reassured him that they can handle herding people while he went out looking, so he ran towards the beaches. Sending messages as he followed where his ring pointed. A faint blue light beam pointing towards the ocean.
“Moss? Are ya okay? Probably not, but it’s okay! I punched Andrew for ya!” Isa muttered, wanting to console. The grey sky thundered. “Love? I’m at the beach that’s close to the town. Wanna meet up with me?”

Isa paused for a moment before smiling, sad but understanding. “Okay, Moss. I’ll wait for ya. Love y-“ His end became suddenly silent.

Andrew huffed after the last villager left to higher grounds, by the nearby hills. They had to be careful, in case the tsunami reaches this part Cascata. It wouldn’t be new, however they had to cautious with this kind of weather. He huffed again, the reminder of a certain sea person lingered as an ache on his bleeding nose. What does Isa see in him, really? It couldn’t be the looks nor his brains. It had to be something else—-Andrew just doesn’t understand Isa’s taste in men.
Moss is too wild and emotional. He takes thing personally too. He’s too much to handle and yet, Isa is happy with him.
Andrew huffed once more. Annoyed. “Gosh, I sound like a jealous ex.” He muttered in disgust.
He hoped the elves will come and help the villagers soon while the sect takes care of the place.

Moss was too morose to think Isa's abrupt silence meant something urgent. He found the sunken ship and the net of baby octopi that they caught. He just grabbed them, sat on the upturned prow of the ship, and just started to sad-eat as he thought about what Andrew said, and his fears of what happened between him and his friends happening between Isa's family and maybe Isa himself one day.
He didn't abandon his people, he was banished . . . not like he could go back the past ten years before today, he thought, as he watched a twin-tailed eel with long gliding skirt-like fins swim by. Not like he would be accepted again if he did go back for them . . . the noble thing to do would be to go back and fix the war he started no matter what his people thought about him, but . . . until now he was still ashamed to show his face there . . . He was going to . . . eventually . . . to ask the Heart of Atlantis for the lifespan of a human . . . but will it really grant his wish after everything he's done? Probably not . . . Yet he still wants to try . . . to be happy with Isa . . . yeah, it was selfish . . . or maybe he was a coward . . .
Moss sighed . . . No matter how much he turned it in his head his sin continued to hang over him, and may continue to hang between him and Isa . . . maybe if he just tried and went there to see if there was anything he could do, maybe that would make him feel just a bit more worthy of him. He hated that Andrew was right, but he's going to have to face his sins if he wanted to stop feeling this way.
Moss looked up at the sky, and was surprised to see it was night time and that he was in a different place in the sea. He must have wandered off, not paying attention, too engrossed in his thoughts. Unbeknownst him he had wandered off to the eastern part of the sea. He turned around, making to head for the shore.
'Isa? I feel . . . well I don't feel better, but I feel like I can talk now. Where are you?'
