Realistic or Modern Our Home Together - Additional IC

Angeli Villanueva

Angeli chuckled when Serena nixed the pizza idea and took over the cooking duty. She wasn't one to complain either way, but she was quite happy not to have pizza. It was good, but a feast of 'real' food for their first day being reunited felt better. She placed a hand on Oakley's shoulder and let it linger. "Another time," she smiled lightly. "Plus, Serena's cooking is better than any pizza I can think of," she added while passing a sweet glance to her friend. "I'm going to stay out of you guys' way, but if you need any help, just let me know and I'll stop what I'm doing." She then turned back to Oakely. "Could you help me bring some stuff in from my car; just a couple of heavy things?" She moved her hand now, using it to point toward the door. "I'll help you with your things in return."

"Mattie"

Mood: Melancholy

Location: Mustang/Store

With: Shadow, Shiloh, Josh

"I missed you guys too..." Mattie said rather quietly. He realized he didn't say it earlier so he felt a little bad about it. He wasn't here to party, he was here to get better. He needed to be surrounded by friends in order to be happy again. But maybe, maybe he should be more honest with his friends if this was going to make progress. He glanced in the rear view mirror, watching Shiloh and Josh, his sunglasses still covering his eyes. As he was driving, rather passively, he noticed it was getting darker out. Rain clouds threatened up above.
Come on, Mattie thought. No need for sunglasses without the sun. In any case, they had arrived to the super market. He found a sweet parking spot toward the front and concentrated rather intensively as he backed in, his back turned to watch where he was steering. He then smiled to Josh just because before he put it into park. "Alright. Our main objective: Booze. Beer. Liquor. Maybe some wine coolers for the female variety. Other than that... I'm thinking your average healthy necessities: Chips, soda, cookies. You know the ones". He had said rather seriously until he looked at each of them, a dumb smile on his face. "Move out!" He ordered like a drill Sargent before quickly getting out of the mustang, pretending he was some soldier on a mission. As he entered the store, he took off his sunglasses and tucked them in the collar of his shirt. Now or never, he thought.

Smiling softly, Shadow glanced at their hands before blushing lightly and nodding a bit. "Thanks," she said softly just as he pulled away and Shy got in. Hearing Josh call shotgun on the way back, she felt a bit disappointed but stayed silent. Staring out the window when they finally left, Shadow remained quiet even as Josh began talking. She leaned back a bit and rolled the window down as she propped her feet out the window until they arrived. Listening carefully, she laughed a bit and got out, quietly heading inside. Watching Mattie finally remove his sunglasses, she glanced over, almost immediately noticing how dark his undereyes were. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she allowed it to linger as she gave him a look that said they needed to talk later but she still didn't say anything. Instead, she turned and headed towards the alcohol isle.

Shiloh hadn't felt this energetic in weeks and the longer he sat in the backseat, the more that energy built. He was about thirty seconds from bouncing up in down in his seat when they reached the store and he shot out of the car after Mattie, grabbing a cart on his way into the store. The inside was almost overwhelming- all bright lights and rows and rows of packaged food, a sight so American it almost brought oddly patriotic tears to his eyes. But there was no time for sentimentality when there was a job to do. Weaving his cart through the aisles to the junk food, he tossed in packs of oreos and bags of chips and pretzels, anything and everything that reminded him of high school. Once his fourteen year old self was satisfied it was time to attend to the needs of his seventeen year old self so it was off to the booze section. Some cheap tall boys, a bottle or two of Mad Dog, some bottom shelf vodka, anything that you could tell was a mistake as you were drinking it. Spotting Shadow at the end of the aisle, he picked up some speed and hopped onto the edge of the cart, coasting over to her with a face-splitting grin. "Are you stoked or are you so stoked? This is gonna be great." He skidded to a stop next to her, browsing the selection of boxed wine.
