A tall man clad in nothing but a towel sauntered down the nearly empty hall, water still dripping softly from his golden tresses. The man was a junior at Blightrest University, and notorious on campus. A bit of an outcast by nature and someone that happened to unnerve most of the student body, except for a few individuals, a key one being the man's longtime childhood friend. With one hand the student held up the towel, holding it very loosely in his fist, and with the other he read off the latest text from Greer, his phone chimed with. "Li, don't forget about our astronomy 101 assignment!! We're suppose to go out to the courtyard and write our observations on the blood moon tonight. it's suppose to start in five minutes!" Aphelion glanced at the time blinking on his phone header and smirked as he realized he had no time to get back to his dorm room and change. This would most certainly be hilarious...for him at least. Still maintaining his grip on the towel he quickly sent a poorly misspelled one handed text back to his friend, "K. no tim 2 chnge. classm8ts mite C dik. anythng 4 th e grade rite??" Having sent off his latest attempt to rile up the other, Li continued to stalk down the halls. The courtyard where the eight students where suppose to gather for their assignment, wasn't far from his dorm hall thankfully. While the Law major didn't care that much about a grade for a class that mattered little to his major or minor, a grade was still a grade and he prided himself on being a horrific person to have in class, both as a peer and as a student, while maintaining perfect grades. It was always so amusing to render people speechless in their attempts to berate him as he was simply better than them. He considered Astronomy 101 as an incredibly useless class and had in fact skipped every single session except the very first, however this was one he couldn't weasel out of. At least tonight gave him a rare opportunity to harass his seldom see classmates. The only one he knew well and got along with was Greer, the rest were faded blimps in his mind. All he knew was their reactions to him were delicious.

He arrived at the wide, expansive courtyard, minutes before the eclipse was suppose to reach it's peak. He spotted several figures scattered across the huge area, some clustered together and other's on benches or standing alone. Gleaming golden eyes aligned on a women standing off to the side near the planted garden, head titled back and hands clutched around a ragged notebook. "Greer my deer," he called out in a sing song, draping his body firmly up against her. His towel nearly came undone upon his abrupt gesture, and he noticed one student nearby blush and look away. He winked at them and then reverted his attention back to his obsession best friend. "I do hope you haven't been waiting long, I just shudder at the thought of leaving my precious bestie all by herself on such a dark and cold night." His eyes seem to sharpen and his grin turned slightly on the edge of unhinged as he spoke. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a white haired individual he faintly remembered from the first day of class, amble in very last minute. He couldn't recall the name, but something sparked in his memory as he made eye contact with the man, both holding each other's gaze. A shiver ran through his body, holding a note of anticipation. His grin grew and he raised a hand to throw out a casual wave, a note of challenge in his body. He couldn't explain but there was just something oh so fascinating about the other, almost like a kindred spirit calling to him. Further examination was cut off as a sharp scream emitted through the air. A black haired girl from the other side of the courtyard was the source of the noise, but it swiftly cut off as the reason for her screams silenced her. A dark oozing portal appeared in front of her, swirling with a purple glow. Similar portals appeared all around, in front of each of the gathered students. The girl, thrown off by the sudden appearance stumbled in, vanishing from site. "How intriguing," he muttered aloud. Wanting to further test the interest development, he came up with a genius idea. A wonderful chance to experiment with both the newfound object and his interesting classmate. As the white haired man approached, Aphelion subtly stuck out a foot, catching on the other man's leg and sending him headfirst into the portal. "Oh no. How awful." His tone however, made it sound like that was quite the opposite of what he thought.

The Blood Moon!

Dante had entered the Astronomy class to study all about it and maybe find some clues about what had happened to Kara. For the most part, nothing big had happened. He knew a couple of his classmates' names— some of which he greeted every now and then when he passed by them on the campus. Aurele was one of the few students among them that he has spoken with to an extent but even then, they didn't really hang out as much outside of school hours. They all hung around their own crowds for the most part. As he entered the courtyard and saw a couple of the others had already been there, he raised a hand and called out a greeting.

"Good evenin' folks!"
He moved up closer to them, looking up to the sky where the moon was hanging overhead— he had time before the arrival of the Blood Moon.
"We're pretty lucky it isn't overcast tonight, huh?"
He commented as he approached Aurele, giving her a smile and taking out his phone to prepare for recording what was happening and writing his observations down for later.
"D'ya think something's gonna happen tonight? I mean, it's the Blood Moon and everything so it's probably gonna be something mighty interesting."
He didn't seem to be all too serious about this question.

Another voice carried over the group minutes later and he took a peek at what was happening. An almost naked man stood there with a towel barely clinging to his male form as he discussed something with another. Aphelion and Greer were their names if memory served correctly, and it usually did. He saw Aurele look away from Aphelion, understandably so, and Dante couldn't help but chuckle. He was about to say something about it when a buzz from his phone caught his attention.

It was a small message from his parents that told him to be careful. The Blood Moon had always been a herald of doom for the people of Blightrest. After all, without fail, students disappeared every three years when it appeared. Dante sent a quick text back to say that he was safe and that his classmate was streaking through the courtyard. His mother responded with a series of question marks and asked if that was even legal. Well, it's always legal if there was no one to catch him. For a moment, Dante wondered if he should snap a photo of Aphelion so he could send proof to his father who was still unbelieving of the current situation.

A scream made him look up from his phone and he barely saw when Aurele fell into a black hole— something that seemed to cut through the very fabric of space.
"Shit, Aurele!"
He called out before making an attempt to reach out to her before she fully disappeared into the portal but he barely brushed his fingers across her clothes before she fell in completely.

His personal portal seemed to have taken offense with the fact that he had his attention elsewhere that it had decided to appear in front of him.
"Whoa, whoa, who—"
and before he could stop himself, his momentum already forced him forward and into the portal unknowing if any other student had been sucked in by it aside from himself and Aurele.

tired then scared
greer murdock
greer was tired. but when was she not? the girl had just finished a lab report and wanted nothing more than the sweet darkness of sleep to take her over. of course it was never that easy. she had enrolled in this astronomy 101 class to get an easy elective credit. for the most part the class was easy, they rarely met in person and most of the work was completed on your own time. greer enjoyed that because she could knock it out in advance and focus on what really mattered. however, tonight was the night one of their bigger projects were due and it required the class observing the blood moon eclipse. this eclipse happened once every 3 years, but greer had never paid it much mind before. the only peculiar thing was that every year a few students went missing around this time, but greer's mind never floated over to that thought.
the blue-haired girl let out a soft sigh, eyes scanning the growing crowd of students. she did not really interact with the students in her class except for one, killian. li never attended so greer found herself next to the outcast of the class. his aura was intimidating, which is likely why the other students avoided him and sat on other sides of the room. greer however, on day 2, sat her happy butt in the seat right next to him, earning her a quizzical glance. she couldn't help it, she was always drawn to the strange ones. they didn't speak that first day, but eventually they would do paired work together and meet up outside of class to knock out assignments. she never mentioned this acquaintanceship to li, seeing as he would've overreacted. also because it wasn't like killian was in her life for anything other than class, but she did enjoy getting to know the reserved male.
speaking of li, her best friend since childhood, he was no where to be seen. her scan noted everyone was present except her idiot. she whipped her phone out of her back jean pocket, eyebrows furrowing together as she quickly typed a message to him. his response was quick, and it took her no time to decipher his message. one thing she had learned from the moment li got a phone, was that he was a shitty texter. "you've got to be kidding me." she mumbled to herself, tucking her phone away. she knew that li was in fact going to show up in attire that was less than appropriate. there was nothing she could do or say to stop him, so she simply accepted her fate.
taking a deep breath she looked up at the sky, clutching her beat up leather-clad notebook. she needed a moment of peace before the storm that was aphelion appeared. she found the sky to be quite beautiful tonight, the chatter of her scattered classmates fading away as she focused solely on what she was looking at. the moment of peace was short lived, as a sing-song voice immediately grabbed her attention. her face betrayed no shock as she watched her best friend saunter over in nothing but a towel. she honestly felt herself smirk a little because of just how ridiculous the situation was. the smirk left as quickly as it came. she grunted as the male draped over her, making a face up at him. she noted his towel almost coming off and wanted to face palm, but kept her hands clutched around her book. if he flashes the entire class he runs the risk of a public indecency charge and she simply did not have time to deal with that.
"you're going to catch a cold, li." she scolded, giving him a light shove. she pulled her shirt, a simple black tee that read HOE'S MAD in white lettering, down. li's actions had caused it to ride up, showcasing her stomach. unlike her friend, she was not the type who wanted to flaunt her body. her gaze found aphelion's face, but his eyes were fixated on someone across the courtyard. her class friend, killian, seemed to be the target. interesting... greer thought. li didn't normally take an interest in many people, but that spark she caught in his eye couldn't be mistaken. before she could pry on the subject, a girl fell through a weird anomaly, her scream causing greer to jump. more of these portal like things appeared all across the courtyard.
"what the fuck?" she cursed, stepping back and instinctively grabbing onto li's arm. her brain turned itself over three times in an attempt to come up with an explanation for what was going on. the fact nothing that wasn't out of sci-fi movies was coming to mind was making her visibly uncomfortable. a wormhole maybe? no that's impossible and the suction would rip trees out of the ground, let alone us just standing here... her brain waved off the thought. she saw killian approaching them and she couldn't get a word out to tell him to stop moving. she didn't know what was going on or what caused it. so in her brain, not moving was a good first step to being able to assess the situation. her eyes widened as she watched li trip the male, causing him to tumble into the portal in front of them. greer squeezed li's arm with all the force she could muster. "aphelion what the hell are you doing?" she yelled, her voice a higher octave than usual. this was a tell-tale sign she was afraid. she reached forward, her feet moving on their own. the reach was futile, as the other male had already been eaten up by this anomaly but greer couldn't help herself. she felt responsible, even though li was the one that tripped him. in her pathetic stumble forward, she watched the portal close up with a zip in front of her. letting go of li's arm and her notebook, she inhaled sharply, both hands going to cover her mouth. her head shot around as she saw her classmates disappearing one by one into these weird portals. she felt her chest clench and it was harder to catch her breath. her blue eyes locked onto where killian just disappeared and she took a few steps back, her palms growing clammy. "Li wha- what is going on?" her voice was soft now, the fear she was feeling coating every word. "i-" her sentence was cut short by her unknowingly walking into a portal that was right behind her. suddenly her vision was clouded in purple swirls. she couldn't even scream before everything went black.

aurele was currently running on one hour of sleep. was this normal? for regular people, probably not, but for her this has been a constant in her life for years already. word had passed around the school that an astronomy class was being held during this semester, and that was all she was thinking about for WEEKS. astronomy was one of her favorite passtimes (though it would definitely never surpass harp playing that's for sure) but it was still something big in her life. once registration was finally made avaliable, aurele was one of the first to sign up for the class to ensure a spot, though she doubts anyone would be tearing themselves apart trying to register for the class anyways, but she just wanted to be sure.

aurele was just itching to do her astrology assignment, and she's been antsy all day because of it. today was the day for them to go out and write observations for the blood moon that was going to be occurring and who wouldn't be excited seeing that? even knowing it was going to happen was exciting enough. she was told to gather in the courtyard to meet her other classmates in order to do the observations, she was just glad she had an aquaintance in the class so she wouldn't be lonely at least. maybe they can share observations with one another! she had started giddly skipping down the hallway of her dorm to get to the courtyard as fast as she could.

arriving at the courtyard she notices she's one of the first to arrive, not knowing what to do with herself as she waits for her other classmates to join her, she pulls out her cellphone and starts fiddling with it. her classmates start filing in one by one, but she didn't really bother looking in their direction too entranced playing her little mobile game. however she did say hi to dante when he approached the group, waving her hand in greeting whilst giving a smile. he had asked whether or not something interesting might happen during the blood moon, she pondered, "i wish, i doubt we're gonna see anything but a red moon tonight."

they continued to chat waiting until it was time for observations to start, though she unfortunately made eyecontact with another male in her class. she didn't remember his name all too well, but was concerned (and slightly embarassed on his behalf) on WHY he was only wearing a towel in the middle of the courtyard. did the school even allow this??? are they just going to let him do that?? where was campus security??? her face flushed, she turned away from the towel wearing maniac, and focused on looking down at the ground.

the group had fallen into quiet conversation. she had been too busy looking down at the ground, when she suddenly felt her body become warm, and it wasn't because of her classmates' streaking shenanigans. it felt as if something was looming in front of her. she felt sick to her stomach when her intuition was proven to be correct, as she looked up and she came face to face with a dark purple swirling mass in front of her. she was frozen, she felt a pull, as if it was reaching out and grabbing her arms and legs, pulling her towards it. she couldn't move her limbs at all, all she could manage was a piercing scream, as she clenched her eyes shut, though she did hear dante yell and attempt to pull her back to the real world, but alas it was all in vain before she was sent tumbling into pitch black.

Lilith was bored—nothing unusual there. Swiping through her phone and laid lazily on the floor, it seemed like just another day on campus. As soon as the class ended, she had plans to bounce to the ass end of the woods or wherever her feet carried her. But for now, it seemed all they did was wait.

But today had other plans in mind. For one certain boy Lilith had only seen on the very first day of class made his return in a... very 'unique' fashion. And as she rolled her head to see the coming student after all the reactions from the others around, a loud sputtering noise bounced across the air. If Lilith were drinking anything, it would've been a puddle on the floor.

"Shit, man!" She cackled, rolling onto her feet and dashing over to the half-naked man, phone very obviously pointed at him. "You here to save the day, King Arthur? Flaunt your mighty Excalibur from its sheath? Looking for a devilish succubus to slay? Hm?"

Before Lilith pressed any more, though, yet another exciting thing happened. She stared in awe as the portals dotted around the courtyard, when just seconds ago there was only silence permeating the air. In the time spent staring in awe, one of her classmates that Lilith kind of knew, Greer, now stood with King Arthur. Giddy, Lilith bounced over the short distance. "Yo! Chamomile! You seeing this shit?! Already the best fucking class I've ever been in!" Breathless, she ran off again, closer to one of the nearby portals.

Lilith whipped out her cellphone and faced its screen towards herself and the portal behind her. She swiped through a few apps, eventually getting to... the camera. She hit record. "You know, you only live once, so eat ass, smoke grass, and haul ass into fucking space portals that appear out of fucking nowhere!" Lilith glanced past the screen to the others still in the courtyard, winking at them. Then, she ran backward. "Yippee Ki Yay motha-fucka!"

Without a hint of hesitation, Lilith threw herself into the portal.

This assignment was the fucking worst. Phoenix found herself in a bit of a rush— well no, she WOULD had found herself in a rush if she gave a shit about this assignment. Or this class. Why was she taking astrology again? Honestly she had no idea, that’s what she gets for listening to her advisor. All she wanted was to get through her degree and get going with her career, it was important after all. Space has nothing to do with kids. Kids don’t go to space, nor are they in space and in need of a social worker. Mr. Prewit was a real idiot. Ontop of her finding no real purpose of this class in her life, the professor could never stop talking. She could just tell that everyone gave just as many shits as she did. Zero. Yet getting a good grade in the class did hold SOME importance.

Thoughts of such things danced in her mind as she strolled lazily through campus. Dim lights illuminated the designated path from overhead, but it wasn’t long before she skirted off toward a small group in the distance. By looking at the girl, you would never guess that she had anywhere to be. It was a nice warm night and the short girls attire reflected that. She had exited her dorm in a loose cropped black tank that hung just below her bare chest, and plaid pajama pants that seemed to barely hang onto her hips. It seemed that her thin frame struggled to hold on to the clothes she had adorned. The girls face was bare, cheeks and nose pink from having been recently washed with thick vivid red hair thrown up into a set of messy pigtails atop her head. Her tongue lazily rolled a red tootsie pop around her mouth which had already begun to redden her lips. The grass tickled her bare feet as she swayed, one foot landing on front of the other with her fingers interlocked behind her back.

As she neared a bit closer, just close enough to notice the tall blonde man was in nothing but a towel (which caused a classic Phoenix smirk to twitch at her lips), her feet failed. Phi completely froze as a loud scream sounded, ringing continuously through her mind like an alarm before dimming into silence as sight became her primary sense. Her heart rate escalated, silently watching as a large, dark, purple-ish oval swirled in front of her. Curious. It was.. terrifying, beautiful— but what the fuck. Temptation came over her as she began to reach out toward it, nearly thrusting her entire hand into the unknown substance. She stopped just short of it, instead removing the tootsie pop from her mouth. Rather than test with herself, which was her usual MO really, she figured it best to try something else. Gently she tossed it through, watching as the ooze enveloped the sucker. Huh. Taking a few side steps to gaze around to the other side of it, she was baffled. No tootsie. Double huh.

Suddenly her ears began to work again in collaboration with her sight, just in time for her to take in the action of her classmates. Everyone around her had begun to interact with their own strange oval. The scream she had heard was silenced as a swirl of dark hair vanished into an ooze that blipped out of sight. “One,” she mumbled quietly, brows furrowing in a mix of confusion and concentration. An attempt to grab the girl was made, only for the boy to stumble and fall into an ooze of his own. “Two.” Panic seemed to be spreading. Was she panicking? Could she move? She wasn’t sure. Her wavering gaze flicked over just in time to catch the near-naked blonde throwing his foot out and knocking the slightly taller man with stark white hair into another disappearing oval. Before she could even speak, the girl just beside the menace was gone as well. “Th-three, and four.” Why was her voice shaking? Now was no time to show fear. She had to be strong, someone had to be strong. There was no way she would let them know she was afraid.

A warm sensation began to trickle around her toes. Alarmed, Phoenix cast her eyes down quickly. Amidst the unfolding chaos, she hadn’t noticed her nails digging into her flesh. Her whole body trembled, a betrayal to her very thoughts, as drops of red blood began staining her pink flesh. Her fingers peeled away from her arm to feveal the broken flesh. Phoenix went to move away, bloodied fingers drawing over her mouth as the shock of it all began to subside. Before she could even process her mistake, she was falling. Her feet had brought her back toward the mysterious ooze, and she had drawn just close enough to be easily enveloped. The darkness that began to surround her did not scare her in this moment, despite its entirely eerie nature. Phoenix had long ago grown tired of fear and now refused to let that be her final feeling. Instead she felt anger. She hated the number five.

Aiden Holmes

mood: bewildered

Clear skies, a cool breeze, and the enthusiastic buzz of activity made tonight a great night for observing the stars and other celestial bodies. Despite all these amazing reasons to look up at the sky and ponder one’s place in the universe, a certain uneasiness lingered in the air amongst the students of Blightrest University. After all, tonight is the night where the infamous Blood Moon makes its ill-fated return. Unless you are a hardcore astronomy fan, the sight of the familiar pure white orb tainted in such a crimson shade tugged at one’s primal instincts and awakened a sense of danger that lurked deep in humanity’s collective unconsciousness. And if you've been a student here for a while, there's a good chance that you've heard of the sinister rumors surrounding the ominous celestial event.

Considering that people have disappeared without fail every time the blood moon occurred, Aiden was bewildered why this astronomy assignment was approved by the school administration in the first place. He had nothing against astronomy class though. In fact, he’s grateful to have it as an elective and get the credits he needed. Despite representing the school in archery competitions and winning multiple championships, he still needed to ensure his grades wouldn’t suffer for it.

“Still, couldn’t they have gone with a different assignment? Something safer like identifying constellations, observing a meteor shower, or a solar or lunar eclipse. But no… they decided that the bloody orb that Thanos-snaps people out of existence is the perfect subject for an astronomy assignment.” He muttered under his breath. “Wait, the moon doesn’t have fingers so it shouldn’t be able to snap… unless it’s some sort of Eldritch abomination that disguises itself as the blood moon and wakes up every 3 years to abduct peopl—” He stopped himself from generating more absurd thoughts before he went too deep into the rabbit hole. Lucius’ wild imagination as a “creepypasta” writer has undoubtedly rubbed too much on him Regardless, he had to admit that the idea made for a good entry. He had to take a mental note to suggest it to him later.

In response, his avian companion, Delphi, made a few defiant cries as if sympathizing with his plight. He could tell that she was also on edge tonight because of Blood Moon.

“Hang in there, girl. I’ll make sure to ask Sebas to prepare some treats for you when we get home.” He said in a soft, soothing voice. Miraculously, the raptor seemed to understand what he said and even raised her head up and down as if nodding in anticipation to his proposal.

The red-haired student shifted his attention away from his partner and looked at the people that have gathered in the courtyard for the assignment. While he couldn’t put a name to the faces of most of the students he saw, there were several that stood out, either because of their unique traits or because he simply shared another class with them.

For instance, there was that brown-haired guy… Daniel.. Dainsleif… Dormammu, Dantalian… fuck… Parkour freak, yeah… the infamous student that climbed a tree, jumped through a window and tackled Professor Boyd all so he wouldn’t be late for a test. The poor old woman was sent to the hospital, and parkour freak straight to the dean’s office.

There’s also Aura… Ariel… Aurora… Jukebox, the legendary musician that could play anything from Fur Elise to Despacito on her harp. The entire music class lined up to hear her cover their favorite songs when somebody realized her talent.

There were others he recognized but his attention was grabbed by the blonde male that waltzed into the courtyard wearing nothing but a towel. He must be that student who hasn't shown up for class since he didn't recognize him at all… although he does remember him sharing a last name with that champion from a certain MOBA. The blonde quickly called the attention of a blue-haired girl who he seemed to be acquaintances with due to how familiar, and nonchalant he was with her. While Aiden should have felt secondhand embarrassment for the girl, he was already desensitized to seeing naked men considering how many his mother brought home when he was a child.

The arrival of the blonde who's almost in his birthday suit must have pissed off God, the universe, or their Eldritch overlords since the most baffling thing happened shortly after. Strange, dark portals swirling with black ooze started appearing left and right, and he witnessed one such portal swallow Jukebox who could do nothing but emit a brief panicked scream before completely disappearing within.

The once serene scene quickly erupted into chaos as more portals pulled more people into whatever dark abyss they led to. Parkour freak attempted to save the black-haired girl only to be caught, himself. Another girl who looked like she belonged to My Chemical Romance’s Black Parade willingly jumped in. Disturbingly the blonde tripped another student into one of the portals. Before his blue-haired acquaintance could protest, she, herself was swallowed by the swirling black ooze. And then a red-haired girl who chucked one of her lollipops into the black ooze to see what would happen, stood motionless, like a deer in headlights as she watched other students get taken. When she decided to escape, it was already too late as a portal had already caught one of her limbs and was starting to pull her. However, whether she remained defiant until the end or accepted her fate, she refused to utter a single scream as the ooze fully engulfed her body.

“Bloody hell… so this is how those students disappeared, huh? We need to get out of here, Delphi.” Aiden said urgently as he avoided a portal that materialized beside him only by the skin of his teeth.

The red-haired boy managed to perform a series of backflips, somersaults, and rolls to evade the swirling masses that seem hellbent on taking him, but as he flipped into the air one more time to dodge a portal, another one manifested mid-air and pulled him into it. He tried to get his companion to flee for safety, but the falcon proceeded to go after him upon seeing her master’s predicament. As the ooze overwhelmed his senses, he desperately attempted to maintain his consciousness. However, the embrace of darkness finally overcame his will, and soon enough, he succumbed to it.

wake up killian

wake up or they’ll get you

you gotta wake up now or they’ll get ya

just like the rest of em

the voice in his head made him snarl, waking up in a cold sweat as he sat up in his little bed. his chest felt as though he had a race horse as his heart, it’s hooves pounding against his rib cage, cracking the bones and ripping the flesh as it raced so fast. it seemed as though this day was already at a shit start and it was only 4 am, but it seemed as though ivory was having more of these type of days then normal. realizing he could not go back to his terrible slumber, ivory figured he would start his day off much earlier then he had hoped for but at least he’d forget about that horrible dream. scurrying around his room, ivory was able to make his bed, make a cup of coffee and half ass organize his depression closet— clothes thrown in rather then hanging, clean mixed with dirty. figuring out what was what, he threw them into a dirty pile before getting absolutely drained at the thought of actually finishing it, he grabbed his bag and made it for the door.

he’d get to the rest of his eventually, at this point ivory wanted to go on an early morning stroll— something comforting at the stillness during the early morning hours, the coldness nipping at his skin in such a way that made him feel good.

as the day went by, the more ivory dreaded leaving his room. it wasn’t as though he didn’t enjoy the fresh air, the sound of little birds and getting his caffeine fix yet again— the thoughts in the back of his mind were very vocal this morning, it made the pit of his stomach tie in knots. “ivory!” the sound of his name snapped him out of his own thoughts, letting out a gnarly sigh as he turned his head to see the
yes?” he said bluntly, his sunken eyes glaring at the smaller male who was named…. honestly, ivory couldn’t remember his name. i’m all honestly he could care less what his name was, though at this moment he’d call him pinkie as he was wearing a god awful pink sweater. “i was wondering if you’d be my lab partner today” pinkie said with delight, a sweet grin plastered upon his dark skin. the flash of pearly white teeth was all he could see, a little piece of silver sat sneakily underneath his lip— a smiley… how fitting. “you can’t ask anyone else.” ivory said plainly, looking at the other with tired eyes, he didn’t understand how the other was so happy today. but then again, most people were happier then ivory. “oh you know you love me, besides who else is gonna be your partner?” the little jab hit him right in the ribs, causing him to bite the inside of his cheek. while he wasn’t wrong, somehow his growing pet named lonesomeness only purred— eating up his feelings to only grow heavier, to lay on his chest as he laid in his dorm room alone. all ivory could do was let out a huff of air before rolling his eyes “yeah sure whatever.” he snarled at pinkie, which only made the other male laugh “i knew you’d see if my way ivory.” pinkie said sweetly before departing, leaving ivory all alone once again.

ivory finally made his way to the courtyard, catching glimpse of those that walked by him. scarred eyes stared right back at those that looked at him, their faces scrunching as discomfort prickled their skin. his outwardly appearance left much for people to imagine, coming up with strange backstories of what his home life was, who his family was and what made him… what he was. it wasn’t as though people tried to figure out the truth, where was the fun in that. some though his face scars were caused by a wild animal, a house fire or he caused them himself. either way, ivory was washed with mystery around his home life and what he escaped from— all they knew was that it took a lot for this quite giant to get pissed off and when he was it was like an inner beast took over him. as ivory made his way through the courtyard, he caught the sight of a few people he knew— geer and phoenix being the first two he saw, their wanda and cosmo hair stuck out more then anything. but before he could say anything to either of them, the sound of a scream pierced the air. ivory turned his head sharp and saw a girl get sucked up into a… portal? gritting his teeth sharply together, he felt a cold sweat form against his skin and a quickness in his chest. what the fuck was going on, seeing as multiple portals began to form and many students starting to get sucked into them— what misery this was going to be. the feelings he felt wasn’t fear, in all honestly he didn’t know what he was feeling in this moment… it wasn’t curiosity… he just knew he wanted to get the hell out of that courtyard.

unfortunately someone with blonde hair and an arrogant face had other plans, sticking his foot out and tripping the white haired boy into a newly appeared portal.

the anger he had was undeniable, it dripped from his skin like a poisonous goo. teeth bared like an angry dog, ready to strip the skin of its perpetrator— ivory would strangle that arrogant blonde if it was the last thing he’d do. eyes dark as obsidian, ivory gritted his teeth as he began to fall into the portal and yet his own anger would not let him fall alone. twisting his body until there was a loud pop within his spine, ivory gripped his hand upon the others forearm tightly before letting his eyes lock upon the others stupid face. without saying a word, ivory’s glare could kill thousands as he dug his fingers into the others forearm— a grip like anaconda strangling it’s prey, little to no escaping him. as he feel into the void, he made sure that aphelion would follow along with him.

he’d be damned if he were to go down alone.

king's throne room

interacts with killian & greer

"dialogue dialogue"

Aphelion's feeling of glee and smugness over the general chaos he had just caused, faded rather abruptly as his long time walked backwards right into the portal resting in wait behind her startled form. Narrowing his eyes, he took a step towards her portal, prepared to yank her out no matter the consequences when the vindictive figure of the man he just pushed in decided Li was going with him. A long and lithely muscled arm wrapped around Aphelion's wrist and with a strong and sudden grip as the force of the portal sucked in Killian, contributed to the momentum of the white haired man's pull. The Law major seeing no way out had a split second to make the most of it and tucked and dived landing on the other side in a crouched position, Killian's hand still grasped tightly around his own. "Wow, I didn't think we were at second base yet. At least buy me a knife first." Despite his mocking words and carefree air to him, his eyes were scanning the large room they had been deposited in. He catalogued 8 men standing in various levels of armor scattered around a large rather ostentatious throne room. At the front of the room a gaudy throne chair sat, decorated in gold and jewels, on it was an older man draped in a long furred cape wearing a crown on-top his head.

Li's mind worked at top speed, trying to get a grasp on the situation. The clear signs of a King and his guard made him consider the fact that either he had hit his head too hard or they were in some kind of fantasy world, possibly transported back in time? His first action was to locate his possession friend. Golden eyes alighted on her slight form crumbled on the floor, clutching a slender hand to her head in pain. "Greer dear, you alright there. I would hate to have to avenge you." The gleam in his eyes implied that he very much wouldn't mind avenging the young woman. Clanking sounds distracted him from his grim thoughts as he observed the men he had originally notice come closer to their scattered group. His fellow classmates laid in various positions around him, equally confused. He disregarded them as they currently mattered little to him. The only two that currently were on his mind were greer and Killain. Greer for obvious reasons, and Killian because the man was still touching him. He was beginning to feel rather flattered at this point. Wrapping an arm around the lanky male, he pulled him up with him, leaning heavily agasint him. He tapped his fingers agaisnt the man's wrist, now hidden from view of the rest. tap. tap. tap. A warning and a message, stay alert. One of the guards nearing the group suddenly yelled loudly and directed a pointed finger at Aphelion. "This man has no pants! How disrespectful to the king. How dare he! Seize him where he stands." Aphelion looked down and noticed that his towel had not come with him to the portal. Wonderful. The man straightened, pushing his shoulders back not ashamed in the least. "It's okay if I'm making you feel like less than a man, not everyone can have my width ya know. No reason to get all hot and bothered over it. Now let's put away our toys before we come to a disagreement."

Before the situation could escalate the king stood up, raising his arms. "ENOUGH!! These are our treasured guests, let us be on our best behavior." He gestured to the group of bewildered college students and bowed his head. "Greetings Noble Heroes. My name is King Alderman and you are currently residing in the world of Faerradin. Our great goddess has selected you young men and women to save our treasure home. We need your help." Having said his opening piece, he gracefully collapsed back into his chair looking tired and world weary. "My people are suffering you see, under the constant barrage from the evil and horrible demonkin. We ordinary folk are like mere cannon fodder to these creatures from hell. Only the heroes gifted great powers by the Goddess Faera may save us. Those heroes are you." The surrounding guards let out a loud cheer, although they seemed to not be able to meet the groups eyes. This was most likely due to the fact that Aphelion's dick was jutting out for all to see. The king coughed awkwardly and waved a hand at a nearby servant. "Please fetch that young man some trousers."

Aphelion rolled his eyes, ignoring most of what the old man said. However, one particular word caught his eye. "Power you said," he questioned with a small smirk. "How intriguing, do go on." The King stared him down, a frown beginning to pull at the corner of his lips. Li seemed to cause that expression on many a new victim. "Ah yes, you see our world is quite different form yours. Here we have "statuses" and the abilities and powers that come with it. Simply call out "view status" and a panel will appear before you. It is hidden from our gaze but please do tell us what Class and stats you have been blessed with. It will help us decide, I mean help you, deicide how you shall be trained." Aphelion brows drew up, skeptical. This sounded like a fucking anime, but whatever, he'll give it a shot. Following instructions he called out the phrase and watched as a large shimmering screen appeared before him. Testing something he turned to Killian. "Whitey, you see anything??" Kneen eyes scanned the text taking note of the large words declaring he was a....Paladin?? whatever that meant. Several bars underneath showed what seemed to be his psychical stats. Health, attack, mp, defense, and stamina. Defense seemed to be his highest stat which was intriguing considering he was naked. No sooner had he thought that before a blinking exclamation point showed up on his screen with a little note saying "listen! listen! listen! call out equipment!" Curiouser and curiouser. He did so and saw another screen open up next to the first. Little boxes littered the large page, a few occupied. He clicked what looked like a gold armor set and a second later heavy metal wrapped around his bare flesh. "Ah, how cozy." The next box held what looked like some kind of weapon, to his limited fantasy knowledge, he assumed it was a mace or something similar? Either way he could definitely bash someone's head in and that's what really mattered.

"It seems that I am what they call, a Paladin, whatever the fuck that means. Greer, what does you little screen say?" He grabbed Killain's hand again, having decided to claim him for now and tugged the unwilling body over to Greer's side. He didn't particularly want her to announce her stats out loud, or at least before she tells him. He should always know everything about her first, it was simply right. He perched his sharp chin on her bony shoulder staring at the empty space where the status should appear. He nudged the other man's side, expecting him to do the same as Greer. Good treasures followed orders after all.

The darkness lasted for only a moment before he found himself inside a large and spacious room with... what looked to be knights and a king in front of them. It took a few moments of him rubbing his eyes and then pinching himself, letting out a small hiss, to convince himself that he wasn't actually in a dream. It was either that or he was in a coma which meant that he couldn't just easily wake himself up. Or, a much more fun alternative was that he, and the others, were teleported into some fantasy world like those cool games he sometimes played. Either way, they were not in Blightrest and who knows how that happened. Portals? They must seem like crazy people.

But wait. More important thing. As expected, Aurele was almost right next to him. With a wide grin, he said.
"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto."
With a short and silent chuckle to himself, he patted her on the shoulder.
""Did you have a good landing?"

He was startled out of his attention when one of the guards suddenly boomed out with an accusation towards their naked companion Aphelion. Not helping his case, Aphelion merely snapped back. Thinking that a fight was going to break up, Dante excitedly looked between all of them but the king put a stop to it way too quickly. He looked visibly disappointed before looking back at the king once he started speaking. Esteemed guests? Man, do they have noble blood in them or something? He then continued to explain that they were heroes that was blessed by their goddess to help them with defeating some demonkin. He leaned towards Aurele.
"Dude, I swear this seems like some cool game plot. Get summoned and beat up some demons? Sounds like a deal."

And soon, the king continued. Telling them about statuses. Like Aphelion, Dante called out the phrase and the status message appeared in front of him. Fighter. High HP. Painfully low MP. You know what? This seemed like a pretty cool deal. It looked like he needed MP for some of his skills but this should be fine. He could probably carry through with pure determination. He was no min-maxer in games so this looked good to me.

"This is a whole game. This makes it so much easier to understand."
He muttered loud enough for a couple of people around him to hear as he opened up the inventory. He spotted the armor stored inside and the weaponry. He pressed the equipment and in a flash of light, he was given a chain shirt and some boiled leather armor. Two swords appeared sheathed on both sides of his waist. He looked at the claymore that was still unequipped, finding some hilarity with the fact that he could have three swords.

He raised a gloved hand after Aphelion had stated his own class.
"I got Fighter over here. Some pretty cool skills too."
Curiously, Dante unsheathed the sword. Huh, it was almost as light as the props he used in his theater days once upon a time. Were these actually real? He took a few steps away from the group to make sure that they wouldn't be too close as he began to twirl the sword around him to get used to the sword. He had never done swordfighting in a serious setting before but there was no time like the present to learn right?
"So, your highness,"
He said, a lot more casually than he probably should nad he was still twirling his sword.
"We get some training and we go to the front lines or something? Does leveling up happen here?"

Dante looked over to the others, a big grin on his face.
"It'll be super fun to adventure with you guys! Saving the world and stuff!"

in shock
greer murdock
darkness clouded her vision and enveloped her. greer felt as if she were falling. squeezing her eyes shut she relaxed her body. so this is it? i've died. i'm dead. i'm dead and it happened in my school's courtyard. i never even made it to med school... her thoughts swirled around her head as she accepted her fate. what else could she do but succumb to the swirling purple blackness that surrounded her? at least my death was an anomaly that will be studied for decades to come. she tried to reassure herself. the nothingness she had previously felt was now accompanied by wind, and then impact.

greer groaned, her back having hit the ground so hard it knocked the breath out of her. wait, the ground? her eyes shot open then quickly closed. it was way too bright. she squinted, letting her eyes slowly adjust before opening them completely. above her loomed an extravagant ceiling and large marble columns. what the hell... her mind buzzed from the impact as she slowly rose to a sitting position. she winced at the movement and held her head. god i'm sore. she complained internally. she blinked a few more times as her eyes scanned what was in her immediate sight. before here was a gaudy throne room. there were men in knights armor and an old geezer sitting cockily on an ugly throne. the floors were marble and there was gold and red velvet everywhere. it was straight out of those fantasy games she sometimes saw ads for online. "i must be dreaming..." she whispered, making uncomfortable eye contact with a knight that had moved to stand closer to her.

suddenly aphelion's voice pulled her out of the trance like state of disbelief she was in. she hadn't even noticed her other classmates were scattered around. her blue eyes whipped towards her blonde friend, noticing killian stood clutching his arm with a look that could kill. "alright? yeah..." her voice came out jumbled, like she had just learned how to speak. she still felt achey and her brain hadn't caught onto the fact this was no dream. this was her new reality. the blue haired pre-med student rose slowly, stretching her limbs to try and relieve the tension in them. a few joints popped, causing a sigh of relief to fall from her lips. her brain was waking up and it did not like what it was seeing. greer jolted when another guard started yelling and pointing at aphelion. "oh my god." was all she managed to say. of course li would have let his towel fall. in the presence of some entity from the past maybe? greer still didn't understand how they were there. in their time there were absolutely zero palaces that looked like this, let alone one's that had kings and knights in them. the portals must have been rips in the space time continuum and they time traveled. that was the only remotely logical explanation she could come up with other than she was dead and this was some cruel afterlife joke.

greer stood rigid, listening intently to this so-called "kings" words. heroes? king? goddess? demons? greers mind reeled and she brought a pale hand up to her forehead. she thought she might pass out. this was ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. she looked around, most other students staring at the king. one seemed to be a bit too excited about the whole thing. she gulped and shot li a dirty look as he entertained this man's delusions. our world? there is only one world. i mean there are other planets but they don't sustain life...this is absurd. greer refused to believe a word. her brain was not wired for this roleplaying fantasy stuff. someone wake me up I have to have just slipped and hit my head on the concrete. any second i'll come to and be in that god forsaken courtyard in blightrest. her eyes pleaded with the marble ceiling.

before her pleads were answered aphelion was by her side, killian too. greer had zoned out and didn't even realize they approached. "my screen?" she asked, taking a deep breath. she didn't want to believe a screen would pop up for only her to see if she said the magic words, but after seeing aphelion's now gold clad body she had lost all sense of reality. "fine. i give in. i'll play along." she spoke in an annoyed tone to no one in particular. her brain obviously wasn't going to let her wake up from this nightmare unless she played along, so that's what she would do. "View status." she rolled her eyes, only to swallow hard when a decently sized screen appeared in front of her. her pupils dilated as she took in the information. her attack and defense were nonexistent. fabulous. her health and stamina were above average but her magic power was off the charts. she scoffed, shaking her head. what was the irony of her, someone who doesn't believe in anything other than science, having the highest magic power? it was a cruel, cruel joke. she felt li's chin rest on her shoulder. she chewed on the inside of her lip.

"mine says i'm a..." she paused, eyes filtering over the information. above her stat bars the word CLERIC was bolded. "cleric." she announced quietly, where only the two men next to her could hear. her eyes shifted uncomfortably to the guard that was still close by. he was staring intently at the trio. "cleric? like a priest of the church? i'm not religious." greer pointed out, crossing her arms. she became immediately aware she was wearing a shirt that said hoe's mad on the front of it. that was probably not the best thing to be wearing right now. the exclamation point caught her eye and she clicked it, bringing her to a tab titled EQUIPMENT. she selected the first one, gasping as she felt the weight of her clothes change. she looked down, wearing a dark grey metal corset with matching forearm and knee guards. her shorts were absurdly short and also black, with black mesh tights underneath. there was a space cut open, with her lower abdomen on full display. her black boots came to her mid-calf with some design on them. she also had a gold emblem at the top of her corset. to top off the ridiculous and impractical outfit, she had a black cloak type thing on. instantly she flushed and moved her arms down to cover her stomach. no other outfit offered more coverage. "this is ridiculous." she frowned. she hated showing off skin or any part of her body for that matter. now her stomach, legs, and chest were essentially on full display and it made her extremely uncomfortable. she shrunk into li, hoping his presence would mask hers.

still kind of feeling like she was going to pass out, she eyed killian. "are you alright? i know this idiot," she elbowed li though it didn't do much since he was in fact wearing a chest plate, "tripped you." her eyes showed some concern though her face remained with a look of discomfort. she was hoping by talking to killian she wouldn't have to acknowledge anything else that was going on.

» aurele celeste
『 TAGGED 』@everyone

All Aurele could feel was pain on her bottom, that was the first thought that came to her mind once she came from the darkness. Aurele could see the bright light through her eyelids, knowing that fact she wanted to keep her eyes closed, maybe continue sleeping. Despite those thoughts, she quickly opened her eyes realizing her last memories were of being sucked into some random portal, the environment around her was blurry. Though the bright lights didn't help her vision in the slightest as they blinded her instantly. She softly curses herself for even opening her eyes that fast, now she was stuck with a stinging bottom and a pounding headache! Regaining stability for herself, she realized she wasn't in her dorm room, had she passed out during the assignment? Is this a dream? The whole portal thing was a dream after all, correct?

The room she was in looked extravagant, men all lined up in rows with armor that looked like it weighed more than herself, and what she assumed was the king seated in a chair, which Aurele thought looked quite uncomfortable to sit on. She finally notices a few of her classmates who were all scattered around the large room, all beginning to stand up and talk quietly amongst themselves. Aurele swore she thought her eyes were going to pop right out of their sockets when her eyes landed on one of her classmates who was stark naked for the entire room to see. Aurele quickly averted her eyes wondering if this is what her dreams had come to, 'how inappropriate of you, Aurele!', she scolded herself. She heard a familiar voice from beside her, she quickly turned towards the source of the voice, finding out it was Dante, she grumbled at his question, rubbing her stinging bottom unconsciously, "One of the best landings I've had in a while. Thank you for asking."

Before the conversation could continue, one of the guards posted up front by the king instantly started an argument with her classmate that was wearing nothing but his birthday suit. Come to think of it wasn't this man the one wearing only a towel during the blood moon? What the hell had happened to his towel? Aurele shook her head, facepalming, knowing where that man's towel was the least of her worries! The king had started talking, his loud authoritative voice projecting around the large room. He had started rattling on about noble heroes and some sort of goddess. After explaining some, the king had gotten sidetracked asking for a pair of pants for her nude peer. Ignoring their conversation, Aurele was stuck thinking. She was smart, but she couldn't quite wrap her head around this situation. She thinks to herself, she's certain she's still dreaming... right? She poked herself, she did it again, and again. She silently begged anyone for help, so she'll be able to wake up from this dream, in her dorm room safe, but apparently, god had other plans for her. God damn it, how was she supposed to complete her degree if she was in a whole other world?!

Dante seemed to be having the time of his life talking about beating up demons, but right next to him Aurele was silently steaming (and anxious), wondering if the college would continue to charge her for classes... or what if they kick her out because she didn't go to her classes?! She gave Dante a crooked half-hearted smile at his enthusiasm about beating up these so-called "demons" the king was talking about, after realizing she never did reply back to his enthusiastic remark. Her classmates looked confused but Aurele's concerns were probably the least of their worries. However hearing a mention of powers peeked her interest. Would that mean having superpowers? The king continued to explain, talking about statuses, abilities, and some sort of panel. When she was a kid, she remembered one of her classes was taken in a public school, at the time Aurele was surprised her mother even allowed her to go. But Aurele had learned a lot from her classmates. They had constantly mentioned MMO games and animes to her, though she wasn't able to watch or play them, hearing about them almost every day in school was one of the only good memory she had during her schooling. This exact situation had reminded Aurele of them.

Aurele was suddenly interested, she did enjoy the sound of being able to sort of "play a game", however maybe if she did what the king told her to do, she'd be able to go back home faster. That was her priority. "View status." The panel that was mentioned by the king appeared in her vision. Aurele scanned the entire screen, bold-faced letters stating her class as BARD in all capital letters, was what got her attention first. "I'm a Bard? Have to figure out what that is though.", Aurele stated without taking her eyes off the screen in front of her, focusing on absorbing the information in front of her. She should write all of this down, huh? Once she figures out where her notebook had flown to, or if it was literally stuck in the abyss that is the portal.

She winced noticing all of her stats were low, other than MP, 'That was mana points, right?', she thought trying to recall the information from her old classmates from previous years. Aurele frowned, would that mean she was practically useless? Barely any defense, or health, or anything at all, just the stupid mana points. Well with these crappy stats, her plan to get out of this world might have to be put to a halt. Aurele sighed, noticing another button for her to press, specifically stating that this tab was for equipment. She presses it without hesitation, and a familiar instrument appeared before her, and it was placed gently in her grasp. Aurele was practically drooling, looking at the item. It was a harp, and though it was smaller than what she was used to, she supposes it was for easier mobility. The harp looked so well crafted, and the design was so intricate, the strings even shone slightly as they caught the light, better than any of the harps she played back in her world. At this point, Aurele wasn't complaining too much about the situation she was in especially now that she had her favorite item in the whole world in her hands, though she did have a lot of questions regarding what to do from here on out. Aurele chuckled to herself hearing Dante still raving about having a fun adventure with all of them. 'We'll just have to see if it even ends up fun.', Aurele thought to herself, as she gently runs her finger on the smooth surface of the harp.

"Fuck, I'm high..." That was the first sign of life from Lilith as she awakened from her face-down position. What a change of scenery this was. From the nightly school courtyard, to whatever medieval fair decked everywhere she looked. She clambered off her position, managing a cross-legged seat as the conversations began. Often, her gaze not-so conspicuously lingered towards Aphelion's mighty sword.

Alderman. Faera. Demonkin. Blessings. There came a glimmer of recognition in Lilith's eyes, and she felt more than obligated to share her thoughts,
"This is like one of those, uh, Japaner shows!" The proper word just escaped her. "But seriously, blessed? Damn, dude! This means I can make those church grannies shut up next time they sneer at the way I dress!" Finally, she stood straight up, cracking her back with a stretch. A sudden abduction from home to embark on a quest to save a world they knew nothing about... now that sounded badass!

Enthusiastically, Lilith followed everyone in suit and shouted,
"View status!" As with the others, a panel opened before the girl, listing all kinds of information about herself. "Druid! Hell yeah, I'm a druggie!" This Fae Goddess knew her so well! As for how Lilith's perception of a druid would help in a quest to save the world... her mind did not consider. She glossed over her stats, though, pausing at the last one for only a moment. "The fuck is MP? Mama's Pussy? Hah!" For only a moment. Then she got over it.

One of her peers then drew her attention by the name of Dante. He asked the Alderaan dude for more details, then wished for fun times ahead with the rest of this motley crew. Needless to say, he exuded good vibes, and that was enough for her.
"My man!" Lilith threw her arm around his shoulder. "I haven't felt this excited since... I dunno!" She cackled gleefully.

Finally, she looked up at the king, giving him a thumbs up backed with a solid grin.
"Don't worry, Alderaan, your asses are in good hands!"

Phoenix

confused as hell

magic land

Shit shit shit. Her thoughts were clouded with the faux anger that had filled her chest before the fall. A ringing humming in her ears as she lie on her back. Something must’ve happened, did she..? She slid her hand up to her head as she came to the unfortunate conclusions that yes, she had indeed knocked her head against whatever cold hard surface she was now on. And yes, it hurt like hell. Understandably disoriented and in shock, a sharp gasp of air to rushed into her lungs. Phoenix tried to ground herself back in reality, touching the cold surface beneath her. This had just been grass before but now? It had to be some sort of tile, or rock, or linoleum? Actually, marble. Before her vision unclouded and her lungs were given a chance to fully fill with air, she was up. Her hands clasped her knees to dull the quivering as she tried to properly right herself against the will of her buzzing mind. It felt as if the world was spinning around her.. or if it had been spinning just moments before.

As the buzzing and spinning came to a stop, Phoenix started to fully realize the gravity of what had just happened. The buzzing noise began to clarify into words. Familiar and unfamiliar voices alike surrounded her. There was confusion, defiance, and curiously of all statements of fantasy, goddesses, and heroes. Phoenix slowly stood upright, folding her arms over her chest as if to brace herself, she couldn’t help but snicker slightly at the utter insanity that she found herself listening to. None of this made any sense. Not only was she in a room decked out to the nines in any shiny thing these people could seem to get their hands on, surrounded by men and women cloaked in metal armor and gold lined trousers, but she was being told to believe that she and her classmates were heroes. That they stood before a king and his court due to the will of a prophecy and goddess of whom none of them had any idea.

“This doesn’t make any sense.” A soft mutter escaped her lips right before a man (whom she must have stumbled too close to) shoved her closer to her group. Her head spun round to give him the nastiest glare she could muster, snapping her teeth at him like a feral dog. His eyes widened as he shrunk back slightly, furrowing his brows and whispering to those around him. Ha. After successfully making the man step up off of her, Phoenix huffed with a smirk and turned back toward the group. Something the king had said had grabbed each and every one of her classmates attention. Even Aphelion, the naked prick who tested out the portal with ehhh… Killian? Yeah him. Even Aphelion seemed interested in what the man had had to say. Turns out this interest was justified. As she watched her classmates come to grips with what the king had said, she too came to a realization of her own. One by one each said a two word phrase. Different things happened for each, but something unexplainable occurred every time. Science had to be fake… goddamnit.

Phoenixs gaze, previously having flicked between each of her classmates as they were clad in armor, showing some tits— skin, or gaining weapons, slowly migrated to the king. Short and thin, Phoenix was never seen as intimidating. But in the moment her body was rigid and her stance firm, and by the glint in her eye you could tell she meant trouble. A few short steps forward brought her within a few feet of Dante and Greer, one to the left and another nearish her right. Her gaze darted between them for a moment, taking in what they had gained. How did this happen? What had they said? Why the HELL were all of them just going along with this? But most importantly, it did happen. And wait, better yet: she was kind of excited.

Laughter. Laughter erupted from Phoenix as she pointed to the king. “I don’t know… what kind of game this is,” she paused briefly to catch her breath, “but okay I’ll play!” God she could just feel her sanity slipping away. This whole situation felt insane, impossible. But when she thought on it further— yeah whatever. WHATEVER. Might as well get in on the fun now, clearly it wasn’t going away just yet. “View—“ a comment about MP interrupted her, causing her to stop and glance toward Lilith, grin twitching slightly. Seriously? And she thought the “saving the world from demons” bit was the weird part about this whole thing. “—status?” Just as the word escaped her lips a semi-translucent screen illuminated in front of her. MP was on there, okay yeah, and it’s bar was nearly full. Interesting. That and attack both seemed to be rather full while the rest were a bit empty. As her eyes scanned her status, Phoenix felt an ounce of regret: why had she never played video games? After absorbing as much information as she could, Phoenix finally landed at the equipment section.

“Hmm. Well I’m a mage, that’s a wizard right? Right.” As she spoke, Phoenixs finger (which had been hovering over the equipment section) drifted toward the button. As soon as it made contact, everything went red. Flames burst up around her. She could feel the fire lick up her skin. Her clothes singed around her, falling down to reveal a strange, new, honestly quite revealing outfit beneath. Her hair, already far too long seemed a good bit longer and her pigtails more refined. Still engulfed in flames, Phoenix felt a strange heat spark within her. It felt… fun.

Finally the flames died down and Phoenix was left looking quite different than she had moment ago. Her face though was lit up in a grin as she rolled a shiny metal ball between her hands. Something about all of this was different. Was it all real? She wasn’t sure, but it didn’t matter. All of a sudden she felt more alive than ever before. The grin spread across her face grew mischievous as the ball stilled in her now char colored fingertips. “I think you’re right Dante,” she giggled at her classmate, shifting her glance toward him, “Whatever’s going on, I get the feeling I am going to have fun.”

Drip. Drop. A few droplets of her blood continued to leak from her arm, though the wound now completely forgotten...

and it all burned down

Aiden Holmes

location: Faerradin - King's Throne Room

tags: everyone

mood: Confused > Enraged

For a long time, there was darkness. Darkness so pitch black and impermeable that Aiden entertained the idea that he was dead. If he were, that raised a lot of questions in the inquisitive redhead's mind. Was this how death felt like? If he was truly dead, then is this all that's waiting for a soul when the reaper comes for them? Blinding dark, deafening silence, numbing intangibility, maddening isolation as one plunges deeper and deeper into a bottomless abyss. If that were the case, then he could do nothing but chuckle at the foolishness of humanity, particularly the fools who waged wars to prove their version of the afterlife was superior, only to be greeted by infinite nothingness in the end.

Eventually, he had to discard his dreary thoughts of the hereafter when he saw both literally and proverbially the light at the end of the tunnel. That relief turned into panic when he realized he was still falling. With how long he was plummeting, he'd more than likely turn into a visceral and bloody pancake after he comes out of the portal.

Thankfully, he knew what to do to survive the fall. Curling his body as much as he could into a ball, he rolled as soon as he touched the marble floors and dissipated the deadly kinetic energy that would have otherwise killed him. The first thing he noticed was that several of his classmates were here, and all of them were the ones he saw get spirited away by the portals. Secondly, it seemed that he was among the last to arrive, seeing as most of them had already gotten their bearings.

"I have been falling… for 30 minutes!" He wasn’t really sure if everyone else who got sucked into those portals had the same experience or it was just his bad luck that he was stuck in there for so long… probably the latter.

As soon as his eyes fully adjusted to the room, he noticed the extreme disparity in setting. Armored knights, fancy decor, intricate architectural motifs, and of course the person seated at the gaudy yet uncomfortable-looking throne in front of him… He did notice a third thing but he refused to acknowledge that he was contemplating his views on life after death one moment only to be "treated" to a different kind of view… the view of his classmate proudly donning his birthday suit the next. While the school principal tolerated Aphelion's antics, he wasn't sure that this king would be as lenient.

As if on cue, one of the knights took offense at Aphelion’s choice of clothing… or the apparent lack of it. However, the kingly figure berated the knight and cleared the air in the room. The mere fact that he called them guests already revealed a couple of things for Aiden. First and foremost, they weren’t hostile towards him and his classmates… at least not outwardly… and these strangers in a strange land were responsible for them being spirited away in this world.

The king introduced himself, referred to them as “heroes, explained they needed their help, and revealed that they had… powers? While Aiden was skeptical at first, he decided to curb his disbelief when his classmates literally summoned weapons out of thin air and changed into new outfits and armor, minus the classic transformation sequence. Rather than question whether this is real or some insanely detailed lucid dream, he readily accepted it as the new reality. He really did get bloody “isekai’d”

After taking a deep breath, he tried out the prompt himself,
“View Status” which indeed materialized some sort of holographic screen which displayed his “Stats”. It would seem that his stats were practically balanced across the board, with the exception of below-average defense, and very high stamina as if someone was telling him not to get hit.

Next, he checked out his equipment and donned the armor and bow in his inventory. Aiden was astonished at how similar the armor was to a character in a gacha game his half-brother regularly played, and the bow was in pristine condition. One touch and he could tell the thing was made from durable material, as if he could use it to whack people in addition to its intended purpose. The string was also fine to the touch yet he could tell he’d have an easier time launching arrows with it compared to his typical gear.
“Apparently, I’m a ranger.” If there was one thing fortunate about all this craziness is that he got a “class” that mirrored what he excelled at back home.

Impressive as everything was, he was still skeptical of the whole situation. In fact, the king seemed too eager to know what their class was. While Aiden wanted to withhold that information, he ultimately decided against it since he didn't want to draw the king's suspicion and he didn't want to test his luck by lying about it outright. Unfortunately, it would seem a majority of his classmates didn’t share his sentiments as most of them were mesmerized either by the setting they found themselves in or the new powers and equipment they now possessed. However, he refrained from questioning the king and revealing his suspicions until he could ensure that the old geezer wouldn’t stab them in the back.

With all that in mind, his focus shifted to determining where his precious companion had gone of to. He was worried that Delphi would have gotten lost or captured as soon as she had arrived in this world, but his worries were unfounded when he heard the familiar cry of his falcon. Aiden flashed a relieved smile towards the bird that was happily circling the room’s expansive ceiling when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye that made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.

Seemingly offended by his partner’s presence in the throne room, a knight was already taking aim at the falcon with his bow. Out of sheer desperation, Aiden, instinctively drew an arrow from his quiver and fired two arrows simultaneously as soon as the knight let go of his. Miraculously, his first shot managed to deflect the other arrow, while his second knocked the bow right out of the knight’s grasp.

“I would appreciate it if you and everybody else in this room refrain from shooting my companion.” Aiden said coldly as he aimed another arrow right between the eyes of the knight. In that moment, his inhibitions and cautious nature disappeared. He didn't care if he was up against a knight, a monster, a king, or a demon lord. If anybody hurt his precious partner, he would make them regret ever being born.

He felt Delphi perch on his shoulder and anticipated one of her defiant cries but instead…

“Indeed, you tell him, lad. Such uncouth behavior shouldn’t go unpunished…May I claw his eyes out? Oh please tell me I can claw his eyes out!"… instead of a falcon’s cry, he heard the voice of a pissed-off noblewoman coming from Delphi. The furious glint in her eyes meant that even if he somehow imagined the voice he heard, her intentions were all too clear.

“What the fuck?”
