Fantasy Ostyae: The Six Kingdoms Of Sin

As Jack continued towards the Green Kingdom's capital, he noticed a party of humans heading in the same direction. Wondering why people would be traveling that slowly "wonder what they're doing, it doesn't seem like a war party, I'll follow them for a bit, see where that takes me" Jack thought as he crept closer and closer until he was close enough so that he could keep a good eye on them

Baldassar Haagen

It was well within an hour before the gates opened. Slowly the massive doors of hardened wood opened, the grounds around it shaking. An excellent defensive parameter, any attacker more likely to climb the tall walls rather than breaking trough. Luckily for Baldassar neither was required. He told his entourage to pack up the sunscreen they planted, a large cloth roof in the style of a tent for vampiric travels, and get ready to move in. A group of three elves left from the gate, walking towards the little band of vampires. Baldassar went forwards to meet them, bowing his head when they were within talking distance. ''I am Baldassar Haagen, I've been chosen by the Oldest Ones to represent them and the nation they linger within.'' He exclaimed to them trying to sound proud yet humble. He strained himself to make sure he spoke loud, his usual slick and relaxed voice able to carry the words as if he was royalty himself.

Him speaking slightly louder did also benefit the ears inside and on the walls. Baldassar wanted his appearance to be known by the royalty as well as the common-folk. From the unrest inside of the walls he would get his will.

''Welcome!'' The elven man -standing across him- proclaimed. His voice was smooth as silk, as if he was singing a song for every pronunciation he made. ''If you'd sign your arrival in this very book we'd be glad to escort you to the keep.'' He was clad in fine light cloth, floating from his body as he moved. He was quite tall, slightly taller than Baldassar, though he looked more thin. Pointy even. This pointy look with his thin body made it look as if he was created by the shape of treetops. Though his appearance was admirable in it's own way, his body language and behavior seemed more appropriate in a book. Maybe as a play for children even. Flamboyant and loud. The way rodents match the significance of predators. Baldassar bowed his head, writing down his name in the book with a beautiful a signature he could. Judging from the empty page he would be the first one arriving. It suited him well enough, hopefully he would have some time to walk around the capitol. It's the first time he's been within Sanctum City though he's got quite a vivid picture of the town from his books. The elf took back the book, looking at the signed parchment. ''Ahh yes, wonderful! Just splendid! And your companions, which of them is of worth mentioning?'' Baldassar made a swift grimace, hardly knowing the vampires he traveled with. The three scribes haven't said a word. The three blood vessels are well... Blood vessels. They don't have a name, only a trait. As to the eight royal guards, they were of a younger generation -and age- than Baldassar. They seemed content with keeping to themselves, more interested in the tales of elvish women rather than their duty. ''I bring with me three scribes, three servants and eight guards. None have names to be noted.'' He grew a faint smile as the elf wrote down the specifics in the book. Now that 'Baldassar' will be the only recorded vampiric name to attend this conference he can already imagine stories being written of him. ''Mhmm, lovely! Now, if you and your entourage would please follow me. We shall escort you to the keep with our very lives as guarantee for your safety.'' He bowed, his head sinking far as he used a hand to give his green cape some flair. ''You may keep your weapons, but if draw them the garrison will consider you hostile and treat you the way they treat criminals.'' He looked to the pack of vampires for a short second before clapping his hands in a pleased manner, doing a spin. He stopped the spin as he faced the gate, -cape still spinning elegantly- before he walked trough the gates.

Entering Sanctum City was quite surreal to
Baldassar, finding the tales he read in the old books to do the city no justice. Trees taller than the walls twisting and spiring around each other, buildings forming from these. Be it platforms build around the trunks of these massive natural wonders or walls set up between the trees, each construction seemed part building part spectacle worth watching. The city felt so very alive, elves watching from all around. Some was down on the streets the small group of vampires walked on, others on big walkways at the very top of the high trees. In this place it was easy to forget who you were and what you were doing, the adventures side of Baldassar nearly taking over. Almost making him forget about the group he arrived with, the chest holding two golden skulls on his back, the very image he had to give every person he meets. Almost. He hid away the excitement with a cold stare, looking only ahead on the road they were following. He did send a last admiration towards the mass of elves that showed up to watch. It was hard to find someone poor, someone malnourished. Considering it being the capitol there were no lesser elves, no rats to corrupt the populace. Only proud stags, so very ripe for a feast.

Baldassar flashed a wicked grin, curious as to the people he will be meeting the next couple of days. 'I wonder if she will be here... It's been too long, my ava.' His thoughts of a different time were ended abruptly as they entered a large hall. He couldn't tell how long his mind was occupied, yet he didn't recall approaching the keep. ''And here we are! If you'd please wait here I will notify the Queen of your arrival.'' He made another low bow while walking backwards, disappearing into a side hall. Baldassar gave the man a returning nod, happy to be rid of the elf. 'Well then.' He thought to himself. 'Time to make the Oldest Ones proud.'

"My Queen, the vampires have arrived. Not the most pleasant of people.." Came the trailing enthusiastic voice of Yaraal from behind the elven Queen. It caused her to turn slowly, and take the arm that was being held out to her. "How many of them?" She asked quietly as they walked. "Exactly fifteen." "Of what occupation?" "Mostly guards. Three scribes and three slaves." The Queen paused for a moment. "...Vampiric slaves?" She asked slowly. "No ma'am. They appear to be human. Shall we seat the slaves elsewhere?" "No, no. Let them eat with us. They'll need the nutrition." The blonde chuckled lightly. If she were feeling exceedingly rude, she'd seat the slaves with Lady Hollidae. That would risk causing problems if she decided to play 'save the slaves' though, so she decided against it. This wasn't the time for fun and games.

Kaenirin and Yaraal finally made their way to the entrance hall, where the vampiric group was stood awkwardly among a few of her escorts. The deep emerald tail of her dress slid on the floor behind her regally as the two came to a stop in front of a reasonably tall blonde man. Well, vampire of course. It was quite obvious as well, through his muscular and slightly inhuman features. The way he stood in front of the rest told her that he was most likely the one Yaraal had informed her about previously when the archers watched their travels.

"Yaraal, if you could escort the party to their seats in the dining hall, please. I'll escort this gentleman myself." She said politely, gesturing to Baldassar, whom she didn't actually know the name of yet. Once the fourteen were out of sight though, she took the liberty of introducing herself. "I am Kaenirin Sylvis, Queen of the land you've found yourself in today- and you are?" She asked, her frown twitching up into a small smile.

Baldassar listened intently, though didn't speak unless spoken too. He was given the mouth, ears and eyes of the Oldest Ones but not their rank. He was beneath the queen. When addressed he went into a deep bow, his head tilted forwards as to mostly looking at the ground. ''I am Baldassar Haagen of the 29th generation. I was given the voice of the Oldest Ones during this conference. It is an honour to be invited, miss Sylvis.''

Kaenirin nodded for a moment, trying to think of what she had learned about the social classes of vampires. She knew that a vampire was considered pure by how many generations they had descended from, but she didn't know enough to mention it without sounding uneducated. "I am pleased to meet you, Baldassar. You must be highly regarded by the Oldest Ones if they are willing to send you in their place." She said finally. "Tell me, why is it that they are never present themselves?"

It was only by her next question he stood straight again, following the traditions of his race. ''Thank you'' He started, enjoying praise no matter whom it's from. As to her actual question it was hard to find words, as even he wasn't sure why they don't appear themselves. Surely they would have people able to travel. ''I fear they don't feel to well lately'' 'Yes, every single one of them is feeling ill. Stupid.' His mind bickered at himself, making a hard swallow. ''They wanted me to send you their regard. Hopefully they are well for the next conference, as they'd love to meet you.'' Baldassar still tilted his head slightly as they spoke, soft nods to show respect.

The blonde raised an eyebrow at the vampires answer. "Well, I do hope they all get better soon."Kaenirin said. She wasn't mocking him, but her eyes reflected suspiciously. Did he not know either? Why were they so damn secretive..? Did they think that they were too good to meet with everyone else? The thought made the elf irritated. "Well, how about I show you to your seat? Dinner will be served once everyone arrives. Ah... Will you be eating?" She asked slowly. "Forgive me, I'm ignorant to the ways of vampires." The Queen said honestly, turning to walk towards the dining hall as she spoke.

He followed her closely, looking at the paintings and decorations littered trough the rooms. ''I do partake, yes.'' He said with a slight nod of his head, as tradition bids. ''We taste foods the very same way other races does, just on occasions we need a slightly more... Sanguine feast.'' He let out a small chuckle, following her into the dinning hall. If the room was empty of furniture's it could maybe hold a thousand, yet with the neatly decorated table placed in the middle of the room it was clear they were expecting few important guests. ''Excuse me miss Sylvis, but I have a request of you.'' He kept his tone humble, so she knew it wasn't a request between equals. ''The Oldest Ones would like their three scribes to attend the conference. They will write down every word said during the meetings, themselves remaining quiet as stone. Two will bring their work home to Varisvaara while the third will be granted to your kingdom, as a sign of good will.'' He bowed again as the request was delivered,

traditions forbidding him to look her in the eyes as he delivers a request.

"I see. It pleases me that you'll be eating. The taste of this land is one like no other, I assure you. As for the portion of your meal that doesn't involve food- Sanguine, as you put it- I assume you have that covered? Not many humans reside in Sanctum City, and it'd be ludicrous to offer any of my own for such a purpose." Kaenirin said, taking slow steps to preserve conversation as the two walked through the dining hall. One large banquet table was set in the middle of the large room, set with enough chairs to seat each section of royalty. Like almost everything else, there was an emerald theme to the room. An exceedingly large chandelier hung

over the dining table, lit with candles made of lime wax and covered with thin paper. "Of course. Everyone will be seated together during dinner, and all of those you brought with you will be permitted to join us in the conference afterwards." The Queen said as she eyed the room with approval. As they approached the table, Araak and Xandra looked up from the conversation they were having. "Baldassar, this is my mother and father. I'm sure they will introduce themselves in more depth when I depart. Mother, father, this is Baldassar. He is representing our vampiric neighbors to the east. Do treat him well in my absence, while I go and greet the other guests. Excuse me." Kaenirin said with a small curtsy before turning to walk back the way she came.

Mordahl winced slightly as he tightened the leather strap which secured an iron plate around his left thigh. The grey iron stood in contrast to the pitch black of the rest of his onyx armor, but Mordahl had decided that to be better than the sight of a bandage. Ignoring the pain, Mordahl forced himself to his feet and stretched his legs. He flicked the new decoration that now hung around his neck. The fang of the ocean serpent. He grinned as he fantasized of how the story would be transcribed in Bakkar, an epic tale no doubt.

The ritualistic shouts of a demonic tongue grabbed Mordahl's attention, as he noticed Chancellor Duurenthaal summoning the Hell steads for their relatively short trip to Sanctum City. Dark, gaping holes opened in the earth, the grass immediately around the summoning circle turning a sickly brown. Vaulting from the nether, the steads bucked and snarled in anticipation, ready to gallop.

Mordahl looked back toward the docks as another injured victim was carted off of the flagship. The elves on sight had quickly thrown together a triage of sorts to deal with the critically wounded. Mordahl noticed that this injured individual was none other than Vander Salender himself. "You!" Mordahl bellowed, motioning to the two elves that were carrying him off the boat. They stopped in their tracks. "Will he live?" Mordahl asked. He was more concerned about what would happen to their business arrangement should he perish and, of course, Mordahl preferred his expertise when they traversed the ocean.

"Uncertain....uhm...Emperor." The female elf replied shakily. "He has broken bones. If there is no internal bleeding, his chances of survival are high."

Mordahl nodded and motioned them to continue, with the flick of his wrist. Focusing his mind and closing his eyes Mordahl extended his arm. When he felt the void pass through his fingers, he gripped ahold of it and chanted. "Omnious Legio Draco Maledicte!" At that, a portal to the void split the earth in front of him and a large, terrifying, and majestic Hell Stead came vaulting out, stamping the ground in rage. "Heel Maledict!" Mordahl commanded. At first, it looked as if Maledict would charge Mordahl and attacking him. But the two of them had an intimate bond, and once Maledict recognized him, he calmed.

Mordahl mounted Maledict and the Chancellors followed suite. Mordahl's Field Marshal, Field Marshal Kur, mounted and ordered his eight Lesser Demons to do the same. Once everyone was up and ready, Mordahl kicked his heels against Maledict. Maledict rose on his hind legs, screamed in fury, and charged down the wood line, toward Sanctum City. Mordahl heard the other steeds roar as well as the rest of his Demons followed him.

(2 hours later)

Coming upon the giant wooden doors, Mordahl dismounted and ordered his entourage to do the same. Mordahl turned to Maledict and smiled, petting his long dark mane. "You are dismissed, Maledict. Go forth and ravage the plains of hell." Maledict nickered in acknowledgement and burst into flames. A moment later, only ash was left on the ground. Chancellor Duurenthaal dismissed his steeds as well, who all departed in a similar fashion.

As if on queue, that is when the massive wooden doors creaked open. A tall, thin elf approached them with a large smile on his face. Mordahl found him annoying on sight, and even more so when he opened his soft, flamboyant mouth. "Welcome!" he exclaimed before extending a book to Mordahl. "If you would kindly sign your name on the ledger, I would be honored to escort you..."

Mordahl snatched the book out of the elf's hand and looked upon the page. A single guest had arrived before him. Mordahl quickly scribbled a signature on the page and tossed it back to the gate keeper.

The elf took it in stride and caught the book mid air, the smile apparently cursed upon his face. "Ah excellent, welcome Emperor." The elf unveiled a pen, uncapped it with his mouth, and put it onto the page. "Are there any noteworthy guests you'd like added beneath you?"

Mordahl rapidly extended a fist to the elf, which caused him to flinch backwards and the smile to momentary dissipate. "Finally!" Mordahl exclaimed, happy to see that retarded smile gone from his face. The other demons laughed at the exchange. Mordahl kept his fist where it was and began extending fingers, as he named off his Chancellors "Chancellor Saxahar of the Cruel Scar; Chancellor Lamrun of the Ebon Sun; Chancellor Fridohn of the Hell Claw; Chancellor Duurenthaal of the Savage Hand; Chancellor Volsahm of the Twin Giant; and Field Marshal Kur, Champion of the Cimedach Arena." Mordahl dropped his hand and gazed smugly at the elf, who furiously copied what was said. "Get all that?" Mordahl sarcastically queried. To his surprise, the elf smiled and nodded. Capping the pen and closing the book.

"I sure did!" he exclaimed. "If you'll follow me, the Queen has prepared your arrival in her personal dining hall. Weapons are allowed, but do not raise them. It will be considered a hostile act."

"Sounds like a challenge to me!" One of the Lesser Demons exclaimed, as the other Lesser Demons joined in laughter. Field Marshal Kur turned and promptly elbowed the demon right in his mid section, causing him to double over gasping for breath. Field Marshal Kur turned and shook his head. "Idiot." he muttered.

As they were escorted through Sanctum City, Mordahl and his demons caught a variety of attention. Some grimaced at them. Others stared at them in wonder. Mordahl found himself pinching the bridge of his nose, fighting off a headache. This place was too....colorful. It was like walking into a god forsaken painting on the surface of the sun. "God help them if a stray rock goes flying about." Saxahar said, looking around at the glistening city, breaking the silence. "Their whole kingdom might shatter into a trillion pieces." Mordahl heard his other demons fight off laughter as the elves around them, who had heard that, looked at Saxahar in disgust. Chancellor Saxahar glared back at one of the male elves and extended his arms. "What?" he mocked, with a smug look on his face. "You gonna choke me with your dress?"

"No but I will" Mordahl growled, stopping and turning so that Saxahar ran into him. "You're beginning to test my patience, Saxahar." Saxahar raised his hands in submission and slightly bowed.

"Understood, my Lord." Saxahar replied.

Soon after, the Demons would enter a large dining room with a single group seated. "Wait here, if you will." The elf said, smiling and facing them. "I will inform the Queen of your arrival."

A total of 2 and a half hours would pass before Damian would arrive at the capital. He had decided to hitch a ride with a travelling caravan and he was asleep within a bale of hay before the caravan came to a sudden halt. One of the men who appeared to be human in nature removed himself from his carriage and he grabbed a small 3 or 4 foot stick that he kept with him to get rid of pests. The man was a bit on the older side as evidenced by his sagging skin and the bags from his eyes. He also had light grey eyes that seemed to be losing the life in them but his age was no concern as of right now. He gripped the stick tightly and he slammed it down right on top of Damian's head as hard as he could and exclaimed in an angry voice. "How long have you been back there hitching a ride!? Freeloader!" His voice rose with anger as he steadied the stick again since the first strike didn't wake up the red-haired man. He swung down and this time caught Damian right in the thigh region and that woke him up. A yawn was given as he slowly started to sit up and strands of hay were all over his face and stuck in his hair. His eyes shifted over to the old man and they were cold for a split seconds before a familiar playfulness returned. He ducked under the next swing and he rolled off the wagon of hay and hit the ground. He sprang up on his feet and searched around before finding a coin and he tossed it over his shoulder to the old man. "Not a freeloader, I was just travelling with some maniacs and I needed a nap".

He finished wiping himself off and there were still pieces of hay in area's he couldn't reach but he decided not to worry about that for now before his eyes shifted to the right and he chuckled a little before he put his hands in the air to display his surrender. His tone was playful since he was surrounded by three rather tall and pointy looking Elvish Guards.
"I didn't expect such a quick response...man..I gotta think of a way out of this or the queen will remove my head if she is still mad at me for calling her a bitch.." He spoke in a sing-song tone as he ran through a bunch of scenario's in his head and a slight tilt was given but as he was thinking his shadow seemed to shudder slowly and he would fight them if he had to then two ideas crossed his mind and an large exaggerated sigh was given as he spoke. "I could tell her I owe her a favor so she doesn't kill me..but I have no idea what she'll make me do...hopefully just kill some minor person but she's quite crazy....Oh! Oh! Oh!" His last words came out as a bit of a relief and he thought about it as the very last second. "I am here with the big guy..Mordahl..the emperor...I am a guest sortakinda" He was there when a few men died and he hoped all 15 didn't sign in or he was going to have to think on his feet to escape. The Guards looked at tall and thin Elf that seemed to be in charge or those signing in. He gave Damian a displeased look and the assassin had a few enemies in this country. He pestered the Queen three times about a book and Damian always managed to slip past the guards. One always wondered why he wasn't killed but Damian was clever. He did a few secret favors for the Queen and he also just liked messing with her from time to time. No one knew but Damian just figured sometimes she wanted to be treated like she was normal...if it eventually got him killed..so be it. "Just sign in fool and be on your best behavior" The Elf just stared as Damian signed and walked by and his look was seething with hatred as he let the assassin in. He whispered to one of the guards to inform the Royal Guards as well as the Queen that a troublemaker might be in attendance.

"Thanks my pointy-tree like friend." He patted the Elf on his shoulder playfully and somewhat mockingly as he left. He never thought the coin Mordahl gave him would ever come in handy besides getting him in the library but he decided to keep it just in case he ever needed it for something else. One elf that was most kind removed the rest of the Hay from him except there were still one or two strands in his hair. Damian knew his way around the city well but he decided to play nice and let the escort take him. It wasn't long before he arrived in the large dining area and he just glanced around and he was observing the people and his surrounding. He may have acted nonchalant and came up with things on the fly but when it came to escaping and just assassination in general, he always made sure to know his environment. When he was done with his scan, he slowly raised his hand and playfully waved/got Mordahl's attention and decided to just tell him the truth as he spoke. "Yo Big Guy, I said I was your official guest using the coin you gave me. I hope this doesn't get you to kill me but I really need to speak to the Queen about somethings and I don't think even I could sneak into her chambers with all this security plus I actually think I kinda am your guest. We did ride on the same boat after all." There was a hint of genuine confusion at the end of his statement because he wasn't sure if he was a guest and on-top of the trouble he went through with the man with the stick, he probably could have just traveled with Mordahl but he didn't want to push his limits too far with the guy yet. He crossed his arms over his chest and simply stood there and waited to be seated since he had no idea where he would be put. "Oh man..I hope the Elf isn't in a bad mood...I really need that book and I don't feel like being thrown in jail again..."

Just as Kaenirin had managed to deal with her first vampiric visitors, it seemed the next had already arrived. To say the least, she heard the demons before she saw them. Once her emerald eyes did fall on the group, it took the elf everything she had not to laugh. The demons simply looked so out of place in the entryway of her elegant home. With their appearance alone, they stood out like vampires on the beach.

Approaching the men with a set face, the blonde Queen greeted them with a stiff smile. She was unsure of whether to curtsy or not, but eventually decided against it. That was a sign that the emperor was superior to her, which he certainly was not.
"Yaraal, seat the others if you will. I'll exchange greetings with the emperor myself and escort him when we're ready." She said to her ever smiling companion. He looked a bit less chipper than usual, which was odd yet expected. Once Her instructions were heeded, she turned her attention fully to the Emperor. "Lord Mordahl, welcome to my home." She said simply, with a calculating look.

Mordahl cocked his head and motioned for his demons to follow the elf to the table, leaving him and Sylvis alone. In a very rare act, Mordahl removed his helmet. His white eyes boring down into hers as he smiled wide, baring his brilliant white fangs. They looked upon each other with cold, calculating grins. It was only natural for those in power to measure the other's worth, dropping passive-aggressive remarks and hinting at the other's strength. Mordahl leaned back and looked Kaenirin up and down. "Well, well, well.." Mordahl began, returning to his upright position. "If it isn't Kaenirin Sylvis herself, the Queen no less." Mordahl looked up and to the right, in thought. "To think, last we met you stood along side Araak. Known only as his daughter." Mordahl looked back down at Kaenirin and extended his arms, as if he was presenting her."Now look at you." Mordahl chuckled and returned to his original stance. "A century hasn't aged you a bit my dear." Mordahl broke eye contact and gazed about the room. "I must say I was quite disappointed to learn that Araak had stepped down. He was quiet formidable at the last Summit."Mordahl returned his gaze to Kaenirin. "Will they be joining us, by any chance? I had hoped to exchange pleasantries."

"Why thank you. I suppose I could say the same, though I didn't see your handsome face last time." The elven queen said with a guarded expression. Her arms were folded behind her back formally, as she peered up at her taller companion. "My father is here, actually. I'm sure he's eager to catch up with you and exchange pleasantries as well. He's quite good at pleasing people. I do which I had inherited that side of him." She added pointedly, turning on her feet to stride slowly. Her eyes trailed along the walls as she studied portraits that she saw everyday. "I give you my condolences, by the way. I'm sure you lost a few of your own on the way here. It'd be tragic to have ended your long reign at the bottom of the ocean." She chuckled at the end of her sentence. The thought of Mordahl sitting at the bottom of the sea with an angry face was all she could imagine. "Salendar should've warned you about such a beast. I've been told the story of it since I was a little girl." Kaenirin said with an apathetic shake of her head.

Mordahl couldn't help but laugh as he began to remember Kaenirin's dark sense of humor. How she made light of so much tragedy and death was incomparable, and Mordahl quite enjoyed it. As they walked, side by side, the heavy clang from each step of Mordahl's armor echoed down the dimly light halls. He found himself having to duck to avoid certain hanging decorations. "Well, your condolences are well received. They died like warriors. We should all be so lucky." Mordahl cocked his head so that he could get a glimpse of Kaenirin's face. "Let us hope the body count for the elves on board doesn't prove to be tooextensive." Mordahl turned his head and smiled at Kaenirin.

"That is not to say the beast didn't attempt to drag me to the bottom of the ocean." Mordahl unclasped the chain that was holding the fang and offered it to Kaenirin to view. "It seems they will need to add another page to that childhood story of yours." Mordahl let a moment pass for Kaenirin to view the fang. "The page which tells of the day the serpent met it's match, against the Emperor of Bakkar." Mordahl tapped his finger against his lips in thought. "When they write it, I do hope they portray my horns right." Mordahl let out a sigh of exhaustion. "It is so irritating when bards and authors never quite depict your legendary accomplishments correctly, you know what I mean?"Mordahl looked down upon Sylvis smugly, anticipating her response.

The tapping of the Kaenirin's heels were all that could be heard aside from clanging armor for the moment that the blonde was silent. Her eyes trailed upwards as Mordahl laughed and she couldn't help the smirk that spread onto her own face. "Those who departed knew their likelihood of returning." She said simply, at the mention of loosing some of her own people. She didn't honestly take the fact so lightly, but there was no use in showing her faint remorse to someone who would rip the expressions from her face and brutally beat her with them. "At least the treacherous creature that diminished my numbers has been slain. That is a fine reward for such a deed. I can't wait to see how the authors portray it. You must cut them some slack, after all. Someone as ancient as you is likely to have many depictions." She said in what sounded pleasant, but certainly had a sharp edge if you were listening for it. Her grin widened slightly as they passed by a portrait of her that hung widely upon one of the main walls. "I do understand what you mean, though. They simply never get my nose right." She chuckled.

Their slow footsteps finally brought them to the dining hall where everyone else resided. Kaenirin merely gestured to the room with her hands, smiling politely as heads turned their way. "Here we are, Mordahl. I do hope you're hungry." She said slowly.

Mordahl laughed as he replaced the helmet which revealed only his lower jaw. It was too easy to pick up on the subtle jab Kaenirin had made about his age. "Well when your issues are narrowed down to how many different depictions there are of you floating around, perhaps you haven't any issues at all. In Fact.." Mordahl said as they approached the entrance to the dining hall. "..I do believe the gods themselves suffer from such issues."

Mordahl gazed upon the large portrait of Kaenirin as she motioned to it walking by. Mordahl looked at the portrait, then back at Kaenirin, and the back at the portrait. Focusing on her nose. "Yes.." Mordahl agreed."..I'm of the opinion your nose is more like....your brother's." Mordahl turned and smiled at Kaenirin. That comment could be taken a multitude of ways. Mordahl cared little which way Kaenirin chose to interpret it. "And I am ravished, my dear. Thank you for your pleasant company." Mordahl gave the Queen a curt nod and a menacing grin as he made his way into the dining hall.

Kaenirin glared sharply after the demon as he made his way, most likely, to greet her father. She wasn't completely sure what he was getting at with such a comment, but it had quietly pissed her off. Who did he think he was, coming into her home and throwing around such words.. A small sigh escaped her lips as she turned to most likely repeat the same process, hopefully with someone who wasn't looking deep within her for a weakness to exploit. The Queen wasn't so sure though, as her eyes fell upon red hair that she new all too well. "...Damian." She said slowly, throwing a regally serious expression back onto her face. "You'd better not be here to ask about a certain book. Today is not the day for you to come in here and- wait a moment. How did you get in, in the first place?"

@Kamuro

Damian was just standing there and an amusing thought crossed his mind "I seem to know a lot of royalty for being nothing more than the son of THE priest and a mere peasant..and she seems to be in a halfway decent mood so I guess that is good..." He raised his right hand and he gave her his usual greeting which was a playful little wave of his right hand. Admittedly, the human used to have a thing for her until he found out that she was royalty. He just strolled over towards her in a lazy manner before he came to a stop in front of her. His arms fell to his sides and he gave his head a slight tilt as he decided to over exaggerate his bow. A smirk crossed his face as he slowly pulled himself up and he would describe their relationship as interesting and a love-hate one. She was one of his favorite people in the world to mess with even though she had the power to strike him down whenever she pleased but he had a track record with these "Favors" of his and always delivered then she needed it. He couldn't help as he tried to put on a serious face but the playful look in his eyes made it hard for him to be taken serious. A long sigh was given as he decided to drop the serious act and a pout was given as she instantly shot him down on the book.

"Come come..I thought we had a nice and healthy relationship and I just came to visit an old friend annnddddddd try to get you to let me read that got damn book" His voice was filled with a mock innocence as he stood there. He stepped to the right just in case she wanted to walk by and he decided not to push his luck today since there seemed to be an important event going on. Oh shit, today is that event when all you royal come together and discuss treaties and how you're gonna just stab each other in the back eventually." He was a brutally honest and playful as ever with her and he gave a small chuckle before his eyes shifted over towards Mordahl.

"I got in because I went to the fire Kingdom after you tossed me in Jail last time and I met up with the Big Guy over there. He's rather hot tempered like someone else I know...but I killed a few people here and there and he gave me a coin. I lied and told your guards I was with him and they just let me in..so here I am. I totally forgot about this summit and now I have nothing to do." He lifted up his shoulders to give her a shrug and most royalty would be offended by the casual way he talked to her but the two had been playing cat and mouse over this book for about 3 years. He even was about to get executed once but he had managed to escape.

"I promise I won't bother you about the book but I have nothing else to do..can I stay here and watch..Pleasseeeeee" He adjusted his voice to sound like a child begging his parents for candy before a serious look entered his eyes and he leaned forwards and cupped his hands over her ear so no one could hear his next statement "Plus..I can watch everyone closely and get a gauge of their traits..It may come in handy if you ever need an assassin to kill them" He moved away from her and he put his hand to his chest in mock surprise and he was one for theatrics around her. "Oh my! You just happen to know one that is very good at such things and who is wrapped around your finger and pretty much does anything you want since you have that got damn book and won't give it to me.." His voice returned to normal and he just waved his hands a little as he stepped a few feet away from her. He kept his back to her and he raised his shoulders up again for another shrug. He turned his head to look at her and those devilish eyes held such amusement but he was ready to escape if he had to.

"We both know your guards are woefully insufficient at capturing me and only you and probably a few others could actually do it..so let's save us all the trouble and let me stay..but I would like a word with you afterwards about that book and something else very important that you might want to hear, deal?" He turned quickly to face her and he just started to walk backwards as he hoped her curiosity about the information he was withholding would be enough to keep her from trying to capture him plus he was extremely hungry as he made his way towards the table but he made sure his eyes never left hers. "Where do I sit ma'am?"

Kaenirin frowned deeply at the man, sighing in exhaustion. "I can't wait for the day eighty years from now when you die of old age, and I still look twenty." The Queen said spitefully. "Honestly, if you were truly 'wrapped around my finger' than you would've already committed suicide. Now I'm giving you one chance to leave before I escort you out. Better yet, I'm sure the vampires would love to do so. Baldassar over there is quite the gentleman." A manicured finger pointed towards the dining hall, before shifting to point at the door. She lowered it after a moment though, with a small smile creeping onto her face. Her exchange with Mordahl had made her rather tense, and nothing relaxed her more that the sight of someone grovelling at her feet. "Well... I suppose you could stay. But only if you're willing to get on your knees and beg me- and I mean actually beg. That's my only condition. If you can't comply with it than you'll just have to leave." The blonde shrugged.

"You're as spiteful as ever but you know I am not going to beg. I will just give you some information on a certain someone if you let me stay." He winked at her as he took a seat next to the very vampire she called a gentleman and boy did these two have a mutual friend that may lead to some tension down the road. He just winked at the queen playfully before glancing around the table at Royalty and their companions. He simply felt a little out of place before simply casting the doubt from his mind. He figured she would be curious enough to not kill him or he would die here at the table. He also made a slight underhanded move by quickly joining the table with the others. No one would want to cause an uproar with all these royals around.

Kaenirins eye twitched as she watched the red head sit down, before sighing passively. She had been being sarcastic when she asked him to beg, but she did wish that he would've anyway. All she would do now was wait for the rest of her guests to arrive. If the man didn't give her any good information later, she was undoubtedly having him executed. With all the people she'd executed for less reasons, why the annoying man lived on was a question that remained unanswered.

The night was glistening with stars and gentle glow of the moon. Victoria breathed it in for she knew that it maybe the last time she'll find peace before the event.
"Your majesty." the lieutenant said as he bowed before her. "Everything is ready depart." She glanced at him soon looking towards the city. "Very Well. See to it that everything is set as you say." He bowed again prior to leaving. Charles, one of the queen's advisors and by far her favorite, walked behind her as Victoria started to approach her carriage. Her mother was not attending since Victoria put her in charge while she is absent in her home affairs. She thought it would be best not to bring the general also since he was valuable to her army.

The vehicles were luxurious with gold designs and seats with velvet. she observed the features and felt satisfied with the design for it was appropriate enough to not be outdone by any of the other countries. the Lieutenant joined her side once more to confirm everything, she looked upon to simply say the words "proceed to exiting" the soldier echoed command to his men. The others soon marched to their positions as the carriage moved at a steady pace. as the began to move Victoria slowly started to drift off. How could she be so stupid? the one time her mother showed her affection, she rejected it and started to pull her further away. it was the only thing she thought about after realizing her mistake. The lieutantent brought her back to the real world as he informed her "We are in a far enough distance to open the portal my queen" she turned to him with a dull expression " so do it" instantly the lieutenant unsheathed his wand and recited the words "portae sinifact!" the wand summoned something similar to a black hole but had the image of the green kingdom inside. they entered the vortex and instantly arrived. "opus ignis!" was the spell she heard as different colors of lights from the wizards wands beamed into the sky while they paraded into the capital. The carriages and chariots gleaming from them whilst Victoria postured herself to look high and mighty, waving at the citizens. it seemed obviously that she brought more than fifteen people but most of them were only there to entertain and would leave after she entered the palace. The elf people awed at them passing by, admiring the show and décor like Victoria expected them to.

When they arrived at the castle, Charles exited the carriage offering her a hand to step down from. She took the offer turning towards the nearest horse to her and started to pet , almost like a sign of gratitude. She adjusted herself as the guards opened the palace doors for her where she was greeted by a servant.
"Queen Victoria! If you don't mind me asking for the names of the people accompanying you." Victoria simply lifted her hands up in front of hi proceeding to walk "I know you are only doing your job and you are remarkable job at it." the servant let out a smile before leading her to the dining room " You really think so? I never really been complimated on my work before." Victoria nodded at him, pulling of a grin "Of course I do, But my guests are not important at least not to you. I know I have more than fifteen yet Only fifteen is staying so it shouldn't be a problem." The elf tried to keep up with her as they walked to the doors. "Yes of course. please allow me to present you to the rulers." before the man could she hushed him announcing."Thank you but I have it handled." prior to the guards opening the door for both her and her guest. Charles leaned to her asking " Are you nervous Your grace?" she scoffed at his response before turning to him. "Compared to me all of them are savage scum so tell me whom shall I fear?"

as the doors began to open two servants thrown rose petals at her feet as she appeared gracefully. walking with elegance and poise, obviously showing that she was superior just by the way she walked since in her opinion she was. she definitely made a presents since the room feel silent only to hear the clacking of her shoes. she stopped at the table. "I am Victoria Kuvira Brooke, successor of the righteous king Vladimir and Queen of Yunkai." her voice was confident no doubt as her advisor brought forth a small box that was plated with silver. "As a token for your hospitality, I present you with a gift." she then opened the chest raising up the necklace for all to see. "This necklace was made by the finest jeweler in my country. With silver and emeralds displayed in such a precise way, It is unique and valuable like the queen you brought this kingdom to it current glory." she placed the necklace back in it's chest before Charles handing it to one of the elf guards to bring to Kae. she took her seat at the edge of the table with two guards behind her and her advisor on her right side while the rest sat wherever they pleased. in honesty she was disappointed. she expected more of a party or a banquet than just having dinner. It was less extravagant than she expected but the the queen is just as bland as everyone else in the room.

Damian was resting his head on the table since he didn't have the best table manners and he was rather sleepy. In reality, the red-head had actually fell asleep before the sound of her footsteps echoing on the floor woke him up from his slumber. A few blinks were given as he had forgotten where he was before he just sat up and he stared around the room. He was admittedly confused as to why everyone was silent but his confusion only grew as he watched the floor being showered with rose petals. He raised up his right hand and he rubbed his hair furiously and a few more strands of hay fell out. A raised eyebrow was given as he had an internal thought. "And just when you thought no one was as self-centered as Kae..a new one pops out. She looks pretty young too..obviously a bit spoiled to be acting like this..Ooohhh I wonder if the two are gonna have a bitch-off and which one of them would win."

The thought of the two arguing entertained him a bit and it showed on his face as a small little smile crossed his face. He looked around and seen the room was in silence before he raised up his hands. He proceeded with perhaps the most sarcastic and slow clap that he could conjure up in response to the display the young queen had put on. His attention shifted over to the Kae and he honestly had no idea who the little girl was and he just mouthed to her and hoped she would be able to understand what he was trying to say.
"Who the hell is that...she actually might be a bigger bitch than you are and I certainly did not think that was possible considering you are the biggest bitch I have ever met in my life but at-least you get a pretty necklace."

He decided to behave after that and he rested his head on the table and he closed his eyes again. He didn't know how many guest were suppose to arrive and he honestly had no place being here and he was starting to regret his decision. He didn't find these group of people to be entertaining just yet. He was hoping things would take an interesting turn when all of them arrived and started to talk about world events. It wasn't long before he drifted back into a very light sleep. Such an odd man in the face of all this royalty.

Victoria looked around seemily bored though she just arrived there. She leaned towards Charles, her advisor before whispering. "How long do we have to be here again?" Her advisor adjusted himself responding. "Not for long, plus we just arrived so just enjoy the time we have here." She scoffed at him. "No offense But I don't find it entertaining to be surrounded by old people, just glancing at each other waiting for something interesting to happen. If anything I should be back in Yunkai ruling over my people successfully unlike the leaders here, who would probably have their kingdom collapse in a matter of years." Charles looked around the room gesturing towards Damian. "He doesn't look old." Victoria examined the man before looking back at Charles. "Yeah but he's a human there's a difference, fascinating creatures actually. I thought there was going to be a banquet or a festival or something. Not just a plain old dinner. If I knew it would be like this I wouldn't have been so spontaneous."

Charles looked around as she spoke knowing that she was just ranting since she had nothing else to do at the time. Victoria peered towards Baldassar looking at his company.
"Are those human slaves? That's pitiful, I can't stand it when I see people being opposed in such and the human sitting across the table seem like it had never passed his mind that is own people are being treated in such a way. Its quite alarming." Charles observed the slaves nodding in agreement with what she had to say. "Do you think the languor Queen will do anything about it?" Victoria snickered at his sign of hope for the human that she crushed instantly by saying. "Doubt it, they are called languor for a reason plus I heard the new queen is a disappointment. Locking herself in her castle, not even having her people look upon her face so they don't even recognize the shift of power in the kingdom. She hasn't done anything for her people either. I must say it is characteristics of a pathetic Queen. If i was her i would've done something as soon as I sat on the throne. Thank God my parents taught me better." She grinned at her comment kind of hoping what she said wasn't entirely true.

In actuality it seemed the human were in a worst predicament than any other race and if the didn't have a appropriate ruler their would just remain at the bottom along side everyone else.
"Just tell me when this dinner is over." She sat up on her seat starting to drift off like usual seeing there was nothing entertaining to do but be like the others and wait. She for some reason, she glanced back at the human trying to remember why he seemed so familiar before she called out to him. "You are a scholar correct? Shanache is it?"

In a secluded corner of the dining hall stood a small group of three. They conversed with no one, their job was to record history, not create it themselves. Erian stood ramrod straight, flanked by two subordinates, and the only sound that came from the group was the scratches of writing against parchment. The other two had simpler jobs-- they were to record the milling around of the common and unimportant folk, the ones least likely to do anything of importance. Eirian's job was more prestigious, she was in charge of documenting the guests of honor. Rarely did a summit like this ever happen and the young woman knew the sole duty of writing it down fell to her. Every gesture, every word and action was caught by her icy gaze and written down to the smallest and most minute detail.

Her eyes never leaving the guests, Eirian commanded the two beside her. "Lunelis, Phira, are you working or trying out your best impression of overbearing puppies? Either you two stop hovering near me and separate to gather information or I will call in others who can actually do their work." With a look of shame, the assistants hurriedly split up, going in opposite directions to cover more ground. Sighing, Eirian attempted to ignore the slight rumbling of her stomach, it was easy to forget that she needed sustenance every now and then. Regardless, she couldn't afford to let that get the best of her, what kind of superior would the elf be if she paused her work to find food? The thought in and of itself was mortifying.

She took in the busy hall once again. Perhaps she should move elsewhere in order to get a better vantage point, it would be crucial not to miss a single movement. As she paused her writing for the first time since arriving, Eirian moved from her spot, aiming for a less crowded area on the other side of the room. However, before she knew it, her progress was halted as the woman's foot caught on something, causing her to pitch towards the ground, papers flying from her hand as she did so. Taking a moment to gather her bearings, the woman ignored the slight pain from her hands and knees- caused from catching herself- and began busying herself with collecting her papers. It took all the woman had not to snap at whoever she tripped against, manners were a part of her training and it could have very well been an important dignitary she found herself stumbling on. Lifting her eyes, she spoke in a gruff tone, obviously holding back any remarks she might have wanted to make. "My apologies, I was not watching where I was going."

There was a very small groan as his last name was called out and he opened his right eye but kept the left one closed and he thought about pretending he was asleep but this Queen seemed like she had a shorter tempter that Kae so he decided against it. He raised his head up slowly and opened his other eye before a small yawn was given. He placed his back flat against the chair and he stretched his arms and his legs out and a few popping sounds could be heard from his back. He was certainly far too young for such sounds to be escaping from his back. His attention shifted over to Victoria and he had an internal debate on how he should handle this one. "Ugh, I was having such a nice nap and a very lovely dream but I better behave with this one since I don't know her."

A tilt of his head was given at the thought of himself being a scholar than a small chuckle escaped his lips before he addressed her in a slightly more respectful tone than he did Mordahl or Kae but it was still characteristically sarcastic. It was just his nature. "
A scholar? Ehhhhh, I guess you could say that. I am only interested in certain books tho and unfortunately for me....all these books seem to be in royal libraries. They really are a pain in the ass to get." A playful pout escaped his lips as he leaned forwards and his voice took on the tone of an upset child. "Kae keeps making me do things but she won't give me the book and I can't steal it from her because I kinda like her and she's -- I just can't get it from her. The big guy over there made me fight some people when all I wanted to do was take the book and leave. It was a bit easier since they were weak but I didn't wanna do it." His tone shifted as he decided to get serious since she also had a book he needed. "Hey, could I come to your Kingdom and read a book? I already read the vampire one..."

A thought crossed his mind as he let out a large sigh.
"I wonder what kind of nonsense she is gonna have me do to try and get this book. I just hope it's like -- Hey just come and visit and I will let you read the book but nope nope nope -- It never ever happens like that.

@Robyn Banks

"Sorry for interrupting your nap, I would love to do the same but nevertheless drifting off will do for now." Victoria let the man speak seemily interested in what he to say laughing at some of comments of what the other rulers forced him to do to get the book. She thought it was foolish since knowledge was the one thing, her people fought to be the most important. to have so many obstacles to retrieve had it seemed irrational.Maybe they should read a book once in a while, might actually make them better smarter but than again that was her own opinion.

"No you can not... You have to read more than one if you want to come to my library. That's my only wish. Where I'm from knowledge is key and it shouldn't be so difficult to be educated." She said sincerely, she read most of the books in her library, and hated rereading them.it would be a shame to let the books pick up dust."What book do you want to read in specific?" At this point she wanted to lean back into her chair and just rest her head but she knew that she would be correct so she decided not to.

Mordahl stepped a bit more lively as he approached the massive table, feeling triumphant from his exchange with the elven queen. His pace slowed, however, when his eyes met with Araak and Xandra Sylvis. Unlike their young and fair daughter, they had aged significantly from the last time he had seen them. Araak's hair line had receded, and his eyes appeared to have sunk slightly more into their sockets. He and his wife sat to the left and right of the head of the table, which was undoubtedly reserved for Kaenirin. Araak grinned when he laid eyes on Mordahl, but Mordahl spoke first. "Now this!..." Mordahl exclaimed with a playful tone, grinning and motioning to where Araak was sitting. "....This just won't do. I know Bakkar was an intimidating opponent during the last Summit, as we will be again, but that's no excuse to quit on me." Mordahl smiled as he shifted his gaze to Xandra. She had aged as well, but Mordahl knew well how to conduct himself in these social environments. "Now Xandra." Mordahl began, looking at her and motioning to Araak. "It is pure cruelty to let your husband wither away while you retain such a youthful appearance. Do tell him your secret, will you?"

The Chancellors and the demons across from them all glanced at each other confused. Never had they seen their Emperor act so formal. From the corner of his eye, Mordahl had to fight back laughter as Chancellor Saxahar feigned a desire to vomit, before having his foot promptly stomped on by Chancellor Volsahm. Saxahar's veins bulged in his head as he tried to hide his new found pain.

The grin on Araak's face merely widened and he slowly got to his feet at the Emperors greeting. "Mordahl! You beast, you're earlier than I thought you'd be." The elf said rambunctiously as he held out his hand to be shook. "I truly am withering away. That's why I finally had to step down after the last summit. Kaenirin has done a fine job in my place, if I do say so myself." he added. "Oh, I hope she didn't disrespect you in any way." Xandra added, smiling softly.

As much as Mordahl truly despised the tradition of shaking hands, he returned Araak's gesture without hesitation. "A true pity." Mordahl replied, maintaining his welcoming smile. "My Empire grows. We would've had much to discuss. But I look forward to engaging your daughter once we assemble. If she is even half as cunning as you, she will prove quite formidable." Mordahl looked over at Xandra. "Bah.." he began, kindly waving off her remark. "..If anything Kaenirin could stand to be a little harder on the edges." Mordhal chuckled. "That's not to say she lacks an ability to wield her words like swords. A skill I enjoy, and admire." Mordahl had learned from these leaders, during the last Summit, that these social interactions were as shallow as the ears that heard them, but it was a necessary torture to gain the ear of the world. Mordahl was unique in that he had given a voice to a race that had not too long ago been labeled as savages and barbarians.

"Araak!" Mordahl exclaimed, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I have brought with me a true treat from Bakkar on this occasion. Four kegs of my finest Gourg. It is said that no Elf has survived a night around my whiskey. Do join me and my demons on one of these nights, and put these rumors to rest."

The elven man nodded, taking his seat. Even in his old age, the elf couldn't force himself to turn down alcohol. "But of course!" He said as he settled himself. "Though, I do hope they're actually rumors. With Xandra looking so young compared to me, I'm sure she'd move on quickly if I passed." Araak said with a nod, earning a pointed look from his wife, who merely shook her head and rolled her eyes in exasperation. The man moved long silver hair out of his face to smile lovingly at her. It caused a smile to creep onto the woman's face, along with a small blush that was still there after a thousand years. "Please, have a seat Mordahl. Once everyone arrives we'll feast, and discuss what needs to be discussed." Araak finally said, peering towards the hall where his daughter disappeared. "Surely someone will be arriving soon."

No sooner had Araak finished that statement, than did a short obnoxious girl make her way into the room. From Asha's pictures, Mordahl recognized her as none other than Victoria Brooke accompanied by two guards and, perhaps, a family friend. Mordahl peered down the hall after the elven queen, but it appeared she was unaware of the wizardess' arrival.

That is when a tap against the back his armored boot caught Mordahl's attention. Glaring down, he saw a thin, blonde elf scrambling to retrieve documents she had lost during her fall. Mordahl bent down and snatched one of the papers before the elf was able to retrieve it. On the page was written a step by step account of the vampire's activity since they had arrived in the palace. Impressive.

"My apologies, I was not watching where I was going."

Mordahl allowed a moment of uncomfortable silence pass as he studied the elf, looking down on her. She was irritated. Either at herself, or at Mordahl for being in the way. Mordahl laughed as he extended the paper to the elf for her to retrieve. "Well..." Mordahl replied, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "I suppose at 6'9" I'm easy to miss, and we are quite cramped in here after all, right?" Mordahl asked condescendingly, motioning at all of the open space.

Had she have been anyone else, Eirian might have quailed at the dominating presence of the demon, or merely at the fact that she had tripped over him. While her area of expertise was elven history it certainly did not mean that the historian was unfamiliar with the many accomplishments of the emperor. From what she understood he was an arrogant and brutal man, one who believed power could solve his every problem. Yes, Eirian refused to let someone like that elicit a reaction from her, even if they were currently a guest and under the hospitality of the elves. The elf rose to her feet, shoulders squared and appearing as if she had never even fallen to begin with as she accepted the paper from the other.

"I beg your pardon," her eyes never strayed from his as she spoke, the same impassive expression on her features as always. "I had become so engrossed in my work that I failed to pay attention to my surroundings." The words on their own were polite enough, but when coupled with an unflinching blue gaze and a hint of fire hidden deep beneath her tone they took on a different sound altogether. There were few things the woman hated more than being belittled and, emperor or not, she would make that displeasure known. "It won't happen again." She hoped she would be able to take her leave quickly, this was distracting her from her work.

@Church418

An eyebrow was raised and a tilt of his head was given and she had managed to completely confuse and surprise Damian. He didn't expect things to go that easily and he also did not expect her to be so pleasant after her overly dramatic entrance. She had caught his attention and he slowly started to sit straight up and his right hand was bought to his head as he rubbed it slightly as he debated if she was tricking him or not. "Nothing is this easy......but she seems to be pretty serious. I can't fuckin believe this - I have finally met a normal human being and it looks like I do not have to jump through a bunch of ropes to get this book!!" His excitement was starting to build up and his relief from not having to do anything before it got the better of him. He always acted on impulses when extremely pleased and he forgot the presence of his company.

He stood up and he just bent his knees and easily flipped over the table and he would land directly in-front of her. He moved over and slipped his arms around her and would give her an absolutely crushing hug where he would accidentally pick her up if she allowed it. His cheek would press against hers happily as he spoke in an overly pleased tone towards her.
"Oh my, I misjudged you completely and you are not like these other assholes I have been dealing with to get these books. If I didn't think you'd kill me, I would give you a kiss because I am so damn happy." His eyes shifted around the room a little but he had yet to let her go as he whispered. "Kae fucking makes me do all these favors and kill certain people and I am no closer to the book at all...I had to travel all the way to Mordahl's kingdom and nearly died at sea...some angel wanted to kill me..and the he made me fight some people all over one got damn book. I am so relieved you are normal!"

@Robyn Banks

Mordahl took a significant step forward toward the elf and glared into her eyes, a smile erupting on his face. Hidden beneath this poised, proper exterior, lay a flaming anger that yearned to be let loose. Mordahl hadn't been this drawn to the eyes of a person since his exchange with Agatha Sallow. After studying them a bit more, Mordahl stepped away and let his face return to normal. "You ought to let that anger free sometime." Mordahl uttered, softly enough that only she could hear. "It must be infuriating, being forced to act as someone you're not." Mordahl gave the elf one final grin before turning and making his way towards his seat at the table, between two of his Chancellor's.

Mordahl sat himself at the table and was adjusting himself, until he realized all of his demons were staring at him and doing nothing else. Irritated, Mordahl looked back at them questionably, before motioning to all of the food and wine on the table. "We've braved the worst of the ocean to be here. We have slain a beast spoken of only in legends. Deeds that only demons of the Cimedach Empire could accomplish!"

His demons stamped on the floor and shouted a war cry.

Mordahl stood and held out his finely crafted chalice of wine to be toasted. "So eat! Drink! For Bakkar!"

"FOR BAKKAR!" his demons shouted in reply as they began to drink and eat. And with that, the dining hall seemed much more lively.

Baldassar Haagen.

Baldassar
walked over to the old pair, bowing in the same manner he had before the queen.

''Thank you kindly for allowing my presence. I feel great honour in being treated as the likes of royalty.'' He spoke as eloquently as he could, neither too fast or too slow. He had a small smile on his face, not because of laughter but because of the joy of being among royalty.

Araak smiled broadly at the vampire,
"Well, in our eyes you are royalty. You took responsibility and came here to represent your people." He said with raised eyebrows. "Something not even your elders have done. You are a very important man." He added, looking completely impressed. "What a darling. Have a seat by me, dear."Xandra added after her husband with an endearing smile.

Baldassar nodded his head in respect, elegantly taking the seat next to the elven woman. ''You raised your daughter very well, I wouldn't be sur-'' He got caught off guard as a human slumbed down in the seat next to him, head resting on the table behind a cover of fiery red hair. Baldassar's first thought was he was dead, but the way his body was moving the guy must be breathing. Dead or alive, it was a disrespectful way to present oneself in such royal company. ''Who could have brought such a slouch. No human royalty have shown up yet. I wonder if anyone will miss him.'' The thought of teaching him a lesson, a bloody one, was quite tempting. Obviously now wouldn't be the time, yet the conference have just begun.''Wouldn't be surprised if the historians will study her for ages to come.'' He finished looking back towards the old queen.

"Quite the doll, you are. I do thank you for saying so." Xandra said happily as her husband turned to greet another. A small chuckle escaped her as the vampire made a face at Damian. The elvish woman only knew who he was from her daughters continuous complaining. Apparently he was quite the nuisance. Why he was present though, was beyond her. But she did find it funny that the vampire certainly didn't seem to like him much.

The exchanges with the elvish woman abruptly ended as the doors opened, Victoria Kuvira Brooke announcing her entree. This was more what Baldassar had in mind for royalty. Full of herself, flower peddels spread at her presence. Clearly thinking that she is the most important person in the room, all the eyes looking too her must satisfy her. This is how he imagined Royalty behaving, ''as is their right''.

She watched him tilt his head at her almost as if he was in disbelief. Was it that hard to believe that she would just hand him a book. While he was thinking she starting to adjust herself in her seat. "Well if that makes you unco-" flinched as the man flipped over the table, thinking that he was trying to attack suddenly realizing she was off the ground and put in a quite uncomfortable hug, her guards were about to unsheathe their swords but she managed to give them a gesture that she was fine.

Her cheeks pressed upon his still trying to collect what just occurred.
"Yes please Its only our first encounter might want to give time on that first." She said jokily as the grip seemed to get tighter from his excitement.'He thought I was an asshole? I just wanted to make a good entrance.' She thought. She didn't really think she was like one of them. Conceited, prideful yes bitchy, sometimes but not like them at least.

When the traveler began to whisper in her ear, she wondered why he was telling her this since they only just met but didn't say anything to interrupt him, only listening. When he mention Kae forcing him to do favour without keeping her promise she wondered why he didn't just give up on it if he knew she was probably never going to give it to him and Modahl didn't seem any better either. Though she didn't meet them yet she already had a bad impression but one thing he said caught her attention.
"That sounds awful, I always keep my promises so you have nothing to worry. Come to my library anytime. We get book from around the world every month so I'm sure you can find whatever your looking for there we might even have to elf book you seek. Umm... I would appreciate it if you put me down now. But you should tell me more of your endeavors sometime it seems very intriguing."

He set her down and he turned around to look at the guards and he raised his hand up in mock surrender before he chuckled a bit. He had noticed the vampire eyeing him earlier but that was the least of his concerns as he was now in a good mood and it would take a lot to ruin that for him. He just walked back over to the table and he hummed a little bit since he could just get a book now without having to fight or kill anyone and that pleased him quite a bit. He let out a sigh as he waved to Kae's parents and he knew they knew of him but he had done quite a few things for their daughter that may have directly affected the safety of their country. He decided he would get drunk tonight to celebrate the fact he had made a new acquaintance and she was quite nice.

"Oi, Mr vampire?I have not been to your lands in a long time but the last time I was there I was greeted fairly decently by one of your kind. How are things in your land? The last time I went they were pretty quiet but I didn't find what I was looking for. It was a real bummer but I hope you had safe travels here. Kae's kingdom has always been a pleasure to travel through even if she is a meanie" His voice held a light teasing tone and he actually liked Kae quite a bit. When he wasn't annoying her and she trying to get him put in jail, he had some interesting talks with her. Damian had seen most of the world..well rather he had been to every country and he had a vast knowledge of cultures and etc. He just lied by the beat of his own drum and came off as odd and disrespectful. "So what's your name anyways? I am Damian and come to realize I know quite a few famous people and I just met that Victoria -- She's so nice that I might be in love" He seemed to be swooning a little bit before he let out a little laugh and he leaned back as he waited for the remaining royals to show up and he decided to observe all of them carefully since he was the odd man out and honestly had no place in foreign affairs.

Victoria gasped for air as she was placed down as her servants were starting to adjust her outfit. "My queen are you alright?" Victoria look at him whilst she nodded. "Yes I'm fine just a human who is just excited about books. I wish everyone had such enthusiasm well not as intense but you understand what I mean." Charles chuckled at her comment watching the human go, he brought his attention back to her.

Victoria looked at him leaning close to him whispering
"How long do you have to stay here?" Charles whispered back "A weekend then we are free to return home and forget about the summit until next century." Victoria nodded at his statement before leaning back on her seat. She would talk to the elf king and queen but they seemed so preoccupied that she decided to wait until the time was right.

She looked upon the chancellor, counting up how many there were but she notice that
Eternal Smog wasn't present. She read about all of the other countries so she knew the general parts of them so she found it odd. "Charles what is the issue with eternal smog I do not see them present." Charles looked in their direction before saying "Eternal smog had a rebellion against Modahl, they pleaded recently so Modahl is currently deciding where he stands on the issue but rumour has it they might not be apart of his court." Victoria glanced upon them once more she knew for a fact that this summit opened her eyes on how the world needed to change and she was certainly the one to do it.

Baldassar puffed out some extra air trough his nose, hoping he could avoid talking with the human. He did not doubt that the vampiric scribes assigned to him would write it down, eventually for the Oldest Ones to read. ''Baldassar Haagen of the 29th generation.'' He slowly turned his head to face him, clearly not amused by his behavior. ''The land is well.'' 'Except for the crops dying, vampires going missing and the Oldest Ones handing away the artefacts of a long-lost vampire culture to other kingdoms to please them'. ''The travel here went quite well. No trouble before we entered the land of elves, and once we did there was an... Unofficial elvish escort.'' He said with a slight grin. He didn't mind the elves following them unannounced, only a poor host wouldn't keep track of her guests. ''If you miss it so, do come visit us. I'm sure you could find many interesting books and other adventures.''

Lips pressed together as her frown deepened, the woman remaining in her spot only a moment longer after he left before abruptly turning on her heel and walking off. Who was he to act as if he knew her? The whole conversation left her more irritable than before, if that was even possible. Well...no matter now, it was done and over with and she could finally resume her note taking. Careful not to make any more slip ups, Eirian finally reached the spot she initially targeted, this one in an equally unnoticeable section of the hall. She felt too exposed out there in the open and the woman much preferred a spot where she could see yet not be seen. Allowing herself to rest her back against the wall for a moment, a sigh escaped the elf's lips.

Luckily, it didn't appear as if much had changed during the short moment she was distracted but Eirian knew the importance a few short moments could make. As it was, even though her exchange with the emperor lasted a minute at most, there would still be a gap in the records-- a gap that she would have to explain later to anyone who might ask. With that in mind, her shoulders slumped briefly and another sigh escaped. She wouldn't be looking forward to explaining how she messed up. As soon as it appeared, her moment of consternation passed and she lifted herself from the wall, shoulders rigid and eyes sharp as she began to write again.
