I'm new to the boards, but not to RPing.
I really want to play pre-made characters I just created. PLEASE only reply if you are interested in writing against one of my pre-mades as your own character. I'm not interested in a plot that won't involve them. I created them now to write for a reason.
I only have a few rules: I believe in quality over quantity. I don't like one liners, or rambling novels about nothing. Just give me enough to respond to, and keep the RP moving, and I'll be happy. I do get in-depth about my characters thoughts/feelings/actions/surroundings but I try not to go beyond a few paragraphs at a time, because in my experience super long replies slow the RP down.
I will write MxM, MxF or FxF. HOWEVER, you will notice in character description each character has an orientation listed, that I will not change. Sorry, I'm picky about this. I like variety and only portraying one type of romance gets stale. I'm not just looking for romance, though, and want action/humor/drama and an actual plot line, otherwise it's just two people smooching and making angsty faces at each other, and that's just dull.
I will write secondary characters, but I won't double if that makes sense. One main character for us each to focus on. In my experience when you double, one character inevitably gets less attention paid because they aren't the writers favorite. So just pick your favorite character to play to begin with, and keep things fun.
I can reply almost every day, at least once or more, but RL happens and I may go a day or two without replying. Please don't harass me to respond if less than 48 hours have passed. Sometimes you just need to cool off and refresh so you don't get writer's block, or bored with the RP. If any more than three days pass, I'll send you a heads-up for how long I intend to be absent, or whether I can continue the RP.
I will write over boards, or messages. But PLEASE, PM me if you are interested, either way! I have a new account, and don't believe I can send PMs yet.
Nephele & Arnold

Name: Nephele Soarmount
Age: 18
Race: Human
Occupation: Gryphon Ranger (Gryphder)
Orientation: Only nests with men
Appearance: Taller than average, like most Gryphon riders, and growing gracefully into her willowy frame when she was all elbows and knees before. Her complexion is tanned from the sun and sky, with almond-shaped eyes framed by thick eyelashes, and a grayish-blue the color of a brewing storm. Her medium length raven black hair is perpetually ruffled by the wind or underneath a helmet and appears like it's never met a comb. Nephele's otherwise youthful skin is covered in all manner of scrapes and cuts, from being pecked at by Gryphon beaks or thrashed by talons throughout her years training as a Ranger. She has a pointed face and soft feminine features often obscured by her brusque rough-around-the-edges personality. She wears the drab gray flying cloak of the Rangers, perfect for camouflage when flying or on solid ground, and worn knee-high boots and gloves made of cockatrice scales. Dangling from the belt round her waist is a satchel with a variety of roguish weapons in her arsenal to defend herself when flying; poison darts, throwing dragon fang knives, small bombs infused with elemental magic, and a cyrix whistle for her to blow and summon the aid of any Gryphons or rogues nearby.
Bio: You can keep your flying pirate skyships, fancy airship dirigibles, or fearsome fire breathing dragons. Nephele is a Gryphder, otherwise known as a Gryphon Ranger. Gryphders never claim to ride or tame Gryphons, because their partnership is not about human dominance, but a lifelong bond between Ranger and Mount in an effort to protect the skies for both races. Gryphons and Rangers live together in a fortress called the Eyrie, an ancient stone temple carved into cliffs of enchanted floating mountains, where Rangers and Gryphons live, train, and assist new Recruits and Gryphon hatchlings. Earning the gray cloak, and being gifted with an egg from a Gryphon mother's nest, is turbulent and at times painfully brief. When a Ranger cadet has completed their training, they must determine their lifelong dedication and bravery to their future bonded mounts by stepping off an Eyrie cliff, and free falling. If a Gryphon Mother deems their bravery worthy, she'll swoops in to catch the diving Cadet on her back, or clutching them by her talons. Many cadets decided to take their fall too soon, and injured themselves irreparably out of arrogance, or even fell to their death.
Nephele has always been fearless, growing up on the desolate Shattered Islands, where once a season the men in her village were kidnapped, mated with against their will, and savagely ripped apart by vicious bloodthirsty Harpies (winged alluring sirens, half-witch, half-bird of prey). She lost her father, a brother and uncles to the Harpies, and was helpless as the ruling Empire did nothing to stop the brutal attacks the Shattered Islands were subject to, forgotten on the crumbling pieces of earth below the floating city-states and powerful wind magic of the Empyrean Empire. Harpies filled Nepehele with disgust for anything with wings, and imbued her with a fear of flying, but when a Gryphon Ranger came to her farming community looking for young plucky recruits, the then 15 year old had no choice but to swallow her hatred of avian beings. If being a Gryphder meant defending her people from Harpies and other predators, human and monster alike, plaguing the skies, then she had no choice but to accept fate.
Now, Nephele can't imagine life without the Eyrie, the Gryphons, her fellow Rangers and cadets, and most especially Arnold. Gryphon Rangers are supposed to be slick and covert, as easy to slip through as a cloud, but Nephele has a loud rambunctious personality. She can't stop at any port city without arm wresting the biggest brute there, or drinking the wind sailors under the table. She's charming despite her lack of finery, and even though her roots are on farmland, her soul now belongs to the skies.
Strengths: Ranger training (including hunting, tracking, subterfuge, poisons and herbs, navigation, astronomy, etc), swift and adept at throwing projectile weapons while on her mount, experienced in 'taming' (although she'd never dare call it such) wild Gryphons and other avian beasties/chimeras
Weaknesses: No magical abilities whatsoever beyond some items enchanted for her, and Arnold's defensive snow elemental magic. She can navigate the stormiest skies with ease on saddle back, but is clueless about operating an airship or the mechanics involved in piloting. Without her roguish bombs, poisons and throwing knives, and without Arnold to defend her, she can only scrap so much before becoming weak.
Nephele's Mount

Name: Arnold
Age: 2
Race: Gryphon/Owlyphon
Occupation: Gryphon Ranger Mount
Appearance: Arnold is still growing, but he's large for an Owlyphon, standing just below Nephele's shoulders. He is chubby, with a rotund belly full of feeder pellets, mountain goat meat and pies Nephele sneaks him from the Eyrie kitchens. His lower half resembles that of a snow leopard, white fluffy tufts of fur with black speckled spots and a puffy long tail which twitches with his emotions. His upper half is that of a barn owl, with a flat heart-shaped face, wide black eyes bright and blinking with intelligence, and wings slightly shorter than typical Gryphon's span, with dark brown plumage sprinkled with white. Arnold acts like more part-house cat than leopard, much preferring naps in tree branches to adventures, and is always skulking around the Eyrie grounds in search of scraps to eat, or leftover balls of string to play with from the quartermaster. In spite of Arnold's chubby clumsiness, goofy demeanor, gentleness toward strangers, he is fiercely protective over Nephele, and has thrashed the throats of attacking pirates and unscrupulous merchants during sky battles to ensure her safety. Nephele only saddles and leashes Arnold when they are on outside assignments. At Ranger Headquarters in the Eyrie, she lets him roam free.
Strengths: Arnold is a snow elemental and can summon snow or pounding hail if he has enough energy, he has viciously sharp talons and a beak which easily rips apart flesh within his grasp, superior apex predator vision and other abilities, minor psychic link with Nephele to help them communicate without speaking, and he is just damn cute
Weaknesses: Overweight and slower than average Gryphon, shorter wing-span and smaller due to Owl splicing, lazy and playful nature which can be difficult to temper during stressful moments, domesticated heritage (spoiled) and may not survive if ever released from Nephele into wild
Samuel Hicks

Name: Samuel Hicks
Age: Old enough
Race: Human Sorcerer
Occupation: Demonologist, Summoner-for-Hire
Orientation: Red-blooded lady lover
Appearance: Tall, slim, Caucasian American, broad-shouldered, messy sandy-brown hair, a cool blue stare that can burn into you like hell fire, permanent scruff. Most prominent feature is his prosthetic right arm. The limb is forged from rare alchemy metals, and engraved in runic spells and protective wards, with moving fingers capable of igniting magic. Leather dusters, fingerless gloves, Metal band t-shirts, worn blue jeans, and Doc Marten boots comprise his daily outfits. Even if he's facing a 12 foot Ifrit with flaming horns and a belly grumbling for mortal souls, Sam has a confident aura and swagger at all times, like the punk rock teenager he's still inside.
Bio: Sam is a consummate blue collar sorcerer. Don't ever call him a wizard; wizards are old wrinkled curmudgeons who would rather stick their noses in ancient dusty grimoires, than venture into the world and seek magic for themselves. He has experienced more than mages twice his age, but he doesn't have the fancy academic background to back up his arcane skills. Even so, magic schools occasionally invite him to instruct students in Demonology.
The instructions include specifics on classifying demons, their cultures and languages, protective wards and spells against them, closing demonic rifts/portals, and eventually how to exorcise them from human and other earthly hosts. Sam also teaches an advanced course in Summoning, but it's only open to a select few students who ace Demonology and are entrusted not to abuse Summoning magic to conjure demons and bind them to their will outside of class, or without permission. If students pass Summoning they are eventually granted Summoner's licenses, and are legally able to Summon lower level demons to assist them, with the promise that they'll free said demons back to their hell-dimension as soon as their task is finished.
Students like Sam, because while he's a tough teacher and difficult to impress, he regards everyone - fellow mages, students and instructors alike - with the same combination of blunt honesty and sarcasm. For his Demon Hunter background, Sam views demons with great reverence and admiration, seeing the beings as cosmic equals or even superiors, but never 'Gods' like some Summoners believe. He paid the price of reckless Summoning in his youth, and lost his arm and things other people can't see, as a result. He won't hesitate to kick the arse of a demon back to whatever hell dimension it crawled out from if it threatens one of his pupils or anyone in his care, however.
He is a passionate, literal hell-raiser, and has a reputation as a womanizer, but Sam always makes it known he can't be tethered to anything, not even this mortal plane.
Strengths: Alchemy-infused prosthetic arm which serves in place of a staff/wand as an extension of his power, scholarly knowledge of Demonoly, Master Summoner and Exorcist, astral and dimension hopping
Weaknesses: Restless from never remaining one place for long, his magic interferes with modern weapons/technology so he is stuck with magic as his only defense, lost some of his soul in exchange for power over demonic entities, knows he is living on borrowed time making so many deals with so many devils.
RP Ideas: I'd love to play him as a professor at a Mage University, and have a vague plot idea in mind where he recruits a capable student or other professor, to travel to Hades-like dimension with him and free a demon wrongly imprisoned there. He could romance a fellow teacher, maybe a demon/undead, or a student if they are at least in College.
Piper

Name: Calls herself Piper
Age: Ageless
Race: Unseelie Sidhe Fae (like an Elf)
Occupation: Busker by day, Unseelie Knight by night
Orientation: Just loves love
Appearance: A small wisp of a girl, with tawny skin, protuberant seaweed green eyes, tumbling brown hair which falls down her back, often pinned back by a crown of flowers, which conceal her pointed 'elf' ears. Doesn't look older than 18, but radiates a carefree wisdom typically found in elderly who are no longer afraid of dying. She wears a colorful assortment of secondhand skirts, tunics and dresses, and hates wearing shoes. Sometimes, her creeper male neighbors catch her prancing nude in her garden. Often seen with her Irish flute in tow, or crossbow strapped to her back, crafted from sacred Rowan bark, concealing elf arrows with cold iron tips. One piercing through a faerie's heart will undo their immortality, and make them vulnerable to death. Her crossbow is deemed Mortal Maker and was gifted to her by The Morrigan, the Celtic Goddess of War.
Bio: Like all Sidhe, behind Piper's innocent beauty, beats the heart of a trickster. She isn't as malicious as most of her kind, living among mortals has tampered her old disregard for humans. Still, she knows how to wrap mortals around her little finger, using her magical pipe and faerie glamour to lure even the most impoverished passerby's coin out of their pocket, and into her suitcase while she busks performing street music during the day. Her alluring music may be fae glamour, but her need to pay her rent is very real, because her second job as an Unseelie Knight doesn't pay much, and hiding in plain slight among mortal kind isn't as easy as it looks. For reasons that Piper is loathe to share, she was banished from the immortal paradise of the Seelie Court in Faerie, to the rotting gutters and stench of death. Now she's a lower-caste Unseelie, forced to live alongside humans in a burgeoning polluted technology world so different from her own.
Being an Unseelie Knight might not pay monetarily, but she undertook the position to arm herself with her 'Mortal Maker' crossbow, because throughout the years she's collected more enemies than songs. As a Knight, she must patrol thet Twilight hours in her city and glamour away the memories of any humans who see through Faerie veils, she's also sworn to help any struggling Unseelie fae who are weakened from the iron in human cities, report Seelie sightings in Unseelie territory to the ArchKnights, and represent faeries in supernatural councils or disputes. All work and no play makes Piper very dull, though; she has a wicked sense of humor, never lost her penchant for pranking, wordgames and talking her way around untruths without outright lying (which fae are incapable of doing), and is prone to fall in love one second and feud the next, more temperamental than Tinkerbell.
Strengths: Her legendary elf-arrow crossbow, enchanted pipe, basic faerie glamours and charm, immortal (for now)
Weaknesses: Cannot lie, unwitting wish granter/thrall of anyone who learns her real name, banished from Faerie realm and stuck on Earth
Plot ideas: Having to grant a wish to a mortal who saved her life somehow or learned her name, undertaking a 'fairy godmother' type role to human she has a crush on, showing the ropes to another fae or supernatural banished to Earth, or even preparing for a War where the Unseelie Court plans to seize Faerie back from Seelie.

Scruff

Name: Scruff 'The Lone Wolf' (cannot remember birth name)
Age: 20
Race: Human Werewolf (Omega)
Occupation: Shapeshifter Fighter
Orientation: Prefers Male Mates
Appearance: Average height, wiry muscular build, African American, russet-colored skin littered with scars and tattoos, thick black curling hair, deep set amber eyes, would be impossibly good looking with his strong jaw line, glass cutting cheekbones and full lips, but his nose is broad and broken and his posture is hunched over, as if trying to hide. His werewolf form is slightly larger than wolves found in nature, but small for a werewolf, with patched black fur where he's been bitten, clawed and savagely attacked by other werewolves and shifters, and even branded with silver. His style in human form is on the goth side; fishnets, tight leather bondage pants, buckled platform shoes, all black. It was punishment as an Omega to wear silver which weakened werewolves, but he still wears a silver septum piercing to remind him of his past, even though this dulls his sense of smell.
Bio: Among the ruling Packs, it's illegal to bite and transform humans without them first being Initiated into a Pack, and it's especially forbidden to bite an underage child/youth. So it was especially shocking to see the Western Moon Pack Alpha carrying eight year old Scruff in his arms, freshly ravaged from bites, after the Alpha rescued him from a stray werewolf attack. The rest of the Pack urged the Alpha to abandon the child, and leave him for dead before he transformed, but he ignored all of their pleas, and nursed the freshly turned pup back to health himself. Ten years later, and Scruff was still smaller and skinnier than other males, never quite accepted, the Pack Omega and punching bag who all others took their frustration and hunting practice out on. In ways that may be mentioned throughout the RP, Scruff was so tormented and abused that the Alpha's son took pity on him, and helped the Omega escape from the werewolves mountain range into the urban city sprawl. There, Scruff soon found himself fighting in underground supernatural rings, using his ability to shift at will to brawl other weres, shapeshifters and monsters for spectator's entertainment and coin. Because his body was used to being thoroughly chewed up, he held his own quickly and rose up in the ranks, his mysterious Omega disposition earning him the moniker 'The Lone Wolf.'
Now, the runt of the litter has warlocks and mafia members alike betting on him to win matches, but Scruff doesn't plan on remaining in the ring forever. He wants to return to his Pack, and show them his new vengeful strength, proving an Omega means independence - not weakness - and that you don't have to be Alpha to lead the Pack.
Strengths: Superior werewolf senses and strength, supernatural pain resistance, indomitable will and spirit, loyal to a fault
Weaknesses: Can't resist painful transformation at full moon, silver, desperately hungers for love and acceptance, gets traumatic flashbacks from werewolf attack as a child
Plot ideas: I'd love a M/M romance, maybe with a Warlock/Vampire who has seen him fight and wishes to 'own' him as their bodyguard or watchdog, or with the Alpha's son in an RP where Scruff returns to his Pack while old Alpha is dying because he wishes to claim Pack Leader status
