The town was rather pretty when it was cast in the warm low-light of the setting sun. Music could be heard starting up from the saloon, and people ambled almost lazily along, perpetuating the feeling to the lazy town, one caught somewhere between "out west" and "over yonder."
Felicia didn't mind it. It wasn't her favorite place to be, but it was all she had. Money was required to move, after all, and that was something she didn't have a lot of. Not yet, at least.
Dressed simply, her simple pink derby resting on her head to keep the sun out of her eyes, the ring on her finger glimmered as she walked. Her mind was elsewhere, focused on the papers she had to grade when she got home, on what she'd do for dinner that night and, more than that, if she could manage to go on a little adventure that evening.
Those thoughts, however, were cut off when she heard a little girl calling about something.
The school teacher paused, looking over her way curiously.
