  It's a new school year for the students of High School No.9, and this means a new batch of students must be inducted into the school's Alien Party for the sake of protecting those who attend. Your student is one of the lucky few chosen by a vote in their classroom! We will provide the necessary equipment needed for their duties as well as transportation home for any after school activities, so no expenditures will be needed from you. We hope to see your child blossom into a brave fighter!

  Warning: Despite the cute exterior, I would like to stress that this roleplay can and may get dark. Violence, Mental Health struggles, Character Death and frankly horrifying Aliens will be involved. There is not an age limit but please take this into consideration before expressing interest.
  This is a roleplay based around the anime/manga Alien Nine! You don't need to have watched or read Alien Nine to participate in this roleplay, all lore will be managed and described by yours truly and may deviate from the official story.
  
  Essentially you will be playing a student (aged 15-18) and their sentient Alien helmet called a "Borg" as they go through school under the extra-curricular program known as the "Alien Party". When aliens attack your school, you will be tasked with the job of capturing, detaining and caring for the creatures in order to protect the students within. Emphasis will be placed on the student's relationship with their teammates and the interactions/fights with aliens. Most fights will rely on your quick thinking and creative solutions rather than brute force, so don't feel daunted if you aren't much of a fight-roleplayer or would prefer to have a weaker character!
  
  I won't give too many details right now, but you will have the opportunity to get a new borg of a different variety if you so desire later on. On a mostly unrelated note, your character may die but regeneration is a possibility, it does come with side effects however.
  
  There will be In-Class, Afterschool and School Break periods.
  -In-Class will be rather short, your teacher(s) may give in-character lore through lessons or you will get a chance to briefly interact with your classmates in a school setting such as P.E. or Art Classes.
  -Afterschool will give you a chance to explore the surrounding area and spend time with your teammates off-campus, assuming you have defeated the alien of the day.
  -School Breaks will be long periods devoid of the In-Class segments. Often you will be transported to a separate location such as a resort or Inn to spend time with your allies and enjoy some downtime- ideally. It's not like aliens just ceased to exist.

  • As usual, no meta-gaming, god-modding, powerplay or extremely OP characters.
  • Length of posts should be around 2-3 paragraphs but shorter/longer posts are acceptable. One sentence posts and novellas are not permitted outside of special circumstances.
  • We go at a pace of about one post or more per week, if you need an extension you need to communicate with us.
  • LOTS OF OOC, the nature of this RP requires me to have frequent conversation with everyone to make sure everything flows smoothly. I'm very friendly if not a little awkward so please feel free to bombard me with questions and chatter! I'm a bit of a rambler so please excuse any lengthy posts.
  • BBC code posts not required but perfectly acceptable!
  • Drama, bigotry, in-fighting or general creepiness will just get you kicked, I'm not going to force myself or anyone else to deal with OOC tensions- IC drama and fighting is very much encouraged, however! Just remember to check in with the role-player before harassing their character lmao.

  The school will provide you with a set of all black roller-skates, however- you are allowed to bring in your own if you so desire. Leave this blank if you'll use the school-designated ones.

They are a general bulbous shape with winged apparatus, on each feather is a sort of long drill that can extend and move around to be used during combat or any way you may see fit. When placed on someone's head they adjust to the shape and cover the user's temples. I encourage you to be creative with your borg's design and usage! Go crazy! I only ask you make sure it stays in that sort of froggy shape, as there will be other borgs of different species that look vastly different. If you aren't keen on making your own feel free to use one from the show (all three's character turnarounds are included in the gallery). If you have any questions or need help, please ask! I don't bite ^u^
  Oh yeah, please note you won't have your borg from the get-go, you'll receive them from a teacher once you join the party.

Awight! If you're keen on joining I refined the character sheet in the "rules" section of this post- fill it out and DM it to me! I will keep the more complex version with all the deets on your character, and we'll make a simplified one for the general public to see. As the RP goes on and people learn about your character we'll fill back in the 'missing' bits.
(If you're going to insert it into BBCode, please do that after I confirm the sheet so I can do it quicker!)

You choose one strength and one weakness from the list, ideally it would tie into your characters story somehow (example, if their parents were callous to them they might have stronger perseverance from dealing with it but weaker resolve as their shaky relationship with their parents could be exploited- or if they were unruly and got into fights as a child they might have stronger power or agility and weaker perseverance for not putting up with school/authority) and if it's not completely obvious how it ties in, explaining how it does would be pog! So essentially the first option you explained, "pick from the list below that and then explain how their strength/weakness works for them" is how it works, there's no scale.

Clan affiliation will be discovered over the course of the RP, there will be a dedicated spot for it once the lore section is created! Just list N/A for now. :^D

Thanks for the clarification I'll get to working on my character as soon as I can - right now I'm thinking a transfer student because I have a character who's lowkey kinda chaotic but in a nonproblematic way (he loves to skateboard everywhere and runs into things on accident) that I really want to use :')) We'll see if I have any other Japanese characters I want to toss into the ring though

Aljfwofnowvj thanks!! :')) If I did decide to use him, then him skateboarding around wouldn't be a problem, would it? I actually am curious about how the rollerskates work too alckskk, do the characters carry them around with them constantly or are they kind of like, part of their borgs?

Sure! He can even use his skateboard instead of the roller-skates! The roller-skates are just external equipment, not apart of the borg, they're just so the students can move faster when fighting aliens. They usually only go on wheels when fighting aliens since it'd be a pain to be constantly rolling through school and daily life, unless the student wanted to go skating outside of a fighting setting like in your character's case! I really like the idea of a chaotic little guy always on his skateboard ^u^
There'd probably be a scene where the teacher tries to get him to wear skates but since he's more comfortable with the skateboard they just allow it, but I'm getting ahead of myself!
Typically they'd keep their skates in their backpack along with their uniform for fighting (uniform will be shown in-RP).

this is.......... honestly perfect. he's not constantly on his skateboard but he'd definitely feel more comfortable using it than rollerskates! it'd be fun if he like, tried to use them in a scene, and he just totally failed pffff. (he's not even that great of a skateboarder, he can't do many tricks, but he definitely would like skateboarding more than rollerskating haha!)
he'd just carry around his skateboard or let it hang off his backpack or something whenever he's not using it i think i definitely want to use him so i gotta write up a full backstory for him then i'll send his sheet over your way!!

also if he uses a skateboard then there could be a moment when he loses it and is in a sticky situation but i, too, am getting ahead of myself so :'))
