Ooopocalypse

Marceline heard bubblegum as she screamed but it was too late, she'd already launched herself from the ledge and was soaring down to the candy streets below. She lifted the family axe that she'd modified into a bass guitar high over her head and directed her body to land right above a shadow creature that was trying to crash it's way into starchy's home.

"Not today you ugly black mass!" She yelled as she curled her body in and brought the blade of her weapon down across the creature's neck, slicing it easily from it's body. The shadow seamed to disperse after the attack, whether that meant it was dead or not Marceline couldn't be sure. She looked into the house to see Starchy huddled against the wall. "Get to the castle, now!" She demanded.

Before the vampire queen could turn and face another one, she was suddenly pulled and thrown out of the entrance to Starchy's house. She screamed and tried to control herself in the air but she was spinning. One of the shadow creatures had grabbed hold of her back and threw her clean across the kingdom. She only stopped when her body crashed into one of the Candy towers. When her body hit the hard candy brick she gave a loud painful noise of all the wind being forced out of her. She blinked but her vision blurred and she winced as she grabbed for her bass and found it not at her side. She groaned and rolled over onto her knees and tried to lift herself but her body was nothing but in pain. She furrowed her eyebrows and peered out of the large hole her body made in the building to see two of the shadow creatures flying towards her. One of them with her bass axe in it's mouth.

Suddenly Marceline was filled with 1000 year old rage at the sight of this stupid black mass holding her weapon. How dare he take it from her so easily. Who in the world of Ooo did he think he was. Marceline's face twisted in anger as she suddenly flt her body taking control. Marceline barely made it out of the tower before she felt her legs stretch and grow and her face contort into that of a bat-like beast. "NO ONE....TAKES.... MY BASS!" She yelled and leaped towards the two shadow creatures who only for a second seemed to hesitate at the sudden difference in the woman's appearance. The first one flew at her face and almost dove right into it too if not for a quick swat from Marceline's large grotesque hand. The second one tried to attack lower, at her back and with a rueful hiss, Marceline grabbed the other with her free hand and squeezed it as hard as she can, causing it to pop and give her the axe bass back.

Fionna glared at the wicked Ice Queen, her rage and fear fully focused on the despicable witch. Whatever she had done, Fionna intended to find out and put an end to it; the best way to do so was to finish the evil creature once and for all, but...then something happened. The icy floor began to shake horridly underneath her feet, and the ceiling shook with the vibrations that echoed throughout the frost-ridden chamber. The ferocious quaking forced Fionna onto her knees, and she could feel the floor angling beneath her. Looking around, she saw a bizarre gray-and-black crown laying next to a collapsed blue man who possessed a flowing white beard. He looked...so similar to the Ice Queen. And that crown! It looked to be the same as the Witch's, but it was now dull and lifeless. Whatever had happened to it, the event was enough to cause the magic to completely disappear from the powerful and ancient relic. It was something Fionna never thought would happen.

As the rumbling increased, a massive spike of glacial ice fell from the ceiling and impaled the floor between her and the Ice Queen, splitting it and opening a wide chasm that extended far into the darkness below. Fionna's eyes widened at the sudden return to reality, and she stabbed her sword into the ice and gripped it to keep herself some-what steady. It was then that she heard the voice of a young male, and she turned in surprise to the direction of the voice. What she saw caused her to freeze and her fists clench. Before her was a blonde-haired boy similar to her age and encased in thick protective armor...but that was not what put her into shock; he was a Human. She was sure she was the last Human in Aaa...who was he? What was he doing here? It was then that his platform began to shatter and cave in, forcing him to leap to the edge of the chamber's mouth. Fionna nearly let out a cry of fear when she saw him struggle to pull himself over; when he did, she felt an odd feeling of relief. Why? She did not know this guy. More icicles continued to fall down around her, and she had to roll away to avoid one of them, watching as the deadly shard of ice smashed itself to pieces against the platform.

Dragging herself over to her sword, she withdrew it and tried to stand, managing to pick herself up and gain a some-what firm footing. Turning back to the boy, she could feel the platform beginning to break underneath her. A wave of terror filled her, and she looked at him in horror as the platform began to tip. He extended his hand out to her, shouting at the top of his lungs;
"JUMP! I GOTCHU!" At first, Fionna hesitated. Why should she trust him? She did not know him...and the same went for him. Why did he want to help her? While reason told her that she should not trust him, somewhere inside her she knew that she could. Gathering herself, she noticed the platform slowly tip towards the Human boy's direction; she had to time this right, otherwise she would fall into the abyss below. Forming together her strength and courage she waited...waited until the perfect moment, at which point she leaped from the platform and flew towards the boy. Time seemed to slow down for her as she drifted across the air, eventually landing roughly into his plate-covered arms. The force behind her made them slide back a bit on the ice, but they were not pushed too far. Looking back, Fionna's eyes centered on the Ice Queen, who stared back with an equally cold stare.

Fionna grimaced and made a silent promise to the Ice Queen;
"...We'll fight for real one day, Witch! I'll get you! You'll pay!" The Witch almost seemed to understand, a slightly wicked smile appearing on her elegant and beautiful face before she took to the air using the power of her crown. The icicles that were falling seemed to avoid the devilish sorceress entirely; they knew who their mistress was. With her expression of mirth quickly changing to dark anger, the Ice Queen summoned a few spikes of ice and launched them at Fionna and the boy, their icy points glittering against the failing light and the dark-tint inside them swirling with the Witch's evil energy. With a cry, Fionna pushed herself and the boy down to the floor, narrowly avoiding the spikes. Getting back onto her hands and knees, she attempted to stand, trying to pull the boy up with her. "Come on! We can't stay here...! This is her home, we can't fight her like this!"
