If Moralee can look like the old Queen, wouldn't she be able to disguise herself as a generic soldier as well in case something happens? :^)
A lot of guards, by the way. I have no idea how long Fae's live, but she's probably old enough to be your grandmother's mother if they live as long as I think.

That wouldn't be very smart of her. War isn't just about winning. If anything, she'd probably lose more. Moralee would have to support the entire population of Lightwood if she annexes it, first of all, and second of all the people of Lightwood would never accept her that way, if she goes so far to deny Soryn the access to the throne. Basically, she would have the Woods in shambles and, probably the most important thing, is that Browyn, and her people will probably dislike her intensely with her acting like a tyrann. So it's more trouble than it's worth, really.

They live for very long periods. I was sure about how long. The queens are very old but its doesnt really show. Also a Dark Fae could shape shift into a light fey if they had ability but their magic would give them away. They can only control darkness.

Because the balance is off. They are winning because Cora is not balanced therefore they have an advantage. You see, even Faust has an opposite in Lightwood somewhere. Like Soryn and Bowyn.
