Wait question what kind of weapons would the two warring fractions have. Based off the pictures one looks technology based and the other looks like anmore brutish and less technology based way?

Bwith sides when it comes to infantry weapons have similar strengths. The empire has basic AIs to run robots (not human intelligence but enough to have a dog like one (field trials coming up). The alliance has been shifting towards a new type of armor support (basic mechs field trials pending) as for the power armor the empire has basic cloaking for the special forces but the alliance has more power armor so corporals also get them. Also for the pictures that was the common alliance trooper but the picture for the empire that looks more bruteish is an empire penal battalion, they either get leftovers, outdated gear, or scavenge it.

And is there a type of armor that grants basic flight like hovering and takeoff?

Both sides special forces power armor acts like titanfall pilot armor. But the hovering no but it can boot a jump or if your on a wall fire its little thrusters so you appear to be hanging there
