OOC

@eclipsehowls

You should probably wait for the other two to post before continuing onward. That way everybody can get their intro post in without wondering what's going on.

I'm not going to be on for until tonight because I'm going to the Pumpkin Show in Circleville, which I haven't been there since I was a teenager so it will be nice.

Friday I won't be on, I'm going to the Columbus Zoo with my mother and probably my teen sister.

Just so my absence is explained ahead of time.

As of right now, October 27th @ 2PM I have an appointment to see how well my wound has healed from getting one mole taken off yesterday and if so, then might do the other one on that day.

So tag me if I am needed.  As you guys know, Robin is now in Jubilife City.    Assuming Lunatic and Jinx do their introductions in the meantime.

Speaking of which...

I know I said there are priorities that come before roleplaying, but it's self evident that one of us, i.e. a certain @LunaticHigh has been absent since Sunday. Not sure if she's forgotten or if she's gotten in trouble, but I thought that should be mentioned. It won't really change anything in all honesty. Also, @Jinx I know I said to take your time and not rush it, so if there's anything you need help with just let me know. The others and I would like to post, but for the sake of those who haven't yet; we can't. Not sure if this comes off as rude and I'm mainly stating this because that's not my intention. I just want to remind those who haven't posted in case they forgot.

Bought a hunting knife, which I didn't realize until I had purchased it and the sale lady brought one out for purchase and then took the cover off to make sure it was the right one.  The sheath containing the knife is a fucking dragon and two other dragons as well.   It's stainless steel.    I'll upload a picture later of it.  Cost me $30.00.  Got this at the Pumpkin Show today.

Just left the Star Wars RP I was in because it was all over the place.   No actual plot to it, everyone did their own thing, no GM to monitor or guide things along.  Plus I hadn't had anything to do in a while there, given my character is a dark acolyte for the Sith.

Anyway, here is my hunting knife (ignore the watermark):

I haven't tried drawing the knife out yet to look at the blade.  I don't have any practice with weapons, though I want to learn archery and  Haidong Gumdo as well as Tai Chi eventually.  The watermark is automatically added to my pictures and drawings.  I realize it doesn't look like stainless steel but it's really light.  I thought the sheath was of silver when I bought it but the light in my room isn't good at all.

Yay, a fellow martial artist and weapon fan!

Yeah.  I was surprised that Tai Chi has different weapons you can use in that class.   I tried Karate as a kid but didn't get very far in that thanks to moving maybe three months after and never picked it up again, of course it was at the YMCA where I was taking Karate.     Meditation is also something I would like to make a part of my life as well.

Oh yeah Tai Chi has just as many weapons as Kung Fu, there's a reason they're often taught together. You won't find much stress placed on meditation in karate. It's much more militarized than Kung Fu. I myself meditate quite frequently.

Also I posted, can we please maybe move along?

Yeah, the thing that attracted me to Tai Chi was that I've read it can be good for relieving and managing stress.  I think I read something about how the water nation in Avatar the Last Airbender's fighting style is based off of Tai Chi (or it might be the Air Nation), but each nation is based on a particular martial arts fighting style which I found interesting.

@A Mysterious Figure May as well make a second post.

I'll have Robin heading towards the Pokemon Center then.

Water tribe(s) but yes, water bending is rooted in Tai Chi Quan. They do a lot of moves I've practiced in real like such as part the horse's mane or just the basic push and pull. (Which you then add the turn to.) Tai Chi is what's called a soft style but makes the most out of soft power, making an open hand push more effective than a punch to the gut. The Air Nomads' airbending comes from Baguazhang. Translated as "circle walking" ba gua places a lot of emphasis on re positioning and attacking and defending from different angles.

but each nation is based on a particular martial arts fighting style which I found interesting.

Rounding out these is Eartbending coming from Hung Gar and finally Firebending from Northern Shaolin. The former all about heavy rooting and the ladder on more acrobatic kicks. You can probably tell just from the descriptions why they were chosen to match their element.

Funny enough but just today my Sifu and I were talking about the difference between our style of Kung Fu versus Hung Gar.

Yeah I haven't read the page I found where the information about the nations/water tribes in relation to the different martial arts techniques they are based upon in a while.  So thanks for the info.  @Steel Accord

Of course. I can tell you from first hand experience though. Of all of them, my style is closest to fire bending, Wah Lum being a northern style with a lit of kicks and acrobatics as opposed to the southern style hung gar.

@eclipsehowls Okay hold up. How am I supposed to respond to that? I've had trouble like this in other RPs. Where people say multiple statements or questions in the same post. It doesn't exactly match the natural flow of conversation. People talk back and forth, make a statement, respond to a statement, A,B,A,B,. If I made three separate statements and asked two questions of another person, they'd probably stop me halfway through and say, "hold up man! That's a lot to take in. One at a time please."

Sorry, I end up typing a lot and used to lots of questions being asked and answered in other RP's I've been in.  You could just head into the Pokemon Center, deciding she's annoying or just answer about hunting legendaries.  @Steel Accord

So far everything seems to be going nicely, so keep up the good work. I'm not sure as to the status of our 'leader' and I don't want to be that person who decides to assume control, so... Yeah. Anyways, I might post today depending on whether or not I can actually post something lengthy and detailed from this small phone of mine.

Shit shit shit...... Right umm, sorry, sorry.... Works been a bust, and school has been a little rough, you guys can post all you want. Ill find some time to post either during the day or tonight....

That's okay Mysteriouss.

Robin's going to be going alone on her journey.  I left another RP because I can't write first-person, and they even wanted the character sheet in first person as well.

I swear if this dies I'm fucking done.  I'll stick to blogging not that anyone reads those either.  Hopefully I can get out this weekend with my dog and walk around a local park.  Hard to find anywhere that allows dogs to walk with their humans.  @A Mysterious Figure
