Nathan was fired, but rehired once the entire situation was sorted out and the audio from a camera nearby revealed he was attacked by some unknown force. The camera's video footage was not viewed by Nathan's request. You sneaky, meddling teens were this close (AKA the possibility wasn't considered up until as you're reading this) to getting totally busted.

@FrostFire I am going to do something which will steal one hour 10 - 15 minutes or something. Sooo... When you said... "We arrived on board, and stepped out of the hatch..." you mean Blue Bird's hatch? Because to gain access to the Battle cruiser you may need to actually put the ship inside the hangar. Since well... they don't have hatches for smaller ships, only for bigger ones which is at the top of the ship itself...
