OOC

I imagine that we're all at the cusp of generating our characters. I just want to go ahead and clarify things before I fully dive in.


So from the synopsis, it sounds as if monsters are fairly unknown/reviled among the general public, correct? That's what I was hoping for; gives an extra angle to squeeze drama out of.


Do we have an idea of how far along our band is? I assume we're not international super stars, but I also get the feeling that we're not prepubescents, timidly plucking at broken string's in our mom's basement.


I'm going to go ahead and start writing up my character, I just wanted to post my big questions out in the open, so we can sort of shape the discussion together. Please don't hesitate to chime in on my character once it's fleshed out. I'd hate to monopolize the direction of the roleplay. I look forward to seeing you all, in and out of character. This will be a pleasure!

1) Yes, their existence is not widely known


2)We already got our first few gigs, starting to really amp it up from there

Well, for me, I just started with a core character struggle I wanted to work with, and it branched out from there. My sort of, primer idea was "Disgusted with yourself" and the character just spiraled out from there, and I latched onto that particular monster to represent unwanted facets of identity.


So, your immediate thoughts were vampire or fallen angel. What about those archetypes jumps out at you that you want to explore?

Well i want my character to be very confident in who she is. She had already had excepted the fact that


she couldn't change who she was, so she just embraces it
 
if your character has already accepted the fact that they can't change who they are, you have lots of avenues to explore that through! Perhaps a fallen angel who has made peace with the fact that they have upset God in someway? A Vampire who has overcome the initial fear of becoming a creature of the night? Just take hold of a little idea and run with it! I can't wait to see your character!

Yeah, and I'd recommend giving our current participants a little poke. The lack of characters posted so far makes it look a little desolate here.

Rythm guitar and songwriter Vampire coming up.


Beware though, she might not bite but got some nasty attitude problems.

Ah, it warms the cockles of my heart to see so many wonderful characters populating our band! So, I know that we're probably waiting for more folks to cobble their stuff together, but should we start figuring out what we know about the band as a group? Or is that being improvisationally decided during play? Regardless, we're shaped by musical talents available, and right now we have a pretty average mix.


Also, @Vampunk, I've got the feeling that you're leaning towards a punk band. =p I am in complete support of this.

And of course the role that I was going to ask if it was available got claimed. Oh well, guess I'll go with one of the guitar roles.
 
What role got scooped up? A lot of bands rotate certain duties out, you know, not the same singer on every song, rhythm guitar takes lead for a song, etc. And of course, we can channel that into inter band conflict!

Drummer, a role that tends to be fairly consistent. But this character could fit the guitarist role too.
 
Very nicely fleshed out character there, great work with her!


So, when should what sort of stage will we be setting for the initial roleplay? I'm excited to see things bloom. We should also start fighting over our band name =p
 
Hello! :D


Before I made my character, is there a possibility that my character could be an outsider to either want to be in the band but have to gain their trust or someone who is looking for a scoop to gain a headline in the newspaper? Just something to stir up trouble :P It's completely fine if not. I was just asking before I stake my character. :)
 
now i feel like bit of a jerk for snatching away that role, haa! ;v;
but alya looks super good though (gotta love fire, let it b u r n)


that aside - got my trashy boy up, probably has a lot of mistakes but i'll fix 'em up later - i've been staring at that thing for too long now!


also about history - unless it's obligatory i'd rather tell it through the rp! c:
