[OOC thread] The azure tea house [Creation is your oyster]

I apologize for the silence.

I've been busy in real life, new job and interviews for jobs as well as being slightly sick. And since I didn't want to just post a crap scene start. -_- ;

I'll try to get a new scene up soon.

It's nothing, I'm not forcing you to ST at gunpoint  Just dropping a word from time to time does a great deal to alleviate fears that an enjoyable game might come to a slow torturous end...

I hope your life gets less hectic and your health improves :)

*jumps on Haku and activates Affectious Welcome Hug Methodology*

Nice to have you back :)

On the other hand, it might be appropriate to PM/email the other players about your return. Some have not logged in in some time.

It's nothing. As long as you don't devote much more attention to another game on the board :P

Personally, I am all for speeding to the next stage of our journey. If people are interested in joining the game, now might be the time

It's allright. Now would be a good time for recruiting, too ;) I wonder if Mei and danakir are still with us.

Hi folks. The Tomb game collapsed and Haku graciously invited me to join this game. I hope we'll get along. :)

I plan to read through everything here before making my character, and I've never made a dragonblooded before, so I'll be a tad slow in getting started. Sorry. Is there anything especially important that I should keep in mind, or particular party roles that need to be filled?

I don't think any of us made their characters with a 'party role' in mind, only thinking of how we would have fun playing him/her.

If you want to get specific, I'm a sorcerer with a strong summoning bent (having access to both Summon Elemental and Demon of the First Circle) and a potential martial development (being Fire-Aspected). Misora also seems the scholarly type. So a combat build would complete us. Either Immaculate monk or Legion officer on leave.

But never forget rule 1: have fun. Try finding a character concept that suits you.

And you should skim through the errata for Dragon-Blooded Charms. Some cheese has been nerfed, but globally the DBs are much more elegant and efficient than before.

Welcome aboard, by the way :)

Progress made: Read the OOC thread

Still to do: Read Act 1, Act 2, Make Character.

Commentary:

Ooh, saucy love triangles, massages, and sex. How fun.

Questions:

The original brotherhood has already departed, so should I be thinking of ways to write his arrival out as I'm reading the acts?

Well... if you can get a character fast enough... I can intro you as a dragonblooded dynast who was in the city when the massive storm went by...

Putting this here so that when my laptop inevitably overheats and shuts down it's not lost

Character Idea so far: Cynis Telega, Fire Aspected Warrior

Born: in Cherak to House Cynis parents

Childhood: All the training and tutoring expected of a dynast, spent free time slipping away from nurses and tutors to wander the dangerous streets of Cherak, usually returning home beaten and battered by the denizens of the harsh streets, and then beaten again by his teachers for his disobedience. He continues to escape whenever the chance is given, desperately trying to awaken the Dragon Blood by heart-pounding danger and the pain of combat and discipline.

Primary School: Shipped away to the blessed Isles for his further eductation. Exalts during his 15th year, and is allowed to stay and enroll in a secondary school rather than return home.

Secondary School: Enrolled by his parents in the House of Bells (War 3, Presence 3) to much confusion from other members of house Cynis. Rumor circulates that Cynis Yorake, a minor member of the hosue, forced his enrollment there in an attempt to groom an enforcer and warrior for his use to defeat the crime lord "Red-Fist" Hayoo in the brutal gang warfare occuring in the District of Glittering Smoke.

Graduation: Returning to Cherak, he was welcome back with opened arms and fully entwined in the lascivious parties of Cynis, lost for weeks in a haze of drugs and sex. He was tattoo'd heavily in the style of Yorake's enforcers, and then gently ushered out of Cherak again, encouraged to do the wandering and adventuring expected of young Dynasts. Setting out by boat, the sudden and intense storm forced him to land at Port Calin, where his adventure may fully begin. . .

Any critiques or input welcome since I'm still in the conceptual phase.
