Fantasy (OOC) 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 (A Cyberpunk Urban Fantasy)

Tbh I think we have enough groundwork to get started, let’s whip up some starting points!
I’d like to start Allen off in the cafe for ease’s sake.
I'll have my character doing a run. He's quite unfit and wants to change that haha. So people might see this rather red-faced bearded guy lightly jogging down the street. Hating every moment but trying to convince himself that it's worth it.

Megilagor Megilagor BuggaBoo BuggaBoo NanLia NanLia
That is the correct thread, I just went ahead and cleaned it out. Meg, would you like to go first so you can set the scene at the cafe?
And Nan, I know you said you could have your character jogging by but you also mentioned it’d feel out of character for your wolfie to enter the cafe as a patron. Do you feel that there are other satisfactory reasons to get him involved with the scene or would you like some help brainstorming? Perhaps he could be searching for a job?

I was planning on starting with my character on his run and then stopping at the cafe to get a bottle of water.

Hello, I posted in the Int Check a while ago, but I wasn't sure if I could join or not lol I was posts below mine saying it was still open, so I wanted to check if I could pitch my OCs

it's up to toxification, but I think it should be fine. We haven't started yet
I have two charas I'd like to pitch, though I'll probably do some more reading just to get a feel for the tone while I wait lol unless you'd prefer I post concepts and just wait to see if toxification approves them

I think what is going to happen is that we're going to get something started, and maybe your characters can hop in a little later. This is toxic's rp so I don't want to speak for anything.

Will do boss.
But after work since im on my last break for the day right now and only 4/5 more hours of work.
Also will post peruns bio when i get back since i have it saved on my pc.

Yeah of course lol I'll just read in the meantime
Hi! So thinkin thre best thing to do to start is to answer the questions in the OP and post them here. It's kinda like the boss' formal way of asking for concepts at least i think so anyways lol

Mk, got it lol

@Knight boi @GirlOnMarz @Master of Lava BuggaBoo BuggaBoo

Here is a place for y’all to plot while i set everything else up

Hey everyone!
I have a few questions I want to ask everyone so that we can all get what we want out of this concept and get some plots going.
No pressure to answer any or all of them!
  1. What plot ideas do you have?
  2. Do you have any worldbuilding ideas or questions?
  3. What kinds of threads would you like to do? (Slice of life, romance, dramatic, fluff, platonic, dark, etc)
  4. What kind of relationship dynamics do you want to play out?

1. My plot ideas rely heavily on what I can/can't do in here. Ideally, I'd like to make a human mage as kind of a maternal figure/patron for the civil rights movement. I would also like to know how religion fits into this world, since I've noticed that a more than one chara has angel/demon relations. I have charas that I have spent a lot of time developing and would like to include, but given that one of them has a very isolated childhood, it may be difficult for me to work in any pre-existing history with other PCs. The other, however, is well versed and well traveled with lots of connections, so she could easily be placed just about anywhere. My other chara is not related to demons in any way, but he and his people are often believed to be descendent of them, despite scholarly proof that their development is entirely evolution based and nothing inherently supernatural. His only special abilities are some limited magic the mage taught him, sensitive hearing with cranial horns, and a small tail for balance. Everything else is surface level and cosmetic, but he is still treated as supernatural bc of his appearance and faces unique challenges with mental issues and mutism. Whether I use one or both of my charas will depend on what parameters I can act within.

2. I'm an avid FFXIV player (the MMO version), and Final Fantasy influences my charas heavily. No fandom/canon charas, everything's OC, but I do tend to lean on their concepts. I'd like to know where the boundary/rules are for that, and if there's specific mechanics in place for how magic works in this world, especially given its tech.

3. I'm good with most of everything. I will say theres a lot of TW in both of my charas backstories but moreso in my mute one's, since he suffered abuse more aligning with straight torture from the hands of a religious zealot testing new ways to 'cure' him of 'possession'. This prolonged abuse made him too much a coward to join the movement at first, but he hates seeing people in pain, so he could develop some courage enough to join in on that. My mage, however, is Chaotic Good in a bottle and capricious as the fae without actually being one so she's 100% down to get into some trouble (and likely thinks that some trouble is just what her shy apprentice needs to get out of his shell). I'm hesitant to do romance, since I'm still burnt out on that, but I could do most of everything else. Really looking more towards slice of life for one, activism for the other, but they're interchangeable in that regard lol

4. My mage OC can't romantically love anyone but the open road, I'm sorry she's just like this lol she's more likely to adopt someone than date them. She is more likely to do one night stands than anything. My mute one is more sensitive and open to bonding, but it'll take time for him to warm up, and he's very monogamous, likely to be possessive if romantically involved. Like I said, I'm a little burnt out on romance, but I live for 'found family' concepts and good friendship dynamics, so I'd like to develop that part of their charas more instead. My mage OC is a little old lady who likes to collect people instead of knickknacks or kittens, so do with that what you will; while the other is fiercely protective of those he gets close to in order to atone for past mistakes. Both are nosy and might be a little too into your business, but the mute one can at least promise to have your interests at heart. The mage cannot lol she's just a terrible gossip, I'm afraid.

I love what you’re bringing to the table. We have not fleshed our religion and magic whatsoever; Allen is a magical character but his β€œpowers” are derived from a curse, meaning his powers are more of an anomaly than an example of magic in this world.
Also, just to let y’all know, I am gonna be hella hands off with lore decisions because I don’t want to necessarily have final say on everything about this canon. As long as everyone feels that the lore is reasonably cohesive and accommodates all of us I am fine with it; You are free to pitch whatever lore ideas and decide via consensus what will go. I’m just here to make sure everybody’s perspective is accounted for and write the lore pages once we’ve fleshed everything out.
I also know nothing about final fantasy but I’d be interested to see what elements from that canon you’d like to infuse! I don’t necessarily want there to be outright final fantasy elements (like, canon characters and entities) but I’d be fine with reskinning elements from the series for our roleplay (basing entities/plots/archs off of final fantasy stuff but tweaking it so it doesn’t feel out of place)

I had an idea about werewolves generally that I brought up previously. I'll bring it up again to see what you might think. Classical werewolves are the ones we immediately think of when they're brought up, and then there are others who are a more mutated form of werewolf. Perhaps classical ones are more dangerous, unpredictable (with the exception of full moons when werewolf activity is always expected) as their transformations could be triggered when under intense stress and anger which could happen anytime. So a classical werewolf's very existence would be considered a danger to society, even if said werewolf has their life organised and have prepared themselves (going into a deep forest, locking themselves up somewhere, distracting the werewolf with food to keep it occupied). They cannot control themselves during transformations whereas more developed werewolves have a better time controlling themselves and can shift whenever they want to shift to the point where they might as well be considered more shapeshifter than werewolf. No one would be in any immediate danger from that kind but would be around a classical werewolf. What a person is turned into is a matter of luck.

With the definitions I was taught the first example is the classic cause werewolves, as in made by a curse for example. one of your ancestors was cursed and now the blood carries it, or the most often cause of classical werewolves in Europe and USA were witches for it was believed werewolves were their unwilling protectors.

The latter tho could be described as a natural werewolf since they were born with it their wolf and human selves are usually one and the same or only slightly different.

The easiest way to clarify it would be the former is a cursed werewolf, the latter is a blessed werewolf.

I take it this is aimed a me lol. K so the way I view religion in this RP is 'please-give-hella-wiggle-around-around it'. I'm not touching any stance on religion and jus gunna be dealing with/focussed on the more social/political bad stuff fallout and the dystopian setting. I imagine mega-corps are the new gods here anyways lol

So the way I done it is that for the demon characters, somewhere along the way their ancestors have made a pact with an off-world entity from "Hell" for some kind of personal gain. Some descendant is marked and becomes a vessel for the demon to enter. And now it manifests in physical fomr coming to claim what is owed: souls. So two charries are 1st cousins and are marked cuz of bloodline. One charrie, Halo/Damage embraces it to use its power help 'her kind' in her own wayy. While the other, Ronni/Gripper has it locked up and uses its power to 'help' her kind in her own way.

But if there is a "hell" then there must be a "heaven" cuz why not right? So that's where the angel NPC, Okscana comes in. She is born with 'Radiance;' a power that is passed through the lineage b/c somewhere alont the way an off-world entity from "Heaven" has rewarded their ancestors and so everyone down the line gets some kinda minor 'not-evil' supernatural powers. BUT!! Then somewhere along the lines someone reeeeeeeealllllly gets the Radiance and manifests physical traits and magical ablilities as a classical warrior-angel-from-heaven!! But Oxi denies it in full and is trying to lead a normal life.

AND!! I also wanted to give wiggle room for 'Angels in the Earth,' tack too. Basically the power of Gaia, Earth mother and all that. So like for Ronni, her "Radiance power" comes from a rock made from 'holy' centre of the earth-ish material.

Lolwut. Its all BS and open to change at the end of the day anywaaaaaaysssss...

i'm in this more for the slice of life in 'cyberpunk counter culture screw the man, man' than the whole mechanics of powers working within a framework tbh. That's why my girlies are so overpowered. It's kinda like what the threat of life-altering-violence the gun can do is more important to me than how the gun works... well, in this RP anyways and if that makes any sense lol.

And my sources for inpiration are shows like: Ghost Rider/AoS, Venom, Dredd, X-men, Love/Death/Robots, Atomic Blonde, Dark Mirror, Priest, Alita, Elysium, Robocop, Hotel Artemis... and more!!

But like the boss has the tech setup like this so that's why I took the whole 'curing supernaturals through mind-effery' angle for my charries.

Okay, well I suppose mine would be a cursed werewolf. But I'm just working with definitions that may occur within the context of the RP, unless of course, the story is still within our world so the US and the UK exist etc. There's the Wolfman/Being Human werewolf (that I see as the traditional werewolf you might see in popular culture) where the victim has no choice but to transform, and then there's the Twilight werewolf where they can shift whenever they desire - a 'werewolf' that is clearly a different, and I'd say a more evolved, version. I put werewolf in inverted commas, but it seems like those types of werewolves would be better off being called shapeshifters who can turn into wolves.

To me, 'classical werewolf' also just sounds a little better in an official government database.

With my character, he could go with both. He can do a bit of slice of life and the other one, but he's more likely to go for the former which might then end up with him being dragged into the other thing somehow.

ok gotta make myself some food and take a shower, then a post will be brewing like a witch brews her potions.
It would be in two segments, one general look of the area around and in the cafe, and Peruns post.
The rooms upstairs will be left for later, unless Alen wants to start in his room.
