Don’t worry about the personality. I’ll make sure he follows orders from the higher ups but he might not as much from his teammates as he likes to do his own thing. He might not be happy with a certain mission but he won’t push losing his job over it. Sorry if that concerned you!Fill
Bit confused by the PC pic. O_o;;; Half-demons wouldn’t really have that as an appearance, it’s a mix of human and demon features. Demons and humans neither have chainsaws for genetics. XD
His age must be at least 21 (physical and mental).
His personality is also worrisome since it seems opposite of useful for an agent who will ignore orders just because they are orders.
Overall, this reads more like something that would fit as a custom race - such as a type of chainsaw golem perhaps - rather than a half-demon.
Mmm, I suppose that's true for salt, though I don't know much of classical folklore that doesn't have the iron thing. Could I like, make salt a boggart specific weakness, and iron a regional fae weakness if not a universal one? Like, say, specifically the Irish Fae (I guess I'd call them Sidhe Fae even though that's not really what a Sidhe is but whatever), rather than the Seelie and Unseelie Fae of Scotland or something.

also, sorry about the age thing! I didn’t know that was a rule! I must have missed it! Thanks for letting me know!
As for the race thing, I’ll make him a half human/half custom race or something like that. Probably half yokai since they tend to have shapeshifter/object like qualities to them as in they can take the appearance of an object. (Look them up as I have no idea how to accurately explain them over text lol). I’ll change up his bio a bit to fit these small yet necessary changes. It’ll be a bit of a pain but I should have it all done by tonight. Thanks again for the heads up!
Edit: quick question. If I make the half human half yokai thing, does that mean I own both yokai and the human hybrids or just the hybrids? I don’t care for owning the yokai concept but if I do, then that is alright I guess.
better have packed more sedativesPoor, poor Jean. Flights are standard mode of transportation. XD
Ah, thanks for the correction. It's been forever since I did any reading on Japanese folklore. @_@ One of the more interesting kind of Humanities classes I took, lol. >_>;;; Embarrassing but how are Oni exactly define because fuck if anime just tosses out youkai, oni, and even akuma interchangeably. Though that perhaps is just bad translation subtitles since even with my weakass understanding of Japanese I blink at some translation choices.'ello 'ello, tis I, japanese folklore enthusiast just here to add on some things- in normal folklore, tsukumogami aren't 'possessed'. Rather, they are items that gain sentience and animation due to a myriad of different possible reasons, though the most common belief is that it lived in service for a 100 years and was gifted a soul.
Bakemono is indeed a wide term used for almost anything under the sun that has the ability to shapeshift, or sometimes things that don't even shapeshift, being used to describe generic monsters that look slightly human in appearance
I redid it, albeit a bit hastily, but it should be good and work. I'm not comfortable with owning a whole concept so if anyone else uses a similar monster or something they can just follow, idk, wikipedia or the information you guys laid out, and I left him to be half-human since I wanted there to be reasons down the road for why he has trouble with his abilities and his appearance other than "oh he looks like that just because blah blah blah monster thingy blah blah blah or he is rank D blah blah blah". add a bit more to the pot. i left things vague for the chainsaw tsukumogami and focused on the issues and limits he has specifically. if someone else decides to utilize a similar or same species, they can put the serious guidelines or whatever lol. i'm a more character focused writer than a concept one.(filler so the reply thing works)

I-I don't want to even know how a human has sex with a chainsaw... just sayin' XD (had to make the joke).I redid it, albeit a bit hastily, but it should be good and work. Ah, thanks for the explanation. I mostly learned my minimal Japanese from watching too much anime, but the problem arises in how the content is translated and so many words are used interchangeably it seems in regards to the supernatural stuff. How to Keep a Mummy, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and then Afterlife Inn Cooking all have Oni of different varieties lol.Allow me to explain
Youkai is the generic term for anything supernatural, which includes the aforementioned Oni and tsukumogami.
Oni are horned demons. That's it. However, they are closer to the ogres in Western folklore, more so than their demons, since they don't usually exhibit any abilities outside of being big, angry, and scary. They're oftentimes depicted drunk or have an affinity for good alcohol, but this is more attributed to the story of Shuten-doji.
Akuma is simply a word for 'demon'. There's no folklore for that. It's just a word, in the same way you might call someone 'evil'.
It depends really. Telekinesis could do similar things, pushing someone down ("heavy gravity"), levitation ("light gravity"), push away, pull towards, etc. Based on a peek at Gravity Manipulation things this kinda stuff would be no-go "generate miniature black holes to compress objects into oblivion. They can repel and attract matter and energy regardless of its mass".I've come across this roleplay, and I want to join. I'm thinking of basically a gravity manipulating magician. It'll be restricted in quite a few ways, but I wanted to ask: Is gravity manipulation considered reality-warping?
Well, it's more of a case of one word being proliferated out into different cultures. The "Fae" even in Britain, Ireland, and Scotland vary and contradict one another wildly. It's a consequence, I assume, of Britain's rampant cultural and colonial expansion. If the Brits had gotten their hands on Japan, I'm pretty sure people would be calling the Youkai Fae too. When I say 'Fae', I mean mostly British interpretations of them, with a bit of the more interesting stuff for the Scots mixed in, so I suppose I should've been clearer on that. Tl;dr: That's chill, I've adjusted it to have bogg be a 'Sidhe Fae', and said they're a branch of Fae specifically from Ireland, if that's alright.Fae includes creatures not in Western Lore which from my understanding have totally different weaknesses. It's just European are the most familiar compared to African or Oceania. It's why for custom races I encourage to avoid using a racial name that can include a large variety of species. Heck, elves could fall under Fae and therefore be weak to iron, but the elves here are written as their own specific 'fae' or 'fantastical' race.
If you want it to be regional you can, but I honestly as a GM will allow someone to ignore an iron weakness if they go with a European Fae race if they don't want that as a weakness since I myself made it where Elves aren't weak to iron.
Well, this is going to be, interesting. I've always had the boggart associated with the Unseelie Court, rather than the Seelie Court. I'm unfamiliar with them actually being associated with the Sidhe in general.Well, it's more of a case of one word being proliferated out into different cultures. I've really just taken the stuff i found more interesting from irish, british and Scottish folklore in general. Creative liberties and notwhat. I was never that into the seelie and unseelie stuff. Mentions of the sidhe are also just 'in name only', since it sounds better than irish fae or whatever lmao.Well, this is going to be, interesting. Sorry for the delay. Got news about COVID-19 in my area, basically wide alert about someone being positive and therefore the fun that goes with such a discovery. Then being stuck in broken Google Meets. Hours and hours.
