So, for Unscheduled Absences (meaning those absences that you dont tell me about in advance)
After 24 hours I begin running your character as an npc. After 7 days of npc life your character is either sent off on another mission or killed in brutally graphic amazingness.
If your absence was due to real life issues, like you lost internet, your character can miraculously come back to life (potentially with lots of bionics!) because in science fiction nobody ever stays dead anyway.
